These are BOGO free at Walgreen's this week, so now's the time to buy if you're wanting to try them.

My quad looks quite a bit different than the pic up there, in fact I had to pull it out to check the shade name to make sure I was on the right one. It's got, from l to r, top to bottom, a light taupe for lid, a shimmery purple for crease, a cream for browbone, and a dark milk chocolate for outer V.

Maybelline shadows aren't very pigmented, and sometimes the color you see in the pan isn't very true to what shows up on your lids. I've found this to be the case with all Maybelline shadows, and I find it rather annoying. It's really the only reason I selected 'no' for the rebuy. However, today I made a very lovely sculpted neutral eye using all 4 colors of this palette, following the guide on the back. (I was pretty nervous, I'm used to only using 1 or 2 shadows at a time!) The light pigmentation made it kind of impossible for me to screw up. I'd suggest Maybelline shadows for anyone who's a little unsure of their eyeshadow technique and needs to practice. Maybe younger girls who are making their first forays into makeup would do well with these. But if you're looking for hyper-pigmentation and true color, you probably wouldn't like these. But hey, they're pretty cheap.

Please don't even consider using these without a primer, they'll melt away in minutes. I use UDPP and they stay all day, and I think a primer makes the color a bit more intense.

*EDIT:* Bumping this up to 4 lippies & changing to 'yes' for the rebuy, after using this for a while I've become quite fond of it. It's one of the few palettes that I can make a great eye with the included applicators. It's a really great neutral palette, one that you can take with you on vacation and you'll have everything you need.

this is my fav quad from maybelline, as well as "blushing babe" (old and d/c). I don't know, maybelline quads can be hit and miss, and their shimmery ones are TOO dry for me but this is perfect! I love it everyday when i can't be fussed with my mac shadows - it's neutral, natural, understated and flattering! i have a similar compact i put together out of mac, and i find that while this is not really the same beautiful texture as mac, it LOOKS similar! for neutrals, you can't go wrong with this palette.

granted, i have fair skin, so i don't worry too much about lower pigmentation!

i bought it on special, and while the lid has broken (annoying!) i would buy it again. great quad!

OH i ALWAYS use TFSI or paint pot with this - would not consider it on its own!

My go-to everyday, HG eyeshadow palette. I'm a huge believer in the natural look because a lot of color can look garish on my pale, cool-toned skin. Also, I love ANY makeup that has a foodie name, so of course I was attracted to this quad. Designer Chocolates has a beige color (lid), a shimmery rosy brown (crease), a neutral milk chocolate brown (outer-v) and a bone white color (brow). When used all together, it creates a stunning look. However, on most days I just use the beige and the chocolate brown all over the crease and outer-v to create a subtle, yet sexy chocolate brown eye. I WOULD USE A PRIMER for these shadows, it builds up their intensity and makes them blend like butter. They last all day long on me with Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I would repurchase over and over again.

This is great for a natural look, if you're looking for drama with this quad, look elsewhere. It comes with four colors: a shimmery bone white (browbone), a muted beige (lid), a rosy, shimmery brown (crease) and a milk chocolate brown (outer-v). I wasn't sure about the rosy brown, but it ended up making my brown eyes pop a lot. The colors blend very well, especially with a primer underneath. This is an awesome everyday, no fuss, grab-and-go quad that I will continue to repurchase.
**EDIT** Added one more lipstick, this has become my HG! Not too warm, not too cool, just pretty and not fussy on my eyes :)

I bought this quad when I decided to reintroduce wearing eyeshadow into my daily makeup routine after a decade of only wearing eyeliner, mascara and some kind of lip product and let's just say that I wasn't impressed. The colors were chalky, difficult to blend, looked quite awful on my caramel color skin and after trying a couple of different eye looks, I returned it to RiteAid within an hour after my initial purchase. This is definitely one drugstore product that did not live up to expectations.

Maybe my picker was off that day for I purchased another eyeshadow quad, that review will follow shortly, and I was 2 for 2 for choosing really awful eyeshadow quads in one day.

Great quad. The white can be used for brow bone, inner corner and as cheek highlight. The light brown very comparable to MAC great everyday color small shimmer, brown matte can be placed in crease for night look. Pinky color not that great can make eyes look red and make you look sick! but Overall, 3 great colors. Instructions on back on how to create the "ideal" look, kinda cute that they put it there.

I normally use Clinique's Strawberry Fudge eyeshadow duo. I ran out, and didn't want to drive 20 minutes to the mall to buy more.

So, with that being said, I decided I would save some time (and money) and just buy some plain old eyeshadow from Wal-Mart.

I saw the Maybelline "Designer Chocolates" and immediately thought the palette was pretty, and similar to Strawberry Fudge. Was I ever wrong. The only colors worth using were the dark brown and pink. The lid shade was too close to my own, so you could barely see it, and the brow bone shade was too white and too transparent. As for the dark brown and pink shades, it takes about 500 applications to get any type of color pigmentation.

I will definitely be sticking with Clinque.

I love the shimmery burgundy and beige that come with this- the brown is ok and the nude is actually pretty good. Its a good deal for the price! Could be a bit more pigmented. Great colors!

The colors look really pretty in the package, neutral but special. Alas, this was not my experience. The lid color is way too close to my own color, so it was pretty useless. The dark brown for the outer corner is very blah and is the only color that actually shows up properly. The crease color was a shimmery pink with brown tones. I say was because the color shattered when the case dropped. It was the only one, so maybe the sparkles did something to make the texture more crumbly and prone to break. The only decent color is the brow bone, which I find too white for my brow, but use as a highlighter on the top of my cheek bones. I think someone with a lighter complexion would find this set more to their taste, but I wouldn't get these "Chocolates" again.

This makes my Velvet Crush quad look like heaven.

It seems the only shimmery shade, or so it appears, is the "crease" color which is a light brown with a rosy hint in it. Generally reddish colors don't look great on medium-golden-tan skin, so it was tricky for me (and saddening because I love shimmer more than anything else in the world).

Generally I use the darkest shade of the quad most because the rest of the shades don't provide much drama, but the brown in this one was rather smudgy and super matte, which I wasn't a huge fan of. I love browns and prefer others to this palette.

Well, I would not have wasted money on this if I knew. I wanted a smoky eye that is not too loud and dark for me. This one has a crease color which does not suit med complexion people at all. I feel the colors of the quad are not the best. It defntly gives a natural look but it hardly shows up. LOL Waste of $4.

I'm actually wearing these shadows right now. I put the purplish shade all over my lid, leaving the outer corner space clean to create the "outer-v" with the dark brown shade. Then I used the taupe shade on the outer crease/close to the brow bone area to smoothen the rough edges from the other two shades. I didn't use the highlight color because it's so dry and not pigmented. Overall, still a good buy, but I won't buy it again.

I won this eyeshadow quad in a maybelline competition here in Australia so i can't really complain about the price of it as i still have not had to repurchase. But i must say that this is a quad which i just keep coming back to, great for an everyday look. I think the pigmentation is very weak, and i find it does disappear during the hours after application but i just love the colors, and the way they go with one another. I agree with others its a great quad for those who are just beginning to experiment with makeup.

This quad is good for a natural everyday look. I used TFSI as a base. The shadows are not very pigmented but do give some color payoff. I found them to be a little too powdery.

This is a pretty average quad. The lid color is a very flesh tone shade and I agree with some reviewers who think that the crease color needs to be darker or more pigmented. On the other hand, this is a pretty good quad for everyday use. If I were going to pick out something neutral and basic for someone who was a beginner or a middle school/high school girl just starting out with makeup, then I'd go with this quad. The colors are pretty neutral so it's difficult to mess up but I'd like a little more pop of color or shimmer for my buck.

Good for a natural look with a bit of pop. The light beige matches my skin perfectly, so I use it a good bit. The burgundy crease color could stand to have more pigment to it. The other two colors are nice as well. Over all it's nothing too special, but it's good to have for natural looks (yes, this is about as 'natural' as my eyes get... I like bold)

Cheap, like maybelline. Good for the price, though

Packaging blows. It falls apart, breaks, I've had to re-buy twice because if it drops once it's over.

I think these colors look good with my eye color. Overall I'm happy with it because it taught me how to apply the right colors where for a textured look (I was pretty one dimensional with eyeshadow before). Without a primer it won't stay on all day. Actually it fades pretty quick w/o primer (like after 2 hours?) but much more lasting with a primer. Also! After I swipe it in the shadow I tap my brush because its quite loose and it really will fall on your face if you don't tap it, which is super annoying!
