I have quite a collection of MAC lipsticks that include most of the finishes. I know the matt ones can be drying but this one is ridiculous. It looks like spackle on my lips, and I use a lip scrub and moisturing balm often. This color really, really washes me out. I was hoping this would be a nice nude lipstick but I'll keep looking. Goind to try Blankety. I am happy though with most of the MAC lipsticks in my collection. For reference I am NW25/NW30 and do not have pigmented lips.

This has been my stable nude for a while. I like it, but as some others have commented it is a bit drying (which is to be expected) but as long as your lips are well moisturized there shouldn't be any issues. I'm a NW47 and I've worn this both alone and with a liner without any problems. I think it looks best under a lipglass, however. I recently realized that it's a bit too pink to be my perfect nude so I plan on trying out Siss for a more neutral tone. The picture I uploaded is it with Chestnut liner. HTH

FINALLY MY PERFECT NUDE!
I'm very pale and I have fine lines on my lips, and my lips are not huge and not too small. they are average.
Gosh I tried them all: Myth, Hue, Hug me, Creme d' nude... hated them!!! Myth was too yellow for my skin and the texture was awful, hue, hug me and creme d nude were awful on my lips, the finish is too light, too sheer, hated.
But then I found my love: HONEYLOVE!!! And BING, the perfect nude!!! It has a pinkish undertone so it's perfect for my skin (I'm usually nw20 at mac). Then I applied Lipglass in Florabundance on top, and GOSH, even more perfect!!!
Now that's my combo of the perfect nude: Honeylove + florabundance on top =). I recomend this to everyone, the texture of this lipstick is great!

I only wouldn't repurchase because this doesn't suit my skintone. I'm NC20/25 and this looks completely beigey brown on me. I do look very washed out and ashy with it on. However I personally love the matte finish, I find it very smooth to apply and thinks it looks lovely and natural on.

i have a love/hate relationship with honeylove to say the LEAST. what i love about it is the color; it's a soft, gray based pink that goes incredibly well with my NC30 skintone and it's such a complimenting color. the one and ONLY reason i wouldn't buy this product again which kills me is juuust how drying it truly is. i have naturally liney lips, and it brings out the absolute worst in them; i have to practically dilute it with my clear OCC lip tar (which ruins the matte finish). give it 10 minutes, and my lips look crusty and gross even atfter exfoliating thoroughly. SUCH a bummer.

My biggest mistake ever in selecting this Mac lip color....a horrible color to start with, gives a chalky pasty look.Of course lip balm moisturizes it and with a chicory lipliner I can make it work but on its own its not what it looked in the tube.I am an East Asian with quite fair complexion but this lipstick just gives me the corpsey look by turning my lips into blank canvas. It needs a lot of work and I generally avoid lipsticks that require so much of careful application as this one.Won't rebuy and also would try to steer clear of the matte formula in future as they are very drying and cakey.Don't ever go for this shade since there are other better shades available in the Mac lip line like Cherish & Half n' Half.Perhaps this color is for very fair european skin tones with natural rosy lips as the images up there are quite fascinating except for the look on the warm Asian skin.

This could pass as a nude lipstick, just a hint of pink in it, very lovely color for my skintone

I love this honeylove lipstick! I am such a fan of these matte formulations by mac. From hearing "matte" you think these lipsticks would be dreary and flat. On the contrary, the lipstick applies soft and glossy. The only reason I see it being called matte is because it is not super glossy like a creamsheen and not glittery or frosty like frosts or lusters. As for the color, this is my nude lippie!!! So often I go on the nude lip hunt and am either disappointed by the lipstick being too sheer and not toning down my lipcolor or by the fact that the "nude" is nude by way of being too peach or "skintone"color. To me honeylove is a light nude brown, and much lighter than the nude brown that kinda sexy lipstick my mac portrays. Honeylove has no tints of peach or "skintone" and suits my cool coloring. I believe neutral toned ladies will love this one too. Just give this color a try if you have been on the hunt for an opaque light "nude" pink/brown that will suit cool-tones.

Wow, think I found my new favorite nudey lippie. I've been searching for a matte nudey that doesn't come on drying or makes me look washed out. It looks a lil dark in the tube but when I applied it, it wasn't dark. It's soo pretty. I don't have a HG nudey lippie yet...I like this better than Blankety.

I was shopping around for a nude lipstick so I went to the Mac counter and the M.A gave me some suggestions. First Honeylove completely washed me out It looked like my lips blended in with my face along with cherish lipstick. I guess its because I'm a NC43/NC44 and my lips are a pinkish brownish shade. It did nothing for me what so ever. I guess I'm back searching for nudes.

I stumbled upon this on accident. My friends and I were at MAC and I was just screwing around with different lipsticks. I tried this one on and I loved it! Though it's matte, it feels quite comfortable on my lips. It doesn't tug or feel chalky. It goes on smoothly and doesn't make my lips feel dry. On me, the color is a pinky-beige. Very pretty on my skin. I put some clear gloss over this for some depth in the color. I would definitely repurchase.

I was looking for a great nude alternative & came across this.
I like this shade very much. My only problem with this lipstick is sometimes it feels quite dry....or is just me.
I have to use with a gloss or something over..then its perfect.

This looked amazing for about 10 minutes and then went quickly downhill for me.

Problem 1: Matte formula drying, causing frantic smacking of lips

Problem 2: lipstick creasing, pigmented lips showing through.

Solution 1: intense pre-condition

Problem 2 repeat.

Solution 2: line & fill lips completely w/ nude liner before applying

Problem 2 repeat.

I give up. I cannot make this color work.

Its the most gorgeous nude out there, and will look great on any skintone. I always use this when I do a smokey eye.

looks great with or without lipgloss, and its one of those MAC lipsticks that actually lasts a long time.

Pros

-great for any skintone
-lasts long

Cons
-NONE

I recommend everyone to try this out, its the most underrated MAC lipstick!!

This has got to be one of the best shades of nude ever! It was my very first M.A.C lipstick and I love it, and it was the beginning of a very expensive addiction to M.A.C lipsticks. The only thing I hate about M.A.C lipstick is the packaging always reminds me that it looks like a large tampon.

This is a very unique shade of nude...not quite peach, pink, beige, touch of gray....lovely..it's a nude that does not wash you out..just enough warmth. It looks great with a smokey eye, or even natural makeup..highly recommend. I'm tough to please when it comes to nude lipsticks and I would definitely purchase this again.

Absolutely love this color and the quality of this product. Smells pleasant, and works great with my skintone. Perfect for a pale pink/nude lip. Looks well with a daytime smokey eye also. Love it! Would def. repurchase!

Well, its more like a MAYBE if I bought the product again. I was very iffy on this one. The lip color alone makes me look like a crack head with my skin tone! It makes my lips look too pale. I had to add a touch of pink lip gloss to make it wearable. I think this color would look lovely on a person with light skin tone, if they're looking for a nude look. But be careful! As everyone knows, MAC matte lipstick's formula is very drying! Lip prep before hand would be ideal.

This is a great nude/MLBB lipstick. I'm a NW20, dark brown eyes and hair, and I find this is just perfect. It is a genuinely neutral beige with a matte finish, with just a touch of rose to avoid those dreaded "concealer lips"! I love it for playing up a deep smoky eye look, or bright eye colours. The texture is a little dry, but the tradeoff is that it lasts very well and wears off evenly. I sometimes put a gloss over it, if I don't want to be quite so matte.

I prefer this to Blankety (too pale) and Kinda Sexy (too pink, and a touch darker) and will definitely keep buying it for as long as they make it! And I use it a lot - almost daily at the moment. Great for work and play!
