I just discovered this fragrance and I am really enjoying it. I am a big fan of any vanilla-y/almondy/sugary-sweet fragrances. I like this because it is not sickeningly sweet. Just light enough to be yummy. I also like that this does not give me a headache as many perfumes do. This reminds me a great deal of Chopard's Casmir-which I think was discontinued. I do think this fragrance is terribly over-priced but will re-purchase if I can find it on Ebay or something.

The perfume smells like Yakult( a Japanese liquid-y yogurt). I like it!! It's milky and citrusy and fruity in a good way... until the drydown.. On me, the nutty drydown sometimes smells like sewage. But everything before that is good, though I would like some more floral notes in it, like L'Instant de Guerlain EDP.

LOVE this scent--even more than my current favorite: L de Lolita Lempika.

I love foody scents but the price of this turned me off from the beginning. But a co worker pushed me towards it and though I hated the way it smelled on her, I did try it at Sephora and loved it.

Its def a perfuem that needs to work with body chemistry. Its very sweet but in a good way. Strange scent..not really vanilla (my ususal love) but just something about it I like. I love the edt and EDP the same-don't detect much differenc.

I ende dup buying this online-HUGE price difference.

This has great staying power.

I first tried and bought a bottle of this fragrance my junior year of high school. It was my signature fragrance for 3 years, until I ran out of my second bottle and decided that I wanted a change. After 2 years, I decided to order another bottle of Hanae Mori's Butterfly as I remembered how much I loved its fragrance, only to discover that it just wasn't the same. I think I have outgrown it, as I found the perfume to be far too overpowering and sickeningly sweet on me. Still, 3 lippies because it will always have a special place in my heart!

Oh, and I managed to drop the first bottle I ever owned in my bathroom. The bottle remained completely intact, however, the beautiful and delicate cap shattered nto a million little pieces.

I just tested this again yesterday and I have to say, on me, it just doesn't work. I used to love this and was sorry I didn't buy when I first tried it - I smelt wonderful with it on. But yesterday, it just sort of sat and didn't do anything. It is lovely if it works with your chemistry - I think my chemistry is changing so the search continues.

This has become my HG of perfumes (I have more than one really ;) What a strange combo of scents all rolled into this fragrance. I typically do not prefer this type of scent so it is quite the eclectic bottle in my growing stash. I will never go without & it has earned a permanent spot on my shelf. I am so glad I accidentally stumbled onto to this. Not sure why I feel it is a little on the spice side despite the sweet notes...ummm is that sandalwood? Reminds me of a lovely incense. Very feminine & pretty, my man just loves this one!

I love this scent so much that I bought two bottles at a time! It's one of the best scent on me ever. Well, My HG fragrance got discontinued (estee lauder's dazzling silver), so I go for this.

I too am surprised at the average reviews of Hanae Mori. It's simply divine. When I first smelled it I wasn't sure if I liked it, til a few hours later, I couldn't stop smelling my wrist. It's light and just makes me feel like a pretty lady. I also agree with one other reviewer about the cap...mine doesn't stay on either, so I'm always careful about how I pick it up, and it does look rather lovely sitting on the dresser.

Looks so nice on my dresser (I love looking at perfume bottles!). This is a perfect work-appropriate scent that smells like almond, strawberry, and vanilla, with a touch of something sophisticated/deeper (I don't know what) that keeps it from smelling like a teenager's perfume. Lasting power is good, as I can still smell it on myself when I get home from work. I was looking for a lighter scent for summer to break things up a little from my HG The One by Dolce&Gabbana. The One is a bite on the neck, Hanae Mori Butterfly is a gentle brush of the shoulder. I regret not purchasing the lotion at the same time. I have the EDP in this--in my experience the drydown on EDTs is different, so just wanted to make it clear which my review applied to.

I adore this, despite the "sweet" scent. I generally go for foodie smells and this is great for that. Reasonably priced and easy to find too. For some reason my cap doesn't stay on. It just kinda sits on top, so I'm not sure what happened there.

This is my everyday fragrance now. I work as a nurse and I haven't heard any complaints from patients. I have a co-worker who is pregnant and she says that it doesn't make her gag. It makes me feel " sweet". I feel good wearing this perfume. It lasts long too. I work 12 hour shifts.

I just discovered this and LOVE it! I am surprised at the average reviews. This is my 2nd favorite...and I will definitely rebuy!!!

I don't get headaches at all with this :)

Everyone's body chemistry is different. I cannot tell you if this flavor will work on you, but every time I wear this, I always get tons of compliments.

I got lucky and found it at Costco.

i must defend my signature fragrance! it is subtle in its complexity. it's warm and deliciously sexy on me, definitely not cloying or overwhelming in the least (although i wouldn't wear this in hot weather.) however, i am cold and dry so can usually get away with fragrances that are headache inducing on others (yes, i can pull off angel. gracefully.) and yo, there is no vanilla in this. the strawberry and almonds mesh together to suggest vanilla, which is just brilliant. it smells like pecans to me actually. sweet!

It took me a really long time to buy Butterfly. It's quite different than other scents that I'd used, and just a whiff of the tester turned my SO off. But I loved loved loved how it smelled on my skin and have had my eye on it for about three years. Then one day, I decided to walk into Macy's and visit the cosmetics counters. I should have avoided this counter, but the SA was a sweet old lady who seemed very sincere. She convinced me, against my better judgement, to buy the gift set. I have not regretted this decision for one second. I have received so many compliments and many requests for where my friends can get this. Of course, I won't share! Better yet, my boyfriend, who did not like the tester, loves it on my skin. Yummy!

I got two samples of this recently so I decided to try it. It was love at first sniff—I couldn’t take my wrist away from my nose all evening, because the deliciously warm scent was comforting. Unfortunately, I fell out of love quickly and it only took about 2 weeks of wearing this to figure out that after an amazingly short time it flattens out to a cloying vanilla smell reminiscent of that awful Vanilla Fields everyone in my 7th-grade class wore. The multi-dimensional “body” it seems to have when you first smell it just disappears and what you’re left with is nothing special. This doesn’t seem like a fragrance for someone who truly appreciated perfumes; it’s more like a teenage girl’s bland idea of what fragrance should be. If you like complex scents, pass this one up.

LOVE this scent--even more than my current favorite: Coco Mademoiselle. To me, this is such calming and peaceful scent. Sometimes I put this on right before going to bed and it really calms me down.
First, I tried the EDT version at the Nordstrom and did not like it at all--it was just way too sweet for me and was overwhelmed by its "flat" strong sweetness. Then, at Sephora, I tried the EDP and wow, what a HUGE difference!! The EDP is million times better--the scent has more depth & complexity to it and much more "intriguing" and mysterious. It has great staying power. Very memorable and striking scent yet elegant & very feminine at the same time. BLUE butterfly rules :)

This is such a different smell; very rich but not too overpowering. It is very sweet and rich so a little spray goes a long way; and it hangs around for quite a while. Think I'll have to wear it for a while to decide whether I like it enough to keep wearing it.

I really love Hanae Mori. I smell woods, almond, berries powder and musk, I don't really smell any vanilla. Very pleasing, pretty and inoffensive. I honestly can't imagine many people disliking this fragrance, even if they wouldn't wear it themselves. It's soft without being watery or anemic, and sweet without being sickening. Beautiful fragrance that just makes me feel pretty.

LOVE this scent. A tiny spritz goes a long way, and the length of time that this fragrance lasts is wonderful. When I go to bed at night, I can still smell a faint lingering whiff of this EDP.

I purchased the 1oz bottle at Sephora ($65), and love the entire turn of the perfume. The initial spritz (warm, sweet, dry), the dry down (warm, sweet, dry, and a bit - oriental - ?) and also the last lingering part of the parfum when the drydown is almost gone and the intensity of the scent is hard to detect unless in neck or wrist sniffing distance.

The scent is as beautiful as the bottle.
