I did not think this moisturized my lip as well as my other favorites (Burt's Bees, Nuxe, Smith's Minted Rose Balm). It has a sweet vanilla cake batter taste which was nice since I did not expect it at all. But it just gave lips that smooth feeling while it was on but once the product disappeared my lip were dry. For over $5 (cnd) for lip balm this isn't worth it for a drugstore product, I would go for Labello or Burts Bees.

I like Aveeno lotion products, but this lip balm makes me feeling nauseous and sick everytime I used it, so I threw it away. It has a weird scent that I start to feel nauseous right after I put it on. This is the only lip product that ever makes me feel this way.

Luv it! If you haven't discovered this yet, oh boy, are you in for a great surprise! This is amazing and I absolutely love it so much. This keeps my lips moisturized in this harsh climate. I absolutely adore it and my bf appreciates me using it too ;D Great product (as always) by Aveeno!

This is my HG chapstick. I started using this about 3 years ago, and now my husband & I are both addicted to it! Since we live in Japan, and we dont have access to buying it over here, we stock up when we have a friend going back the states to visit. My husband works on a flight deck all day for 16 hours, and is exposed to hot weather, fumes, and just generally bad stuff, but his lips are always soft, and non-damaged. I love to put this on under a lipgloss, or just as a "on the go" look. Definetly a great chapstick :) I might even put in the goody bags for relatives this Christmas :)

One of my favourite lip balms. Slight vanilla/oatmeal smell, and my lips are left smooth. One swipe is good enough.

This was my HG lip balm a few years ago, but I had totally forgotten about it until I was cleaning out some old purses tonight and found one lonely tube, seemingly almost new! Putting some on brought back some old, lovely memories of how obsessed I was with this stuff back in the day. It smells delicious (like vanilla and oatmeal) and has a lot creamier consistency than most balms I've tried in the interim - and believe me, there have been plenty. My current favorite balm was/is the Alba tropical balms, which are also creamy, but even those are significantly waxer than this Aveeno balm. I'll have to start using this again!

Moisturizing and long lasting with a minty kick. Not waxy at all. A bit pricy for a drug store brand, but still reasonable.

I don't understand why so many users are giving this product such a bad rating. At this point in time, I should mention that throughout this whole ordeal, my doctor told me that I have eczema on my lips so these results may vary.
I have tried many lip balms (chapstick, softlips, life (SDM brand), smackers etc...) and none of them have really worked well on me. I then tried this Aveeno lipbalm. AMAZING RESULTS.
Pro's:
-great smell (vanilla smell)
- smooth and easy application
- a uni-sex appearance- guys and girls can use this
- SPF15
Con's:
- a bit expensive for a lip balm (I live in Canada and it retails for $5.99 at shoppers)
- somewhat waxy formula
WARNING: DO NOT TWIST THE WHOLE BALM UP TO TEST HOW MUCH YOU HAVE LEFT. YOU CANNOT TWIST THE BALM BACK DOWN.
otherwise, this is my HG balm. I'm currently on my 2nd balm. Hope you guys check this out ! I definitely recommend it.

EDIT April 4/2009 - I changed the rating from a 5 -> 3.5. I don't feel it does the job well enough. In fact, I have stopped using this lipbalm because I have found a better night treatment to use. nipple cream - lansinoh lanolin.
before you judge, search it up on mua because many people have also gotten great results !

I love Aveeno products! After using many different expensive lip balms/treatments/glosses, I realize that expensive doesn't really mean better and most of the time there is almost no difference. I've used up and have thrown out all of my lip products and have purchased this simple lip balm. The packaging is nice, it smells good, moisturizes my lips without leaving it feeling waxy or sticky, and leaves a subtle wet/moist look. It's cleaning up the mess that the Crabtree lip treatment left (terrible dry chapped burning lips). To me, simple/basic/natural = beautiful! Will definitely repurchase.

I just got this and tried it out immediately. Wow! It felt super soft and silky and my lips look great. I have tried so many lip balms and chap sticks, but this one really makes my lips feel and look great. Also, it has spf 15 in it, which is definitely a plus. Overall, I definitely recommend. Will repurchase and update if anything changes.

Best lip balm in drug stores. BEST Im saying. It is not waxy at all, and it feels like you are paving the balm when you put it on. The texture is similar with Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour lip cream, which is $_$. The smell totally shocked me because it is soo delicious. It has the exact food vanilla smell that Biglow's My Favourite Lipbalm has, and by food vanilla i mean vanilla smell that is real and not synthetic. It has sun protection, and it really did heal my chapped lips. The only better lipblam I have used so far is the Cocoa butter stick from The Body Shop, but again its $_$ (not as bad as Elizabeth Arden though), and it doesn't have sun protection.

Pro's:
-Smells like vanilla and oatmeal (in a good way!). Yummm! Delish!
-Moisturizes all day
-Feels smooth and soft
-Conditions lips
-Leaves lips shiny, like lip gloss, but still very non-sticky
-Doesn't stick to hair when the wind blows
-Small packaging makes it possible to carry at all times
-Has natural ingredients
-SPF prevents and heals chapped lips
-Protects lips from cold
-Has a nice color to it
-Lasts a long time

Con's:
-The twist cap is in a strange position
-$3.50 for a lip balm isn't cheap

Overall, I loveee this product. It's my HG (holy grail) lip balm and I will continue buying it until it isn't sold anymore!! =]]] I highly recommend anyone who is seeking a great lip balm worth your money!! <3

This lip balm is AWESOME! I apply it to my lips constantly during the day, and it stays on my lips for more than an hour. When it does fade away, my lips are left feeling soft and smooth. It doesn't feel waxy or slimy in the least; it feels light and thin on your lips. The only drawback is that when it gets into your mouth it tastes gross. Other than that, it's amazing!

UGH PIECE OF CRAP!!!! terrible. It does really make your lips more dry. It does not moisturize AT ALL. the only reason I still put it on is for the smell. It doesn't even feel glossy or slippery like you just applied chap stick. It feels like you put nothing on. So if thats the look you're going for, buy this chap stick. I really thought it'd be so great because I really like aveeno products because it's hypo allgerenic and uses a lot of natural ingredients but I hated this chap stick. And one more thing, the twisting thing that moves the chapstick up on this product is on the TOP and not on the bottom and that really threw me off. i guess it is pretty neat but it really threw me off

This is my HG lip balm. I'm a total chapstick junkie, and this is the only one that I have ever repurchased. It has an amazing glide, doesn't feel at all grainy, gives the lips a nice, healthy sheen that doesn't compete with other makeup, and has spf 15 sun protection. I can't say enough good things about this product - everyone should try it.

I purchased this because i wanted something more than just lip balm - and I'd been really disappointed with all of the Blistex ones. I m so glad i bought this - it is the HG for my lips. Leaves them super soft with a slight shine - and the moisture lasts for hours at a time. I put it on when i go to bed, and when i wake up my lips are still smooth. I've also used this under my lipstick and has worked well. Plus, it's cheap - what more could ya ask for! :) Highly recommended.

I kinda like this stuff, I guess. It has a nice scent that eventually wears out (which isn't a bad thing, a constant scent can get annoying), leaves a nice little sheen on my lips, is comfortable and feels protective. Only thing is that it doesn't last long. I will probably not get this again since it was given to me and I'm always trying different products, but it's still nice. EDIT: Dec '08 Hmm, while this feels nice and moisturizing, after it wears out my lips feel even drier than before :( and you have to reapply very often.
