I REALLY like this! I must admit that I was skeptical of purchasing it (unsniffed) based on the negative reviews I came across BUT my curiosity got the best of me. First off, I HATE Alien but LOVE Angel. Now...on to this masterpiece. The opening is VERY pungent and sooo different from anything that I've ever smelled, which is a good thing. I hate to wear what everyone's wearing. Some have mentioned the smell of ashtrays or smoker's breath which is what almost influenced me to NOT purchase it but I don't get those smokey notes. Instead, I get something a bit peppery that is very reminiscent of fresh Cannabis (unburned), then comes the entoxicating fig. Oh my! I Love it! It does mellow out a bit but is lingering. I like to layer it with a limited edition lotion from Ulta called Fresh Juniper. The perfect match. I also saw a few YouTubers (male and female) describing it as unisex. I totally agree, especially with the weird, masculine looking bottle. I could see it sitting on some hip dudes dresser with no problem. I would actually get turned on if I smelled this on a man. LOL. Anyway, my purchase was a steal after finding a 1oz. bottle at Marshalls for $25. I also saw it at TJ Maxx. Must get more...to stock pile.

I received a sample of this from Dillards and fell in love with it. My daughter told me yesterday in the car, "The smell of your perfume keeps changing as the day goes on." She is exactly right! When you first spritz it on, it is very strong and an almost strange smell but as the day goes on, it develops different notes.

My one beef is the name of this fragrance. When people ask me what I'm wearing (and it happens alot), I'm embarrassed to say "Womanity" because inveritably they reply "What????" Thanks Thierry!

I have been searching for a perfume that would be different and could be my new signature scent. I typically wear DKNY Be Delicious or Marc Jacobs Daisy, but lately it seems that so many people are wearing these scents and I wanted something different. I smelled some of the other TM perfumes such as Alien and Angel, but I hated both. I tried a sample of Womanity at Sephora. Instead of spraying a scent card or just a small amount on my wrist, I sprayed a large amount of the spray on my arm. I was initially VERY put off by the smell. I felt like I smelled like a tree. I was so upset that I had sprayed so much on myself not knowing how this would smell with my skin. Soon after I left the store I smelled my arm again where I had sprayed Womanity, and the smell had changed. It smelled something like the Bath and Body works Bronze Bombshell, which is a scent that I love that has since been discontinued. My friend that was with me immediately noticed the smell and said that I smelled wonderful. As the day went on, more and more people were complimenting on the smell. I would say this is one of those scents that either works with your body chemistry or does not. On me, the scent was like a chameleon, and it changed many times throughout the day. It starts off with a strong wood type smell. fades to a softer almost vanilla smell, and finishes with a clean aquatic scent. Ever since that day, I have been in love with this smell. I wish it had more staying power on my skin, but I wear self tanner and I am sure that smell is what overwhelms the scent and lessens its strength. Many people do not like the packaging, but I am a fan. I think it has a really neat bottle. The spray nozzle on mine disperses a large amount of perfume with each spray, so you must be aware not to spray too much. The perfume can be a little pricey, but I think it is well worth it if you want a scent that you can truly call your own!

Smells great! Very strong juice, use with care. Dumb name, though! Lady Gaga wears this. Who knew?

I was so curious about this as I smelled the bottle at the store and it smelled amazingly NOT offensive. Angel makes me nauseous and headachey instantly. This does not. I'll keep this short. I like this in that it's very unique. It's a very complex fragrance with very distinct stages of wear. I've noticed it more with this fragrance than any other. The bottle is adorable. The cons? It might be a plus for you, but honestly, after about 30 minutes, this smells *exactly* like incense. If you don't mind walking around smelling like a Catholic church, then go ahead and buy this. It has a VERY distinct peppery note to it too. That said, I think that It's unique, wears well, and smells good, albeit religious. DEFINITELY try a sample first.

This is one horrible smelling perfume! Yuck! I can't believe there is people out ther who like this perfume. It has a nasty overwhelming peppery woodsy smell that I just cannot stand! If it didn't have that weird smelling scent then I think it would've been a really nice perfume because it's definitely sweet and fruity. It's just that horrible armpitty woodsy smell that makes it disgusting. I have to give this a one because of that and the ridiculously high price for a nasty smelling scent.

I got a sample of this at my local Sephora. Here is my impression: it starts out a bit like fizzy gingerale...and then becomes more sweet and herbal. Fig is definitely evident and there is a wee bit of oceanic or salt notes. But those fade quickly and what is left is rather milky and fig in nature. It isn't a bad scent at all..rather pleasant, but I'm not sure I would go back and buy a bottle of it. I really don't understand the strong reactions that people have written about in this forum. ****** UPDATE: I went and bought a bottle of this at TJMaxx for about $25...and now I LOVE it. On me it's a refreshing oceanic scent which morphs into a creamy fig note... it's very different and quite pleasant.

The first time i spritzed myself with this i said "this is weird"...."this is strange". Then the second time i wore it i said the same exact things to myself again. I also thought i was covering myself in cardboard boxes at first because that is what i thought i smelled at first. It must be the fig note i'm detecting. If a fragrance can be repulsive in a good way then Womanity is it. It definitely has a salty note which is obviously the cavier. It is not salty in a marine/ocean breeze or mist type of way. It is salty in a blood or semen type of way. I remember Lady Gaga said she wants her first perfume to smell like blood/semen. Womanity would have been perfect for her to release as her own. Additionally, the bottle itself has a very "Mother Monster" type of vibe to it with the hideous woman at the crest of the bottle cap staring out at you directly in the eyes. Also, to me Womanity is very masculine. Not a refined gentleman masculine but a pumping iron, working out sweaty dude kind of masculine.

The reviews on this are to be expected and are exactly what made me want to try this. Anytime a scent produces extreme love and hate, I know that in all likelihood I will love it. I am a fan of Thierry Mugler scents and Angel le Lys is my most often worn scent. Womanity is true love for me. I love the sea, but had never found an aquatic scent I could wear. This one is perfect. The opening sweet fig notes subside somewhat to reveal a delicious salty sweetness (caviar?). I don't care for the name and the bottle is not appealing to me, but I don't care what it looks like or what they call it, I'll be buying this again and again.

I don't get the cigarette comparison either, or the fishy smell/"caviar" note, or even the alleged salt. This perfume is pure fig to me. It starts out sweet fruity fig, like fresh preserves--not syrupy stewed figs or green ripe figs, but like fig jam. Sweet but not cloying. The drydown cuts some of the sweetness and brings out the fig leaf and wood. Gives it a little depth. "Fruity" is many people's least favorite fragrance category, but this one is so well done, so sophisticated. (And I got a great deal on it online, so I'm very happy.) The bottle is overdone and totally unrelated, but somehow appealing.

I guess perfumes smell different on everyone because I couldn't believe all the negative comments about this fragrance. This is my all time favourite and I can't get enough of the beautiful smell. All I can smell is figs!! This is Thierry Mugler best fragrance ever!! Will be repurchasing again for sure!!

I would like to counter all of the reviews claiming that the opening spray of this perfume smells like cigarette water; this is not the case for myself or my friends. The initial spray has a very strong burst of melon before morphing into different scents depending on who is wearing it. It turned into a cloying cloud of over-ripe melons and nectar on me but turned into the perfect summer fragrance on everyone else. Womanity is much like her sister Angel, they both give me the cold shoulder but adore others.

On the right chemistry it smells delicious; I follow my girlfriends around and whiff them when they wear it. Be sure to TRY A SAMPLE before purchasing to avoid heartache.

I'm editing this review because I think the one good thing about this fragrance is that its very unique and different. It made me sniff it again, simply out of curiosity, because there's nothing out there like it. I don't find it wearable, personally, although I could see it be interesting on the right person.

**UPDATE. Love it! Ha! I'm buying a bottle. It turned out to smell really good on my skin. At least give it a try, you may like it.

Top note smells like cigarettes! It reminds me of that weird aroma that is created when people try to cover up their ciggy smell with perfume. Just horrible.

To be fair, it ends on a super woodsy-sweet note, but only if you apply it to your skin. It's a rather intoxicating, unique scent...very hard to explain. Better to just try. Like most Thierry Mugler perfumes its a love or hate scent.

I never could wear any Thierry Mugler scents as they are just too heavy for me and don't work for my skin chemistry. I love how they smell on other people though! I had to try this stuff because the bottle is absolutely awesome, yes packaging always sells me! Surprisingly this stuff works on me! It's got a fruity sweetness but still maintains an edge to it. It's got something in the background that's almost fresh or aquatic. I normally don't like aquatics but somehow this just works. It's a great day scent I think. Feminine but a little edgy. I smell what I think is apricots mostly, I looked up the scent list and was surprised to see caviar in there! Not a fan of that but hey it works so I don't question it. I think it's time I buy a bottle of this!

I've finally found my signature scent! Traditionally, I love orientals & gourmand scents- spicy & sweet. This scent is absolutely divine. Sweet w a hint of freshness, almost like a light, sweet floral top (I hate florals btw). I don't know...this is somewhere between Johnny Depp's breath & Jesus' sweat :D. Amazing!

If pepper and mandarin are your thing then you'll probably like this perfume. Typical of Mugler it's a strange scent that hits you as enticing on some weird level. I did like this perfume until an 18yr old wore it near me and I realised it's not very grown up actually. Far from being mysterious it's more child-like than I'd want in a perfume. It smells kind of like some kind of candy come to think of it.

Mugler is good at creating perfumes that afront the senses to create an impression. But they are perfumes for girls rather than women.

This is now my HG of perfumes. What can I say, I adore it! It lasts forever, even when you cannot smell it on yourself and a little goes a LONG WAY. I have no idea about topnotes or all that LOL, but I just know that I will definitley be buying the refill again! And I love that you can get the refill for only 28.00.
Try it!
