This is my first eye primer so I can't give the best review. But since I got this my eyeshadow has blended better, the colors look more vibrant & they seems to last longer. I'm a convert

I always have a problem with my shadows clumping up in one big line on my lids. I've tried several different products to stop this, but was always disappointed. This stuff blew my socks off!! I use just a tiny bit of this and not only does it keep my shadow on all day, but NO CREASING at all. It's amazing how good this works. Your shadow won't come off until you take it off. LOVE this stuff.

I have the greasiest lids on earth. For this reason, I never bothered wearing eyeshadow because the Exxon Valdez incident on my eye lids would pretty much slick away the shadow and deposit it into nasty creases. My lids are so greasy, I can't even wear regular eyeliner. It has to be waterproof, or something else that requries an act of congress to remove. Otherwise, my eyeliner will transfer from my lash line to my brow bone. Lovely.
I have searched high and low for eye lid primers to address this problem, and have tried all the ones that got rave reviews: Urban Decay (contained grease by about 70%, not nearly enough, and still creases), bareMinerals Prime-Time (pretty decent, but dry and hard to spread/blend, I hate the twist out applicator, can't ever control output volume), Two Faced Shadow Insurance (worthless), MAC Paint Pots (hard to blend, still creases, yet hard to remove).
This Nars is the first product I've ever used that has 100% solved my greasy lids problem. It goes on smooth, blends easily, is completely invisible, and makes my eye shadow and even sooty-kohl eyeliners stay on without ever budging. What a concept! A product that does exactly what it claims! It's practically changed my life. I now have a massive eyeshadow collection, because I can actually wear them for the first time in my life. I won't even go near any other lid primer. This stuff is that good.
As for the negatives, I find it pretty gosh darn pricey for a tiny amount. I don't mind the price itself, given that it works and is worth many times more. What I mind most is that the container has very little product in it, and it runs out quickly. I'm not crazy about the sponge wand applicator, but it does the job fine. But the tube never seams full, even brand new. I always have to dig the wand around inside to scoop out the primer. Even though it will last me a couple of months, I'm doing this scooping thing from day one. I feel like the tube is always running low, even straight out of the box.
These are minor complaints given how good the product is. I'll keep buying it forever.

My eyeshadow issues: I do not have oily lids but I work in a creative enviroment where I have up to 12 hour workdays where I am running around and sweating so I need something that can stay put for a LONG time as well as be budgeproof through the sweat. A good primer should also lend to the vibrancy of a shadow.
Amazing. Started out with the cult favorite UDPP and moved onto TFSI, Chanel, ect. This is the HG of all eyeshadow primers. You actually save money using this primer because I do not have to pack of eyeshadow anymore to get the same vibrancy that a sheer layer of this primer lets me have. I work frequent ten to twelve hour days where I am meeting clients so I need to look good but not have to worry about retouching my shadow. With this product, I don't need to! Amazing.. can't even improve. Will purchase as long as they continue to make this formula.

I like this product. It goes on smoothly and really does make my shadow last forever, even drugstore shadows. I don't think it's better than UDPP or TFSI, but it's even with them. i don't really like the sponge tip applicator and prefer a tube so that I can squeeze every last bit of product out, so for that reason I won't repurchase.

She's the badiest of them all. No smuging, no creasing, no fading. This is the only eye primer I use and my eyeshadow stays in place and last all day no matter how hot or humid it is. I wish it was in a tube or jar like container, this wand thing is a mess, other than that this a very good product.

So far this is the only eyeshadow primer that works for me. I have the oiliest lids ever, so even with this primer my lids crease some, BUT, when paired with MAC painterly paint pot on top, my eyeshadows crease less. It works much better than UDPP and TFSI for me, but it is disappointing because my eyeshadows still crease some. Overall I like the consistency and it doesn't irritate my eyes, unlike UDPP.

this is my go to eye primer. i have oily lids and i have tried bare minerals, too faced and urban decay and out of all these, this is the winner. i love how it spreads, the way it feels and how my eye shadow stays creaseless all day all night! i use eye primer on days i dont have eye makeup on and it keeps my crease nice and matte. only complaint is the bulky packaging. does the wand have to be so long and big? i wish it came in a little tube or make the wand/applicator handle shorter because it takes up so much space in my makeup bag when i travel with it.

I liked that this primer held its own in a side by side comparison for a week with TFSI on me - on my moderately dry lids, UDPP is a bit drying and can flake ever so slightly, TFSI is perfect, and the Nars comes in a close second. I like that it feels more moisturizing and blends with less effort than TfSI or UDPP. The packaging is a deal breaker for me, though. I'm not a fan of anything with a wand that has to touch skin or lips. I'd like to at least see how much is left if I don't have the tube to feel how much is left, and for the price I'm sticking with TFSI as my continued HG. If someone gave me this Nars one, through, I wouldn't cry about it! It's good stuff and you should at least give it a go and see how it works for you.

I really liked this primer at first. It was about a 3.5 to 4 star product. I still had some issues with creasing, but colors amplified well, and in general, Smudge Proof kept most of my stubborn eyeshadows in place. I was pretty happy to have finally found a decent primer. And then the milia struck! My lids are now covered in teeny tiny bumps that are a bear to remove; I'm currently doing everything I can to get rid of the milia naturally. The only way other way to get rid of them is having a dermatologist pop them with a needle, and I sure as hell don't want a NEEDLE near my EYELID, or eyes for that matter. I know for a fact that Smudge Proof is to blame; I had a similar reaction to another primer in January, and it took me 3 months to return my lids to normal. I'm just allergic to the more powerful primers, I guess. This made me angry and sad, because I'm having a hard time wearing creamy textures on my lids right now. Other reviewers on MUA and other sites have mentioned this milia issue, so I'm afraid that NARS isn't the best for people with skin that tends to break out. Here's hoping they come out with a sensitive skin version!

About the product:
- Contains 8g of product
- Goes on white but blends into nothing
- Has a dove foot applicator
I love this eyeshadow primer. The best one I've used by far for my oily eyelids, and I am saying that mac paintpots crease on me by themselves. I wish the price was a little lower. I also wish that it came in a squeeze tube like many others have said because I'm almost done with mine but I get the feeling a lot of product still remains hidden inside the tube. I would definitely repurchase!

I love this eye primer it's the only one that works for my oily eyelids. The only drawback is the packaging!!!! I hate the doe foot applicator I would prefer a squeeze tube like another mua'er said...the price is a bit high but it lasts a while. Overall I'd buy again!

Amazing product. This is the only eye primer that has ever worked on my extremely oily eyelids. The only thing wrong with it is the packaging, I wish it was in a squeeze tube.

This is the best eye primer I have found. I have extremely oily eyelids, and eyeshadow always creases on me. Urban decay, bare escentuals, Mac paint pots - all left me with creasing within an hour or so. But today I used this for the first time, and my eye makeup lasted from 7am all the way til 10 pm with very minimal smudging and NO CREASING! In fact after washing my face with my cleanser there is still a lot of eye makeup on. This is a miracle.

Twice a year I get on average $1000 worth of Shiseido and Nars cosmetics because of my lovely father being a security guard during their big sales. I got this in April and what can I say besides LOVE. Its so smooth and creamy and goes on white dries clear. It doesn't crease and won't smudge my eyeshadow at all. Hopefully this winter when he goes back for another security gig, Ill more of this amazing stuff.

First of all, let me say that I have the oiliest eyelids you could ever imagine. Nothing works for me: no UD Primer Potion, no TF Shadow Insurance, no MAC Paint Pots. Nothing, except NARS Eyeshadow Base.
My eyeshadow usually starts to crease about 30-60 minutes after I have patiently applied it, no matter what eyeshadow primer I've used. Since I bought NARS Eyeshadow Base, I can safely say that my eyeshadow lasts at least up to 6 hours before it starts to crease - which, for me, is a miracle.
The packaging resembles a mascara tube, with a doe foot applicator instead of the mascara wand. I gave the packaging a 4 for two reasons: (1) as with all NARS' products, the packaging will get absolutely filthy in a matter of minutes, especially if you store it with the rest of your make up. (2) with the plastic white tube is quite hard to figure out how much product is left, and I guess that when it'll come to an end, it will be impossible to scratch the product that is left on the sides of the tube.
Nevertheless, I absolutely adore this product. The consistency is that of a white, sticky cream eyeshadow (much more sticky than UD PP). One dip of the wand is enough for both eyes. I tend to wait a couple of minutes before I apply my eyeshadow, so to give the primer the chance to adhere to the eyelids. The results are fantastic: I can finally wear an eyeshadow for more than half an hour!
I wil definitely buy it again.

So I've tried many primers that are out there on my super oily lids. I've tried Elf, UDPP, Mac Paint Pot in Painterly, and Smashbox Primer. They all creased on me some as soon as 4 hours. A primer has to last at least 12 hours for me to say that it works. I want to do my makeup in the morning and forget about it. Well, I've found my HG primer. NARS is awesome and I wish I had found it sooner. A couple of tricks that the NARS SA told me was to wipe my eyelids with a gentle toner before applying the primer, then my foundation, then my powder, and finally my eyeshadow. This stuff works so well that I had to really work to get the eyeshadow off. It was super hot yesterday and today and my makeup didn't budge. Today I even went so far as sweating like crazy cleaning and the primer still held up. I had it on for 14 hours before I removed it. You don't know how happy I am to finally find a primer that works on my crazy lids. I think the other things helped too. I will definitely be buying this again. I don't even mind the price because it works so well.

The ony primer I've tried that does not allow my eyeshadow to crease or fade.
I have oily lids and this has been awesome! It's easy to apply with the doe foot applicator it has. It's also easy to spread over the lid. Dries quickly so I can start applying shadow and liner quickly after application.
It lasts along time too.

This beats any other eyeshadow primer I've used in the past (UDPP, TFSI and NYX). I have combination/oily skin, and find it hard to find good eye primers that will last the entire day since I live a busy lifestyle. The formula is very silky smooth and light-weight. Once its blended into my skin, I notice how it mattifies an oily area instantly. I've used this for a month now and I've never noticed my eyeshadow creasing or fading.
My only gripe with the product is of course the packaging. If NARS made this in a squeezable tube, I wouldn't be wasting so much product that is left around the rim of the tube. Overall, it's become my HG primer and I'll definitely be making a repurchase.

I'm kind of addicted to eye primers, so I was really excited when I got a sample of this when it first came out. I haven't met many NARS products I haven't liked, so I thought this could be my new HG primer. While it's unfortunately not the best I ever used, it's pretty darn good.
I really like how silky this feels and how easily it glides onto the lids. It dries very quickly, which is usually a plus for me, but sometimes it dries a little too quickly, before I can finish evenly blending it. This doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, it can result in slightly splotchy shadow application.
I know many people love that this is totally transparent, but I prefer my bases to have a tiny bit of color. I have super thin eyelids and my veins can show through quite a bit, so any hint of color a primer can provide is good news for me.
I also wish this was in a squeeze tube! I don't mind primers with applicators, but I find squeezing a small dot and applying with my finger is the easiest method, plus you can be sure to get out every last drop.
Aside from these small problems, I really like this stuff. It keeps shadows, liners, etc. on all day without fading, smudging, or creasing. It also really improves the vibrancy of your eye makeup, unlike some primers on the market. It dries down to a slightly sticky base, which I love -- it really helps grab whatever you're putting on your eyes.
Due to the price and the fact that there are a few primers I prefer over this one, I wouldn't repurchase. But it's really a good product, so I would recommend at least trying it out and seeing how it works for you.
