This is a great lippie. It's the perfect nudeish but brightish pink (as in my lip color but better) for my NC25-30 skin. I do sometimes like to pair it with a nudey-pink lipgloss just to give it that extra oomph. Miss Marble Lipglass from the Colorcraft Collection goes really good with it, so does Mimmy from the Hello Kitty Collection and Real Nude from NYX. This color has just the right amount of pink for me.
Will purchase again.

I bought this lipstick a week ago from my local MAC counter. I originally went in to pick up MAC's Snob lipstick, but chose this one because it suited my very pale skin. It is a very nice color, but you can't be heavy handed with this. If you just swipe it on all willy nilly, it may come out looking fake. I usually apply it, blot a little and add a tiny bit of lip gloss. The formula could stand to be creamier, but I expected the texture with a Matte lipstick. I'd say if you're thinking about getting the color, just do it. It's such a girly muted pink.

I am Indian, wheatish in complexion. When I first tried it at the mac counter it stood as a very different colour so the impulsive shopper that I am, i eventually bought it. But when i tried it in day light it appeared so chalky, pale. Strictly a no-no for an Indian Skin!
Now the question would i buy this again? Definately NO, but despite the bad colour the texture and the smell of the lipstick is fabolous.

Pink Plaid stood out to me because it is similar to my favourite colour, Syrup, and close to my other favourite (although very unwearable colour) Snob. What I love about this lipstick is that it is a wearable hybrid of the 2. It is Syrup kicked up a notch, and Snob pared down a bit. Unlike Snob, your teeth actually look whiter instead of yellow and is perfect for my skin tone. I could see this colour ebing very fickle with a lot of skintones so I suggest buying in store where it can be returned if it doesn't work out. When I put on foundation, I put it on my lips too which tones down this lippie a bit, then I put clear gloss on top and voila. It reminds me of a more interesting California Dreamin also.

this is one of my hg lipsticks right now. im normally into really bright pinks and reds because i didnt think i could pull off the light pink lip. pink plaid is my perfect shade, it gives me that pale pink look without making me look sick like some others do. i definitely recommend this!

I love MATTES. Pink Plaid has got to me my favorite lipstick of the moment. Especially with the more natural/bronzed looks. Just recently I tried it with Chrome Yellow all over the lid, Mascara, Raizin Blush for contour and man did I look fierce! Try it ladies!

Pink Plaid is a sister of Please Me, just a little more mauve/plum than Please Me. This is one of my go-to pink mattes, just the perfect combination of pink & mauve, not too light, not too dark. If you're are looking for a gorgeous unique pink matte, try this!

I got this last week with my Back-to-MAC turn-in. I have so many reds, pinks, fuchsias, etc and I have been wanting to find a nice neutral pink for my PPP skin. Pink Plaid is a matte and I really do love mattes. The color is a light pink nude with really leans towards a powdery pink tone. Urban Decay's 24/7 lip pencil in Wicked really pairs well with this.
I like this color but for some reason, I feel there is something lacking. I cannot put my finger on it but something about this color is making me not love it totally.
I think I am going to try putting on MAC's Dazzleglass in Steppin' Out or MAC's original clear to see if that helps.
Again, I like this color but I think the matte texture may be better suited for the darker tones. I also believe that a satin or cream formula would make this color much better.

i got this brand new from a sale for like 8 bucks,
this is a matte blue tone pink.
if u have slightly yellowish skin tone like myself. this is not the BEST color for u. still wearable but i just find the color slightly out of place on my skin tone.
and u can never wear this lipstick ALONE> it will look like someone paste pink clay over the lips and that clay got dry somehow. LOL.
always use this color with a lipgloss. i use it with a clear lipgloss always. just like we always use it with nude matte colors. same goes here

This is alright, but I never wear it alone, or else it looks like a purple dry lip :/ NOT hot... but it can be pretty paired with clear gloss or a lighter lippie to tone it down. Don't think I will repurchase but will probably use what I have.

This is a nice basic, brightish bubble gum pink IMO. I wear it w/ a nude liner & something like Prr or Lip 65 lipglass for a sweet baby pink look. A little drying since it's a matte so def. use balm under it. Wouldn't buy again just cuz it's not a thrilling color but I'll continue to use what I have.
Me (redhead) wearing Pink Plaid below.

My rating is solely based on the color of Pink Plaid since I’m a HUGE fan of MAC’s matte l/s, so it goes without saying that I love the formula. The formula was actually the reason I even tried Pink Plaid.
On me, a PPP (nw15) this is a light, muted rose/pink with a strong dose of violet...COOL toned l/s (since it’s blue based). Looks darker in the tube than it seems to be on my lips. It’s light enough that it tones down my pigmented lips and helps them to blend in with the rest of my face but the blue/violet tone keeps Pink Plaid from being a natural looking pink. Oddly, this color makes my green eyes shine like emeralds and that’s always a plus!
This is a beautiful color, if not a little bit strange...it confuses me a lot of the time and I’m not real sure what to think of it. Maybe it’s just because I’m not used wearing blue-pinks, or really any pink at all (I’m a nude kinda girl :P). While I’ve been feeling more and more comfortable wearing it, I’m still a little hesitant to put it on. I’m afraid it looks SO obvious without it being a color that seems like it’s meant to be obvious. I blot it on and then sheer it out for a light coat, I don't think I could *ever* wear it heavily.
Pink Plaid looks different in various lighting as well. I prefer the way it looks with outdoor lighting the best...it seems a bit more natural and it’s muted pink comes out a bit more than the blue/violet. Florescent lighting seems to bring out the blue/violet and this is where I get a little squeamish about wearing it. I’m unsure if I’d repurchase...I want Pink Plaid to become a staple but I need to feel more comfortable with it. I've been wearing it off and on for about 3 weeks so hopefully as time goes on, I will.
nw15, light brown/dark blonde hair, light green eyes.

This lipstick looks AWFUL on my very tan skin... it totally clashes with my skintone. Plus the color is not what I wanted or expected... it shows up as a medium matte rosy color... too rosy, too dull and not pale enough for my taste. I wanted a loud color that would show up as a very loud-pale almost nudish matte bubblegum pink, but this isn't like that at all!!! gotta disagree very much with the reviewers saying this is a loud bubblegum pink, absolutely not, it isn't loud neither a bubblegum pink at all!!! it's a very boring, flat, medium, very blue toned matte rosy color. Just a plain extremely blue and dull rosy color which absolutely doesn't lean on the nude side or on the mauve side AT ALL, but it does extremely on the blue side and it has a subtle vivid purplish thing going on which is what stops this from being a nude color (the mix between pink and blue), even though it's a dull color. MAC describes it as "dirty blue pink" and that's pretty accurate, except that I would say it's more of a "dull medium dirty blue rose pink". It's a matte so it has no shimmer at all. I also think this lipstick would look horrible and would totally clash on anyone with olive, golden or golden beige undertones or with latin features just like me, I think it would look better on people with pink undertones. The only thing I like about it is that it's a matte and has an amazing matte-creamy texture with full coverage, it's really long lasting and gives a great color payoff. Too bad the color sucks=(

This lipstick was disappointing. I recieved it in a swap as BN and now will swap it as Tested 1x. It is a blue based pale pink. I am a warm toned GGG and this really washed me out. I looked like I was cold or dead or both. It is VERY matte and I felt like that aspect was really drying. This is definately one that I won't be buying/swapping for again.

My new HG of lipsticks, and I don't say that lightly! VERY matte, which is one reason I thought I wouldn't like it because I am generally a glossy kinda girl, but this color is SO classy. Wear it alone for a very sophisticated look, or wear it on top of MAC Magenta lip liner for a little kick...if you want to REALLY magnify it, wear the liner and some pink gloss with it...gorgeous.

A beautiful blue based medium pink shade that looks gorgeous with my cool toned skin. I can see how this could look awful on some skin tones, but if you generally look good in cool pinks then I definitely reccomend this. It's perfect- not too bright, but absolutely doesn't fade into the background. It has a matte finish and is slightly drying and can definitely accentuate both dryness and lines in lips. I suggest wearing a clear gloss over it if you have such problems. I am really happy with my purchase and would defiitely purchase again.

I love the formula of this lipstick--it's matte, but non-drying. By itself, the color is a rather loud bubble-gum pink. Definitely not something I'd wear every day or even most days. BUT, mixed with mac's Twig lipstick, it turns into the most beautiful, muted pink which is perfect against my cool-toned PPP complexion. I wish they made a color like this, because it would be my HG!

This color is similar to Pink Nouveau, which I purchased along with this lipstick, but is a slightly toned-down version with the blue levels turned way up. Slightly more casual, slightly less vivid and visible, but it's still a bright color. Also, a very odd color...hard to place. It's not really striking enough to be a 'loud' color, but it isn't neutral or quiet enough to be called an everyday color. Texture-wise, this lipstick wins– frost-free, shimmer-free, matte but without the dryness of a MAC Matte formula lipstick. It would probably clash with certain skin types, but it's definitely a shade worth checking out.
