This is one of my favorite MAC beauty powders. I'm NC40 and like others said, this is very natural and glowy on me. It definately shows up as a nice light blush that is buildable. Although I don't think this color is super unique, the hint of lavender is different but doesn't show up too much on me. Not being unique is not bad though, as this is a wonderful staple color. The rose design is great and makes you want to pull it out to use. I was on the fence about this one but I'm glad I bought it and would definately repurchase!

This color reminds me of Nars Blush in Sin except that Summer Rose doesn't have a ton of shimmer in it. SR is a matte berry pink that is perfect for blush. I don't know if this is a very summery color...I always think of corals and peaches for summer. This is a nice break from wearing warmth if you like to mix it up. I think it pairs well with A Rose Romance lipstick. I still have to figure out how to wear the shadows with it. This is my 4th Beauty Powder (Flower Mist Dew, Tahitian Sand, and Pretty Baby are my other three).

This is officially my favouite blush! I have light skin and brown eyes, dark hair, and this definitely shows up as blush on me. It's a light lilac pink with no shimmer, and the staying power is great if I layer some mineral powder underneath. It gives me an innocent, naturally pink hue to my cheeks. I love the big wide compact because I can dip my brushes in easily. The texture is soft and smooth, and it doesn't look chalky at all even after a few layers. It just seems to melt into my skin. It looks very smooth. IMO that's what a "beauty powder" should do.

Every time I try a blush others here described as "natural," it looks muddy, dirty, and old on me, so I'm really glad I've found a "natural" shade for me! I mean, I blush pink, not brown or red!

mac has come out with so many diff beauty powders with collections, but this is the first beauty powder that i have had like this. first off, the color is amazing. its a lavender blue based pink, with a shimmer to it. its very pretty. the formula is the unique part, when you first swatch it, you don't get good payoff, its not powdery at all, its like a velvet e/s if that makes any sense. don't mistake this for a blush, its not meant for that, your suppose to use this as a finishing powder when your finished with your foundation. and you get a sexy sheen and glow. it really gives you a subtle difference, and its totally worth it, it will last a really long time. its also scented! which is really nice, its not strong or overpowering, just has a floral y scent. the rose imprint is adorable, overall i just love this powder, i would suggest you check both of the colors before you decide, i think the blush of youth would look way better on a light/pale girl, for a peachy sheen. and summer rose is perfect for girls of color like me, for a slightly darker lavender sheen. as far as applying it, i would use a couple diff brushes, the 183 kabuki brush, to buff it in, or the 168 for an all over sweep. if you have any more questions about this compact, let me know =]

I'm so glad I went back to MAC and picked this up! I wasn't originally interested in this color as I have a lot of pinks but the hint of lavender sold me. Unlike most beauty powder blushes, I find this one to be quite pigmented. This beauty powder really shows up well on my fair, cool toned skin but it isn't overwhelming; Summer Rose really gives me a nice glow. I found this wore well. I applied it with my MAC 187 and my cheeks were still "glowing" at the end of the day. I am very pleased with this purchase!

Finally I get an L.E. Mac item before it is sold out! I really do think this line of cosmetics is one of Mac's better choices for ladies like myself who are a tad bit older.;-) I love this powder and think it can have many uses. I wish the container had more powder in it actually. I can see the edges of the one I got like they did not fill it up completely. That kind of bothers me. I feel like they should at least fill it to the top to make the rose imprint really stand out, but I love it none the less. The color is beautiful for spring & summer. I love that it has a bit of fragrance to it! Finally another company discovers that a lot of us women love, absolutely love cosmetics with fragrance.
Up Date:
Still one of my favorites and yep I got a backup!
I really do notice the fragrance anymore at all. A part of me thinks it does not have any? I really do love this powder and it has become my favorite of all my blushes. Silly but I am wondering if a back up is in order. MAC often brings back very popular items and this could end up being one of those. There is so much product in this container though.....

I'm not a fan of beauty powders, but I love this one. I have tons of pinky blushes, but what I like about this is the lavender tinge. One me it applies slightly purple, but but plum (I hate plum blushes) and looks great with purplish and pink eye and lipcolors. I don't find it to be unpigmented, but it's not for dark skintones. My only complaint is that it doesn't have the greatest staying power.

Its a very pretty pink color with that gorgeous rose design imprinted in it. Gives the cheeks a flush if you use it as blush. Its a very natural cheek color. Not sure if im impressed with it enough to keep it.

the best feature of this product is the design. the rose emboss is gorgeous along with the color. i also like the fact that this comes in a msf case, with the clear cover at the top. that way you can swoon over it's beauty =] this product barely shows up on me. i'm somewhere in between a medium to dark skintone. i also bought this in blush of youth, but seeing as how this one barely shows up i didn't even bother to swatch it. needless to say b.o.y. is up for swap. summer rose shows up on me as a light flush of color, which i like as i prefer my blushes to be barely there. what i don't like is the fact that i have to dip my brush in the pan 2x to get it to appears as such. i would rather it was pigmented enough that i could lightly tap my brush in it 1x. ah well, it's not an actual blush so maybe my expectations are too grand. this color is the most popular of the two due to its color and the fact that's it's more pigmented. so if you were ever torn, this one is the better purchase.

i luv this beauty powder! i've been addicted to beauty powders n it beats my last one from the hello kitty line pretty baby! it goes on sheer, which replaces a pressed powder n looks great over your foundation to give you this amazing glow...it's not suppose to be a blush which people mistake beauty powders 4 blushes...great imprint of the rose inside so it doesn't disappear over a couple of swatches.

Well, my review for Blush of Youth applies to Summer Rose.

"I have been looking forward to the Rose Romance Beauty Powders, but they are nothing like the my faves from Barbie Loves MAC. I am not sure if the brand new tester was somehow defective, but no color would show up on my C3 skin. I swiped and swiped and got nothing. I'll pass on these!"

Mmmm it smells like rose petals. It's a beautiful blush that is imprinted to look like a rose. The colour "Summer Rose" is a soft bluey ballerina pink. Very very pretty!

This is a gorgeous color for a cool toned PPP. It's a lovely blue based matte powder that works as a blush for me. It's 0.38 oz. so it's worth the $22. I'd repurchase but it's so large I'll probably never need to.

I gotta hand it to MAC...they have great marketing people! I bought this for the packaging alone. It's lovely rose shape. Who wants to actually use it??? (LOL) It's a very pretty pink mauve color that works well as a blush. Most of the MAC beauty powders are more sheer but really, this goes on with enough coverage of a blush. I'm a C3/NC25 so it looks awesome. If you want this one, go buy it now. This item will be sold out in a matter of days.

Summer Rose came out with the Rose Romance collection. Since it's a Beauty Powder, I expected it to be quite sheer. I figured I would have to use it as kind of a highlight powder. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I applied it with my EcoTools blush brush. On me, it shows up as a light true rose blush, no shimmer. It's very soft and natural looking.

Admittedly, I'm very pale (NW15), so this might not work as a blush for darker skinned women, but I could imagine this serving as blush on pale, light, and maybe even tanned skin tones. Really lovely, and I would buy again, though I'll probably never have to. The pretty rose design looks like it will hold up for a while, too, which is a bonus! (11 grams for $22.00.)
