For the price, this is one of the best loose powders that I have tried. My skin is oily, but it also has a tendency to feel dry and tight (during the winter months I'll even get patches of dry skin on my cheeks). This is one of the few powders that I've tried that controls th oilies, and does not accentuate dryness.
This powder offers a lovely, matte finish that does not look dull, dry or cakey in the least. I use 'Translucent', which is totally invisible when blended and does not cause an ashy, pallid or chalky cast on my light brown complexion. This powder does not cake up or feel heavy, even after a reapplication (which I usually don't need anyway since this product works so well to control shine all day long). I haven't tried any of th pigmented powders so I can't comment on coverage, but I imagine it'd be very light.
All that being said, I have heard that a lot of women with super oily skin found that this powder left something to be desired (SUGGESTION: Mattify! Cosmetics Ultra For Oily To Very Oily, Fyrinnae Oil Control or Jurlique Citrus Silk)...But for women with combo to mildly oily skin, this is a great option.
What I do hate about this product is the packaging. It's aesthetically pleasing (a cute little square box with a photo of a Geisha), but it's very impractical and messy (even for a loose powder). If you're not careful, the lid could come off while in your purse (it is not a screw on lid nor does it have a little latch). ALSO, the puff that they include with this product is pretty much useless (like most applicators included with makup I suppose). I use a regular large powder brush and lightly dust this product over my entire face. Sometimes I wear this alone, but other times I use it to set my makeup (which it does a great job of, really locks everything into place and looks/feels invisible). I also like to dust this powder over my lids before applying eye makeup to mop up the extra sweats and oils.
This product has a light baby powder scent, which for me isn't a problem, but for someone who's very sensitive, it might be (not that it smells "bad" by any means).
Anyhow, I would most definitly buy this product again (I plan on going to Sally's to purchase a pigmented one). It's a high quality product at a very low price. Though it's far from the best loose powder on the market, it's still good and it IS one of the best CHEAP loose powders for women who don't want to spend $40 on powder from MAC or MUFE....But like I said, skip this if you have a huge issue with oiliness or sweating. This powder is best suited to combo or mildly oily skin. Even I opt for other powders on hot days when I know I will be sweating a lot. But for everyday, this powder is a nice little addition to any makeup collection :)

I really love this product. It is a wonderful setting powder, I sweep it over my foundation and it really fills in fine lines. The price is really affordable, I got mine at Sally's for only $4.49 with my Beauty Card. The packaging is alright, but the lid easily comes off. I really do recommend this!!! :)

While I am not crazy in love with this powder, it is nice. My all-time HG is MUFE HD Powder, and this is nothing in comparison. However, the MUFE powder is pretty expensive, so I like having a cheaper alternative around. It controls oil fairly well, but I do need to blot my t-zone after a few hours with this powder. Overall, for the price the product is really good, but it isn't the best loose powder on the market by a mile.,

I like this powder! It works well for me, but there was a learning curve!
Before I learned how to properly exfoliate, and care for my skin, I had very bad results with this. I stuck it in my makeup case, and didn't use it for a long time.
I have dry skin, I am not at all acne prone, but enjoy some very light coverage ocassionally. This is perfect! It gives me a little bit of coverage, it smells really nice, it lightens my medium complexion when I want to go for that look, it is super light weight, so it feels like you're not wearing anything!
I suggest getting your skin well moisterized, but relatively dry. Give it a go, I really like it.

I have this product in the shade natural. I bought this because I think the packaging is cute. It turns out to be a great setting powder. It is finely milled, doesn't break me out, and does a good job setting my foundation without making my dry skin look cakey. It's not expensive, and while the finish is in no way glowy or glittery, I don't find it overly matte either. Would repurchase.

After using the blotting sheets from this brand, that worked really well, I decided to get the powder. I figured it would work better. It works ok. Not really that great. It doesn't last long either. I also hate the packaging as it is very messy. The brush doesn't work either, so you should expect to use something else. It's an OK product.

OK so I kept seeing this product online and in Sally stores, and read how it was suppose to "absorb oil" so I went ahead and bought it.
That was yesterday afternoon, and I just used it this morning. NEVER BUYING IT AGAIN! IT MADE MY SKIN RED AND PATCHY ON MY CHEEKS! So gonna get my money back.
Hope this doesn't happen to any of you ladies. I have oily skin + acne and thought this would help, but it just made my skin worse. So disappointed.

I bought this based on the generally good ratings. I've also been using a covergirl mineral powder to set my foundation and wanted something to control shine better.
This powder is okay. I have it in translucent and it sets my foundation well. It gives me a very airbrushed, porcelain doll finish. when first applying, it's a half shade or so too light but then it melds into my skin and matches my skin color more. The staying power is good but it really doesn't control shine at all. It's no better or worse than my covergirl product.
I also enjoy the smell it has. It does have a light smell of baby powder but it doesn't linger.
I tried to use it on it's own and it's a very light coverage. But in a few hours, it's useless. Unless you already have about perfect skin, this won't last for you. I won't be using it solo again, that's for sure.
This also has not broken me out.
Overall, it didn't work as well as I hoped. I'll use it up and unless it starts doing miracles for my skin, I won't repurchase.

After seeing this product on the Makeupgeek website, I was determined that this would be the "be all, end all" of loose setting powders. Someone mentioned that they got tiny, cyst-like bumps on their face after several uses. I still bought it anyway, and while it was great with the first few tries, yesterday upon examining my makeup in a mirror, I noticed the same cyst-like bumps on the tops of my cheek bones, near and under my eyes. After removing my make-up later that night, the bumps were there, prominent as ever and stinging slightly from my makeup wipe/moisturizer, even bleeding a little bit. I'm disappointed in the result, because as far a loose powders go, this was my favourite. I think when I use it, I'll use it sparingly instead of all the time. I don't think I'd buy it again, sadly.

I'm not so sure about this product. I like that it as different shades to pick from or the translucent. I have oily skin that definitely needs to be sopped up at least once a day wearing makeup or not, actually I think its worse bare faced. the powder goes on really nice, it's not cakey or splotchy, but it doesn't soak up oil very well. I don't really like how thick the papers are it seems to make it a little difficult to get around the nose and the chin area. I think if you want something to put powder on these are good and probably stay cleaner than a compact, but as for dual duty they don't impress. If your skin isnt very greasy or oily they would probably work a lot better.

Oh my!!! This is a product that I could never ever ever ever see myself not wearing! This has a slight coverage and sets my foundation AMAZINGLY! I even noticed that after I put this over my foundation, my pores disappeared. (I have very large pores, so this was truly a miracle!) The only downfall is that the loose powder can be a hassle sometimes..but I a DEFINITELY able to deal with it considering the amazing results! Overall, worth every single penny! Go out to get it now!!

Best loose powder I have ever tried. Keeps me shine free for at least 6 hours with no cake!!! Love it!! The only thing that bums me is it does get a little messy, but most loose powders do. Would def buy again!!!

Love love love! This powder is so soft and gentle, looks gorgeous on, and I feel like a 1920's starlet using it. The transluscent shade works wonderfully for porcelain skin.

I am in love with this product! I picked this up at sallys and was looking for a good setting power and this product went above and beyond my expectations! This finely milled powder is great for setting foundation, keeps me matte all day and makes my foundation/ concealer look smooth and soft! What I like is that it comes in a few colors so it doesnt look ghostly on your face like other translucent powders tend to do. Will repurchase this again and again!

Bought this stuff on sale along with my wet/dry foundation in translucent. I trashed the puff it came with and just used my own brush, which works fine. I keep the little sticker on (clear one that covers the holes on the sifter) and that helps with the messiness of the powder getting everywhere. There is a slight baby powder-like scent, but literally after the first couple applications I stopped noticing it. Definitely not an offensive enough smell not to purchase. Powder goes great over my wet/dry foundation and does not break me out (woo hoo). A really simple, no frills product. Love it.

I really like this powder. It gave me a matte finish, and lasted all day long for me. I do have to say that the product is very finely milled, and glides very smoothly on the skin. I use it to set my foundation, concealer, and even eyeliner! But, since it is not mineral loose powder, I didn't know if I should of tapped some into the lid or take it straight from the sifter. If it was your first time trying this product, I recommend that you use it kind of as a mineral powder.

everyone i turned to for my oily skin suggested i use this rice powder. i bought it in translucent, but it does come in other shades that i'll try later. i don't really like the scent, it's nice but not enjoyable for hot days. now, the reasoning behind the four stars? the packaging. it's really a nuisance and i can't really bring it anywhere with me or do a quick touch-up while out because the top flips off so easily and the powder goes everywhere. if they make a better packaging, i'd give it five stars! oh, and it does control oil pretty well. not as much to make your skin matte all day, but it controls mine for a few hours, maybe less. worth it though!

my skin is veerrryy oily, sensitive, and acne-prone. i wanted a powder that could accommodate to it.
this product covered ALL my criteria! the warm-beige doesnt give a white cast and doesnt darken when it reacts with my oil. i dust it over my face before concealing, then dab more powder with my finger on any trouble spots (big zits) after concealing. this helps my makeup last for hrs on end! it also gives a flawless finish. i concentrate this stuff mostly on my t-zone area (by "concentrate" i mean a few light pats) and it keeps me matte w/o the cakiness. i still have to blot but only after hrs of matte-heaven.
ive been using this for a few months and it hasnt seemed to break me out. at the same time it doesnt help my skins condition either (probably due to the talc and parabens - major ingredient downside). it also tends to crease into awful parentheses-lines when i smile (a warning that it might settle into fine lines), so i avoid powdering that area. and the packaging is the worst! it comes out when you dont want it to, and doesnt come out when you do. just overall very messy...
but its still worth the great finish.

I use the transluscent powder to set my makeup, it's soft, gentle, blends well and has a very pleasant smell. The only downside is that if you have oily skin like me, you'll need to reapply at least once throughout the day or blot with the Palladio oil-absorbing sheets. I used to get this at Walmart but recently they stopped carrying it so now I get it at Sally Beauty supply.

Love this rice powder. Ive tried many other loose powders to set my foundation and this is the one I keep buying. It never breaks me out and cuts down the oilys! Im not really a fan of the packaging though. I just shake alittle into the box's top and swirl my powder brush in that. The puff is useless, use a blush brush or large powder instead. Definitly will be repurchasing again and again.
