I have always loved Aveda skin care products, but I had stopped using them for a while to try something new. Just recently I picked up a tube of the Tourmaline Charged Exfoliating Cleanser. After the first time I used it, I could already tell it was perfect for me. I have pretty normal skin, but it is also somewhat combination, and can be prone to breakouts every now and again. I also have a problem with blackheads on my nose (no matter what I do they never seem to go away). Anyways, I must say that I love the packaging for this cleanser. With some of the other Aveda cleansers, they are packaged in glass bottles, which, if you ask me, is completely unpractical for a face wash (or anything that might be kept in the shower). But this comes in a great plastic tube that is both sanitary and shower-safe. Secondly, I love the scent of this stuff. It has that good Aveda scent, but slightly different and not as strong as in their gel face cleanser. As for the face wash itself, I love the thick, creamy consistency of this wash. If you add enough water you can get it frothy, but it's not a foamy, soapy kind of cleanser. The beads actually do an effective job of exfoliating, IMO. After using this, my face never feels overly dry and it never feels stripped. Since starting to use this cleanser (I have been using it for roughly three weeks) my pores have become significantly smaller (they are practically invisible now!). My skin is also less oily than it used to be. And best of all, I have had no breakouts since I started using this and those stubborn blackheads on my nose are practically all gone. This is a great cleanser, and it has definately changed my skin for the better.

My facialist busted me for using St Ives Apricot Scrub, and recommended I use this instead. I love the Tourmaline Radiance Fluid from Aveda, and I've been using Clean and Clear acne wash for years. Since I'm pushing 30, I thought maybe it's time to stop with the acne wash and be a little gentler with my skin. The first time I used the Exfoliating Cleanser, I was not pleased with the smallness, softness, and sort of sparse beads in the cleanser and didn't think it would smooth my skin at all. However, I didn't realize that this cleanser exfoliates not through the roughness of the beads but through the actual ingredients in the cleanser. It took 3 days of washing with the cleanser for my skin to respond to the exfoliants, but now it is so soft, consistently smooth, and really truly glowing. I spend about a minute and a half working it into my skin - the foam is sort of small and compact. I'm not sure what the active ingredients in this are but they work! I'll definitely be buying it again - it's $27 but you only need a pea-sized amount for your whole face.

This product is amazing. It gently scrubs but works well enough to give skin the appearance of having just had a facial. Also makes a huge difference in pore size- immediately makes them appear smaller and cleaner looking. Plus Aveda's enviornmentally friendly packaging is awesome!

My skincare specialist gave me a sample of this and told me to use it once a day. I use it at night (in the AM, I use Burts Bee's Gardern Tomato Soap) and I use the Tourmaline mask twice a week. I love it, I just wish it wasn't so pricey! She also suggested that I get a $120 facial every month. Ummmmmm yeah...we'll see about that. Anyway, this product makes my skin soft and sort of glowy. So far, so good!

I really like this cleanser/scrub- it is great to use in the shower. It doesn't exactly foam like a gel, but sort of 'reacts' with the water in a nice, frothy way. It leaves my skin very smooth and even toned and has helped blemishes alot. This is really the only product in the aveda line I have liked, other than the tourmaline mask- (these are the only two tourmaline products I have tried)- maybe the tourmaline line is great. Easy flip top, sqeeze tube. No noticable scent, just a little earthy, but really subtle.

A very gentle but effective cleanser. I could tell a huge difference in my skin texture the first time I used it. Using this 2 times a day I no longer need any type of extra dermabrasion. Will definitely re purchase. but for as little as you need it should last a good while.

Finally, Aveda has come out with an sloughing scrub for your face. This cleanser is very mild, so mild that you could use it everyday. The consistancy is very creamy with small, non-rough, exfoliating particles and the scent is very neutral. I've been using this at least 4 times a week for over 6 weeks and am noticing that I'm not getting nearly as many flaky patches on my neck and chin this winter. Also, since it is so gentle, I don't get the red flare-ups that I normally do from other scrubs. The only people that I would not recommend this for are those with very oily skin (b/c of the creamy base) and those that require a heavy-duty scrub (b/c it's so gentle). Overall, an excellent product that helps with skin dullness and flaky patches!
