Being a semi-product snob for ages I would never have bought this if it was not for this board. I have to this is the best shampoo I have used for years. Its leaves my fine, oily hair bouncy, smooth and does not break me out. This is def. a repurchase for me and I am checking out their other lines too.

I remember not too long ago seeing someone post this question on one of the boards: "Are high-end shampoos really that much better than drugstore?" Here's my answer: If you're wanting a specific special function out of it...such as volumizing, straightening, etc...then yes, I'd say you get what you pay for. But, if all you want it a basic, get-my-hair-nice-and-clean shampoo, then you don't need to spend a lot of money. Case in point: Suave Strawberry shampoo. A measly 82 cents at Wal-Mart will get you squeaky clean, manageable hair...with the bonus of smelling sooooooooo good! (This stuff smells infinitely better than my Philosophy Stwarberry Milkshake 3-in-1, that costs a helluva lot more.) So really...get this shampoo. Even if you're a die-hard high-end 'poo kinda gal, you're gonna love this.

This is a good shampoo that cleans well, lathers well, and smells great. I used to be a shampoo snob, but not anymore. I can get a huge 22 oz. bottle of the Suave Strawberry shampoo and conditioner at Target for $2 and change! It's a great deal for a product that does the job and leaves your hair softly scented. A nice fruity scent!

Refreshing strawberry smell. I get mixed reviews from my stylist when I tell her I use Suave. Some tell me that my hair is great, but that I'm using a drying formula. I try to alternate with this shampoo and salon shampoos.

I have always loved this shampoo. It's the smell, mainly. It's my favorite in the summer time---it just puts me in the best mood when I smell it. It's a very gentle, basic shampoo---I use it to break up the monotony of my salon shampoos---you know, they work great, but they don't always smell so light, fun, and uplifting. This is also my go-to choice after a night out with my hair stinking of stale bar air and cigarette smoke. I can't EVEN go to bed with my hair on the pillow smelling like that! It gets my hair CLEAN and the scent makes me feel safe and fresh. I will forever be buying this stuff.

1st of all, I used salon shampoos for years bcoz I have chemically straightened hair. Anyway, I found this great, totally cheap(its almost free) shampoo at walmart last week. Smells strong. I use it with the matching conditioner. Heck, use lots of it~ Will buy it again if I need it... =)

Wow. Cheap shampoo that smells good and works well! For some reason, my hair really sucks. It can only handle any one shampoo for about 2-3 weeks before my hair starts drying ut & getting all crappy & linp, no matter what shampoo I use. I decided to try Suave's strawberry shampoo just b/c it smelled good & it was a whopping 89 cents at Wal-Fart. So far I like it a lot! It cleans well & didn't dry out my hair, and it works well as a body wash too. Nice stuff. Smells GREAT.

Suave strawberry shampoo smells just like sweet strawberries and the price doesn't get any cheaper. The pink gel lathers very good and rinses clean and leaves hair clean. Very basic cleansing shampoo- good for kids and can work for normal to oily hair. I have used it as a deep cleaning shampoo for my color treated normal hair, (normal at the roots, that is, my ends are very dry and fragile.) But I can't use it everyday. It is my son's favorite shampoo.

My favorite thing about this shampoo was the beautiful smell and pretty packaging, plus it's great price (only around $2 regularly). The smell is very strawberry-ish and it leaves some scent on your hair! It also cleans effectivly and comes in a good size bottle. Would buy again!

Please excuse the egg all over my face as I write this review. About a year ago, I wrote off all drugstore shampoos as cheap formulas that dry out my coarser, Asian hair (I also live in an area w/ hard water). I started feeling all smug w/ my salon shampoo bottles lined up in the shower, and even forayed into the world of styling products, namely glossing creams. Here's the thing: using a certain salon line (*cough* Matrix *cough cough*) made it necessary (not optional) to use those darn creams to combat the frizzed-out, dried-out finish it left in my hair. Fast forward to now (and skipping a lot of boring details and side stories), and I find myself lathering and conditioning my head w/ Suave, and marveling at how much better my hair feels -- even w/o the hair cream. True, it's not the softest or silkiest it's ever felt, but the results you get for your money are really surprising. As for the "Mountain Strawberry" claim itself, it's definitely a synthetic scent, but not bad. More like a strawberry punch, gum, or Kool-Aid one. One small drawback to this formula is that I use more per shower than the salon stuff, but you can practically buy this for pennies, so it balances out. I will be checking out other scents in the Suave line.UPDATE 3/26/04: I spoke too soon. Just an okay shampoo for me.

I love this shampoo. It's smells great. I always seem to go back to using this one. It smells great, leaves my hair soft and clean plus it's super cheap. I purchased 10 Bottles at Walgreens a few months ago for only $1. Yeah, $1 for 10. Super good deal. Plus I sometimes like to use this as bodywash or handsoap. =) Nice and cheap. =D

This is a fantastic, gentle shampoo that leaves your hair squeaky clean. It lathers beautifully and does a wonder job of clarifying my hair and scalp. It seems gentle enough to use every day.

The scent is a little on the synthetic side, but it fortunately doesn't linger.

Best of all, this product is super inexpensive and readily available in drugstores.

I've been following this up with Nioxin Moisture and Strength conditioner for dry/chemically processed hair, and the results are fantastic!

I think this shampoo is as good as the Nioxin Protectives Cleanser (for dry/chemically processed hair), which I also really like for my incredibly thick, wavy, dry hair. If I had to choose between the Nioxin shampoo and the Suave I would select the Suave due to the modest price.

I thought I was getting a mediocre, drying shampoo because of the price...but I was wrong! This is very gentle and non-drying. My hair is silky and soft even without conditioner(you might need one if your hair is on the dry side)! You can feel it working while washing your hair...no tangles and hair feels slippery.
But since I'm a shampoo whore :), I plan to use it only when my hair needs a clarifying break from my normal shampoo(Fresh-Vive).
Excellent buy..under a buck at Wal-mart.

Paula Begoun recommends this as a clarifying shampoo and it's my HG for this. Gentle even for colored/ highlighted hair. There is never a time when I don't have a bottle of this. I have a clarifying poo by Kenra and B2B and while they are good too, why spend $10 when you can spend 89 cents?

Well, this didn't clean my hair as well as Finesse's clarifying shampoo does. The strawberry scent is a bit artificial and I didn't get very much lather out of it, even after repeating after the first wash. It would be good for kids, but I don't think it's strong enough to handle my oily roots/dry ends hair.

I went through a strawberry CRAZE recently and found this shampoo. Love the fragrance so much, I put it into a pump to use as hand soap in my guest bath.
