Ok so I bought this thinking OK- what am I missing. Apparently Im missing nothing this didn't really do anything for me either especially not for the amount that I paid for so I took it back and exchanged it for the Olay brush that was the amount of tax i basically spent on the MIA. I also had a coupon from ULTA. If you are planning to buy the MIA I would highly suggest purchising the OLAy brush before hand. It completely changed my skin and cleaned my skin deep down. I had minor breakouts with it and kept using it on a daily basis and my face totally cleared up

This has honestly made my acne and skin so much better since i've started using it, my skin is SO much softer/smoother and my moisturizer gets absorbed way faster and nicer into my skin (it also removes makeup! I remember when i first used it, i took off my foundation as usual and then used the mia, only to find I still had A LOT of makeup on my face...). I also have found that my face isn't as oily as it usually is since i've started using my Clarisonic Mia.Although it's pricey I definitely recommend this product!! I have no regrets and i've been using it for almost a year now. The only bad thing is that you might need to buy new brushes when they start to look worn out, but thats not that bad.

My vote: HYPE
So, my comparison is vs. the battery operated Olay brush which I used for one year. Batteries replaced once with 4-5x weekly use. I used Olay thinking if I use it consistently for a year, and didn't dump it in a drawer of forgotten hauls, I can justify an 'upgrade'.
Well, the upgrade is a downgrade in my skin care.
Here's why. The movement of Mia's brush is actually a vibration that's unnerving on it's own compared to the smooth circular motion of Olay's brush. I can do without vibrating my facial nerves before rest/bed and sure as heck, not first thing in the morning.

Then, my nose pores on Olay were clean, smooth and invisible, now after a year of the goodness, (get ready for tmi) 2 days with Mia, (oily) pores are noticeably visible - clogged, black, large and needing more makeup to conceal them. My 'natural' makeup kick this summer is over until Olay can straighten this flub out - which I'm starting again as soon as I can get new replacement heads. Manual scrubs til then.

My skin wasn't bad, thanks to Olay brush and good skin reggie this past year and Mia hasn't caused problems *but* she certainly hasn't maintained my good skin and invisible pores *because* Mia's vibration on the nose is intolerable, hence pores not cleaned. Gross.

I'm disappointed, as using Mia to clean my face, then another product to clean my nose is not an option I'm willing to entertain - not at approx $90usd. Back to drugstore.com

I am not affiliated with Olay and don't use any other Olay products.
FYI, nightly retin-a, and twice daily DYI 'serum' (tea tree/aloe/shea+)...and the olay brush:) with a variety of cleansers

I've only been using my Mia for a couple weeks and I have never in my life had such great results. My skin has made a dramatic improvement (is really starting to clear up) which I'm pretty impressed with since I havn't had clear skin since before puberty.

My Mia came with the sensitive brush head which I wasn't too impressed with. I felt like I needed something more, so after two weeks I bought the deep pore brush. I'm very happy with the change I made and the stronger brush has made a big difference. I'll use my Mia twice a day (morning and night) and so far have not experienced any irritation. I think my skin in general is pretty tough and not at all sensitive.

For those of you who arn't impressed with the Mia, I strongly suggest you try a different brush.

If anyone is curious I'm currently using the Giovanni D:tox Purifying Facial Cleanser with the Mia. I think the bush is so good that it probably wouldn't even matter what cleanser I'm using (well to an extent).

Mia is my one HG beauty item which I don't give out often. Don't let the price throw you off. I know mine is the best purchase I've ever made and I think everyone with Acne prone skin should have one in their bathroom.

Buying this is the best thing I have ever done for my skin. It was expensive, but after seeing how great it is, I would gladly pay triple the price. My face has never looked so radiant, and I haven't had a blemish in months. The money I save on foundation is amazing, I barely wear it anymore! Do yourself a favor and take the plunge!

Clarisonic Mia....I think its nothing more than a fancy rip off. I have normal skin with small pores and very minor acne. I use Benzamycin( benzoyl peroxide and erithromycin) at night for any blemishes. I wanted pimples underneath skin gone (on forehead and some on cheeks) and for blackheads because those are my favorite to pick. I don't take the time to exfoliate so I thought the Mia would be perfect for that purpose. I made a visit to Clarisonic's site a few times before ordering. Originally, I was planning on getting the Clarisonic Classic b/c it has a charging cradle but I ended up going with the Mia. Not to mention I couldn't justify spending $195 on one product. Upon arrival, I followed the directions to a T. I wet my face to begin, then applied cleanser ( I use Mary Kay). Afterwards, I usually wipe my face down with a warm washcloth to make sure all residue is gone. Bottom line: Not impressed, skin has stayed the same. Knock on wood, I haven't seen any out of this world breakouts so that's a plus or I would absolutely be returning it. The "sonic" part is such b.s. Its just a gimmick to make you think your skin is getting cleaner. All it does is vibrate and make noise. After first use, I looked at the brush head and its stained from removing my foundation. It makes it look dirty. I wish Clarisonic could have made a stain resistant brush head.

The Mia is $175CAD, ridiculously expensive compared to in the US, I used my SDM points so paid half the price but would gladly buy this product again. I purchased the white color that comes with the sensitive skin brush.
my skin:36 years old, asian, sensitive, acne prone, clogged pores, red scars from cystic acne, pox marks from cystic acne, hormonal breakouts, whiteheads, oily by midmorning, needs blotting throughout the day, freckles from the sun, not alot of wrinkles, sallow looking.
how I use the Mia: in the evening I always use an oil cleanser b/c that's the only thing I've found that removes sunscreen effectively, I've started using the Mia the way most people suggest, once a day, felt that my skin is so oily that it could probably tolerate the increase to 2x a day, so after using it 4 days in the PM I switched to using it 2x a day, sometimes I get overzealous & use longer than 1 minute:p I'll go for an extra 20-30seconds.
what I've noticed:purging definately happened during week one, cystic pimples came to head alot faster but the red scarring also lightened alot quicker, skin is alot tighter tooking, pores are definately smaller around the nose/cheek area, skin is lighter/brighter/fresh looking, with continued use skin is starting to flake a little bit which is surprising b/c I thought the device is supposed to take care of the flaking but perhaps its drying out my skin b/c I've also noticed my skin is tighter/drier after washing, less "drenched in oil" look throughout the day, still noticing blackheads on my nose although the pores filled w/ blackheads are noticably smaller, also still noticing clogged pores beside my nose/beside the cheek area.
note: you're probably not supposed to do this....but b/c I found I could not get the brush close enough to the sides of the nose/cheek area where most of the clogging is occuring...I popped the middle brush out & just used the middle brush, I found this is working well for me b/c now I can concentrate on the bridge, nose, sides of nose/cheek area where the bigger brush would not reach.
plans: I'm going to continue using this for a month then might try the deep cleansing or acne brush.

Love this! I only use it 3-4 times per week and I only ever use the delicate or acne brush heads to avoid over-exfoliation. I also use the MIA on my upper back to prevent breakouts and deal with any dry skin, and it works fabulously. I bought the plain old original Mia because beeping timers, variable scrub settings and other frills were unnecessary- I just want straightforward cleaning. To sanitize the brush head I soak the brush head in a shallow dish of hydrogen peroxide (bristle side down) every so often. I purchased my Mia from Skinstore during one of their 20% off sales, and am very happy with the purchase overall. When/if this Mia dies, I will definitely repurchase another.

I have combination, prone-to-breakout skin. Scars takes a long time to heal on their own, and generally, my skin needs help sloughing away dead surface skin. I would recommend this brush to everyone to get a truly deep clean.

I was first intrigued when I switched to a sonic toothbrush and I noticed how much cleaner my mouth was after brushing. I knew that the same technology would be great for my skin and I wasn't disappointed. What's great about having this tool is that you can thoroughly clean your skin without the need for abrasive cleansers or lots of massaging. The brush just makes it so quick and easy. Just use any basic cleanser, and run the brush around your face in circular motions for the allotted time and its as simple as that.

I don't get as many pimples as I used to and when I do they are small and go away a lot quicker than before. They don't get inflamed or irritated. I don't even wear foundation anymore because of the improvement in my skin.

I use this once a day at night to make sure I get all makeup and dirt off my face. The brush is gentle and you can use it in the shower. Its a pleasure to use - like getting a mini facial everytime. I've used facial brushes in the past, and I don't think the results are comparable. There is just no way you can achieve the same results by hand. Most of us will probably have those nights when we are too lazy to do a thorough wash by hand (i.e. with a brush), but the Clarisonic makes it so easy there are no excuses for skipping a wash. Highly recommended.
