Went to visit my mum one day and forgot to bring my mascara so initally I borrowed this product from her...
I used to usually switch between a Dior mascara and a MAC mascara, depending on the look I was going for... but this mascara was definitely up there with the high-end brands!
My eyelashes are thick, but sparse and I love added volume but hate clumping. This mascara was perfect for a daytime eye and I ended up purchasing one for myself!

I'm really shocked at the reviews of this mascara. So many people absolutely hate it but I disagree completely. Personally, I have pretty pathetic lashes, they're short, no curl and not many of them either. I think that when people go to buy mascara they want the big, thick voluminous lashes and I think that's why this mascara gets left in the dust so often because it's not that kind of mascara. This is the perfect mascara for EVERY DAY natural looks but definitely NOT a night out mascara. It gives me very natural looking lashes, not really thick or clumpy. It doesn't give that false eyelash effect, it just looks like my own lashes but in much better condition. A bit darker, longer and like I have more of them. Now if you want something that gives huge lashes go in the other direction towards something like YSL shocking or something like that. Because the maybelline great lash is definitely more natural looking. If you like that sort of thing then you will like this. People always seem to have the highest expectations when it comes to mascara and this one will probably disappoint you because I think it's just a different concept. This is something that's great for younger girls that are first trying makeup because it's not gonna look like too much. I personally like this and it stays in my makeup bag most of the time. It also comes in a couple different colors which is great. I also love how it's not a pain in the ass to get off. With most mascaras I have to pull at my poor eyelids to get it off but this one just glided off with a makeup wipe. That made me very happy. All in all, I would say it's worth the buy IF you like natural looking lashes which most people don't. But it's not a bad mascara by any means.

This isn't the greatest mascara I've ever used. I don't think anyone finds this to be the absolute best mascara. But it's cheap and the bottles tend to last pretty long. It's one of those mascaras that are great to have on hand for when we don't feel like using our expensive stuff.

Of course I'd buy this again! I think this mascara is the bomb for a drugstore brand. It amplfies my lashes, stays on without the dreaded flaking and the price is dirt cheap. I always have several of these in my cosmetic case.

I do like this product, but it just doesn't grab onto my thin lashes. I love to wear this whenever I'm going to be swimming because it comes right off and I don't have to worry about it smearing down my face because water just makes it disappear. The brush doesn't work for me; although I do enjoy looking at its spiral shape, it doesn't do anything for my lashes. I'm more of a covergirl lasblast fan or a l'oreal voluminous carbon black fan, but this brush just doesn't grab hold of, or brush through my lashes. It just sort of coats them, and them it doesn't build any volume!

I heard that this mascara is a love or hate mascara and I wanted to try it. The first time i tried it i honestly hated it. The formula is too wet and sticky, it also clumps to easily. When i first tried it i legit had like 5 lashes because it was so clumpy.

Cute and packaging, formula not so good. It is soo runny, and it smudges throughout the day! My lashes look nice, but they dont hold the curls very well. (I have straight asian lashes).

I'm a bit surprised at the low rating for this! While it doesn't provide tons of volume, it lengthens my lashes like no other and they are completely separated and black black black.I personally have this in noir black. It is a pretty wet formula, but I tend to have better results with those. My lashes also feel soft after this dries, unlike some mascaras that lengthen so much - they feel dry and I can...feel them when I blink. Drives me nuts! This doesn't do that. I can see why someone that wasn't very dramatic lashes might not enjoy this, but I still reach for it. For me, it's great for layering under a volumizing one if I want drama. I personally don't experience clumps and flaking or anything. Guess I'm lucky!
I also like the small brush - I find it SO hard to get my outer & inner lashes with the brushes most mascaras have today, they're huge. This is the perfect size for those little lashes and it makes my lashes look so good since they're all completely covered.

Does not layer well and has a tendency to clump. This has a very wet formula and is easily smudged. It does darken lighter lashes but does not lengthen them in any way.

I used to use this mascara when I was a teen. I think it must have been a better product then. This time, I purchased this mascara due to it being on sale. I am very disappointed. I think both the product and the brush are at fault. I was not able to build up a nice, unclumpy coverage. Nor could I easily lengthen or curl my lashes with the mascara. After working on layering the product on my lashes, I took a look and was horrified to see that like another reviewer, my lashes resembled Tammy Fay. So I washed my face and went out without makeup. I will try using one of my other mascaras and this in combo just to use it up since I bought three on sale. Never again!

First of all, I really don't like the brush. It doesn't separate my lashes at all. It just clumps them and doesn't hardly make them longer. But my mom swears by it so I guess it just depends on the person. It's really cheap so it's worth a try.

I too once loved this mascara, but the recipe has changed! While the formula is able to be layered, I always look like Tammy Faye Baker afterward. I am sad to say the old familiar pink and green mascara will no longer be welcomed here.

With this mascara I would never wear alone. It's too liquidy and doesn't hold curl very well. On the other hand, I do recommend this mascara for mixing. You get th best results by applying different mascaras, don't go crazy though. I mean just applying two different ones not like six or five. I normally use this mascara and apply my original one, works great for me. I'd say that you should just give it a try, it's really cheap anyways.

Mascaras are usually hit or miss, and this one is a hit in my family. It's a wetter formula, which makes it great for building volume at the base. It gives the perfect "everyday lashes". Nothing too dramatic. It's very inexpensive too, so that's a plus. I really like it and it's always my backup mascara if I'm running out of a favorite. It's worth it to check it out.

Although this is one of Maybelline's less expensive products, the quality of this product is amazing. The packaging is bright and colorful, and the actual mascara works very well. I use it in Soft Black, and it is perfect.

I don't understand either how this mascara has the reputation of being 'one of the best mascaras.' I am in my 50s and have used almost every brand of mascara there is on the market. To me, this is one of the worst mascaras I have ever used. It doesn't color my lashes, nor does it curl them whatsoever. To me, this mascara did absolutely nothing.

I would love to know who started the rumor that this is the greatest mascara ever!!! I'm thinking the marketing dept. over at Maybelline had something to do w/ it. It's OK for a drug store mascara but it's just OK. Most drug store mascaras are OK. If I see this mascara on1 more list of the best mascaras ever, I'm going to scream!!!!!
