I never really used Pantene, because everyone kept telling me crap about how it supposedly coats your hair with wax or whatever... My mom has used Pantene products for years though, and she honestly has the thickest, shiniest hair I've ever seen on anyone outside of a hair commercial... so I decided to try it, because if it works for my mom it can't be that bad.

I got the Ice Shine because my hair is thin, dull, dry and anything but shiny. That and the fact that it was on sale.

Anyways. I was so excited to use it, and when I finally did, I fell in love. I'm definately sticking with this for a while. I dont know how well the shampoo works on it's own, but I use it with the Ice Shine conditioner (thats how it was designed to be used) and my hair SHINES. Like for real, my hair is soo over processed and dry lately I didn't think it would do much, but my hair is actually reflecting light (aka shine) and looks super healthy! I can't wait to wash my hair again. Highly recommend.

I've been using this for close to 3 weeks. I picked it up because I need to switch to a cheaper shampoo, and my hair's been messed up since pregnancy. My hair is fine but dense, falls flat easily, and gets greasy by the end of the day.

I would definitely not recommend this shampoo for those with dry hair. It does thoroughly clean. The first few times I used it my hair was rather tangly and dry feeling, but repeated use has made it a lot better. I am using this in conjunction with the conditioner. It seems to make my hair much smoother and less rough feeling, in fact it's so silky and shiny that I have a hard time keeping ponytail holders in! And I can't stop touching it. My hair does have tons of added shine too. I think I'm gonna try sticking with this one for a while!

I've always had extremely healthy hair - thick, shiny, generally devoid of split ends. Then I went off to college, and I had to buy shampoo at the store on campus. I used Ice Shine for a month or two, and HUGE split ends had appeared in my hair, which was no longer shiny or manageable. Easily the worst product I have ever used.

I've tried other Pantene products before, but I seem to have a very negative reaction to this one. My hair started getting split ends and falling off in large chunks during shower. I think it's an allergic reaction? Anyways I don't use Pantene at all. It smells great though!

I hate this shampoo. One of the worst I've ever bought. After using it collectively with the conditioner my hair was a big, tangly, mess. It felt like I'd left conditioner in it because of the residue left over but washing it a second time did nothing to remove that feeling. My hair felt dirty and was really hard to brush.

A one slight positive I suppose could be that because of how tangled it made my hair, it gave it quite a lot of volume and my hair was big all day, however blow drying it was a nightmare so the results were a big, tatty, kinky hairstyle.

I bought this because I needed a shampoo that was a little drier or a bit on the clarifying side. I use a ridiculously heavy conditioner on my bleached hair and I need to remove build up. Really the only reason I tried this is because the package is so pretty and enticing. It also smells really good. Don't buy this if you expect moisture, but if you need just a basic shampoo this is it! Also, I didn't see much in the way of shine, but that's really not what I bought it for.

Both the shampoo and conditioner worked wonders on my hair. I have oily hair and this really controlled the greasiness while leaving my hair with a healthy, glowing shine. Will definitely purchase again~ :) The only problem was the price.

I think maybe the negative reviews are for the Ice Shine Shampoo and not the 2-in-1 Ice Shine?? I'm going to request that a new product be added...

I am not sure why everyone hated this shampoo so much. I have thin hair that gets greasy by the end of the day and when I use this shampoo, I can skip a day of shampoo! It also gives my hair body and doesn't weigh it down like other 'straight' or 'sleek' shampoos that are just too heavy for my hair.

The only thing I am a little worried about is the amount of sodium lauryl and sodium laureth sulfate that it contains which I hear isn't good for hair. I will still use this product as it really tames my oily hair and the price is just unbeatable!

~ This shampoo is gorgeous- it gives my hair gorgeous shine and makes it feel so soft! :) I really have to credit my BF, when he shops he always picks up stuff on sale and he said this seemed 'my style' LOL and he was right! A little bit of this lathers up very nicely and it does not leave my hair dry as hay after rinsing it off (most shampoo's are notorious for this) I use my Garnier leave in conditioner after this and together the two leave my hair soft, shiny and just fantastic. I'm really happy with this product! :) ~

*UPDATE*

This is now my Holy Grail shampoo- this makes my hair so shiny and gorgeous! and its a great price of course =D I highly rec this product.

This is crap as a shampoo. It dries your hair and makes it rubbery and hair to comb. Does not deliver the shine it promises. But I cannot throw away half the bottle, so instead I have discovered it makes a wonderful detergent and pimple remover. So, uh, if you've recently purchased this shampoo of death, just lather it on your pimples (stay AWAY from your eyes!) and they'll shrink. Also, it's good for various other household cleaning. Anyway, this is a crappy shampoo the end.

I mistaken this shampoo for the clarifying one. I am so used to just grab the clear one. Went home, wash my hair and found out it's not the same one!! It made my hair dry and rough....hate it.

I have probably the driest hair EVER- I am mixed race and have relaxed and dyed hair so it is super dry. I only bought this product because I couldn't find the Pantene clarifying shampoo and since both this product and the clarifying shampoo are clear I thought, 'We all know Pantene they put the same ingredients in almost every shampoo so this must be just as stripping as the clarifying one'. But it really isn't. I have tried their Smooth and sleek line - I think it's called always smooth in the US anyway the conditioner I loved but the shampoo was really drying so I kind of went off their shampoos. Back to the point I jumped in the shower and went me hair popped some of this in my hand- the consistency is like the clarifying shampoo and its is clear to it smells really clean there's really no other way to describe it. I lathered up and it foams A LOT you don;t need to use much to get a big lather. As I rinsed it out I got my detangling comb and was able to run it through my mid back length hair with ease so I was soooo surprised and that was an added bonus I couldn't believe I could detangle my hair with this. Also my hair felt soo smooth. I have been using it every day for the past 3 weeks so it's not a fluke result. Does it make hair shiney? I didn't buy it for that and I think if I wanted to judge that I would have to use the conditioner in the line to judge that.
BUT it doesn't strip my hair at all. I got it on a sale at Boots but I think the price is like £2.89 for the 400ml bottle or something to that effect- it's not expensive.
I recommend it to anyone even people with super dry hair because it's non-stripping, detangles like a dream and smells so clean. I love it I will be buying it again.

I would give this shampoo (& conditioner) 0 lipsticks is that were an option! I hate them both with a passion! Ok, so I color my hair, never use high end products to treat it, but for some reason my hair had always felt and looked good. I used different brands of drugstore shampoos & conditioners, some were better than other, but none damaged my hair like this product did! Sure, the first couple of uses things seemed ok, my hair was looking very clean and it had some nice shine to it...but then, weeks later I started to notice my hair was feeling dry, the shine was gone, and upon touching my hair it felt different, and not in a good way. So, I started using hair treatments on my hair, but for some reason, the treatments don't seem to work, it's like, they can't get in my hair. But the final straw was when my husband (we were separated for years, but recently got back together) touched my hair one day and said "what's happened to your hair, it feels dry and damaged, you used to have such soft and shiny hair...it kinda feels like a doll's hair". If you wanna read more reviews, you should check: iheatalize's and cholielynn's reviews, they both provide great descriptions on hair's texture after using this shampoo.

Hmm..this isnt so bad, but after reading some of the "dandruff" related comments below ive realized that although it make my hair nice and shiny n clean, it may have been the reason of my sudden dandruff =S . Um..im nt using this anymore, ive started using Head and shoulders n my hair is great, and no dandruff either...ok so pantene was the problem! thanks

Pantene is bad for your hair!!!! It coats your hair strands with wax and builds up over time. I am a hair stylist and I can usually guess when someone is using pantene because their hair is so tangly and sticky feeling! Do yourselves a favor and buy Paul Mitchell's Shampoo 3 to help remove the wax build up and also any mineral deposits or medication thats in your hair!
