Skizzerkid hit the nail on the head with her review.
After applying New Vegas with an oh-so-light-hand as I'm used to doing with my other MSFs I felt like I LOOKED like the Vegas strip with the crazy golden glitter on the apples of my cheeks. Not pretty.
In the compact New Vegas looks to be a better consistency then so many of the recent MSFs (Northern Light...ahem...). But on the face New Vegas looks more obnoxious than Northern Light AND Naked You applied with a heavy hand combined! It's not chunky like those two but definitely goes over the top with glitter.
Not so happy with this MSF...I'll stick with Global Glow and Shimpagne to get that great "glowing" look.

Hm, a different breed of MSF. Gold, gold, gold, with bronzey veins. I didn't buy this the first time around, but have started collecting the MSF's, so I picked it up with the McQueen release. I can't really compare the texture to that of any other MSF's. People are calling it chunky and glittery... mine isn't chunky AT ALL. It is glittery, however. Quite glittery and bold, but I still like it quite a bit. It isn't shimmery like, say, Petticoat or Lightscapade. It isn't gritty and chunky glitter like Naked You or Northern Light (both of which I love, if you blow on your brush, the chunks will go byebye!). I reminds me of Dress to Kiss iridescent powder-- a golden, glittery highlighter. It's definitely the most "night out" of all the MSF's, it's just ever so slightly *too* sparkly for work, I feel. I also feel like on someone with an Olive complexion or yellow undertones (neither of which I have!), this would look spectacular! It will still work for us cool, fair complected girls though, and I like it just the same.

Wow - the last bronzing powder i bought was from clinique (ages ago!) and this stuff blows that out of the water! McQueen Mineralize Skinfinish is absolutely gorgeous - unlike any powder i've ever used. goes on smooth and even - isn't flaky at all, and so far - no signs of break-outs. I've been using this golden/shimmering pressed powder just above my blush to highlight cheeckbones and also dab on my forehad, nose and chin -- wow! the results are great! A very, very easy-to-use highlighter for a bright and healthy glow!! I'll definitely use throughout the fall/winter months ahead so my skin tone doesn't getting that dull, i-haven't-seen-sun-in-ages look! :) Plus, it comes in a pretty generous amount so I'm sure I'll continue use through next summer!!

I agree with the review below, this is soooo glittery. I don't know how u r suppose to achieve "a glow" with this. I used 187 and applied very lightly, and my face still looked like a golden disco-ball. This was the only item I got from the McQueen collection, should have skipped the whole thing all together.

This review is for the 2007 version of New Vegas from the Alexander McQueen collection. The product is housed in the traditional clear flip-top casing, but is imprinted with the words "Alexander McQueen Fall '07" on the lid.

New Vegas doesn't seem to have too much veining/color variation (I asked to view a few so that I could select the one I wanted), so for those worried about getting more/less veining, fear not, this MSF appears to be consistent. The base color is a buttery gold and there are both deep gold and bronze swirls within. Thus, the color ranges from a whitish gold to a light golden bronze, depending on where it is swatched from the pan.

I find this MSF to be very frosty and GLITTER heavy. When I compared New Vegas to Shimpagne and Global Glow, I found the latter two much softer and was able to blend them into the back of my hand with my finger to a pearly sheen/highlight without any traces of glitter pieces. On the other hand, New Vegas has a rougher texture, similar to Northern Light, and does not blend evenly using the same finger/hand technique, nor does it leave a satin-like finish. The swatch looked more splotchy and there was a ton of evident glitter pieces. I bought this mainly because I collect MSFs, but if I didn't, I may not have purchased this one. I decided that I will not be purchasing a backup of New Vegas as I don't feel I will be using it too often.

On my nc30/35 yellow/beige/olive undertoned skin, the base color blends right in, leaving behind a pretty highlight. In low/dim lighting, New Vegas gives my skin a glowy sheen, but in direct sunlight, it just looks like gold glitter sitting on my face, especially on my forehead where I have larger pores compared to my cheeks. I will probably reserve this then for evenings only.

This is my HG product of all the cosmetics I own. I use my 187 to apply this, on my NW20/25 skin it lows a gorgeous subtle gold shimmer on my skin. The product itself is so gorgeous in the compact but is extremely fragile. One drop to the floor and you might as well kiss this baby goodbye. :( If only msf's didnt have to be so delicate!! This is by far my favorite of all MSF's so far produced.

This is the most gorgeous MSF I own. My favorite used to be Gold Deposit (until I got this!). This is a gorgeous champagne pale yellow white gold shimmer. Very subtle, goes on very smooth and even and creamy. I am too oily for cream blushes so this is just perfect! This looks awesome over Benefit Dallas blush or any bronzer, darker blush or alone to give that sheen like the spotlight is on YOU! lol :o) Enjoy, it's sooo gorgeous, the quality is fantastic!

I am not sure if this is my favorite MSF out of the ten that are available. It is a nice shimmery golden highlighter, but I do enjoy most of my other skinfinishes better. I think this would be great to use over a really bright brush to tone it down. I would buy this again since it is LE, I don't think I will ever use this one up though!

I love this product! I am of Pakistani background - medium complexion. A MAC makeup artist put this on my face as one of the last finishing touchups when I went in to have my makeup done for a wedding. I loved the way the powder smoothed over the blush I was wearing and also adds a faint sparkle - which is great for parties! It's also nice to use on the high bone of the eye. I purchased this product to use for night's out, but admit that I use this everyday! I just love the added sparkle and blending of my blush to my face!

Im only giving this an average review because it hardly shows up on me at all (NC30 in winter, NC40 now in summer, asian). I use it on top of my Metal Rock to lighten it up a bit. I also use this as a highlighter for my eyes. Other then that, it looks prettier in its container. I would not repurchase not only because its LE but because its not pigmented enough to make it unique.

I agree with Tammy166. The purpose of this product is to make the skin have a satin sheen, not glittery or sparkley like the pro gold powder. I think its great for someone who wants something a little more than dewy but not glittery. The Mac stippling brush is the key to making this product work.

New Vegas does not deserve all the negative reviews that it receives, in my opinion. It is a very neutral, light vanilla with light gold shimmer, and I use this all over my face, neck and chest for a diffused glow effect. It's very beautiful, and I think that if you apply this with a light hand, you could use any brush for it. I did not get any chunky sparkle or glitter on my face. Instead, the sparkles and shimmer seem to meld into my skin and become part of it, giving my skin a nice, subtle glow when I move around in the light.

I am soo in love with this! i seriously can not stop raving about this! i have been looking for a very long time now for a color that gives me a shimmery gold glow without being bronzy or glittery and this does exactly that. i have tried shimpagne before and it came off really light for my skin color and thought that this one would be lighter since it appears that way but it's actually very natural. i can actually wear this all over face, whereas with shimpagne i can only use as a highlighter. i would definitely purchase this again!

Too bad this is LE. Skinfinishes are my second fav next to pigments. This is great as a highlighter, and a beautiful e/s.

I really like New Vegas and must be one of the few. I don't get the glittery Oscar statuette look at all. Instead I have a gold shimmery look when applied with a light hand. I really love this and wished it wasn't LE.

New Vegas is a skinfinish from the Goldplay collection released July 2005. Its limited edition and retails for $22. New Vegas comes in a large sized flip top pot with a beautiful golden powder with small coppery brown lines etched through it with golden shimmer. However on it doesnt do much at all. I have worn this all week with different blushes, colors and formulas and this really does nothing. Slight shimmer with barely there color. Big disappointment for me. I am an olive nc30 complexion and this does nothing for me.

I bought this to get a gold sheen and it does that on my somewhat tanned PPP skin, but it's nothing I can't accomplish with my Gold pro set powder and less convenient to apply as I do not own a stippling brush. I would not repurchase.

No reviews on this baby yet? Anyways I got this, looked so pretty in the pan - golden gorgeousness, but applied it just went on as a sheer wash of fine gold glitter. It's not totally unique unfortunately. I guess I was hoping by some of the pics that it would be more of a Vanilla/Ivory highlight kinda thing with gold shimmer, but it's just straight gold shimmer. The MA thought this would be better for my colouring than Shimpagne, which is "sooo frosty!" I returned it for Stereo Rose...(beautiful, but that's another story), and I might still get Shimpagne...
