This is a very light cream and it really does what it promises to do. I use it both night and day, as it is light enough to be used during the day. I have normal to dry skin. The cream has a light nice fragrance, light creamy texture. It really tightens, lifts, firms and tones your skin, giving it a very nice healthy glow. Prior to trying this cream, I have been using Cle de Peau La Creme for over 5 years. (Although CdP La Creme is also very good, it is rather rich and cannot be used during the day unless your skin is super dry. Also, CdP is A LOT more expensive.) The Guerlain Orchidee cream appears to get rid of the two laughter lines that have been bothering me (I hardly have any other lines except for these two) which, other creams cannot get rid off (including Sisley Line Reducer Serum, CdP La Creme). I am actually using this cream on my left half of the face and using the Amore Pacific on the right half of the face just to compare the two products. Over one month of testing, I find that my face looks much healthier, glowing, lifted and well toned. I hardly need to use any foundation, except when I really want a well made-up look. Everyone who has not seen me for a couple weeks or so would comment on how nice I look and wondering what I have done to myself. I will definitely switch from CdP to either this Guerlain Orchidee or the Amore Pacific Time Response Cream (still have not decided since they are so close in performance, except the latter feels a bit more silkier and lighter). As for the price, I think it is very reasonable ($350 for 1.7oz), since it is a very high performance cream, comes in very large quantity that will last for a very long time. Also, one actually saves money when using this cream since it alone does all the work. There is no need to use any other serums in conjunction with this cream.

I bought this at Harrods just today and have used it only once before declaring myself to be the most stupid person on earth for shelling out good money for this...I am 25 and have (primarily because of stress, lack of sleep etc) started to see the "first signs of aging". I have also never tried Guerlain products before.

I had heard good things about this cream and being a person who likes to have a minimal skin care regime ie. I only use one or two products if I can help it (I'm really lazy!!!) I listened with glee at what the sales assistant told me; chiefly that this is an all in one product.

Got home, almost excited about putting this cream on and trying it out to see how it feels - it was awful...The perfume is sooo strong that the cream made my skin itch and tingle but not in a good way. Nevertheless I massaged a bit into my skin but found that the vapour of the perfume coming off of the cream actually stung my eyes!! I washed it off (vigorously) and even as I'm writing this my eyes are still stinging. I don't even know if this is gonna work and I don't want to know!

I don't have sensitive skin at all, so I can assume that this product is just far too strong for me. I'm going back to my CDLM, which I have just put on to soothe my skin. Also tried on the La Mer lifting serum in-store (feels very nice), so may take a closer look at that to get rid of any lines.

My advice is to use this on skin which is truly in need of repair and may be less sensitive. Oh and never buy over-priced creams when itching to spend money in one form or another...as I have a tendancy to do...definitely try before you buy!

I tried this cream after getting a small tube as a sample in the latest Neiman Marcus Gift Bag (free with an $85 purchase). The tube lasted three days, using it morning and night. My sister, whom I hadn't seen in about a month accused me of having "something done". When I assured her that I hadn't, she demanded to know what I was using that was new. The Orchidee cream was the only thing new in my repitoire of skincare.
My sister tells me that I am a skincare snob, since 95% of my daily cleansing and moisturizing is High End. That may be true, but at the same time, I need to see performance from the products I'm using. I feel like that, for me to notice a change, it really has to be something.
This new cream has been nothing short of unbelievable for me! I like this better than La Mer, Cle de Peau La Cream, La Prairie Skin Caviar Cream, etc.
Now I have to figure out how to "obtain" all the sample sizes that people got in their (multiple?) NM Gift Bags. Otherwise, I will HAVE to shell out the $350 this cream costs.

I got a mini pot of this as a free gift. To buy 50mls it costs $350!!! I tried it hoping that I wouldn't get hooked and luckily I didn't. I am 37 and don't have many lines, but there was no visible difference at all after a week. In fact, my skin felt a little taut like it wasn't getting enough moisture. This may be great for some, but I am going to hang onto that $350!

Okay, it was a color laser printer or this cream. Thinking, "If it does what it says it does, it's cheaper than botox" (which I've never tried, as I'm leery of side effects), I bought the cream. Like many of you, I'm sure, I've bought a lot of creams. Some of them are highly overpriced junk, and a few work very well. This one is in a class by its own. Not only did my face feel wonderful the minute I applied it, but some tiny lines at the edge of my eyes had almost become invisible even to me by the time I got back the first night after going grocery shopping. So far, I'm strongly inclined to say that it's the best money I've ever invested (along with my Bar review course). I look and feel radiant. I'm not very good at analysis in terms like, "my skin texture is better," or "less tiredness in the jawline," or whatever. The comparison that really leaps to mind is that if you are interested in reconnecting with your child-woman, this cream will take you there.

Best moisturiser yet. Took a leap of faith to buy 2 jars at once because the SA told me that was the last 2 left and the next shipment will arrive after 3 months. This beats any moisturiser and serum combination. Believe me I have tried all the elite skincare. For the performance and convenience this provides, it should be considered as a bargain. It's rich in texture and yet absorbs well, doesn't clog pores a single bit. You can feel it's effect immediately after application. Thank you memechoses for her recomendation.
Update.5 days later.
Fine lines around my eye and mouth regions have significantly been relaxed. Skin is left very much firmer. This product should be considered as a miracle as none of those strong nasty medically proven anti wrinkle ingredients are used. The plant extracts should be very potent as they are listed way down the list.
The packaging reflected what luxury skincare is all about. None of that doctor skincare wannabe look. Simply gorgeous.
It is has great anti-aging effect however. The best anti-aging cream to date.

Update 10/11/06 I just bought a fresh jar of this cream and I must add that there is no significant smell to this fresh batch. I have also noticed there is not much noticable fangrance to the fluid version either. They may have responded to their customer feedback. I wonder whether they have cut back on the precious orchid extract too. I am mainly concerned whether they have reduced the amount of the precious orchid extract too. There is also a slight change in texture. They have added the metal spatula back too. First they changed it to a plastic one and now back to a metal one. I wonder what is going on. I will update on its performance.

Update. the very next day. The cream is definitely different in texture. It used to leave a more dewy/oily light finish but now it leaves a creamy finish. The smell is really less powering I have the old samples and creams to compare. I will update on its performance later. I bought 6 jars at a shot because they were having a huge promotion. Hope it still works the same.
This cream is actually an even heavier version than the first released. It is more moisturising and may be less irritating but it is a lot more difficult to spread. It feels less like butter and more like cream.
To the people who says this is just an ordinary cream. I bet to defer. I have recomended friends of mine to use it and their skin changed dramatically over the past few months. Face shape is redefined and that is a class act. It was the sales representative's dramatic change in skin quality that boosted my confidence in this product. Her face used to be all saggy, oily and open pored. Now her skin is luminous and pores are a lot smaller. It is so much smaller that I think you could measure the difference using a ruler.

first ... shoot me... i just spent 350.00 on a moisturizer. i had heard about this from a beauty editor friend and it hit the us two weeks ago.
so why is this different.

first- its an all in one- lifting, toning, firming , anit aging , hydrating. no need for serums and night and day creams

2. my skin DOES look more radiant within 3 days.

3. my fine lines seem to be minimized.

4. you get a lot of product for the $$$

there is a massage technique you need to use , but its fairly straightforward, massage those jowes or frown lines. this cream was supposedly 10 yrs in the workd. if it helps take 10 yrs off my age i will be ecstacic.

yes its made from orchids.

i will update in one month. but for now...i like this
ONE MONTH UPDATE: I had expected the efficacy and novelty to wear off.
