I've been looking for the perfect concealer my whole life. This is it. It has great staying power, doesn't crinkle and crease all over the place and works for both blemishes and under eye darkness. It's a bit thick so for use under the eyes you just have to warm it a bit in your palm or on your finger, but it goes on great and lasts and lasts. I couldn't be more happy with it. A HG product for sure!

This is a WONDERFUL concealer. For some reason over Christmas while I was visiting home, I was getting these big pimples on my chin area. I realized that my makeup was not good enough to cover them up, and they were so gross! I was at the mall with a girlfriend, and she mentioned Aveda's concealer was really good, so we went in the store, I used the tester, and I couldn't believe how well it covered up my nasty huge zit!! I had to purchase it immediately, and I have never used anything that will cover like this does. I am extremely, extremely fair PPP, and I use birch, which is light enough for me. I think this is a little too dry or too thick for me to use underneath my eyes, unless I mixed it with some moisturizer first, which I haven't tried. Truly the best spot-covering concealer!

YAY!!!! Thank you so much MUA! I have heriditary dark circles and have tried SOOOO many concealers and they either were too light, too dark, too yellow, too pink, or simply didn't stay long enough on my eyes and made my mascara smudge.

Enter: Aveda Conceal and protect. After trying almost everything, I decided to buy two colors online (bamboo and balsa) to see which would work better. They arrived after 1 grueling week.

Balsa is a tad bit light for my MMM asian skin, but it works well in covering my dark eye circles and redness around the nose. I use a light dab of Bamboo under my eye and nose because it is more my skin tone if not a tad darker and *BAM* my circles are gone.

It doesn't cake or emphasis my tiny fine lines. Perfect perfect. At 12.50USD it's not such a bad deal. Try it today! You will be glad you ddi.

I have many broken capillaries and enlarged veins on my face. I've tried just about every concealer out there, and this is by far the BEST! My HG! I apply it with L'Oreal's concealer brush. It goes on smoothly and really covers the bright red/purple discolorations. And the little pot of product lasts and lasts. I top it off with Aveda's Dual Base Minus Oil foundation. Thank you, MUA, for all the recommendations that led me to this concealer. It is a God-send! ***Edit*** I've recently started using an inexpensive (Almay) loose powder over the concealer and let it set while a do the rest of my makeup. Then I top it off with the Dual Base Minus Oil - seems to help the concealer stick to my flaws.

Oh sweet mamma, this is the perfect concealer! I find that this has the nicest consistency. It's dry enough to use on spots, but it also works perfectly under the eyes. I melt some on the back of my hand and press it into the skin. It's totally non cakey and the shade I have, Balsa, is not too yellow or orange. This stuff rocks.

I love, love, love this concealer. It is the only one I have found that has a great consistency for my undereyes and redness. I'm a PPP and use Birch. I can't say enough about it!

I have this in Balsa and it is a perfect match for me under Aveda Dual Minus Oil in Aster. It covered my red marks left over from a break out and it covered redness around my nose. The concealer lasted for hours, too. I did notice after a few hours I was shinier then I usually am but I'm not too bothered by this since my skin looks so good. I'm not a big concealer fan, but this is a concealer I will definitely use on a regular basis. It is expensive - $21CAN, but the pot is a generous size and I know it will last me a very, very long time.

Yes.. I do like this concealer. Amazing coverage, amazing longlasting ability. Creases ever so slightly unless I use nivea cream on my undereyes. It's too light and orangey for me though. I need yellow based foundations/concealers. I would buy this again if it were more yellow. I have this in balsa.

I'm olive toned, blonde hair, brown eyes. FFF/MMM. Pigmented lips.

AWESOME concealer. It works best when you rub it between your fingers before applying, or by putting it under your hair dryer for a few seconds immediately before use. I bought the shade "Balsa", and it was a tiny bit too light for me. I have very olive skin (Italian) and I have combination skin. It doesn't dry out my skin OR make it feel greasy. It's perfect for all over your face, except with heavier coverage under the eyes (like any concealer, in my opinion.) If you use some under-eye moisturizer beforehand, it won't gather in your eye creases. I didn't like the pot container, either. I break out easily and the whole bacteria thing scares me...But as good as this stuff works, I'll take the extra time to make sure I'm using a clean sponge or very clean hands. I will buy this product again and it will remain my one and only until I find something better. :)

This is my favorite concealer, it covers great and lasts all day. At first I wasn't crazy about the pot packaging and I usually favor a tube or applicator stick. Now I actually favor it, I can get the perfect amount by either dabbing my finger lightly in the pot or using a concealer brush. It goes on smooth and looks so natural. Balsa matches my skin tone perfectly. When using this concealer a little goes a very long way don't try to pile it on just dab, also don't forget to wash your hands! It is most important to keep your makeup clean and bacteria free (especially because of the, stick your fingers in, packaging).

I sampled a bit at the counter but was not impressed at all. It's too dry even on my oily skin and doesn't succeed in covering up my dark circles. Unsatisfactory in covering up my freckles either. Maybe it's kept there for too long - the content appears chalky.

I love this concealer for my dark undereye circles. I have tried almost every concealer on the market, (CDP, dermablend, covermark, mac) and I just love this. It blends so nicely into properly moisturized skin, covers great and lasts until you take it off. It even lasted through an all nighter at a really sweaty club. I love how easy it is to apply, set it with a little powder and it looks flawless and so natural!

Tiny pot of concealer. Not crazy about the screw off tiny pot.
Plus this was too dry for me to use under my eyes ... not easy to blend and wond up settling in my fine lines around my eyes.

There are better concealers out there than this one!

Until recently, this product was my HG for concealers. I've had some trouble recently blending it while using Pro Activ (guess it just doesn't want to blend over the Repairing Lotion). Anywho - I love the coverage and have had no problem with the color selection (I use Balsa). Normally, it blends very well, covers great and lasts all day. One container of this stuff lasts a long time too!

Provides great coverage for the circles under my eyes. My only complaint is that oil tends to separate overnight. It's not really a problem, it's just a little disgusting.

I bought this b/c it got such great reviews. Was using the Body Shop concealer and was really happy w/ it and I'm not going to switch. The Aveda concealer is dry and there are not enough colours for a perfect match. I don't have the time to buy 2 and mix them. I even got dry patches on my face when I used it, and I don't like the pot...it's much easier to apply in a pencil form or with some kind of applicator. And it gets dry under the eyes.

Wow, I just bought this the other day after reading all the reviews here, and I'm so glad that I did! Even though I spent around $25CAN on it, it was a worthy purchase. It's super smooth and blends so easily with a brush or finger, covering up my dark circles and blemishes. Recommended.

UPDATE: I've been using this for a couple weeks now, and it's still great! Some tips though: make sure your face is well moisturized, especially under the eyes! Also, the concealer itself needs to be warmed up a bit (rub it between fingers). Or else it will be too dry and not blend properly.

I have to admit, I was surprised that so many people elevated this to Holy Grail status -- I'm just not amazed with my Balsa. A fairly ordinary product, a little too firm for my taste. I prefer a creamier concealer with better blendability since I felt this actually drew attention to my dark circles. Perhaps I should try applying it with a brush, though you're not supposed to have to. A positive: this stuff doesn't budge once set with powder.

This is the best concealer. It dried to a nice consistency once applied and it really covers dark circles and imperfections. I am fair skinned, and I use Birch. Love it!
