I use moisturizer/sunscreen underneath and while I'm getting dressed use a damp sponge to apply this foundation. It's highly pigmented so a little goes a long way (which means the foundation will last!).
After having tried LM moisturizing, CK, SK, Stila, Agnes, Bobbi Brown, etc. I can seriously say without a doubt that this gives me a flawless look. I know others have said that they've found it to have a makeup-ey feel. I didn't find that to be the case since I used the damp sponge. And, everyone has complimented me on my great complexion. And, it looks natural on me. I highly recommend you to give this a try. I'm a MAC NC35 by the way and this seems to blend into my skin perfectly! Keeper! The only drawback is the limited color selections. The pump, however, is great!

Perfect texture and coverage. I received half a bottle of this from a lovely swapper--miispiggie, who is such a sweetie! This provides medium coverage which can be easily layered to almost full coverage onto any trouble spots. Somehow, i still retain the natural look. It does not separate/sit on extra oily areas of my face at the end of the day, while giving me a soft matte look. On my face, this doesn't feel overly greasy to the touch like BB moisture rich, but it doesn't dry my skin out either. The thing i love most is that this foundation smoothes my flaky areas unlike any other oil-free foundations that i've tried and it feels weightless on! (UPDATE: i've found that MUFE's foundations don't accentuate dryness either) I thought i'd found my holy grail, but unfortunately this foundation is NOT sage safe. But anyway, i love this enough to keep using it until it starts breaking me out. :-) UPDATE: this foundation might be a little too drying for me. Still good for my flakies but i dunno, just slightly drying after i take it off. But it could be because i'm using BHA 1% with it. Also, I think it's starting to break me out! Even more bad ingredients than the moisturizing version.

I really like this foundation. The shades are very good and most are on the neutral/yellow side. I use Vanilla Beige and Sunny beige, depending on the time of the year. The coverage is medium, but can be sheerer if you mix it with water (this is what I do and it also wastes less). I also use a damp foundation sponge to apply the foundation. The finish is nice, but doesn't hold too well on my oily skin- but then again nothing really does.
I like the pump bottle because it is sanitary, but don't like how it is difficult to get to the foundation as it is running out. Overall, I think this foundation is a good investment considering how difficult it is for me to find a decent shade of foundation. All the drugstore foundations are too orange or pink for me and I feel Laura Mercier has the best shades.

This foundation is really pretty good. I can feel my face is less oiler after the day, and the color tones looks real natural on me! One of my fav fdn so far

I'm one of those who love this foundation as it gives a good medium coverage. It's builable if you prefer full coverage. It comes in a convenient bottle with a pump.
This is a foundation that I can use whether I have bad skin days. I can use this foundation during those days when I wish to cover scars or blemish. I love the consistency and it not over-drying for an oil-free foundation. I have combination/dry skin. It controls my oily T-zone but does not accentuate my dry area near to the sides of my cheeks and jaws. My face do shines after 3-4 hrs since the place I live are quite sunny. But not overly oily. I just blot once/twice a day. The only thing I am uncertain is if the foundation melts/slips as I perspired when I out at the street where there is no air-conditioning as I always wipes any perspiration on my face.
For those who felt that it's mask-like, try using a damp sponge to blend. You can try making the coverage sheer slightly by layering the foundation lesser with a damp sponge.
However, if you are looking for a foundation that feel like 'you are completely not wearing any foundation', then this is not a product for you.
The only cons is that it's pricey! And this is the one reason that I will still be looking for other foundation as a replacement of this product.

This foundation came out very chalky and matte. I didn't mind it, and wanted so much to like it, but not enough to keep it for $38. I went back to my Bobbi Brown Moisturizing (at the time). Now I'm using Estee Lauder So Ingenious and so far so good. I also agree with whoever said a good foundation shouldn't need a primer. They're just out to make money!

Great packaging - love how it comes with a little pump so everything stays sterile...and it does cover skin imperfections well...BUT this stuff definitely emphasized flakies and I had to mix it with my moisturizer to make it go on smoothly. This one does the job, but with all the choices out there, why settle for a foundation that's not perfect? There are better ones out there!

InStyle magazine raves about this line so much that I made an appointment for a makeover. I liked the foundation but it didn't really stand out from the other brands that I like (Stila, LORAC, among others). The quality of the products did not seem to match the price.

I've been using this product for a very long time and i think it's definitley one of the best foundations out there, it feels very light, and a little really goes a long way. it is highly pigmented therefore gives excellent coverage, The price is totally worth it and it lasts a really long time. You do need to blend it in well, an blend quickly, there's an awesome color selection, warm ivory is such a perfect match for me! I have combo-oily skin and it doesn't cake up, it covers up my large pores and looks completely natural in the process!! this is definitely my HG!!!

PROS: lots of yellow-based color choices, full coverage possible; CONS: hard to blend; COMMENTS: I tried many methods of applying this (with water, without water, with sponge, with brush, with fingers, etc) and I could not get this to look natural

I was expecting a miracle and this product fell way short of it. It had marginal staying power and did not do a very good job of fighting the oilies. Ya know, when you hear that celebs are using the product...you expect results and this one just did NOT deliver!

This has been my staple "real" foundation for a few years. I always hope to find something better, but I always go back to this one. Not necessarily because I love it, because it certainly is not a perfect foundation; I just have yet to find something that works better for me. I apply it sheerly with a damp wedge sponge. The damp-sponge method makes a difference in how natural the coverage is...it can go on rather thickly if a damp sponge is not used. I am fair (MAC NC20, Stila B) and I use the shade "Blush Ivory".

I really wanted to like this foundation considering the price I paid. While I thought the coverage was adequate, I thought the colour was simply unforgivable. After a couple hours wear, it turned my complexion grey. Grey!! I really gave it a good go, always dull and grey...need I say more.

This stuff is way too heavy and thick for my liking. I've used it exactly once, and that's it - I hate the mask-like appearance that it creates.
One of my biggest regrets is that I was talked into buying it in the first place by the MA.

I got this in Sunny Beige at Saks, and let me just go on a little rant about that place and the SA who lost interest the minute I didn't let her talk me into buying the primer and the fact that the best she could muster when asked to tell me a little about the foundation was "It's very nice, it's excellent." Shopping online from now on.
The color is fairly neutral, a bit on the yellow side. The texture is, well, foundation-like, on your fingers but in my experience - the minute I put it on my face it lost all slip. This stuff was really difficult to spread, let alone blend. (So that's why they try to sell you the primer every time ...) I tried various moisturizers underneath with no significant difference in blendability. Once I got it blended, with sponge, fingers, what have you, it provided an almost dewy finish, disappeared into the skin and lasted well, but all the necessary blending and rubbing made me wonder what I was doing to the sunscreen underneath (a must, since this foundation has none).
All in all, this was not worth $38 and I returned it to Saks almost taking the SA's head off when she tried to patronize me about not having bought the primer. A good foundation shouldn't need a primer! My face is not a wall. And I've seen better packaging for half the price (Cargo, for example).

This is a really nice foundation which is good for oily skin. It provides a heavier coverage and can be used to produce a flawless look, imo. The only problem is that it feels a bit too heavy, almost mask-like to me. I don't wear this on a daily basis, but for an evening out, it's perfect.

I just bought this foundation after trying out the Blush Ivory sample. Oddly enough it was perfect for my Mac NC20 skin even though I thought it looked a bit pink based in the bottle. Leaves a flawless smooth finish for those days when you need to look 'perfect', excellent coverage and the colour match was so good that I didn't have to wear it all over my face.I haven't tried it with a damp sponge yet but will to test out some sheerer coverage. I rated it a 4 just because of the price, it was much more than I was used to paying for a foundation, but so far, well worth it.

This foundation is touted as being very buildable. Well, that is not true. I could not get full coverage out of this no matter how many layers I applied (I have some pigmentation that I need to cover) and when I did layer, it felt sticky.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this already. This foundation is perfect for really achieving a polished look. One has to take a little time and care in doing so, but it goes on looking beautiful. The shades are also not too yellow - I wear Blush Ivory and find it about the same intensity as Stila B but without the overly yellow cast. This isn't a foundation you can just slap on, so I don't use it every day. It is easier for me now to just cover problem spots with my Cle de Peau concealer and call it a day. But if I want a really polished look, this is the stuff.
My only complaint is that it can get creasy if you don't apply powder over it evenly, and achieve the right balance of moisture on your skin before applying.
At 38 it is pricey but I still haven't finished my bottle. Would purchase again.

Oil free foundation is the BEST foundation I've ever used. Color match is perfect, and the foundation lasts on my sensitive yet combination skin. This definitely gives me the flawless face! Worth every penny and then some!!!!!
