This is Keith Richards' HG eyeliner. On that note alone, it ought to tell you that it wears like iron. And boy does it ever...crying, allergies, colds, wind, rain, snow, intense 100+ heat indices, it stays put period until you take it off. The best part is that it goes on smoothly, does not tug or drag or pull the fragile eyelid area, and does not get all gooey and runny if you should decide that you want to rim the inner lower lids as well. First eyeliner in pencil form that has not irritated my sensitive eyes.Just keep that pencil tip recision-sharpened all the time and you can't go wrong. If not for Keith Richards, I would have never known how fabulous this product is, and never imagined that it would become a daily staple in my makeup collection. So, hats off to Keith and to MAC. Maybe he should be the next MAC spokespereson/model for the company. He sure "lives" the product. That said, the liner doesn't just make your eyes look good, it works and lives up to your expectations. If it ain't gonna run off on Keith after hours on stage and under sweat and hot lights, then you know it's going to stand up to the rigorous standards of daily life.

Smolder is brilliant for a really intense black eyeliner. Although I do tend to use it regularly for my evening looks, I find that after a couple of hours it has smudged underneath my lower lashes and disappears quickly from my waterline.
I wouldnt use it on my top lashline as I have quite oily eyelids and even with my primer potion, this eyeliner transfers onto the top of my lids. For this reason I have to stick with a liquid liner.
To be honest, I dont think that this eyeliner is much better than perhaps benefit bad gal... and i would definitely recommend avon super shock gel liner is you are looking for staying power on the waterline.
It may be that my eyes arent suited to the softness of this liner, however this liner may work for you and is perfect for photoshoots when it only has to last perfectly for an hour or so.
On a positive note, you do get a lot of eyeliner so if this liner works for you, the price is not too bad. (Tip: to make this eyeliner stay in place better, press a black shadow, such as MAC carbon over the top. Although this helps, I do not feel that you should have to set a high-end eyeliner).

I got this eyeliner off eBay for about 12AUD which is obviously dirt cheap. It was genuine too!

Firstly, let me start of by saying this is the blackest black eyeliner that I have come past. I have had trouble with other eyeliners for being too light, or very hard to apply (doesn't go on smoothly or easily). But MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder is my favourite eyeliner yet! I am just about to purchase another one. It applies smoothly and easily. The only bad thing is that it smudges on the outer corners but I am yet to come across an eyeliner that doesn't have this effect on my eyes (this includes liquid liners).

Pros:
- Very intense black
- Glides on smoothly & easily
- Doesn't fade/smudge on top lid

Cons:
- smudges on outer corners of eyes

This eyeliner is super smudge-able!! I usually use it on my top eye lid and use a sponge tip smudge brush.. However I do not really suggest this eyeliner to use in the waterline... It used to 'leak' onto my skin.. and I had to repeatedly fix my eyeliner, and clean it with a q-tip.. So if your looking for a smudge-able eye liner use this for the top lid!! I do love the black.. Very smooth... <3

I had heard some rave reviews about this product and so I thought I'd give it a go. I really didn't like this product. It smudges really easily and it doesn't last long, and I don't think it is worth the money you pay. There are much better eyeliners for a lower price! Will not be repurchasing!

LOVE this eye pencil. It goes on so dark and smooth. I don't really see the major smudging that people are talking about but I have dry skin so my makeup usually doesn't budge anyways. Gives the perfect smokey sexy look.

I probably would tried to use up my smolder eye kohl pencil but i wouldn't buy it again. It dont last as long as the MUFE aqua liner on my waterline and lash line. My T-zone gets oily but my eyes dont get as oily and this kohl pencil is so soft that after a few hours of wearing it, the product just slide or smudge down below my lash line and make me look like I have raccoon eyes. I have also tried it with eye primer and it still smudged on me.
I think if you have normal to dry skin this will work very good on you. I hope a company out there will make tons of products for us oily skin folks.

HOLY MOTHER OF FALLING LINERS.
Though the application was great, 30 minutes after said application had drooped off. I had pronounced rings pretty far under my eyes that I'd never experienced before- my eyes generally aren't oily and I never thought I'd have that problem, but then I tried this eyeliner.
ehw.

I do not like this liner. This is such a mess for me if it's not set with a black eyeshadow. I don't think i should have to set an eyeliner; that is too much work. I will never buy again. Fluidline in blacktrack is a much better alternative.

I absolutely love this eyeliner. It is super pigmented and it is really creamy and blends like a dream and the staying power (on me personally, I know on others it can be very flaky and smudgey) is great. I specifically use it for my waterline and it stays for ages or if I want it to be really long lasting, I'll set it with a black shadow.

It also works great for a base underneath shadows and again, it is very smooth and creamy. My absolute favourite and I would absolutely re-purchase.

The only downside is the price :( and it doesn't seem to be very consistent with people. It works great for me but my mother, who originally had it, said it smeared and smudged like crazy.

I am a massive fan of this eyeliner, it gives a sexy smokey look as it is an easily blended liner to really smoke out your looks. Worn on the waterline it is the blackest eyeliner I have yet to come across. It wears pretty well throughout the day and I would say I wouldn't have to reapply. Thoroughly impressed^^

A bit soft but goes on like silk. smudges especially on the waterline, but no skips on the upper lid. I think the color is nice and rich and it is something I use daily. Another good thing is that my eyes don't burn as much with this when I apply it to the waterline.

What i love about this Kohl pencil is that it draws a very clean, precise and high pigment black line onto the waterline. I've been using Chanel Kohl pencil for years, which i still prefer, but the Chanel ones don't create such a clean sharp line as this one! So if you don't want a smudged look this is a great pencil to use! This one is better than many drug store and even lancome kohl pencils in my opinion. The staying power is great. This is my second favourite Kohl after Chanel's.
Update: My eyes have started burning really bad with this! Shame cos I really like the intensity of this kohl. Down from four lippies to three.

Overall this is a good product. Goes on smooth and applys great on the waterline. Great pigmentation and decent staying power. I think that I can find something better for what I want it for though.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to purchase this liner! I've tried tons of drugstore kohl liners and I had no idea what I was missing out on. Right now this liner is the best in my collection (I've never tried UD or Stila just for the record). It goes on fairly smooth but still tugs a bit. Compared to anything else I've tried, it stays on my waterline a fairly long time. I love how easy it is to smudge out for a smokey liner look which is what I've been wearing a lot since I got this eyeliner. Its a bit expensive but its longer than any of the other pencils I own. I think this is a must for any makeup collection...I will repurchase when I run out!

I only recently gave in and purchased this pencil. I don't know what took me so long. I am so impressed with it. I've read some less than favourable reviews, but for me this really lived up to the hype. I found that it's dense and pigmented, and if I apply it close to the lashline and then blend and smudge with a 266 angled liner brush I can work it right into the lashes. I also use the 266 brush to draw the winged portion into a finer point. Normally with liquid and cream liners I need to use a matte black powder to set the liner and fill in lashline gaps, but with this one I don't need to. I usually apply it sparingly to the waterline close to the lashes as well. Once applied, the colour lasts all day without smudging, smearing, bleeding or fading. Though it's soft enough to work with it's not so soft that you have to sharpen it each time you use it, so it lasts quite a long time. Though it costs more in comparison to similar drugstore products, so far I think it's worth the price. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do, but honestly I can't see myself switching back to any other black liners - drugstore or high end. Wonderful kohl pencil!

I read good reviews about this product and ordered it online to get it as it is not sold in my country. A definite no no. Maybelline is much better for half the price!! It makes me look like a panda.. smudges to much quickly. I do not like it.

I dont see what all the hype is about this eyeliner. I spent so much on this eyeliner and yet the cheaper alternatives I used before are almost better than it. I recently bought the Avon Jumbo Pencil in Night Glisten and its better than this one! I live in the Caribbean where the weather is steaming and after I put this on, it starts smudging before I even leave home. Such a waste of money and definitely not the first MAC product Ive been truly dissapointed by!
