***UPDATE***

So, I've finally managed to make this work. It's still not stunning, but it's nice. The key is to apply it with a VERY light hand and mimic natural shadows. Still won't repurchase though.

Vega is nice, but not that overly stunning. I have grey-blue eyes and bought Vega because of
all the raves saying it looks gorgeous with blue and grey-blue eyes. I don't know why, maybe
it's my eyecolor, maybe it's my complexion, but my eyes keep looking better with browns and
champagnes.

A lot of muaers suggested to wear Vega on its own and it will have some sort of "magical" effect
on your lid, like natural highlights and contouring or whatever. Unfortunately I didn't experience
any of these effects. When I apply Vega with a light hand I look tired, applied more of it makes me
look sick or even dead. The only way I found Vega looks nice on me is to use Vega with a lighter
color like Shadowlights Eclat applied in V-form or in the crease.

Actually I like the color in the pot, but unfortunately it just isn't for me :(.

This is great. Understated and subtle, good for everyday, while still looking elegant. Big thumbs up from me. Thanks to all the reviewers for convincing me that this was great, I would have missed out otherwise

This is a staple eyeshadow for me, replacing my beloved MAC Satin Taupe. They're in the same color family but look very different on. Vega is silky-smooth, blendable, and pigmented, with sparkly fine shimmer. Satin Taupe has a more "satiny" looking finish but doesn't look as rich and complex as Vega, nor does the texture compare; the shimmer is much more flat and rather dull in comparison. I am an MMM (NC30) with brown eyes and hair, and Vega is great on lids for a simple, polished neutral look. It doesn't overpower my eyes, but enhances them.

This is a great color for blue eyes. It can be worn day or night. Chanel shadows are in a league of their own. This one is another winner!

I had no intention of buying this, but I wandered across it at Sephora and loved the way it looked on the back of my hand. This is such a pretty shimmery taupe shade. Contrary to what another reviewer said, I find the shade to be extremely natural looking (PPP w/ brown/hazel eyes). The only minus I see is that even when applied wet, the color's staying power left something to be desired on me, even with shadow base underneath. Overall, though, quite a lovely and flattering shadow!

This is my first Chanel e/s and I just love it! I bought it based on the reviews here on MUA and I'm glad I did!! The colour compliments my blue/grey eyes wonderfully and I often use it to create a smoky look with some black eyeliner on inner rims. It goes on very smoothly and has good staying power. I would definitely purchase again. I love the packaging, it comes in a cute little velvet pouch and I love the fact that the compact has a mirror.

What a butt ugly color. Fine if you're a goth or a stage performer but not for real life and real people. One of the fakest and ugliest colors I have seen. Glad I swapped for this and did not pay money. Edited 5/31/2004-tried this at a friend's home with a special crease brush from WTF. It does look *better* applied with the correct kind of brush but it is still and ugly over rated color and not worth the hype or the money. My friend actually offered the shadow to me because she doesn't like it either but I passed and told her to swap it or toss it.

This is a wonderful eyeshadow, my fave! :) The color is natural and beautiful, great for everyday wear. The texture is so soft and the eyeshadow is very blendable. This really brings out the green in my eyes, but I really think that this would suit all eye colors! Love the subtle shimmer :)
This is a lot more pigmented though than a lot of the shadows I have used in the past which is ofcourse a good thing, but also means I have to apply more carefully. Does not crease on me at all.

Love it, love it, love it! This is a perfect everyday shade. The only downside is that it's so darn $$$ that if I wear it everyday I'll have to spend more to rebuy!
This is a wonderful silvery taupe color. IMO, it's tons better than Satin Taupe by MAC. The texture of the Chanel e/s is just much better than MAC. Vega also seems easier to blend than Satin Taupe to me.
Vega looks great as a nudish eye, or built up with other complementary colors as a more dramatic eye. This e/s is worth the money!

I ordered Vega after reading so many rave reviews on MUA. I'm glad I did because this is great! Just looking at this shade before applying, I thought it was pretty, but nothing special. I don't know how to describe it, but this shade somehow transforms into gorgeous once applied. I have very oily eyelids, but this shadow lasted longer than any other ever has on me. I think it remained creaseless for about 5 or 6 hours all by itself. Later I used Lancome cream shadow (Colour Dose Eye in Bermuda Sunrise) underneath and that increased Vega's staying power to more than 12 hours. It might have lasted even longer if I hadn't removed it before bedtime. Also, Vega applied over the Bermuda Sunrise cream shadow looked absolutely stunning. I am not skilled at eyeshadow application. Somehow, Vega looked perfectly applied, even though I did nothing different than I ever have. This is the most I have ever spent on one eye shadow ($21.50), but I will definitely repurchase.

Another rave for vega! This hits the taupe look just right. All other similar colors I've tried look muddy, dirty or just plain wrong on my skin. But this one looks and feels luxe, silky and beautiful. Looks boring in the package but it's magic on the lids.

Purchased Vega based on great reviews at MUA. I'm a mmm/ggg with medium brown eyes. used alone this e/s makes me look tired which i usually look w/o makeup.

The only way i can make this work is to warm it up with another shadow.

I think this color is best suited for fair skinned blue eyed young women.

I admit, I only bought Vega because of all the raves from blue eyed gals. My initial reaction was that it was going to go up for swap. It just seemed like nothing special. But, after playing around with it, I found that it has a special place in my makeup loot. When I used Stila Oasis and Golightly to warm it up a little, it really gave my eyes an interesting and natural great subtle day look. Not exciting, but really pretty. At 40, this is a big deal! I doubt I'd ever repurchase, because I can't ever imagine finishing this.

I ordered this from sephora.com and when i opened it for the first time (i'd never tried it before) i was a little disappointed. it looked boring, basically. however, i tried it on anyway. i still wasn't blown away like i was expecting to be but it had a smooth silky consistency and was excellently pigmented. the color (a multi-faceted kind of silvery mauvey taupe)was nice but not amazing. BUT, as the day went on, i received SO many compliments on it, which really surprised me! i guess its a keeper then! hehe...i like how it looks polished and not 'out there'. either warm or cool tones could wear this for sure, but i think it might look a tad bit better on cool tones. this would be a nice everyday color for most, but its too dark for everyday use on my fair skin.

I have never been dissatisfied by any Chanel products and this is no exception. The color is absolutely gorgeous and unique. There is nothing more that I can say that hasn’t been said, but I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I like this - it wears well, but isn't magic for small eyes. Vega went bruise-like as a wash; I need to apply along crease, lash line, and (lightly!) on lower lashes for a good effect (+ Stila Chinois as wash). Then, then the raves here come true - it looks subtle, defines my eyes, and gives the blue-grey a 'pop'. Still, it doesn't work on my pink skin days - the cool tone clashes (silvery greyed-plum overwhelms any taupe). The rosacea-prone should probably avoid this.

Simply perfect. And I mustn't be so mean as to take away one lippy for that horrid price tag.

love this like most of chanel's cosmetics. The quality is great.
The colour is another violet taupe that makes my hazel eyes look more green.
