I LOVE this cleanser. I have combo skin that tends to sting and get reddish especially during the winter months. I was spending the night over at my in-laws house and my MIL let me use her Ultra Calming Foaming Cleanser. My skin felt great and I was shocked at how awesome it was at removing my makeup. I bought some for myself and have been using it ever since, I'm even considering trashing all the other cleansers I have tried, and I rarely will throw away unused product, but hey, if you found something that works better than the rest AND is way cheaper (got it BOGO 1/2 off too!) then why mess with the rest? I am so happy I don't have to wear foundation to cover my redness anymore. My skin has cleared up, no more redness, itchiness, complexion is more even toned, yep, I have found my HG face cleanser.

I love this! I have been using it in conjunction with First Aid Beauty's Anti-Redness Serum (which also contains feverfew) and have had great results in toning down (if not entirely eliminating) my facial redness. My skin is very oily, and I have always loved the consistency of foaming cleansers. This cleanser does not disappoint - because it's so foamy, two pumps gets rid of all my makeup and oil very easily without leaving a trace left behind. Its foam is powerful at breaking down makeup and oil, but it's also very gentle. My skin never feels dry or tight, and definitely is SIGNIFICANTLY less red (and gets red a lot less frequently/intensely) than before I started using this cleanser! I noticed that because I switched to this from an SA cleanser, I do have to exfoliate more regularly. Once or twice a week I exfoliate with Neutrogena's Clear Pore scrub (with benzoyl peroxide) and that helps tremendously with controlling oil and sloughing off dead skin. I find that that scrub combined with twice-daily use of this cleanser and nightly use of the FAB serum has COMPLETELY overhauled my red, oily, dull skin and made it reasonable to look at (haha).

I bought this cleanser after I had a terrible allergic reaction to DHC's washing powder. This foam cleanser is so gentle and rinses clean with no residue. I love how it's soap and fragrance free. It was about $5. Loveee it. :)

I use this cleanser after exfoliating my skin and it works wonders. I have very sensitive skin which is also dry and this cleanser doesn't irritate it and does in fact calm it. I'm currently on my third tube and would definitely repurchase.

My skin had gotten so dry that it was breaking out and irritated. I stopped using my Clarisonic and switched from my Cetaphil oily skin cleaser to this. Right away my face look and felt a lot better. The breakouts stopped and the dryness went away. I don't wear foundation or cover up, but it does remove all of my blush. I use an eye make up remover prior to washing my wash so it seems to do a nice job of cleaning up any remaining traces of eye liner. Overall, I really like this. my skin doesn't feel dry or tight after I use it and the softness has returned to my face again. All without breaking me out.

My HG daily cleanser. Thank god for this stuff. I use it all year long. Cleans my face without making it dry. Perfect for all the whole year! It doesn't break me out, and doesn't break the bank. Love!

Background info regarding my skin: very oily, very sensitive, very acne/clog-prone (aren't I lucky!)

I bought this cleanser to take on a trip with me when I was running out of my usual HG (Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Cleanser) and didn't have the time to reorder. I choose to try the Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser by Aveeno because of the reviews on here and also because I thought that it sounded like a cleanser that could meet my skin's needs. I generally want a cleanser that will gently but thoroughly cleanse my skin and remove my foundation (to avoid breakouts) without irritating or over-stripping my skin (causing irritation). I'm sure many of you know that sensitive and acne-prone skin is a difficult combination as many of the products designed to treat one problem exacerbates the other.

That all being said, I did not like this cleanser and I will not repurchase. First of all, it was NOT "ultra-calming." My skin felt tight, turned red, and was very itchy after using this. Additionally, it did not cleanse my pores adequately. It also failed at removing foundation given the thin consistency with minimal lather. I don't know if you are keeping track, but that's 0 out of 2, and I wouldn't recommend this for oily skinned girls OR sensitive skin girls and least of all for girls like me who have both. Try Paula's Choice instead. :)

This is my HG cleanser and I've been using it for years and always go back to it. I have sensitive skin that is dry and easily irritated. I require a cleanser that is gentle, yet rinses clean and it must be abe to remove eye makeup. No other high end or drugstore cleanser meets my needs as well as this one. The foam comes out really soft and airy and doesn't really seem like it would do much, but it cleans fairly well and doesn't strip away moisture. This is my cleansing routine: I wet my face and pre-cleanse with regular apricot kernel oil (grape seed works well too.) This helps loosen up all the grime, makeup and sunscreen. I follow-up it with a pump of this cleanser, rinse and voila! This method takes off everything and it doesn't leave my face feeling tight. I will continue using this, as long as it's available.

I thought I'd give this a try since I like foaming cleansers and have mild rosacea. Plus, I've had good luck with other Aveeno products. This cleanser is OK, but not fabulous -- it doesn't remove makeup as well as I would like it to, and my skin feels a touch dry right after using. I'll finish the bottle, but then go back to Olay's sensitive-skin foaming cleanser; it's cheap and works very well for me.

Finally, one of the better cleansers for my periorbital dermatitis. Does what the name says - ultra-calming. On top of that, it takes off all may make-up with 2 pumps of the stuff.

I actually was going to pick up the Positively Radiant cleanser when my local pharmacist (who knows my condition inside out) told me to go for this one instead. "Less aggravators for facial eczema sufferers" he says.

It's cheap and makes me very cheerful. Will definitely repurchase.

I was excited to try this b/c of the reviews and I wanted to take a break from harsh acne cleansers. The first thing I noticed is that it took about four pumps of this stuff to feel like I have cleanser on my skin, I didn't feel like I was cleaning my face. Afterwards, my skin felt very dry and tight. I think this is a good cleanser for someone who hasn't used many cleansers bc their skin is not used to the harsh chemicals... ugh!

i'm currently on roaccutane for my acne and this product has been recommended for people on this treatment. however, while i was initially optimistic about its calming and softening properties for dry and sensitive skin, i found that after a day or two my face was becoming increasingly dry to the point where i now have entire patches of skin that are so dry that they feel like scales. moreover, my face became slightly irritated after using it and i noticed that it looked quite red and discoloured once it was washed off. it was super disappointing, because it actually felt lovely while i was using it and i had a nice clean feel after my face had been patted dry. unfortunately, it did not seem to work with my skin whatsoever.

I love this cleanser! Whenever I go overboard on my skincare routine and over-exfoliate or dry out my face, this product helps restore my skin and replenish lost moisture.
The foam is extremely gentle and soothing, but it was just as good at removing makeup and dirt as the other cleansers I use. Although it's not meant to clear up acne, it certainly doesn't clog pores or cause breakouts. I highly recommend all ladies kept this cleanser on hand for those times when you need to give your skin a chance to relax and rejuvenate itself.

After seeing this facewash recommended for my skin type (OSNW or DSNW, depending on the locale and season), I was very interested to try a face wash that wasn't for acne. This has been my go-to facewash for about 4 years now. I live in Montana now, and since it's so dry up here, my face feels dry and tight after using it. When I lived in East Texas however, my face felt very well moisturized after using this cleanser. It never really breaks me out, but I will say that it doesn't do a very good job at giving me a good deep clean.

All-in-all, this product is very good for sensitive skin that reacts with acne. It's a good daily cleanser that won't cause new acne flairups.

A fantastic product! I loved the foam (gave me an excuse to give myself a bubble beard in the shower ^^) and the fact that it was very nice and light. A great summer cleanser, but I continued using it in the winter and it didn't dry out my skin like most foams do! And it did calm down my breakouts, which have a tendency to get very red and stick out like sore thumbs on my pale skin. A great product to buy if you want a squeaky clean face at the end of the day. Would definitely repurchase!

Meh. My mom gave me this since it didn't work for her skin, and I'm not impressed with it. I don't really like that it comes out in a foam; I never know how much to use, and it never feels like enough. I also feel like I've got a bit of a film on my face no matter how much I rinse. If I actually paid for it I probably would be seriously ranting, but since I didn't I'm not. I'm going to hang on to it for those times when my skin is sensitized (which doesn't happen infrequently) and see if I like it more then.

Been using this for a few days only. Impressed! It took off all my makeup with just one wash without a makeup remover (granted my foundation is medium-to-light coverage only, but it took off all my mascara too!). I'm used to using an oil-based make-up remover (DHC) followed by a foaming cleanser (Jurlique), so I could not believe it when I washed my face with this once and it felt clean enough not to do it again!! Then I checked by wiping my face and eyes with a toner wipe and found no residue whatsoever. Man, the time money I could've saved had I found this earlier... BTW great foaming dispenser and I didn't notice any scent. Last night I followed this up with an asprin (well, disprin) scrub, rinsed it off and then fell in love with myself when I touched my face. I stood there holding my face for like a good 5 minutes. My skin felt so... young!! It was just so smooth and bouncy I can't explain... forget botox - get this facewash (and some asprin).

Dries out my sensitive skin and leaves it feeling tight and unpleasant which is surprising for a product that has no soap in it and comes from Aveeno. But I definitely won't buy it again.

Everytime I try this cleanser it clogges my pores all over really badly. I even got a red inflamed rash from it on my upper cheeks, which was a nightmare. Plus, it is actually drying, contains parabens, and the pump gets stuck after only 2 uses. I will never ever use this product again! If you have sensitive or acne prone skin, stay away.
