Very disappointed with this product....left my naturally wavy hair limp! I have fine hair, but lots of it, and this product seemed to really weigh down my hair and leave it stringy-looking.I just wanted something that would give a lovely beachy texture, looks like I'm still looking....

This didn't do anything for me besides make my hair sticky and rough. My hair is naturally fine, straight, and blonde (exactly the type of hair they market this to!) and this product did not contribute at all to any sort of waving or curling action. Three lippies are for the fact that it works as a stiffening/holding/styling gel in spray form, but it does not in the end take time off my normal hair-curling routine-I still have to do just as much heat styling and use as much hairspray. The only difference is that my hair is stickier and darker with this stuff! I would only recommend this, ironically, to brunette women with thick, already curly or wavy hair. Wouldn't buy it again, I hear it's d/ced. I'm not losing sleep over it, lol.

I *LOVE* this stuff! I don't even have blonde hair either. I bought it because I loved the smell (I'm a coconut junkie, and this one has a fab coconut scent) and that's pretty much why I bought it. Once I used it and saw how lovely it made my hair look I decided I liked it for much more than the smell. This is the only thing that gives my hair sexy waves without weighing it down or making it sticky and stuff. All the good things are always discontinued :(

I'm so depressed. My life is incomplete without this stuff. : ( The ONLY thing that I have found that gives my hair exactly the waves I want. Loose and pretty. I NEED to find an alternative. So far no luck.. Boo! Bring it back!!! The smell is alright, if you're into the surferish smell. I don't realy care for it, but the performance completely makes up for it!!

I actually really loved this. I remember going through bottles of it, because it was the only thing that really helped my curly hair stay calm, and it helped the frizz as well. I loved the scent, it made me want to go to the beach. I would spray this on damp hair, roll it up in curler and let it dry, and when I would let it down, I would have perfect curls. Why did they have to discontinue this!?
Age: 25-29 Skin: Oily, Olive Hair: Black Eyes: Brown
I have thick straight black hair, and this works great on it. I love the texture and shine it gives, and the smell, too. Is it discontinued? I don't believe they would do something that stupid.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Combination Hair: Blond Eyes: Green
I also wish they would bring this product back! It is THE BEST for getting a casual wavy style and for reviving your style. I loved how I could sprits it on when I was running late and it would just make my hair so much easier to work with! I was really sad when I ran out.. :( Nothing works the same as it! Oh, and the smell is nice and summery! It makes me feel like Im on vacation in the caribean.. even if Im at work in the middle of winter :)

I really really want JF to bring this back! I can't really describe what it is that is so good about this product, but it makes perfect bed-head, sexy, big, beachy hair. I absolutely love the oils in it. It seriously creates the best texture for my coarse hair. I mix it with Bumble and Bumble styling creme and BB hair powder for the biggest hair ever! I tried the Starlit Waves and it just isn't the same. I bought a couple more bottles off of ebay, but I don't know what I am going to do when I run out. If anyone knows of a really close substitute, please let me know! This really is unique, amazing stuff!

I've had a bottle of this for a very long time. I've tried it over and over. Sadly I just can't stand this product. It makes my hair look and feel gross, and I *really* can't stand the smell. The coconut fragrance is overwhelming, it makes me nauseous. If you don't like fragrance, steer clear of this!
Age: 36-43 Skin: Sensitive, Fair-Medium Hair: Brown, Wavy, Medium Eyes: Brown
I love this styling product (even though I am a brunette :). I spritz six pumps into my hands, and run it through my clean wet hair. Next, I section off small piece and twist them, and then just let my hair dry naturally. It gives my coarse shoulder length hair nice waves. Did I mention that it has a great coconut scent, too?

I totally just discovered this. The pharmacy Brunet where i live was having a sale on it $5.99 a bottle so i bought one and decided to try it. I`ve been using garnier`s surf hair spray. I love this stuff! So totally sad they`re discontinuing it. I just might go buy them out of the rest of the bottles that were left. I only hope i can find a good alternative to this when i run out.

Such a perfect blend of conditioning oils and texturising stuff, so not drying, unyet makes my hair fell soo soft, I love this. SO SAD about the dicontinuing, waaaaawaaaawaaaa *cries*, would buy again except i can't dammit
Age: 19-24 Skin: Dry Hair: Brunette Eyes: Green
I wish they still made this! I loved this stuff. It worked so well to make my hair curly and shiny. It smelled great too....though after awhile it could become a bit nauseating. I miss it!
Age: 19-24 Skin: Dry, Fair-Medium Hair: Brunette Eyes: Hazel
I LOVE this spray. Brought it on vacation with me to Myrtle Beach. Gave me such pretty beachy looking waves. Soo pretty. Unfortunately they stopped making it. It'll probably be a little bit before I run out, but when I do i'm gonna try the Brilliant Brunette Starlit Waves spray. Which I hear is an almost as great alternative.

I emailed the comapny and it turns out it is not the same. They are not the same ingredients nor do they have the same smell. This is straight from KAO Brands email in reply to my question. That is such a shame. I really loved this.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Very Oily Hair: Red Eyes: Hazel
I miss this product so much, but don't worry, Starlit waves is the same thing with different scent! Someone said it wasn't, but the majority of people are saying it is indeed the same. You can still get ocean waves on ebay, but I would try this for $5.99 before you pay $13 + shipping on ebay b/c IMO ...ITS THE SAME!
Age: 19-24 Skin: Acne-prone Hair: Blond Eyes: Blue
i love this and wish i could find it again
Age: 30-35 Skin: Normal, Olive, Warm Hair: Brown, Wavy, Medium Eyes: Brown
Loved the scent(coconut) but the product was too oily for my medium wavy/curly hair. Will not repurchase.
Age: 25-29 Skin: Sensitive Hair: Brown Eyes: Brown
I too am deeply saddened by this product being discontinued I have tried the Starlite Waves spray and it is not the same.

THIS PRODUCT WAS DISCONTINUED? :( I never knew that! But anyways, I loved this product, I got it a loooong time ago. Perfect beach hair, and it smelled amazing!
