Okay this is going to seem premature (it's only been 3 days) but sometimes it's just love at first sight. LOVE this foundation and I am truly a self-proclaimed foundation addict. I won't even begin to rattle off the list I've tried (hell, there's about 20 bottles sitting somewhere in my bathroom right now) but let's just say "been there, done that."
I have combination skin, around a MAC NC30 and bought this in Natural after a brief online session with one of La Mer's people. It is just right. Slighly yellow undertones and just the right depth of color.
This foundation goes on beautifully (I use EM's flat top brush to apply) and I love how you can control how big of a pump you want. A little goes a long way for medium coverage. When left alone it provides a somewhat luminous finish (definitely NOT greasy as I am extremely wary of anything that will make me greasy) but I set with La Mer's loose powder (also in natural and also a winner) for a beautiful finish. This stuff lasts too! I gave it the ol' "drive around in 80 degree, full sun with the convertible top down" and it passed with flying colors.
If I have to I will update this review but so far it's well on its way to being my first true HG foundation.

I purchased the creme version of this last week (absolutely love it!), and was given a few samples of this liquid version to try as well. I was so happy with the samples that I went back to Saks last night, and purchased a full bottle. I absolutely love this liquid foundation for during the day (it seems lighter, at least to me, so it's perfect for work), since there is less coverage and it's lighter than the creme. Just like all La Mer products, this is expensive at $75, but once again a little goes a long way, and you don't need much to do your whole face. I love how my skin looks with this foundation, and the fact that it doesn't oxidize on me. When the time comes, I will be purchasing this again. I'm keeping this review short, since I've pretty much said everything in the review I did for the creme foundation, so check that out as well.
For reference I am:
MAC NW20ish (I'm a bit lighter, but too dark for NW15)
Chanel Gentle Ivory/0.8 (a bit too yellow)
YSL Perfect Touch Foundation #5 (a bit too yellow)
Armani Designer Compact Foundation #5 (too yellow)
La Mer Ivory (perfect match)

I wear the color "carame"l in this liquid foundation because i am asian and have tanned olive skin. After reviewing the product on makeup alley, hearing good things about this foundation, i decided to give it a try and the results turned better than what i thought! This foundation isn't like any other foundation i have tried, it melts in your skin and makes it soft so it doesn't look like i was wearing a mask. Eventhough it is very expensive, it is worth what it is. My skin looked flawless.

My skin is oily, yet dehydrated...it gets scaley but at the same time, inordinately shiny. This hydrated my skin and made it feel less thirsty but did not feel too heavy. My skin actually felt softer than before I used it. It gives a nice, dewy sheen, emulating healthy, glowing skin. Will rebuy...although it costs an arm and a leg for just a bottle of foundation. =T

One review above said that there was no silicone in the product. This is incorrect. The third ingredient, cyclopentasiloxane, is silicone (check wikipedia!)

Being a makeup artist, I normally use professional products, such are MAC, Shu Uemura or Bobby Brown. This is by far the best foundation I've ever tried on myself. I wasn't actually expecting La Mer to be good in makeup, but I was blown away by the sheer quality of the foundation and the powder. I normally use Chanel Teint Innocence or Giorgio Armani LF, which are both great products, but this one is simply in another league. The lady at Selfridges allowed me to play with the foundation myself and therefore helped me to see how easy it is to apply it. You just need the tiniest amount, much less than what I'd normally use with other brands. It blends in perfectly, provides an excellently natural but equally efficient coverage. Then I used the La Mer powder to set it. I wear it for hours and hours and it just stays as perfect as it was applied in the morning. Hugely recommended.

I have to say this is the best foundation that I have tried to date. I thought the Cle de Peau was wonderful but this beats it and it's less expensive. Colorwise I am a MAC C3 so the Ivory was a perfect match. The next step up Creme was a bit to dark. A little goes such a long way. The SA said that there are treatment properties in this foundation. Not sure what that means but my skin does love this foundation. I have tried just about every high end foundation out there and this is the best...LOVE IT!

I got hooked on this foundation when I was an SA for La Mer. We all recieved a full size bottle to keep and I hadn't tried it till I ran out of my Armani LSF. Holy Moly! Same lovely texture of the Armani without the silicone! Not as luminous, but I consider that a plus. My skin also improved after a couple of weeks of using this. A little goes a long way with this product(I also use my 187 brush to apply so VERY little is needed)so I was able to use this for almost 6 months. Unfortunately, by that time, I no longer worked for La Mer and had to pay full price(OUCH!). It's so worth it..my skin never looked better. I do have to say, contrary to one of the reviews below, this foundation DOES NOT contain the La Mer miracle broth but does contain red, green and blue tourmaline which not only contributes to the soft luminosity of the finish but forifies the skin and strengthens its natural barrier function. As a result redness is reduced, fine lines are minimized and overall more even tone to the skin. If you don't mind morgaging your house for beauty, definitely give this a shot!

This is a lovely rich foundation - medium coverage. I think it covers my late twenties skin where is needs to be covered but looks really glowy as well. The 'ivory' shade looks nice and natural on me.
I've worn it a couple of times over Christmas and am a bit worried it may be to blame for a couple of red blemishes which aren't spots or itchy but just look like some sort of irritation. I'd be disapppointed if it is due to this foundation though as I like it as a 'special occasion' foundation for when I really want my skin to look good!
On the downside is the price - £60 in the UK!!! (My sister got this free at work and gave to me as her ecezema-prone skin is way too sensitive to use any foundation). Also the glass packaging looks high quality but wouldn't travel well.
Edit: I tried this again recently and have knocked a couple of stars of. It just doesn't agree with my skin - after a few hours it had made it simultaneously dehydrated (whatever shimmery light-reflecting elements it has only serve to emphasise this) but with surface grease.

I'm hooked on La Mer products and this foundation lives up to my high expectations. Even though I have a combo/oily in T zone skin this foundation works great layered over L.M. oil absorbing moisturizer -- and it's not an oil-free foundation (I use #9)! One pump covers my face (I use Sephora foundation brush -- no streaks here) and gives a very luminous radiant finish. I don't have many skin problems, so I'm not sure how this would work on someone that does -- but it evens out skin tone and the finish is this great skin that doesn't look like I'm wearing any makeup. On days when I need more coverage and oil control I'd finish with LM loose powder and Chanel blush in Incognito. I also like the idea that this product also contains the miracle broth ingredients to help condition my skin. Unlike some of the other reviewers I don't notice any off-putting smell about this foundation = perhaps it's a matter of personal preference and ceratin sensitivity to product smells (which I do have a lot of when it comes to lipsticks!)
Foundation is more on the expensive side, but given that you only use v. little of it every day I think it's more cost and value efficient than many less expensive products.

Love it! For years I sought the perfect foundation, buying high-end products like La Mer and Cle du Peau. The La Mer foundation is the best. Be sure to check the shade though. I usually wear the lightest or second to lightest shade a company makes but in La Mer, I wear #3. The pump bottle is fabulous, too.
For those who tried the old La Mer foundation and didn't like it, be assured this new foundation is nothing like that! Much, much, much improved.

Am I the only one who has a problem with the ODOR of this product?
I just got a sample of this today. Went home, washed and moisturized my face, then tried the foundation on. In fact, I'm wearing it as I'm writing this review. I'm liking the sheer coverage so far. I also like that it has skin treatment qualities (supposedly). BUT, everytime I move my head, I get a whiff of the foundation -- it has quite an offensive odor! I don't have a complete list of its ingredients, but is VINEGAR one of them, by any chance? I can sure smell an acidic, vinegarry odor. And NO, it's not me, it's the foundation, really. LOL. I smelled the contents of the sample vial given to me, and the foundation indeed smelled like it had vinegar in it.

The treatment fluid is my HG foundation. It's sheer coverage foundation that add radiant to your complexions as well. The color creme suits my NC20 skin well. The foundation is easy to glide and give you natural finish. The foundation has many antioxidant and moisturizing ingredients in it. It can clog pores, but so does other foundations.
If you're looking for the sheer coverage foundation, this one is a good try

Buff 3 is the exact colour match for my face (NC35). At first it was waaay too hydrating, on the border of being oily, but obviously it sinks into my skin nicely and lasts all day. I purchased samples off of eBay, as it is shamelessly expensive, and I wouldn't buy it at the current price, as my Chanel Teint Innocence is almost (90%) as good and also much cheaper. This gives natural, but luminous coverage and my face looks flawless. However, I do have to blot it after 2 hours or so, so watch out if your face is combination to oily, you might want to try a sample first.

I have been using this foundation on and off for nearly a year now and I can honestly say that it's the best foundation I've ever used. It's absolute perfection!!! It comes in a beautiful pump bottle, and unlike other pump bottles, you really have control over how much comes out. Secondly, I have NEVER found a better color match in any foundation before (and please trust me when I say that I've tried them all!). Creme 01 matches my light olive skin *perfectly*. It doesn't even look like I'm wearing makeup! I have dry, sensitive skin and this foundation is actually hydrating enough for me, and has never caused me any breakouts. If anything, my skin has looked better than ever since I starting wearing it! Afterall, it is a *treatment* foundation. And at this point, why else would I risk putting anything else on my face? Sure you could pay less and get similar results from a MAC foundation, but you will most likely experience clogged pores and breakouts! I also purchased the La Mer foundation brush, and it really makes a big difference! I usually HATE foundation brushes too, but this one doesn't leave streaks and applies the foundation perfectly. (I've tried plenty of other foundation brushes too, and La Mer's leaves them in the dust!!) The only downside is the price. $75 for the foundation, $40 for the brush. But as I said, it's SO worth it.

Everything was pretty promising until it was time to face the colours.......they are too YELLOW!!!
seriously.. I have light asian skin but this was way too yellowy. The texture's very nice though, it gives a very nice glow without being greasy and it didn't cause any breakouts. However its quite sheer. Giorgio Armani liminous silk type of coverage is what I am looking for but this didn't really cover anything except giving a nice overall sheen. Also the nice glow thing turned border-line greasy by the end of the day on my combo skin.
I am now mixing this with makeup forever violet base to lighten and soften the yellow-ness. I decided I have to use this as I feel guilty spending rather alot on this very sporadically in selfridges. so my search continues...

This is the best foundation i have ever used, perfect natural flawless finish, good texture, unfortunately it is the caused of my breakout, since i started using it, after stop using it 90% acne is gone within a week!
poison for me, i wish i could use it forever!

Read the review and thought I should try it out.
On the very first time wearing it I didn't like it already. But since reading the review here I figured maybe if would give it a chance. Again and again I tried, didn't like it and still don't like it. I don't understand what is the hype all about?
Texture seems too dry for me. Doesn't go on as nice as it should for the price. Much like Chanel still.
So it's true just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's the best.
What was I thinking buying this expensive fluid?!
Age: 19-24 Skin: Other Hair: Other Eyes: Other
This foundation was ok..i didnt really like the color selections. I bought the loose powder which I loved, it goes well with the foundation. I dont think I would buy this again because it was too expensive and I know there are better if not the same foundations out there that are cheaper.

I was really hoping I wouldn't like this foundation, but unfortunately for my wallet, it is the best I've tried so far. My latest had been Chanel Double Perfection Fluide in Nude, and while I was happy with it, I just had to try this. I bought it in 01 Creme and it is a perfect color match for me. I use this over Creme de la Mer and it gives me just the coverage I need with a dewey finish. I guess the only way I can really describe the finish is My-Skin-But-Better. My skin looks great and I don't feel like I even have any foundation on. And even with a magnifying mirror, it doesn't look like I have foundation on. I LOVE this product!!! I don't use very much and the pump lets me dispense just the amount I need. It is very expensive, but the bottle will probably last a very long time. I will definitely repurchase when I do run out. For reference, I'm 37 with very oily acne-prone skin. This hasn't caused any breakouts either.
