I definitely love Bare Escentuals Products, and that's why I feel more dissapointed with this brush: Although I wash it, it looks rough and windswept. I can't give a good shape because it seems to be a broom.
It was expensive, so I wasted my money.

Did not shed, but is a bit scratchy (but maybe it should be).

Though not my favorite brush, I do like to use this to apply Warmth. If something happens to it I wouldn't repurchase it, though - I would find something else. This brush doesn't bother me as much as their Full Face Flawless Application brush because I'm not putting this brush all over my face, but it's still scratchy and it sheds like crazy!

I usually use Mac but after getting fed up of them expanding even when washing and trying to put back together I was at my friends who had this little cute brush...made my bronzer go on evenly and perfect.

Yes it is a bit scratchy but it covers all my face evenly and little enough to fit into my makeup bag...price is a bit much for what it is though but the best one for bronzer so far IMO

I think this is a great brush for loose powder or blush. You can also use it for bronzers.

It doesnt give any coverage, so it not suitable for foundations.

I got this brush as part of the BE starter kit and absolutely hated it! The smaller concealer brush is fine, but the face brush is too scratchy for my liking. I usually just use a kabuki brush to apply the powder, and that works fine for me without making me feel like I've scratched up my entire face. >_<

I'm among minority here cos I do love this brush. I've had it for about three years, I bought it together with BE starters kit in Sephora, along with Kabuki brush, concealer brush and BE make-up.

It's not the softest brush in the world, but I like that it gives light to medium coverage that is very buildable with any powder, not just BE. I own Everyday Minerals flat top kabuki and other kabuki brushes, and I find that with BE Flawless Application Face Brush I get a very natural yet full coverage, when kabuki brushes tend to 'cake' powder on. Again, it's not the softest, but it doesn't scratch my face at all and does what it should do first -- provide good results.

I received this as part of the Bare Essentuals kit and I absolutely hate this brush. It's so scratchy and I don't feel like using this with my bare minerals powder is any better than a regular brush. Overall, I don't like this brush at all, my ELF studio powder brush is 10x softer and cheaper.

Definitely a not great brush. It felt stiff, it sheds and the bristle are breaking. I found that synthetic brushes work better with mineral makeup .

I do like this brush it gets the product onto your face evenly and quickly, however the hairs of the brush are always falling out which I know happens on many peoples as most my family use this :(
It isn't the softest brush after a few uses, but if washed with the BE brush shampoo then it is quickly restored.

Before I write this review, I will say that I'm not a makeup brush junkie. I have very few makeup brushes that are of "high end" quality. I have a lot of synthetic brushes that were not particularly expensive, so perhaps I am not experience enough to know what a good makeup brush is? But this works fine for me! :)
I will admit, it isn't the softest brush. But I don't find it scratchy or irritating to my skin. I like it because of the coverage it gives me with powders. Ultimately, this brush works best with the Bare Minerals products. However, with some of my other powders, it works just as fine. It gives me more coverage then other brushes, and I like how it applies. It never really looks cakey as it can with other brushes.
So I know I'm in the minority with this brush, but I still like it. Maybe I'll find a really nice brush later on and feel completely different about this one, but for now, I really like it.

I can't believe I bought the whole collection of brushes. I love that the sales associates admit that you need to replace the brushes every year.... If a brush is of GOOD or even DECENT quality... you don't need to replace a brush! So super scratchy and irritated my skin. The body shop makes far superior brushes... I would have never known without make up alley reviews. the brush bristles literally look like they smushed and melted into one bristle over time. And I wash my brushes with brush soap weekly and dry them appropriately. Horrible products. My derm. who is number one in the state of NJ says not to use their brushes because the bristles they use are off cheap quality and irritate the skin.

This came with the starter kit I got as a gift and it's pretty bad. It's really scratchy and I even though I followed the instructions on the DVD it came with, it still barely distributes anything on my face!

I'll use this brush for powders I don't want heavy coverage with, like using it to set liquid foundation.

Don't buy this brush.

I received this brush with my BE starter kit almost 4 years ago. I never used it then because it wasted so much powder in the form of dust clouds around my face and failed to provide even the decent, average coverage it claims to. Moreover, this brush sheds excessively. I only use the brush to apply my powder or Tarte stain blushes, but I still have to brush off the tiny blonde sheddings.
I will concede that it is a soft brush and easily cleaned.

Don't bother to buy this brush on its own. Instead of the starter kit, just get the kabuki brush and your one truest shade of powder. The rest is a waste.

I received this brush in one of those get started kits from a long time ago. As I was waiting for my brushes to dry from being cleaned I used this brush and Youch! this brush is very scratchy. I'm glad I got this in a kit instead of paying for it separtely, on the B.E. website it retails for $28.

I don't understand the bad reviews on these brushes! They're supposed to be used a certain way, not like all the other brushes. YES the bristles are coarse, but they're made that way to break down the minerals used for BM. These brushes can be used w/ other things...but they're BEST for BM products! You're supposed to use brush in circular motion on face, not dust on powder. This brush gives good coverage too.

This is the scratchiest brush I've ever used for makeup application. I used it once and then tossed it.

Btw, I got this brush from a starter kit so I don't know if that has anything to do with the quality versus buying the brush by itself.

This is a bad brush. The bristles are thick and scratchy - this brush scratches my face and irritates my skin and feels generally just plain terrible. They are also very difficult to clean, shed hairs, and don't work very well to boot.

This brush came with my Bare Escentuals Starter Kit.
.
It's relatively soft, although not as soft as some synthetic white fiber brushes - i have never found it to feel scratchy. It doesn't have a funny smell. And does exactly what it's supposed to: distribute BE bareMinerals foundation powder moderately all over the face. The Full Face Brush is for more extensive coverage. It sheds a hair here and there, maybe one or two per use, which just does not seem like a big deal to me. I am perfectly content with this brush.
