It works well as a deodorant/ antiperspirant and it doesnt leave white marks on my black clothing but I dont really think it makes my underarm hair grow slower lol. I still have to shave them everyday so I dont think it does what it claims but it has a fresh scent and it keeps me sweat free so id probably repurchase

As a deodorant/anti-perspirant I'd give this 4 stars. I love Dove deos and have used them for years. As a hair minimizer, this isn't any great shakes. I've been using this for about 3 months now and while I noticed a very slight change in the texture the hair, it's not enough to justify the extra cost. I had high hopes as I've always been pleased with my Dove deos and as someone with extremely fair skin and black hair, I would love something that could minimize the obvious underarm stubble I experience. But no such luck. Hair didn't grow any more slowly or sparsely, just slightly more fine in texture. I'll use up this one stick I bought and then switch back to my normal Dove Ultimate powder scent. Not a repurchase for me.

this works fine for me to help with sweating and odor, but it does nothing at all to help minimize the hair, which is one reason i bought it. i still have to shave every day and theres no change in texture of the hair. dont waste your money if you want a hair minimizer.

Ughhh. Not only does this not make a difference in my underarm hair but it doesn't work very well as an antiperspirant.

After using this deodorant and nothing else on my armpits for over six weeks I still see absolutely no difference in the amount of hair on my pits, the thickness of the hair on my pits, and the rate at which that hair regrows. Before this product if I shaved my pits in the morning I'd likely have stubble the next day and after six weeks of this I still get stubble the next day. The only positive I really have for this product is that the Wild Rose scent is very nice. If the only reason you want this product is to minimize hair don't waste your money.

First let me say that I love Dove products...pretty much all of them. However this deodorant is going to have to be my "winter time when I'm not sweating" deodorant which is a bummer since it's supposed to minimize hair growth. How this does that when I shave nearly every day? I don't know. It didn't irritate my under arms which I expect from Dove but it didn't do much to slow hair growth, make it softer or stop me from perspiring.

Secret Flawless is my HG deodorant and I'm glad I always keep it around.

I bought this to try while on vacation, hoping it would minimize my underarm hair. I've used the product for three weeks now and see no real difference in my underarm hair (or lack thereof). About the only thing I've noticed is that my underarms are a bit less sensitive, but that hasn't stopped me from needing to shave daily.

The scent is nice, but I often end up with white marks on my clothes. The protecting power of this product isn't that great either. I feel much more damp than I do with other products. I was really hopeful that this Dove deodorant would do the trick for me, but I don't really like it, and I will not repurchase this.

I love Dove Clinical Protection Visibly Smooth antiperspirant so much (see my review), which I use at night, that I decided to try Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth for day. The Clinical Protection version leaves a lot of white residue on my clothing, which doesn't really matter when I'm wearing pajamas, but I prefer very clear antiperspirants for day, especially when wearing sleeveless shirts in summer. Unfortunately, although the Ultimate leaves less white residue than the Clinical Protection, it still leaves more than I prefer. Plus, it doesn't keep me as dry as I like (I sweat a lot and do best using a strong antiperspirant both morning and night). So although I'll keep using Dove Clinical Protection Visibly Smooth at night (it really does a great job of reducing hair growth), during the day, I'm going back to my favorite Mitchum Smart Solid.

I hate to be the negative one here but.. this stuff has done absolutely nothing for me.
I've been using it for 3 weeks now, and have NOT noticed ANY difference in my underarm hair texture, thickness, or frequency. I LOVE Dove deodorants, but this one is actually terrible at being an antiperspirant. I still sweat with this particular Dove product, whereas with the "normal" Dove deodorants, i dont. Very disappointing :(

UPDATE: after using for 6 weeks, noticed absolutely NO difference whatsoever. Also, was a horrible antiperspirant!! I'll go back to the normal Dove now.

Although visibly smooth is not as good as a deodorant / anti-perspirant as mitchum, it's adept at its other purpose; making your skin look smoother/keeping your pits stubble free longer. After a couple weeks, my underarms were much much much easier to shave (I have easily irritable skin) and hairs seemed a little thinner.

However, I did have issues with white tranfer. A few hours after trying it, it seemed to have stained my shirt a little bit. It does nothing for controlling sweat which is too bad. I prefer anti-perspirants to deodorants and will be sticking to mitchum despite the shave benefits of the dove.

I have used the original DOVE solid before which didnt do much at all, and i ended up trashed it. I'm not heavy on sweating usually though i still use deodorant once a while. I picked this up at my local target for under $3. And it been working like whoaa! Last weekend my work place AC was broken. I had to do 10 hours shift and it was really HOT inside my job. I mean, all i was doing was stand there and type # and my forehead would start to sweat.. LoL But the whole time my underarm was staying totally dry and actually smell fresh like i didnt sweat at all. Definitely a repurchase for me!

Prior to using this I was using Ban, which was really irritating my underarms. I finally decided to switch brands, and because I heard really good reviews about this product I figured I'd give it a try. In most cases, deorderants/antiperspirants do not work for me whether it's causing me to break out in a rash..or just not doing the job of "deodorizing" I've never been completely satisified. Let me tell you, this stuff is really great. I've used it for about 5 days with no irriation what so ever. The smell, "wild rose", last pretty much all day. After a hard day at work there is so hint of B.O. As far as decreasing hair growth, I've noticed a difference. I've also noticed my underarms feel much smoother. I'm guessing there's so sort of exfoliating ingredient in this. I will definetely purchase this again!

WOW! This is by leaps and bounds the best deodorant I have ever used. Like, this is a miracle product. Why? Because it does what it says it will. Actually, it does way more than what it claims. It doesn't just make your hair feel smoother/finer... it actually just inhibits 85% of hair growth, and makes the rest of it super fine. I normally have very dark, thick underarm hair. Yeah, it's gross. And I have to shave every day if I don't want it to show. But... I also get really bad razor burn which makes shaving every day impossible... and results in my having to wear shirts with sleeves that cover my under arms most days. NOT ANYMORE!!! I shaved as usual Friday morning, and applied this deodorant. And continued to apply it once in the morning as usual. Today (Monday!!) I had 2 hairs that were visible under my arms. TWO!!!!!!! Compared to the usual 1000. Seriously, this stuff is a miracle and I am telling everyone I know to go buy it. Including you! Go buy it!!!!!

This is a new product that just came out. It has been advertised for some time before product launch so I have been watching for it. Supposedly, if used for a few weeks, it makes underarm hair finer, less stubble, lighter and easier to remove. I've been using it at night for a few days then my regular deodorant in the mornings, a heavy duty anti perspirant for people that sweat a lot, but I may switch to the Dove in the mornings as well. It comes in two scents, Wild Rose and Nature Fresh, I prefer the Nature Fresh. It is a solid deodorant but I'm not noticing any transfer to my clothes or jammies. I don't think I've been using it long enough for it to make my hair less stubbly but I'm cautiously optimistic as it does seem easier to shave. My hair is already light as I am a natural redhead so stubble isn't a huge problem, someone with dark hair might notice a bigger difference. Nature Fresh is a lovely, soft scent and the product goes on smoothly and easily. I really, really like it so far.
Edit: I forgot to add that I found this product at Walmart.
