I really like this eyeliner! I went to a waterpark where my face got wet, and when i looked in the mirror there was no racoon eyes, yay! The top liner was still perfect, and since summer is coming soon and there will be lots of pool parties and such, I really like that it stays put. My only complaint, I don't really like this on my lower lashline, it makes my eyes look too dark, since I have this in black, so I use revlon matte on my lower lashes.
Overall the eyeliner has great staying power and I will repurchase!
btw, no smudges for me.

This pencil is very soft, goes on smoothly, and really lasts all day. I never have to worry about smudging when I wear this liner so I use this when I really need waterproofing. It is rather difficult to remove so that is why I have bumped it from a 5 to 4. Also, I have a hard time get the pencil to be any of kind of sharp.
Given it's extreme lasting power, I would repurchase this item.

This was not the worst eyeliner I've tried but defninitely not that good either. I finished using my makeupforever eyeliner so I decided to give this one a try after reading all the great reviews of this product. Basically when I apply this prouct I have to apply more than 3 times to get the similar effect as the makeupforever eyeliner's one time application. I have to say the color is pretty weak and after a while it smudges, too. So if I;m done using this product I am definitely going back to the makeupforever eyeliner.

I absolutely LOVE this eyeliner. I've been using it for three years now and haven't turned back since. I initially started off with the black but it was too dark on my skin, so I switched to brown; which looks like black only softer. I think this eyeliner is amazing, I rarely have to reapply it to my water line. It only bleeds a little out of the corner of my eye but not a lot especially compared to a lot of eyeliners. To me, this eyeliner works the best. I love the fact it comes with a made in sharpener too! Definitely would recommend!

Why would you pay three times as much for an eyeliner pencil, when you can buy this and get awesome wear? I've been using this off and on since high school, and the other pencil eyeliner I have is a Mary Kay one in a steel grey color- only because it's a different color that Almay doesn't seem to make.
I use the Brown Topaz (which I'm not sure they still make, or it's called something else) and it's a beautiful brown-copper color. It does smudge slightly, but I'm not keen on super dramatic eyeliner anyway. That's not what I bought it for! I have very sensitive skin and eyes, as in I have to return like half the products I buy, and this has never once irritated me. Urban Decay's 24-7 pencils did, the MUFE Aqua Liners did, and so did pretty much every other eyeliner I've ever tried at Sephora with the exception of those by Korres.
If you have green eyes, Brown Topaz is a lovely color and will enhance them! I know, ladies, I know- Almay doesn't make eyeliner in fifteen vivid, different colors, but for your everyday face, they're spectacular.

I think between my colorstay and my Almay eyeliner I would have to say this is my favorite.
I only have to re-apply this every 3-4 hours on my water line only. (I use colorstay on my upper lid) If set with black eyeshadow it will stay, not for 16 hrs but it will stay for a decent amount of time. Also if you put setting powder right under your waterline the eyeliner will not bleed to the point that you have raccoon eyes. It bleeds a little but not a whole lot.
I absolutely LOVE this eyeliner and would recommend it to anyone. I don't think it matters if it's a drugstore brand or not, it's how you put it on.

I love this eyeliner so much. It is creamy and the color is very rich. The eyeliner blends so well for me, and it glides on smoothly. It comes with a sharpener, but it's not really needed since the crayon inside the plastic thingy can "sharpen up" simply just by stroking it a little along the back of your hand. I love it. It lasts really long and doesn't smudge easily on my waterline.

UPDATE (03/2010): down a lippie in comparison with current favourite, Laura Mercier's cake eyeliner in Mahogany Brown.
Equal best eyeliner I've bought in a long time (the other being Origins Automagically, which comes in a wider range of colours). Passes that other test of a good eyeliner: when used with a brush, very nearly as good as a gel/cream one.
This is a twist-up, slightly creamy pencil. It's easily "sharpened" on the back of your hand, but there's also a sharpener at the other end of the pencil. Shades available: black, black/brown, and brown. I'm using the brown, and just for tightlining, being of the pale and gingerry persuasion: while I can get away with black mascara, black eyeliner looks too harsh.
It's easy to apply, either as a pencil or using an eyeliner brush (this works for tightlining, don't know about other lining techniques). Stays on all day, and indeed all day and all night: I've put the "up to 16 hours" promise to the test, and on my eyes at least, it does indeed. Nearer 24, actually. The big test is sleeping in it - not something I'd do regularly, but it has been known to happen occasionally. All other eyeliners I've used so far migrate and irritate (even just a little) by the next morning. The only ones that haven't so far are this one, Maybelline's old Unstoppable (in Cinnabar), and a Beauty Without Cruelty one of a long time ago (errm, some point around the early 1990s, so no guarantees on the 2010 version). My skin can be irritable, and the Almay liner has caused no complaints (ditto the aforementioned and some other previous regulars).
The brown is a nice rich warm brown: not a hint of grey to it, though it has the sort of pleasant reddish undertone I've previously only found in eyeliners that contained more red colours--carmine, bismuth oxychloride--of precisely the sort that tend to irritate my eyes (at least after a while, and when migrating, as they always do, onto the actual eye). The one exception being Origins Automagically. Almay offer a larger range of colours in some of their other pencils, but I haven't found any of the others (the normal pencil and the Intense I-Color) to be in the same league as this Amazing Lasting one.
Bonus: it has a far better cap than my previous favourites, Clinique Quickliners and Origins Automagically. More solid, clicks on properly, and doesn't crack; a cracking cap, IME, means your liner dries out very fast; a badly cracked cap falls off, with even worse consequences for your liner.
Readily available, even in many supermarkets. Might count as towards the pricey end of the scale for a drugstore product - around CAD 8-10 - but it's as good or better than more expensive ones, better than cheaper ones, from a good solid brand that's very sensitive-skin-friendly. Fragrance-free and cruelty-free (and many of their products, inc this one, are vegan).
INGREDIENTS: CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, OZOKERITE, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, POLYETHYLENE, PHENYL TRIMETHICONE, CANDELILLA CERA (EUPHORBIA CERIFERA WAX), TOCOPHEROL, SORBIC ACID, METHYLPARABEN, PROPYLPARABEN, BHT [+/- MICA, TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), IRON OXIDES (CI 77491, 77492, 77499), FERRIC FERROCYANIDE (CI 77510)]

Finally, an eyeliner that stays put and doesn't smudge! I've used Revlon Colorstay eyeliner for the past 2 years, more? and that one is pretty good stays put and doesn't smudge all over my eye it will a little but still better than others I've tried. Then about a month or so ago my sister gave me her Almay eyeliner bc she just wasen't using it anymore, and Oh my goodness this eyeliner is soo goood. On me it does not smudge at all, and I use this to tightline and I use it on my waterline. It's not super creamy, but not dry or hard to use either. I really like this product, will re-purchase definitely :)

Ever since I bought it this in Black and Purple, I haven't touched my other eyeliner pencils (Lancomme and Revlon). It has a creamy texture so it's great for blending - on my lazy days, I smudge it with a brush to cheat on smokey eye looks.
The staying power is okay although, for me, my lids tend to get a bit oily so it smudges/runs a bit within 4-6 hours. However, a quick clean up with a Q-tip usually fixes the issue. Otherwise, I tight-line and there is no smudging at all. It's surprisingly great for the waterline.
The black is truly dark. So be careful not to press too hard unless you're going for a dramatic look. The purple however isn't as well pigmented so I'd perhaps avoid it in the future (compared to Inglot's dark purple eyeliner).
Overall, I'm very happy with this product and would definitely be repurchasing. (^.^)

This is the first pencil eyeliner I've used and it's great. I've only used liquid before and this works just as well. It doesn't smudge, however it does fade a little by the end of the day. It's creamy but it doesn't go on as smoothly as I thought it would.
The thing I hate about this product is the packaging. The sharpener that comes on the end sucks. I broke the tip off the first time I tried to sharpen it, and it got stuck so I can't really use it anymore. Now I just use an angled brush to apply it and it works fine. Because of the packaging, I probably wouldn't buy this again.

This is honestly the best pencil for the waterline! The first time I tried this stuff was two years ago - I was amazed! I never had to reapply it! I had a full day at school and I went to a football game - normally my make up is slipping and sliding at the end of all of that endurance. But this eyeliner didn't budge! It's amazing. This is the only eyeliner pencil I'll use! I've tried Maybelline's Unstoppable, etc and this blows them all out of the water! I love it. I have to reapply it twice a day AT THE MOST. And that's usually only when the weather is really hot outside...even then it doesn't smudge under my eyes giving me the "raccoon" eye. This is the best eyeliner I've ever tried...it's so amazing. :] ♥

I LOVE this eyeliner for tightlining. I am asian and I have a very small crease on my eyelid, so its easy for eyeliner to smudge throughout the day. Revlon colorstay smudges pretty bad even after I set it with black eyeshadow, although it does apply creamier and doesn't tug at my eyes as much compared to this almay liner. However, this eyeliner does not smudge at ALL and really works great for lining my upper lash line. I think revlon colorstay is great for the waterline ebcause I find it applies better and more intense than the almay. I don't often line my waterline so this is my eyeliner is perfect for me. I am on my second one and I am going to stock up on more of these

It is decent for waterline, but t is terrible on the lashline; smudges onto the upper part of my eye lid and melts below my lower lashline (especially in warm conditions).

i watched a youtube review on this, comparing it to Urban Decay's 24/7 eyeliner pencils. and it seemed like this worked just as well and for much cheaper.
so i decided to get this instead.
Pros:
i really like that it doesnt smudges. i have small eyes so eyeliner smudges really easily on me. so i like that.
Cons:
it fades. by the end of the day i look like i'm wearing faint eyeliner. i just purchase my 1st eye primer and plan to use it with this to see if that helps.
overall for this price, its a pretty good eyeliner.
i brought it for my mom and she loves it.

My favorite eye liner! Waterproof... lasts most of the day.. only smudges at the end of the night on hot summer days when my skin gets really oily... but i can make it last longer easily if i just put my revlon colorstay foundation on my eyelid before applying this... helps it stay even longer! and the black is a really good black.. if u go over it more than oncce it gets darker... and it definitely stays in your waterline.. i don't know why other ppl complained.. u just need to know how to apply it... LOVE it! perfect for everyday use!

I personally don't like this product. It smudges on my after a few hours. It's not creamy. And the sharpener sucks. I don't like the packaging because it is really flimsy and sometimes when I try putting on the eyeliner, the liner turns by itself cause it's so flimsy. I would not repurchase this. I like the Revlon colorstay eyeliner better than this one.
