this foundation oxidizes on my skin. it doesnt look that good when i freshly put it on and it gets worse throughout the day. i have tried shade 1 and shade 2...both the same story. its just blah...for me, i cannot recommend it and the shade selection is not very good.

Oh my! Still on the search for the perfect foundation. Didnt find it this time either.
For a reference, I am a MAC NC20 skin, my T-zone is oily with visible pores and my cheek and eye area normal to dry. I was looking for a foundation with medium coverage and a natural finish that wouldnt make my T-zone oily after less than 2-3 hours.
So,
PROS:
1. nice and hygienic package, helps not to waste product

CONS:
1.Shiny soon after application on the t-ZONE, and i always apply it with powder on top / Cakey on my normal-skinned cheeks
2. Less than medium coverage, doesnt build up easily. I dont even have any acne, just a slight uneveness
3. Soon starts to pool into pores.
4.Definitely exaggerates skins flaws-dryness, very fine lines, pores. Makes skin look harsh and uneven.
5.Oxidizes fast. Orangey color and my skin is light.
6.Having -minor -breakouts these 2 weeks im using it, while I seldom see a clogged pore on my face. Hope its related and goes away when i stop using product- as i said i do have oily skin but no acne.
7. Too expensive for what you get, meaning that with a 30 euro tag one expects more. Well, wouldnt buy it again even if it cost 10 E!

Promise to use it with a different moisturiser, and come back for an edit. just in case!
EDIT
Used it with a different moisturiser. No difference... Too bad! I bought Shiseido Sun Protection liquid foundation which works well though.

Age: 30-35   Skin: Sensitive, Fair, Warm   Hair: Brunette, Straight, Medium   Eyes: Brown

I have combo normal/dry skin and I hated this foundation at first, but that's because I wasn't applying it right. This is my new routine for the foundation: no primer, just apply a tiny amount with my hands while my moisturizer (or sunscreen) is still a little "sticky" and then I sort of blot it with a Sonia Kashuk sponge (Beautyblender dupe), conceal whatever needs to be concealed (this fdtn is light-med coverage, so dark circles or spots will need a separate concealer) and then set with a light powder. It looks perfect all day and it sort of seals in my moisturizer and becomes sort of matte, but velvety. It's a really nice finish and it lasts all day without smudging or caking.

This foundation does dry super fast and it's not loaded with silicone (like SO many other fdtns nowadays), so it doesn't have that slippery texture. If your skin is drier, you have to use a good moisturizer underneath, and work fast, applying a small amount to smaller areas at a time.

The color Intensity 1.0 is a bit dark, considering it's the lightest shade they make. I would guess the color is probably closest to NW20 in MAC or maybe N3 in L'Oreal True Match. It's pretty neutral, but if you're very yellow-toned (or super pale), you'll probably want to skip this one or look at regular Double Wear, which comes in more shades.

Overall, I really like this. It doesn't break me out or irritate my skin (which is sensitive), the shade is neutral and it gives a nice finish that isn't too dewy or dry looking and lasts all day. I also LOVE that it comes in a hygienic squeezy-tube. Even the tube itself is lightweight and travel friendly. I will definitely repurchase this. If you're interested in buying it, I strongly recommend looking for the kit that comes with the full size foundation and DVD, and try to get it when there's a GWP going on, because for only $6.50 more than the foundation alone, you get tons of other stuff to try.

Right now I am using a sample of the product. I already own the original formula in DW but it does nothing to control the oil. This formulation looks much better on me and I have only had to do a light touch up with my Double Matte powder. I am an EL geek because I own a LOT of her cosmetics. When I went to the EL counter at Macy's this past weekend, I wanted to be matched to the Double Matte foundation but was told the line is discontinued. The MA asked me to try the DWL instead. I was matched to intensity 5. When I told the MA that I have the DW Mineral Powder at home, she used some to set the foundation. I was really surprised at how well the foundation covered the spots on my face because I was expecting a much sheerer coverage. This foundation is great. As I write this review, it has been five hours since I applied the make up with one touch up and my skin still looks flawless. Unless I have a breakout with this foundation, I have found my new HG! Thank you EL!

When I first bought this foundation, I was INLOVE! I seriously thought it was the best foundation I have ever used. My oily skin was so NOT oily when using this. My skin looked flawless. It did feel tight but I didn't care, it looked great.

Then all of a sudden my skin decided that it just didn't like it so much anymore. I started getting little red bumps that were super itchy on my cheeks. This was about 1 month after. I have stopped using it and my skin is calming down.
I decided to see if this foundation had the devil 'bismuth' in it and guess what, IT DOES!
WHYYYY Estee Lauder do you have to use this devil in this foundation!?!?!

So I will not be repurchasing this product. I have sensitive skin, I bet this works better for people who aren't so sensitive.

I have decided that this foundation wasn't the culprit to my skin breaking out.. I continued to break out after I stopped using this foundation and decided it was a different problem with my skincare routine.
It really is an amazing foundation. I will try it again when my skin settles down.

Age: 19-24   Skin: Combination, Fair-Medium, Neutral   Hair: Black, Wavy, Fine   Eyes: Green

Pros:
- Stays on all day
- Great for combination/oily skintone
- Excellent for hot, humid days (won't budge)
- Seems to "perfect" skin
- Affordable price

Cons:
- If you have normal/dry skin, be wary that it may emphasize dry spots
- Cheap packaging
- Limited color selection

Overall, I love this foundation. I have combination skin and this helps to control oil throughout the day. Fortunately for me, #2 matches me perfectly (NW20 Winter Skin/NW30 Summer Skin) but I feel like they should provide more shades for darker skinned ladies.

I got a deluxe sample of this to try in Intensity 4. Iwas surprised that i had a colour match even though it was slightly lighter but ive never found a good colour match in brands that have even Have 15 colours plus.

Triedit today over we moisturised skin and primer and it was very dry and showed up really flaky in areas that i didnt even think were dry. I looked really ill even tough it was a sheer layer. I couldnt be bothered to start again so i had a sample of the new origins Bb cream whichwas slightly too dark but compensated for the fact that this was lighter than my skin.

I think unless you have oily skin this is quite difficult towork with. I have fairly normal skin.

im so sad about this product. I got a sample of this and I was really excited. The finish was lovely, it left me radiant and gave a very natural looking makeup with enough coverage for my entire face. I love that it really stayed fresh all day and kept my oily face semi matte.. but the sad part is.. twice the time I used this, it left me with 2 huge cystic pimples on my chin and few little red bumps on my cheeks.. I was so disappointed.. i love everything about it. I even thought I found my HG foundation.. unfortunately, I'm still on the hunt..

This is a light, creamy long-wearing foundation. Very few shades available but the shades are very forgiving. Very easy to blend. I like this foundation but on hot days it looks too greasy on me because I have oily skin so I'll stick to my regular ELDW foundation. I think this light formula would look beautiful on dry, or normal skin since it feels moisturizing and it has a natural satin finish. If you want a long-wearing formulation but don't want that heavy/cakey look you should try this foundation. I wear intensity 2.0.

I had to try this after so many raving reviews about double wear, the MUA at the counter told me that the light version would be even better for the summer.
She tried a bit on my neck (I already had foundation on my face) and it blended very well so I bought a bottle and she gave me a sample as well 01light I believe it was.
Dear god, what is wrong with this product? I don't know what was wrong but every time I put this stuff on my face it felt like I had a facelift and my skin was being stretched so tight. It also looked very heavy on my face, and that's with very little product worked on.
I tried to apply it with foundation brushes, sponges, fingers and nothing made it look good. I had to take it off within 20 minutes of it being on my skin because I felt like the joker. It almost cracked immediately when I smiled too, gross.
Very fast drying time, so I understand you have to be quick to apply but wow, this is something else.
Thank god I only used the sample, and I returned the bottle I bought the next day to a very rude sales clerk at the Estée Lauder counter. I don't think after this, I will try double wear.
It also left my skin really dry and red the whole day, maybe from applyIng it too many times in a day, I would say skip this one!

This foundation is absolutely awesome. It has a natural-matte finish, which is great for combo skin that doesn't want to look overly done. The coverage is light to medium if you build it. The lasting power is excellent (around on 15 hours on my pre-accutane oily skin). It doesn't look exactly the same as you applied it after those hours, but this is the best I've found so far. It also didn't break me out and it didn't cling too bad to any occasional flakes. As far as how much you get, I have used around a dime sized amount for all over the face and one bottle lasted me for about 10 months :) Overall, I would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a long-lasting foundation that doesn't look as heavy as the original DW.

I actually like this foundation. I have combination skin with very oily and shiny T-zone and this stuff just stays in place, as they said. It has more matt than natural finish, controls oil (I have to re-powder after 4-6 hours, but for me totally worth). I think it's more medium coverage, which I prefer. I use EL double wear, too and must say, that for me this foundation is BETTER than original EL double wear (it settled in my pores after few hours, but still GREAT foundation which I love, too). In comparison with EL double wear, this light version has pretty thick consistency (I expected more liquid consistency and was pretty surprised :D) and you have to work fast when applying this. I tried many foundations, but for me this is ONE OF THE BEST. Totally suggest.

My HG foundation. I've tried Clinique, Lancôme, The Body Shop, and Dior, and this stuff is so much better. I don't even look around at makeup counters anymore, because I know I already found the one that will work for me all year long perfectly.

ONLY cons are the price (which, given the quality and overall perfection, I don't mind paying), and the packaging. I travel a lot, and sometimes when I get off the plane, I open the lid and the foundation just pours out. SO annoying, and SUCH a waste of product. Also, as clean and tidy as I try to be, the inside of the lid is always messy. They really should fix this, maybe repackage so that it'll include a pump?

The color selection is quite limited, but fortunately, intensity 2.0 suits me perfectly. This foundation is liquid and it doesn't streak when you apply. It covers pores flawlessly. I don't pick up any scent, which is good. It feels very light on your face, so it's not like a mask, just like your own skin- improved. The coverage is medium/light, but good enough for my face that I don't need to wear a concealer. I don't think you can build up the coverage, though. Every. Single. Day. that I wear this I get compliments on my skin. (And those days when I don't wear foundation, zero comments. sigh.)

And BOY does it last! I've had 32 hour long days (what with work, airplane flight, and night out) and it STAYS PUT. I kid you not. I have to reapply my eye makeup and blush, but my foundation looks perfect, whatever I'm doing. This may be a problem for girls who use too gentle or ineffective makeup removers/face cleansers, because I imagine it's hard to wipe off. Leaving makeup for so long may cause acne, but it's just a matter of making sure that your face is really clean when you're done washing it. I just use Basis facial cleanser (Less than $10 at any drugstore) and it comes off, and I haven't had any problems with acne or clogged pores from this foundation.

I can't rave enough about this product. If you're thinking of purchasing this, just head to a makeup counter and have them try it on your skin. You will be amazed.

This is probably my favourite foundation out of the *many* I have tried. I will try break it down to make this easy to read. Keep in mind that I have very pale (lighter than NC15) combination oily/dry skin with mild acne.

Coverage: Medium-full (buildable)

Finish: Semi-matte

Long-wearing: Extremely! One of the very few foundations that will actually last on my skin without sliding off/becoming patchy throughout the day. I wear my foundations for around 12 hours a day, so I need something that will last!

Shades: This is the disappointing part, there are very few shades. #1 is wayy to dark and orange on me, so I have to mix it with a white foundation (Illamasqua Skin Base), which takes longer.

Packaging etc: I quite like the squeezy tube, it is very sanitary and it's easy to control how much comes out.

I started using Double Wear years ago in the regular foundation and loved the staying power and the perfect match for my skin that I found in Ecru. That was a full coverage foundation on me though, and so I was happy to try a similar foundation in a lighter formula. I still get good coverage with this lighter formula - it is a better thickness for me at this point and I actually don't think that I will go back to the regular formula.

It stays great on my very oily skin. Double Wear has been the best for me in staying power. I also use a sunscreen underneath that has mattifying properties.

The lippie off is for the color selection. I guess it's easier to just go with Intensities rather than a full range of colors, but I really wish that the colors in this line reflected the other line. Intensity 1 is a good tone on my skin but is too light. Intensity 2 is just a little dark on my skin and has more of an orange hint. The way I have managed this is to mix Intensity 1 with Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer in Nude - basically half and half. It's quick and easy - I just squirt one small drop on each on my finger and apply/blend. The tinted moisturizer is certainly lightning up the foundation formula even more, and that is fine with me with my current decent skin condition.

I have sensitive dry/combination, hormonal / post-Yasmin acne prone skin. This fantastic product is a life saver on the days where I need a light foundation that has extra staying power and enough coverage to cover those red spots and uneven skin.

PROS: light weight, stays on the longest out of all my foundations; does not break my hypo-sensitive, acne reactive skin out; simple packaging (travel friendly - being light weight in a upside down squeeze plastic tube); has SPF 10 (it's something); absorbs well into the skin, spreads well, consistency is thick but not in the drying way and gives great coverage for a "light"product. I usually dust over with a loose powder. Stays on even longer if I use a press powder. At AUD $50 per tube, I find the price reasonable for what's on offer.

CONS: it's too drying on my skin to use as an every day foundation. I usually use a hydrating mask at night after a day of wearing this foundation to get my skin back into balance.

I have been searching for years for my HG foundation and after a full year of use, this is it. I have combination skin that gets extremely oily on my forehead only. Not only does DWL stay in place but it also is the only foundation that photographs well (I never need photoshop anymore!). Another note on the staying power: I apply this for work or class at around 8 am and find that even if I'm going out later that night, I DONT NEED TO REAPPLY!! Amazing.

I should've tried this at the store before ordering. I read many reviews that this has pinkish undertone and that's what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I didn't see the pink undertones when I applied this on. Even out of the bottle, it has an orangish color. Very disappointing.
At first, the makeup looked flawless on me despite the color mismatch. But when I checked my skin after 2 hours of work, I was annoyed. This settled into my pores, lines, and managed to bunch up at my temples...kind of like Revlon's Colorstay does on me.
For the price, I expected a bit more. This $36 foundation works like something I can buy for $10 at drugstore.
Also, I noticed some people saying it's unscented. Mine was quite fragrant. Perhaps they changed the formula but I have yet to find an unfragranced Estee Lauder product.
Overall, this is the first foundation I'll be returning. Complete disappointment all around.

I wore ELDW for years in Shell. However, after undergoing a hysterectomy last year, my skin changed. The ELDW classic formula became drying, and emphasixed my fine lines. Previously, I had severly oily skin. But as you get older, your skin changes...especially when you go through menapause So, to the EL coounter I went to discover ELDW Light. I am a NC20, and level 1 is perfect. The coverage is buildable, and it wears all day & night! Another plus, is this makeup is photogenic, unlike to old DW. I found a HG again! YAY EL!

This is like a watered down version of the DW original. I suggest to buy the original DW, mix it with your favorite moisturizer and make DW light. Then use original DW to conceal. Color match is horrible too. Very cool/pink tones. Not enough for us warm-toned ladies. I felt like I was at the drugstore with all these pink toned selections. :(
