I bought a jar of organic extra virgin coconut oil from iherb.com. Love them, great quality product, lowest price ever, cheap and fast shipping. I used it on my body skin. It was just a little bit greasy but super moisturizer. I couldn't stop touching my leg. After a few uses, I didn't feel the greasiness anymore and my skin didn't feel that amazingly soft and smooth like before. I thought it stopped working after a while, like everything else did to my skin( and my acne, another story). Then I stopped using it for one day and used Vaseline lotion instead. Boy I was wrong, the moment right after I put it on, my skin feel rough and dry, and sticky, even itchy. I came back to coconut oil and everything was fine. Never let everthing but this stuff touch my skin again.

i've used the virgin coconut oil from the Philippines and it does great on my face, body and hair!
coconut gave me a soft, hydrated, glow skin that my dry, sensitive skin changed.
coconut also gave me a shiny, soft, split ends free hair that my damaged hair really changed.
i love coconut oil for its fatty acids that are really good for skin and hair with its organic properties.
i wont stop using this on my hair and skin! love, love, love it

Coconut Oil is quickly becoming my "goto" product.

I use it in my hair before I wash it(usually with shikakai powder, occasionally shampoo) and after for shine and protection. I also mix it in with conditioners to make them a "deeper" conditioner or to make a conditioner a better leave-in.

I've also begun using it as a pre-shower massage oil to loosen dry skin, in shower scrub mixed with sugar or sea salt, and post shower moisturizer. My skin is super dry(especially my extremities), so it's enough on my torso but I still have to either mix it with a lotion for the extremities, or I layer - coconut oil first, then some lotion afterwards. I'm considering trying it on my face but am a little scared because I'm acne prone and so far, olive oil and African Shea Butter Soap(the real kind that looks like crumbled up oatmeal cookies) are working well.

I used to use all kinds of products for hair and skin, but I'm *finally* starting to whittle down my HG products based on what I use the most and helps to actually IMPROVE my hair and skin. So far, coconut oil is the BEST.

And then there's the scent.......
Ahhhhhhh... Yummy, yummy coconut. :-)

Will repurchase again and again.

I love coconut oil. It is a special treat for my skin and hair. I don’t put it on every night; rather I use it a weekly treatment. It absorbs really fast and surprisingly it is not oily. It makes my skin soft and supple. I was a little disappointed that it is not highly fragranced as I hoped, but it does have a faint coconut smell. I use extra virgin kind (Nutiva brand). The jar will last me a long time as a little goes a long way. I put it all over my body and on my hair before I wash it. Did not try it on my face yet as I’m afraid it will be too rich or it might break me out, but judging by reviews this is unlikely to happen. Will always keep this in stock.

I have thick, wavy, color treated hair. CO makes it shiny and soft, and my natural waves look beachy and tousled, not sloppy. Smell fades quickly ( in a good way). My colo looks brighter.

I had a patch of dry, rough red skin that nothing would shift. I put some CO on it and, after a year of ineffective treatment, it's gone.

Yay!! I have unbelievably dry skin, I mean an hour or so after putting on lotion or cream my skin is dry. :( This stuff really seems to help! I put it on in the morning after I dry brush and then at night before I go to sleep. My skin has never felt softer!! Another plus is that you smell like a coconut macaroon all day!! it absorbs rather quickly and by the time I put on my clothes for the day I'm no longer greasy. The only downside I have found is the packaging, so I melted it and poured it into a bottle I can better manage rather than a big old drum!

What a brilliant product! I only regret not discovering it sooner. This surpasses all other oils I've used for skincare. Sweet almond oil is not moisturising enough and I find the scent of olive oil unpleasant. Sunflower seed oil is quite nice, but it has done nothing to improve my skin in the long term. Coconut oil, however, has done wonders for me.

I purchased a jar after exhaustively reading the reviews on MUA and elsewhere, though I was still skeptical about a pleasant outcome. What a nice surprise it has been to find that coconut oil not only softens my skin substantially, but has also for the most part eliminated any KP/dryness bumps--and all it took was a brief application of oil! Applying it before bathing makes my skin much more comfortable during a shower, when it otherwise becomes irritated and drier. However, I often apply the oil after bathing--timing seems to make little difference in the final result. I also occasionally use this as a facial moisturiser and cleanser, and it is a great eye makeup remover. Give it a chance!

Edit to add: I suggested this as a hair treatment to my mother, who colors her hair and heat-styles each day without any protectant. Her hair was in an awful state--dry and brittle. We applied a bit of coconut oil, wrapped her hair and let it sit overnight, washing out in the morning. An improvement was immediately visible in the texture and vibrance. While her hair is naturally somewhat coarse and mine is baby-fine, it works very well for both of us. Yet another benefit of coconut oil.

This is the only body moisturizer I use now. For years I tried countless lotions and whilst some made my skin feel moisturized, it was only for a short while. After trying coconut oil out on my body, my skin feel moisturized for DAYS...

I had a problem with spots on my chest for some reason, and they weren't going away. After using coconut oil on my chest for a few days, the red sore spots all went away and my chest has now been spot free ever since! I use this all over my body and my skin feels super soft and supple.

I take a small scoop of coconut oil from the tub, put it in a bowl and pop it in the microwave for 30 secs so it forms a warm oil. I then rub it between my hands and apply where ever. It doesn't feel greasy and absorbs pretty quick considering it's an oil. The smell dies down a few minutes after application and my skin GLOWS.

I really would recommend this - for all those in the UK you can get a massive tub of pure virgin coconut oil from Holland & Barratts for £10. It will last you for AGES.

I call coconut oil a healing panacea. It's amazing what it's done for me so far & I've only been using it for a short time (about 2 wks).

I use organic unrefined virgin coconut oil from local healthfood stores. So far I've tried Nutiva brand but I like La Tourangelle brand much better. Nutiva feels greasier & takes much longer to absorb. It also has a stronger coconut scent, which smells great, but for me lingering smells become annoying. La Tourangelle absorbs into my skin way more quickly like a cream & feels divinely soft. I don't know why the difference.

Coconut oil on my face has transformed my hyper-oily, irritable, ruddy, acne-prone skin into normal, glowing, soft skin. Now that my pores have a break from putting out so much sebum, they actually look smaller. My complexion is clear & smooth & it doesn't break out. I haven't had fresh problem-free skin like this since before puberty (I'm 37 now). Frankly, it's really remarkable how adding healthy oil on top of oily skin causes it to normalize its oil production. My face is no longer oily & it's also not dry. I spent a small fortune on tons of skincare products over the years trying to control the oil. Now all it takes is a $5 jar from the healthfood store that will likey last a year if not more.

My skincare is now pared down to 4 products: organic foaming cleanser, an anti-aging serum, a little coconut oil, & a strong glycolic acid cream or lotion (exfoliation is still required).

I also use coconut oil on my feet at night before bed (sometimes covered with socks, but not always) & all over my body after showering & shaving. In the morning my legs & arms feel moisturized & baby soft.

For haircare, I apply coconut oil to dry hair under a shower cap for 1-2 hrs before showering. My hair is bleach highlighted & chemical-processed, but the coconut oil has strengthened my compromised hair & softened all the crunch out of it. I do this oil pre-treatment only once a week because the softening effects are durable & longterm through multiple showers. My hair feels like healthy virgin hair that's never been damaged. Again, I've spend small fortunes on haircare products to repair chemical-damaged hair, including $100 on Pureology Nanoworks shampoo&conditioner. And none of them worked like this.

I discovered coconut oil to begin with because I burned out & got sick, so I use the oil in my diet for internal nutrition. The lauric acid in it is anti-microbial, the caprylic acid in it kills fungus (like yeast overgrowth), & the medium chain fatty acids it contains provide energy & promote fat loss. I read books about all the kinds of ways this stuff feeds & protects the body's cells.

The only single ONE regret I have about coconut oil is that I didn't learn about it sooner. This product could have enhanced so many years of my life. Now I'm doing coconut-everything - soaps, cleansers, lipbalm, coconut milk, & coconut flour (I'm currently eating low-carb). I'm happy to at least know about it now rather than never. Just a short time using this oil has produced an amazing WOW. It promotes health & helps the body heal itself inside & out.

UPDATE: after using this on and off for a while, i just think my skin is extremely dry for this to be that effective. it works very well if you use it everyday but i just dont have the time to wait for it to soak in. SO i am now using baby oil which has turned my skin into silk=) BUT note i have tried this for OCM and it works wonderfully, calms my skin down so much and makes my face glow!

so i have like these awful bumps on the back of my arms and have been on a relentless pursuit to find something to get rid of them. the technical name for these bumps is "keratosis pilaris" but heck who cares, i think its more like permanent goosebumps. anywho, totes did some research and experimented with creams/lotions but nothing has come close to what coconut oil has done. it literally got rid of the bumpies and redness overnight!!! i just slather it all over after a shower, and sloshily walk around waiting for it to dry. then just slap on my pjs and when i wake up my skin feels so delectable! there is a bit of a downisde though, because its winter in oz i have noticed that it tends to dry my skin out for some reason. did anyone else have this problem?? and the fact that it is greasy and hard to use doesn't really help. BUT overall i think this has saved my skin!!! love it!

I tried using this on my body (thank god not on my face) and it caused me to get tons of red spots (acne?). It clogged my pores like crazy. My boyfriend had the same exact experience.

I'm bummed about this, because it smells good and, apart from the bumps, left my skin super-smooth.

The search for the perfect moisturizer for super dry, super sensitive skin continues. . .

Last week, I spent five days out west ( Nevada, Arizona, California ). Like some visitors, I underestimated the use of sunscreen and moisturizer ( my bad ). Yep, I packed both, but apparently didn't use enough. I arrived home with extremely dry, parched skin. I had read the reviews on here about coconut oil, and was impressed with some of the results. I tried it and it has help 100% with my rough cheeks, chin and forehead. I may not use this all the time, but be sure it will go in my suitcase the next trip out west. A++

I like! As an avid fan of face and body oils - I decided to try this. I use crisco on my face, and hair, and I think it does a wonderful job. It keeps my ends in shape and keeps my skin hydrated, healthy, less oily, and pimple free. BUT crisco kinda smells like french fries and its a really really heavy oil. Its cottonseed and soybean oil. So I was at my local supermarket and came across a huge tub of coconut oil. I bought it thinking it would be perfect for summer since its consistency is lighter, and plus the coconut smell! Its a solid and melts on contact, whereas crisco does not. The only thing I was disappointed in is that it doesn't smell like coconut - or anything at all - which is a good thing, but I really wished it smelled like coconut.

I slathered my hair in it last night, and I noticed my hair seemed to drink it up. I washed it out in the morning with 2 washes. It seemed to wash out very easily, and I probably could have gotten away with washing it just once, but I did twice just in case. I have fine, thin hair, and today my hair is noticeably bouncier than usual. Usually after I blowdry, my hair is a frizzy mess, but today I didn't even need to straighten. I really like this stuff, and I will probably use it everyday at least on my ends.

I LOVE IT. I have dry skin, so when my skin is really dry I use some coconut oil. I had some red patches on my skin and they are gone after using it. I tried using it in my hair and that was a big mistake, my hair was all greasy, so i do not reconment that, but to the skin its AMAZING! xD

I'm a huge fan of coconut oil. I use it everywhere. All over my body, my lips, a tiny bit on the ends of my hair. Lots of uses. It smells great but doesn't cause any irritation like products with artificial scents might. Never breaks me out and it does amazing things for my hair. If I could only take one beauty aid to a desert island this would probably be it!

I get my coconut oil in a plastic screw top tub. When it's in solid form its fine but when it melts it gets a bit messy. My climate is quite cool so its okay but I travelled to Australia with it and as soon as I entered the country my coconut oil melted and stayed in liquid form unless I put it in the fridge. It wasn't a huge deal though since it's amazing uses make it all worth it. I use it solely as an eye make up remover (and sometimes for emergency lip balm or moisturiser if I haven't got any on hand). I use a cotton pad, scrape a bit out of the tub, hold it onto my eye for 10 seconds and voila! EVERYTHING including waterproof products wipe off without tugging and excessive wiping! I LOVE IT and this is coming from a girl that wears full eye make up everyday and used to religiously only use Lancome Bi Facil! I thought I'd never find anything that worked as good as Bi Facil until I discovered coconut oil, and soo incredibly cheap it is so worth it! Of course I follow with another cleanser to clean off the oil and rest of my face.

This stuff is amazing.
So many uses and you get so much for such a good price.
I melt it down and use it in my hair masques.
I mix it in with my body lotion (especially in the winter) for extra hydrated baby soft skin.
After washing my face (when my face is still wet) I put a little in my hands and put it all over my face and pat my face dry. My skin is so soft the next morning and not one breakout.
I also have naturally curly dry hair. When I wear my hair natural I put a little coconut oil in my hands and scrunch my curls and they come out beautiful, soft and defined.
The list goes on and on for this god send. Definitely a good buy.

I researched extra virgin unrefined coconut oil because i heard many good things about it. I found it is great for the skin, hair, tanning, wrinkled skin, weight loss, and digestion. I have used it for all of these things (except wrinkled skin because im young so im not sure) and I couldn't be more pleased. My favorite uses are for washing my skin and for conditioning my hair. I use this as a face wash/makeup remover every morning and night. I only use this on my skin and wash it off with a wash cloth and water. Then after doing that I put on persa-gel 10 by clean and clear and thats all i do at night after washing with the coconut oil. I have always had oilyyy skin. My skin gets oily an hour after of washing it. After using this coconut oil to wash my skin the oil on my skin has reduced about 75% no lie!!!! I think this is better than anyyy face wash ive ever used for my oily skin and it doesnt strip my face of all its oil, it just leaves it with the perfect amount. Plus it doesn't make me break out. If anything it helps my acne. I was scared to use this on my oily skin but i am so happy i did. Im not sure if it will work that way for everyone but if you have super oily skin and want to reduce it .. give this a try!!! It also makes my hair look great and gives it more volume!! I am hoping it will eventually strengthen it a lot so it can grow longer.
UPDATE: I found a new cleanser called Dark Angels by Lush. That works perfect for my oily skin and it detoxifies my skin so well!!! I still love coconut oil but Dark Angels is my all time new favorite cleanser for oily skin it works even better than the coconut oil (probaby because it IS formulated for the skin haha). I will still occasionally use coconut oil though I have found another all love. have oily skin? CHECK OUT DARK ANGELS BY LUSH. it looks like a pile of dirt in a container but trust me its amazing.
UPDATE #2: Dark Angels broke me out badly, but I have gotten back in to the routine of using coconut oil to wash off makeup. I wouldn't recommend using only coconut oil because I think it has caused so blackheads using on its own. However, it is still definitely still one of my favorties for helping cut down on oil production!

I love this for my body and as a hair treatment. I read other reviews here of people using this on their face so I tried it as I rarely have breakouts and have really clear skin. The day after using it my face had erupted in pimples pretty much everywhere. I had to go to the dermatologist to get prescription cream to clear it up because it wasn't going away on its own, I've never had that before.

So in all I would recommend for body and hair but I wouldn't recommend using on your face as others have done.
