I love this! I got a sample with a Sephora order and fell in love right away. I normally loathe fruity fragrances but this one is a nice mix of fruity/oriental. I have been wearing it daily and I have gotten compliments on it. I am thinking of getting the men's version for DH for Christmas.

All right! Its been a long time since i left a review! Thank you to all the fans! Before i digress any further, let me tell you about this fragrance. I love all things black currant (jams in particular), but many companies that used this note have not been able to capture it properly. Fuel for Life is a warm, soft scent, niether fruity nor woody singularily, but a pleasant mixture of both. There is nothing floral about it, and i'm glad jasmine got lost somewhere in the composition. The scent itself reminds me of Narcisso Rodriguez with a hint of berry and less musk. I believe its the patchouli in it. Lasting power is superb, and the lotion (i bought a gift set with the large EDP and lotion) is pure bliss! By the way - all the stores i've visited have lace on all the bottles!

i was so excited about the sephora sample and sprayed it on the second i got my order..it was very nice..i couldn't stop smelling my wrist...was even planning on getting a full size if SO would approve [he is sensitive to some scents] but i didn't..why you ask with the high ratings i gave it...well the entire time i felt the scent was so familiar...there was just something about it so i went to read the reviews and lo and behold the mystery was solved! it smells just like Lolita Lempika Midnight on me...the top note is a tiny bit different but the middle is the same at least on me it is...so i ambushed SO with LLM on one wrist and Diesel on the other and he could not tell the difference...therefore i would not repurchase [purchase] as i have 75% full LLM...
i do adore the packaging but LLM is so much prettier anyway...also plz note like one other reviewer pointed out...the net/stocking thing is only on the larger bottle...

This is a fruity oriental, or as I like to call it a "fruit-iental". It has the standard resinous, rich ambery woodsy notes of an oriental, and the sweet headiness of honeyed jasmine, and some indistinct fruitiness which according to sephora is provided by raspberry, mandarin, and blackcurrant. It's surprizingly a pretty nice composition, and the drydown is sort of gingery and sweetly spicy thanks to the patchouli and pink pepper, and there's a hint of the jasmine which turns slightly sour & sharp. It's a pretty and a little bit naughty.

Not liking the very fruity opening. Not gonna wait to see how it dries down.

If Flowerbomb and Angel were to have a lovechild, this would be it. I can detect hints of both, perhaps it's the fruit notes mixed with the patchouli that gives it a resemblance of Angel. I could see how this might be a pleasant enough scent to some, but to me, it seems to be another fruity-berry-floral...safe, but not unique. Syrupy and cloying enough to be headache-inducing on me, and that's not something that happens easily.

UPDATE 11/29/07: The votes are in and this scent is not offensive or icky to anyone I have polled (even those who prefer different types of scents). And I even got a few "oh yeah, that's nice" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) responses. ORIGINAL POST:I am really liking it. I am trying to decide for myself before I ask my hubby what he thinks...but it seems to be working on me. And I have not been able to wear (or stand the smell of) any other perfume I have tried in years! Fragrances alone, not to mention how they wear on different people are so hard to review because they are SOOO subjective. I had to chime in though so its poor score didn't sink so much with all the negative reviews :)

It smells a bit like cough syrup. Not terrible, but not something I'd buy. I like the lace on the bottle, but it's too bad they don't put it on the smaller bottles. That's awfully chintzy of them.

Sprayed this onto a card. Smells exactly like cherry cough syrup. Sickly sweet and extremely medicinal. Nothing sexy or pleasant about this scent. The bottle with the lace on it is cute, though.

So fucking gorgeous, but so much sweeter than I ever imagened could work for me. But it does. I fell totally in love with it the first time I smelled it, but figured that is was way too rich and sweet for me. I love citrus, zing and freshness. But this is a not-green fragrance I actually like. Which is good. And the lace on the bottle is so pretty! Just a shame you then go on and splurge on a 30 ml perfume and then come home to see that the lace is not on the 30 ml bottle. I generally think perfumes are way too expensive and so not worth it, but I kind of think this one is. But I want lace on my bottle the next time...
Edit: This is really growing on me. I'm still amazed how I actually like a perfume. It's so lovely and sweet - and what makes it so special that it's sweet without being sickening and strong. I love love love this, definitely HG.

This smelled quite a bit like Versace Yellow Jeans to me, which is a pretty casual fragrance in my opinion. I thought it smelled nice right from the bottle, and it wasn't at all offensive. It was just "okay".

Wow, I haven't been impressed by a new fragrance in a long time. I don't like any of the recent mainstream fragrances released this year.
The unique sample sprayer given out at Sephora caught my eye, but I expected to toss this. I spritzed it on and thought it was very subtle, but then I got the wafting fresh, clean scent. I don't smell anything powdery about this and -- although I love vanilla and sweet scents -- I get only a hint of anything edible. To me, it has a sparkling clean quality about it mainly that is familiar, as other reviewers mention, although I can't say why. I may purchase a full bottle.

People say this is a Flowerbomb copy but it's much closer to Miss Dior Cherie. The first time I smelled it I was seized by that "this smells like something else" feeling. I read the reviews here and compared it to my Flowerbomb and its not even close. Then all the sudden it dawned on me and I grabbed my Miss Dior Cherie and sure enough thats what it is. Tart berry smell mixed with vanilla. It's actually quite wearable and pleasant. Its sweet but not gaggingly so (is that a word, lol) and it drys down to a soft vanilla with hardly any berry left. I guess I'd say it's the love child of Miss Dior Cherie and Flowerbomb so if you like those you'll love this.

I sampled it, hesitadet a lot, wanted to go back in to the shop and buy it, but couldn't make my mind up so I thought I should let its qualities evolve on my skin for the rest of the day - I loved it, but it smelled familiar to something on me. First of all, it smells lovely - a great fall scent for yummy lovers like me. Kind of gourmand; vanillaish and candylike, but with at beautifully fresh twist: Blackcurrant lingering on top of all the sweetness. I couldn't stop smelling my wrists.
Unfortunately when it dried down after a couple of hours, it disappointed me - the blackcurrant twist was gone and all that was left was my beloved Lolita Lempicka which I have two bottles of at home.
I SO wanted the blackcurrant to linger for longer - but alas...no purchase. I can stick to my Lolita instead....

I am having one of my indecisive moments with fragrance and generally looking for something to grab me but that also my hubby will like. I smelled a sample in a magazine and immediately was intrigued. I am going back and forth with it and my hubby likes it but doesn't love it, so will see. I think it is a nice mix of spicy and fruity and could be a transseasonal scent to be honest as it sweet and spicy but not too heavy. That would be my only other complaint, the last was not too strong but much better than others I have tried recently. They really skimp on lasting power these days.UPDATE: I decided to stick with this and also try the body lotion, very nice. I agree with one of the previous reviewers who said it is a more wearable version of Flowerbomb. Upon the dry down of both, totally agree. Even with several sprays of this, layered over the body lotion it is not heavy but there is a light lingering fragrance. It is spicy yet fruity, so not overbearing for the day and office but would still probably be best in cooler times of year.

Well I am quite surprised by this perfume. I thought it might be quite fruity, but it really isn't. Its difficult to describe, I definitely smell the patchouli, but it isn't overpowering, nauseating or headache inducing. Its actually a light, powdery fragrance, with the smallest hint of fruit. It almost has a manly edge to it, but it still retains its femininity. I really like it, but I would not recommend this to anyone who doesn't like notes of patchouli (I know the ones who exist!).

Firs of all, I am not good at describing fragrances so I won't go into that. Especially considering the reviewer before me has done a good job with that!
I find Fuel for Life to be a bit too strong for my taste. It is too heavy and not as soft and sweet as I like my fragrances to be.
