This mascara is proof that there is no need who shell out lots of money on high end department store brands to get good results. I have tried lots of mascaras from MAC and MUFE to Dior, Chanel and Lancome, Estee Lauder, L'Oreal, Maybelline, you name it, and this one by NYX was by far the cheapest: I got it discounted and at a sale at Cherry Culture, so I ended up paying around 3.5 euros. Maybelline's cheapest mascara is nearly 10 € in Spain, so you get an idea of how cheap NYX's really was.
As with all mascaras, you need to get the hang of it in the beginning. The brush has an hourglass shape so if you are used to normal thick wands, it may be a little tricky in the beginning (you will probably get blobs of mascara at the corners of your eyes) but after two uses, you will become a pro. Results are adjustable, just like with any other mascara: if you insist at the roots, you will look like you have thicker lashes; if you just work your way from root to tip, your lashes will appear longer. Just for your information, my lashes are nothing special, neither too long nor too short but they felt and looked impeccable with this mascara, whether for lighter or more dramatic looks.
It has to be mentioned that this is a tube mascara, with the formula not being very runny but not too dry either. That being said, try not to be overzealous with this at the tips of your lashes or you will see little mascara tubes sticking out. Also due to the tube formula, it doesn't smear at all and it is actually the first time I have encountered that with a non waterproof mascara. We have been having 40ºC/104ºF here lately; I put it on at 07.00 am, and at 08.00 pm there is still no trace of mascara under my eyes.
A definite repurchase for me, this one and the Volume one, which is the same thing but with a different name.

I've been using this for a week now, so I'm ready to give my honest and fair opinion... I LOVE IT! I already have long lashes, but this does a great job of giving me beautiful, all-day lash separation. No clumps, even after several sweeps. It's not big on volume, but that's okay because that isn't what I was looking for. The thing I focus most on when looking for a "keeper" mascara is that it holds a curl, and this does an excellent job of keeping my curl. My long lashes stay curled, separated and clump-free. The formula is dry but it keeps my lashes soft and fluttery. I'm so very happy with this mascara. I'm so impressed and will continue to purchase NYX products! : )

One of my HG mascaras. The formula isn't too wet and it's thick, I find it doesn't take that long to dry. It's given me the longest lashes I've been able to get from a mascara in one coat (and I'm a mascara junkie, I've tried quite a few!). It's not so great on volume so maybe if I got the volume version and used a coat of both it would be better. Not sure, gotta try that :) To be honest I would prefer a curved brush but the wand it has is not too bad. I haven't had any clumping problems. I like the packaging and the 'Doll eye' name is so cute :) I would definitely repurchase.

I personally didn't enjoy using this mascara. I did achieve decent length and volume, but the brush and wear of this mascara I detested. The brush's hourglass shape didn't distribute the product evenly and always ended up with clumps and lumps. Within a few hours I always noticed flakes and big time smudges under my eyes. I will not be repurchasing and can't recommend it.

I bought this mascara about a month ago and I am very pleased with it. I have long lashes to begin with, this one lengthens them more and gives them volume without making me look like a clown. It has a soft, pretty look to it, and looks quite natural.. Pretty packaging, too! Remains clump free after several coats... Definitely a mascara worth trying.

I love this mascara...I dont wear a lot of make up but I am picky about what I do wear. Mascara is one thing that I have endlessly searched for my HG. This is pretty much it!
Leaves my lashes soft, curled, adds volume and length to my sparse short lashes. Best of all, it is so easy to get off!! I also tear a lot and it does not smudge. Lasts all day w/o smudge or flaking. Occasionally I notice flakes but I think its from the concealer I wear being too creamy. I just love this mascara. Kind of the same effect as Lancome Hypnose. To be honest, if I were to do a blind test I dont think I would be able to tell the difference between the two!

i'm not blown away by this mascara, i have pretty long lashes already so it doesn't make a shocking difference. however, this mascara does make my eyelashes look their prettiest somehow. soft and natural looking with a bit of a curl, perfect for a just mascara and blush day.
edit: this is my new favourite mascara - it has really grown on me!

This is my favourite mascara so far. My lashes are thin, stick straight, short and blonde; i.e. they need all the help they can get. This mascara makes them longer, thicker, nicely separated and jet black. It has never smudged or flaked on me. And it's cheap! The only down side with this mascara is that it dries up quite fast, in two months or so. But I can live with that since it makes my lashes look so long and full.
I have gone through many of these and I plan to go through many more!

Hmm I think I might have to try this mascara in warmer temps? It did make my eye lashes long but it clumped when I applied a second coat... Or if I didnt apply the 1st coat just right... I wear contacts and the clumping would flake and irritate my eyes... I want to try it again possibly in the summer.

I love this mascara, it does not clump and the brush is great. Lasts all day and easily removed with regular eye makeup remover.

Perhaps this was on the shelf at Ulta a little too long, for try as I
might, this mascara did not perform as I expected it to based on the glowing MUA reviews.

The price is reasonable & that's about all I can say that's postive about this product. This took ages to build any length and it clumped up way too easily! After two coats, it looked like I had nothing on my lashes. I also found that NYX - Doll Eye Long Lash flaked off continually during the day.

After a week of trying to make this work I gave up and demoted this to the job of all fourth-rate mascaras: that of being a Root Touch-Up kit for those pesky gray's around the temples & hairline.

Re. NYX -

** NYX's line is a find in all other respects. Their eyeliners, shadows, lip glosses and blushes are top-notch and tremendous value.

This mascara certainly does what it's supposed to. My lashes looked incredibly long. I'll probably try the volume one next time since that's more of the issue for my lashes, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to buying this one again. The price is good and I liked the brush better than others I've used.

This is a great lengthening mascara. Makes my eyelashes so long they touch that space right above my crease if I look down. It is just a lengthening mascara, though, doesn't add much volume or anything else. Might be good to use with another mascara.

I think this is my go-to mascara right now, and I am quite the mascara scavenger. The length and curl you get from this is AMAZING. I love it. It doesn't clump and my lashes look like fakes. I use l'oreal lash serum as a primer then apply this. I highly recommend this product, and for such a low price, it's perfect.

I grabbed this on a whim and was unimpressed. It's not a bad formula: it's easy to remove, doesn't clump or smudge, and lengthens lashes. I just prefer MAC's Zoom Lash or even as a substitute CG Lashblast (orange tube) because they offer the benefits of this mascara plus the extra volume that makes lashes appear more lush. This mascara is decent but there are others that suite my wants better. I typically like a more dramatic, dark lash and I have long lashes-- so for someone that is looking for a reasonably priced lengthening true black mascara that provides a more natural look, this may be a good option. I guess I shouldn't keep buying lengthening formulas when I have long lashes..whoops.

I absolutely love this mascara! I've been using Double Extend Beauty Tubes for nearly 2 years now, and still do occasionally. The Doll Eyes lengthens just as well, but it doesn't have that extra step. I've started getting impatient with having to prime my lashes first. For a one-step mascara, this is the best I've tried. And I got it on clearance at Ulta. What's not to love??

This is a really good lengthening mascara! You can create such a dramatic long lash with this... I can't use it on my lower lashes though as it looks pretty ridiculous down there. It holds a curl really well and for and drugstore mascara is pretty amazing! The only thing I wish was different was that it could be waterproof that would be so much better.

This had potential to be a good mascara but I found it was very thick and dry. Maybe I just got a bad tube? The name was what sucked me in as I have one of those unhealthy obsessions with dolls and would kill to look like one. This was OK but not great. It was a lot more expensive than the one I'd been using before it so I was kinda cross when it wasn't great.
