I ran out of my usual powder foundation and was looking for something to tide me over until I made it to a mac store. First of all, DON'T use the powder puff this compact comes with, that thing is crap and you'll get awful coverage and blending if you use it.
Instead, I use a kabuki brush. I apply my liquid foundation and then swirl the kabuki around, tap it and apply in circular motions. It goes on great this way, and the coverage is natural and matte. I like this stuff, it works well on my oily skin. I would repurchase as a second to my mac powders.

The first time I bought this powder was early last year. I got this makeup in "warm beige ". Its just the right shade for me!

Pros & cons

Pros:
-Controls the oil on my combination for about 10 hours
- looks natural
-the color is just right on my skin
- doesn't rub off
-with concealer it gives full coverage
-not shiny

Cons

- sometimes the package can be a bit hard To open but you get better at it over time

Overall

When I first tried this powder it did look cakey on my skin. I used my own powder brush because I thought it would work better. I tried 5 different brushes some high quality and some cheap ones! They all caked on this makeup. I was ready to return it until I tried using the little powder pad it came with. It looked flawless!!!!

This powder stays on my skin until I want to wash it off! It's so great!! I gave it 4 lippies because it can't look cakey.
Just remember to use a concealer first then set it with this powder!!

I got this pressed powder a long time ago when I was first getting into make up. Cover Girl clean oil control was my first pressed powder, and I bought it in the summer (when the oil/moisture control was needed).

The biggest problem with this is that it does not stay on my face. The coverage easily slides off in warmer weather or even for those who have combo/oily skin. When I blot my makeup with a tissue, the product comes off easily. It even gets on your clothes (ie. it might rub off on the neckline of your shirt or if you change clothes).

The coverage of the powder is low to medium and is not really buildable. I suppose those with dryer skin could use it in cooler weather where they won't be sweating but it's not for me.

I bought this in Medium Light 535. I've read a review (on another site) warning this shade is too peach but it doesn't look unnatural on my face. I wish they had the powder in Creamy Natural or something cuz CN is my shade for Fresh Complexion.
My T-zone stayed matte for a few hours before I needed to touch up. I wasn't looking for coverage (um it's a pressed powder, NOT powder foundation) so lack of coverage isn't an issue for me.
Overall, it's a good, cheap pressed powder

*UPDATE*
I'm soooo going back to Fresh Complexion. The powder needs touch-up every other hour (FC needed on every 4-6 hrs). And I think it's breaking me out a little.

A lot of people seem to be upset that this doesn't offer any coverage or provide hours and hours of oil-control but I think they are expecting WAY too much - this is just a pressed powder people! If you want long lasting oil-control you have to find yourself a good foundation or a primer if you need it (my HG is Revlon Colorstay in Ivory for Oily/Combo skin). I personally LOVE this product! I am very pale and have oily, acne-prone skin. I used to use the sensitive version before they re-designed the packaging but switched to this one once it became available (and I still never see it at Shopper's or Pharma, they only carry the green and brown ones - I only find it at Loblaws and WalMart but that's fine as their prices are usually lower anyway). It is perfect for setting my makeup after I've applied my foundation and concealer. I use a big fluffy sigma powder brush and just lighty dust it over my whole face - sometimes I'll use the puff provided if I want to set any 'difficult' areas (aka blemishes) and then dust the brush over top to take off any excess. As a previous review mentioned it can look cakey if you pile it on, but as a finishing powder it works wonderfully for me and the Classic Ivory shade is perfect - I have NEVER had any troubles with it looking orange (although my shade is very light so maybe the darker ones have trouble) This is a staple for me and I always have one at my vanity and one in my purse for touch-ups. LOVE this stuff!

The package, although nice, is very hard to open. The shade selection is not very wide, even though they have a lot of colors. I do not like cover girl face makeup and would not recommend it. It is very cheap price wise, not that that is a bad thing, but in this case yes, it is.

One of my favorite drugstore pressed powder that gives you good coverage when you touchup. I hate the packaging though cause the 2 sides easily break off and seperate

This powder broke me out and was too dark for me. It covers nice but breaks me out so bad. The packaging is bulky and hard to open and close. I really recommend not buying any powders at all of you have acne.

I can really, really, really say that I would buy this product over and over again. It's perfect for me! The powder goes on light weight and is formulated perfectly with the liquid foundation. If you want to use the powder, I HIGHLY suggest you use the matching foundation with it... for a more flawless finish. The powder costs the same as the foundation, at Walmart, for around 6 dollars. As does the liquid foundation, the powder clears up any shine, doesn't clog your pores, stays on all day, and is light on the skin! I'd give this product a-go!

This powder is great! I'm asian and it does not turn my face orange. The coverage is just right, in that people cannot see that i am wearing powder, but it still sets my concealer and covers it so that it looks natural. My face gets quite oily by the end of the day, and I feel kind of gross with powder and oil layered on my skin. But thats not the powder's fault. It doesn't really control my oil, although it will blot it if i reapply. In fact, i think it emphasizes the oil or makes my face produce more oil, cause i always feel like i look more oil with the powder on than without. the packaging is sturdy but really awful to open. i still have not figured out a way to open it easily. i now lay it flat permanently. so i like this product because it doesn't cake on and doesn't make my face a weird color.

These Cover Girl pressed powders have always been hit or miss for me.. I decided to try this one out since it was on sale AND I had a coupon.. Hooray! Don't use the horrible puff-thing that comes with it. It works wonders if you have a big fluffy brush. I apply my foundation/concealer and lightly pat this all over my face to set it... and I am so suprised how great of a job this stuff does. I have extremely oily skin, not to mention I live in Texas where it is a bajillion degrees. I went tubing for 6 hours and my face still looking amazingly matte. Try it out! For less than 5 dollars it won't hurt. Just don't over-do it. Its really not meant to conceal anything. If you put too much on then obviously it will look cakey and gross. :]

TURNS ORANGE *sigh* does an okay job of keeping the oil at bay but i do have to reapply it every 45mins i would say....i feel like it clogs my pores too cuz i have these tiny little white heads after one use of it on my cheeks....i only use it on my Tzone but i used it on my entire face one day n i feel like that's where all the bumps n white heads came from
not impressed at all

I used the classic weird brown covergirl powder for years, Never looking for much other then a powder to set my foundation etc. Then I desided to experiment with different brands and other types of powders ... and ended up back at this product.
It doesn't really cover anything, Its matte, and I get it in the lightest color so I don't worry about any orange tones. It does just what I need and respects my acne prone / oil prone skin.
Cheapest pressed powder out there too.

i wear clean oil control foundation in soft honey, and i decided to get the matching shade to set my foundation.
i have only a faint idea about its efficacy (in terms of controlling oil and shine) because i wore it once and realized it was waaaaaay too dark.
i figured that the shades would match but no, the powder looked a shade or two darker.
so i really haven't even had a chance to use it.
my face looked really orange after applying the powder.
the one time i used it, the powder held up just okay, but it wasn't particularly amazing, so i don't think it's worth going back to try a lighter shade.
also, the packaging looks better than the older design, but it's bulkier and sometimes hard to open.

I love this powder! It really does soak up oil becasue I am very oily during the hot months and this is perfect. If aplied to much it can give a slight powdery look, however i fix that by just wetting my hands a little and gently patting it on my face. This sets the makeup and makes my skin look dewy. This powder is def. only for really oily skin becasue it can be drying for people with combo skin or not-that-oily skin. The colors run a little dark in my opinoin so get one shade lighter than usual.

I have extremely oily, acne prone skin and this product really helped mattify my skin and didn't make me break out. I've never even tried to use the applicator it comes with, but instead used E.L.F.'s complexion brush with it. This pressed powder doesn't make my skin look cakey and the color matches pretty well. I'm waiting for my order for Mark.'s oil absorbing pressed powder to see if I like that better or covergirl's, and we'll see which I re-purchase from there.

Edit: I actually ended up returning this power because I felt like the color was a little too light for my skin, and the one darker was too dark. It's also just an average blot powder, so I just went with Mark.'s.

I have this in classic ivory.
PROS
doesn't oxidize (turn orange) on my skin like other powders
Helps control oil
Sets my makeup well
CONS
can look cakey
the new CG packaging can be a little difficult to open at times

**For the people who say this has no coverage, it's not supposed to. It's not a powder foundation, it's just a powder to help set makeup or control shine, and yes many powders will enhance dry skin. It's probably not just this powder.

I really like the packaging and I was sooo excited to try this. But once I did, my face LITERALLY looked orange, as if I had a fake-tan gone wrong. I figured I got the wrong color, but I asked my friend who also tried it, and she said it made her face look yellow. Which isn't good at all.
I have actually found a use for this, though. I have really noticeable tanlines so I just pat it onto my tanline and voila! Gone.
But overall, no, I will never buy this again. D:

i absolutley HATE this.
first of all, i hate the applicator. it's very cheap and worthless. i also have trouble opening the case. and the powder? it just sits on my face, doesnt even cover up anything! oh, it does make blemishes and dry skin stand out more. oh boy! don't waist your money on this garbage. it was completley useless. i washed it off right after i put it on cuz it made my face look worse. i spent over $5 on this junk.

I really like this product for the most part! It's kinda like an oil blotting powder because the minute you put it on, it gets rid of all the oil and shine-which i love, the only issue i have with it is that it only lasts for about 2 hours-which is still a long time, but I'm still trying to find something that will keep my face matte ALL day. But for being DS this is really great!
