I love this quad, very wearable. The colours are not as sheer as I expected based on what has been said about it and I don't find any of them hard to work with at all. I can see myself getting alot of use out of this because it's suitable for work or I can really layer on the colour to make it more intense for the evening. I have to admit, I have no idea what to do with the blue/teal colour, I guess I'll just ignore it for now, lol. I'm really glad I bought it though, I'm not a quad collector but I really like the convenience of having the colours all together and coordinating and this one is really pretty and suits my PPP NW20 skin.

I was hesitant to buy this quad based on the online pics I was seeing, but really you have to see it in person to appreciate it. The colors in this quad are really nice! :) I especially love gateaux and almond icing! the pink flecks in blue sugar are unique as well. Definately give this quad a peek the next time you are at the MAC counter! :)

I adore this quad! I too collect MAC e/s, and I would snap this baby up in a heartbeat! Very cute and wearable.

Almond Icing is very much like Vex, however, I like this one better! The extra pink in it gives it some oomph! I wore Vex today and put almond icing on one eye to compare, and while similar, they are distinguishable.

Gateaux - a little boring, but a nice standard pale pinky peach shade.

Sugar Blue - This has to be my favorite blue, ever, and I have tons. There is the velvet sparkly thing going on, with little pink and silver microglitters. I lovelovelove it.

Demi Sweet - This one will look awesome with stars and rockets or lavendar sky, a little more purple than I was hoping, but still a nice compliment to almond icing.

Overall, yes, I am a little disappointed due to the hype, but it's still a nice addition to my MAC collection!

(Please click on 'Continued' at the bottom to see the paragraphed version of review.) Hmm...I don't regret buying this quad (I collect MAC shadows), but it's not my favorite, either. The colors are quite a bit different than they look in the promo pics. I thought the quad would be lighter, brighter and a bit more pastel because of the pics. In real life, the colors are a bit deeper, more muted & more complex. I'll describe each below:Almond Icing (frost)--This looks VERY close to Vex e/s. It's a bit lighter than Vex, slightly less green and has more of the pink pearly particles in it.Gateaux (frost)--Not a very unique color, in my opinion. It's not as frosty as Pink Freeze, but fairly close in color (just a bit darker.) It's really close to 'Pale Out' from one of the 2005 Holiday palettes. Doesn't stand out from the thousands of pale, frosty pinks available out there.Sugar Blue (velvet)--Chalky! There I said it. I've never called a MAC shadow chalky, because out of the 170+ that I own, I haven't come across any truly chalky ones. Well, my streak has broken. The texture really sucks. There is a lot of filler & particulate matter in this one that just wants to roll around on the skin and make a dusty mess (even with a good base, as I always use.) Applies matte, dry-looking and kind of blah. The color itself is gorgeous, at least in the pan... It looks as if it would apply shimmery, but it doesn't! It looks complex in the pan the same way Slip Pink(LE) & Iris Print(LE) did. It's a slightly muted, medium teal with pink shimmer/pearl. Looks like a lighter version of Zonk Bleu as far as the teal, but goes on totally different. Can't really detect the pink shimmer/pearl on the skin. Save this color for the outer 'V' or crease, as it sucks on the lids.Demi-Sweet (satin)--Looks really pretty in the pan, but this violet can easily cross over into 'bruise' or 'black eye' territory. It's a muted medium-deep violet/plum with a hint of grey undertones. It reflects a bit of bluish-silver, but is not duochrome at all.In my opinion, this quad could be pretty on medium/tan skin. It may make lighter skins look bruised or washed-out, and may be chalky on dark skin. Overall, I'm not too thrilled with this quad.
