I love this razor too. It has a moisturizing strip, but it isn't so moisturizing that it gets in the way of a good close shave. My daughter is 11 and cut herself really bad shaving with a disposable razor she found in the back of the cabinet even though she wasn't allowed to shave yet, and I decided it was time to buy her a razor that would not cut her. This is not the one I bought her. I bought her the Venus Spa Breeze because it is unbelievably moisturizing and a person can't cut themselves with it. So if you are inexperienced like my little girl, then that would be the razor for you. But I feel that heavy moisturizing strip on the Spa razor is a bit too much for normal people like me. People like me who started shaving with single blades, and then double blades, and then triple blades, can handle the Venus Embrace just fine. Also I used my husband's vibrating green Mp3 Gilette razor (with my Embrace blade of course) over the weekend when we were out of town and it was an amazingly close shave so I recommend using that as well. My husband has used the orangs Gilette fusion razor and doesn't like that or its blades half as much as this green one.

Absolutely my fav razor in the world! I use it with Skintimate Skin Therapy Baby Soft shave gel and it is the best shave I have ever gotten. Super smooth, super close and no nicks, cuts or razor burn. Shaving isn't to much of a chore for me, with this razor I don't have to double the shave, I usually shave my legs and underarms twice for the close shave, but not anymore :)) Buy it!! Shower pod is the best thing since sliced bread! Doesn't get much water in it, holds the razor and the blades perfectly!

My first razor =)
Really good at removing hair, a REALLY close shave. My legs feel weird after because it feels so smooth. Too bad the head is too huge to use on anywhere other than arms and legs (they should've thought of that before calling it bikini-approved, how idiotic). Had to use it at least every 2 days to stop the hair from coming back though. Dispite the fact that it removes hair all with one light sweep the blade gets dull after a while (well, what do you expect?) so I try not to use it unless I'm dressing up to impress because it'll drain my pockets if I keep on buying refills all the time.
As I said, it gives a real close shave so you have to slop on lotion after or else you get rash. If your skin is sensitive it'll itch like crazy (once again, why is this bikini-approved?). I borrowed my sister's Schick quattro for underarms and it was awesome. I could even put on deoderant straight after (honest!) and it removed all the hair though it started to grow back by the next day. Maybe I'll switch, I don't use this much anyway.

I seem to be in the minority here but these razors are the biggest waste of money ever, in my opinion. The Venus Embrace razors don't leave my legs dry, but they don't give a very close shave. My boyfriend actually noticed and teased me for having skipped shaving.. which I hadn't. Especially on my knees.. somehow, no matter how many times I swipe this razor over my knees.. they do not get the hair off there, at all, not even a little. I don't have this problem with other razors. I think it must be the way my hair grows and the fact that the five blades are packed so closely together, unlike with a 3 blade razor they are a little further apart. I actually get a closer shave with the regular Venus than with these - though I'm not thrilled with them either. And yes, they are way too bulky to shave bikini area, so even if they gave a nice shave, I would hate the hassle of having to stock and keep two separate razors in my shower. It sounds good on paper and obviously is working for many, but it doesn't work for me.

I use the Gillette Mach 3 (not generic, not disposable). These razors are the best ever created in my opinion. I highly encourage you to try them. Venus seems good next to crappier razors but next to the Mach 3 it seems awful.

I love this razor! It leaves me feeling silky smooth and really shaves close to the surface. It's really pricey though but I can use the razor for a couple of months without it getting dull at all! :D Venus makes my favorite razors EVER and this one definitely doesn't disappoint!

In general, I'm not a hairy person (Asian gal...so yeah..lol) so I probably shouldnt have invested $$$ for a 5 blade razor (I'm a sucker for commericals). It is sharp and removes hair in one swipe.

It is great for shaving legs and underarms but the bikini area, I opt for my trusty 3 blade disposable simply because the Embrace is too bulky to run through my bikini line.

Overall, a good razor but I wouldnt buy it again, especially with refills being $$$. I'm sure this razor is great for other girls but personally, it wasn't worth it for me.

I couldn't believe the difference a razor could make. I am the type with pale skin and dark, coarse hair that shows up under the surface even before you can shave it off. The hair/stubble comes back fast. This razor gives me such a smooth and soft feeling, and it lasts all day. I also love how wide the blade is, because I can shave under my arms in literally two swipes. The razor doesn't irritate at all, except perhaps if you use it for a few days too many (I never know how many shaves I should try to make one cartridge last). For the most part, this has not only eliminated any razor burn or uncomfortable bumps/rashes, but also just does a great job. I'm taking off one lippie because of the cost however. I think it is insane to pay $30 for 8 cartridges but I do it again and again because this thing has seriously improved my quality of life!

As a hard-core Gillette Mach 3 fan, I can no longer afford them as they are pricey. So I picked the Venus embrace as an alternative. I wasn't expecting much, but after using it, I was really impressed on how soft and smooth my legs were. These babies have five blades, as if four wasn't enough. But they do make a difference. A little bulky for underarms, but no big deal. Would definitely buy again.

Love, love, love this razor!! Easy to use, shaves closely and I don't have to shave the same spot over and over again. I use the Venus Embrace blades with my Venus Vibrance handle. A perfect combination! The blades are a tad costy, but it's money well spent. If only I didn't have to shave so often :-(

I first received Venus Embrace as a sample when I bought some bikinis from Bikini Village a year ago. I have always wanted to try it because the ads made it seem so promising, with the moisture ribbon, 5 blades, etc. etc.! I used ordinary shower gel because I think shave gels are totally unnecessary. I instantly got smoother looking and super soft legs when I got out of the shower! I bought a full set since the blades went dull and this is still my favourite razor so far! It's about time for me to buy Embrace replacements the 3rd time :)

Made my legs feel smoother straight away.Very easy to use.I would defenatley reccomend it to any girls/women who have trouble getting tricky parts of there legs. The price was quite expensive but it is worth it and it does give you the 5 star legs it says it would. you straight away will feel more confident it really helps.

[HG RAZOR.]

After using the completely useless Venus Breeze with the gel strips ripped off (see my other review on why this razor is so terrible) I decided it was time for a new razor. After considering the Schick Quattro, I ended up buying this.

I was very excited and this razor is the BEST I've ever used, doesn't disappoint. The aloe strips really help to get a smooth shave, the 5 blades are great (Breeze had 3) and get all the hairs - I didn't even need to go over more than once or twice, and usually with a new razor head I'm scared to cut myself because the blades are so sharp but that wasn't a problem at all with the Embrace! Just rinse the hairs out with warm water and it's as good as new.

Plus it comes with this cute little 'shower pod', you stick it to a wall in your bathroom and just hang your razor on it. And when you need to replace the blades - easy, just pop the pod open and grab a new one.

Overall I'm very impressed! Every girl needs one of these.

I used both the original Venus and Venus Divine for years, and then tried the Embrace to see if the extra blade made any difference in the quality of shave...and it didn't! I finally got sick and tired of the high cost of the replacement blades. IMO the Venus razors are not worth their price. The blades go dull too quickly! So, I decided to try Gillettes Daisy Pivot disposable razors, and I actually prefer them to all 3 versions of the Venus!!! I get a lot less irritation when shaving my bikini line, and just as smooth of a shave for a fraction of the cost. I will never re-purchase, I will stick to my Daisy's!

aarrgh, can i give this a 0?? this by far is the worst razor ive ever used and that includes those cheap pink disposable ones that come in 10/pack. no matter how many times i go thru my legs, i still have some stubbles left. AND because of that my skin feels raw and itchy even after i apply lotion (and applying lotion stings my skin). i bought a pack with 2 cartridges and after giving up on the first (about 4 uses), i gave the new one to my SIL and asked her if it would work better for her: it didnt. she said she felt stubbles too after her shower. dont waste your money on this one.

Okay, after reading the reviews on here I'm glad I'm not crazy! I do not like this razor, it doesn't give me a close shave at all. I have a lot of stubble the next day like I never shaved at all, which is weird because you would think 5 blades would give you the closest shave you can get but not so with the Embrace. And, the refill blades are too expensive, $14 for a 4 pack of razors? C'mon. Like the person below me said also, it's like the blades dull faster on this razor as well. Anyway, I think I'll be going back to my Shick Quattro from now on.

After using this for a really long time (because I'm too lazy to go and buy myself a new razor), I'm giving up on it. I didn't get a close shave at all, and the blades got dull insanely quickly. Idk if it's just me, but it made a weird noise while I was shaving... Overall, it's just too expensive for a poor product.

I don't really like this. It doesn't give me a close shave esp down there area....the hair seems to grow back so fast everywhere, just like regular disposable razor. It irritates and give me red bumps. Actually disposable one gives me a closer shave and easier to shave in diff angles. I also prefer the old version of Venus, 3 blades one. The tiny shower box sux, too. The old one attach properly and never falls down on my bath tub. I just keep the shower box inside the cabinet.
