I love this :) other people have said it doesn't really stop your hair getting oily, but it does for me. My hair isn't VERY greasy but I did have to wash it every day before I started using this, and now I can happily only wash it every other day :)
It smells lovely, but sadly the smell doesn't really last once your hair dries. It lathers and cleans well and my hair actually seems to be in better condition since I've started using this, as there are no harsh chemicals. One bar also lasts absolutely ages, and it's much more environmentally friendly than most shampoos, which is never a bad thing.
I would recommend it, but it seems like it only works if you have a particular hair type. my sister has seriously thick, dry hair and she hates using this because she ends up looking like she's got an afro!

This shampoo bar did not work for me at all. I have very oily hair, which I have to wash every day. This shampoo bar is formulated for oily hair, so I thought it would make my hair less oily. However, my hair gets oilier faster when I use this. Plus, it gives me dandruff and a very itchy scalp! Therefore, I only use it on the weekends...
PROS:
- Nice scent
- Convenient
- Takes less time to wash hair
- Lasts a long time (had mine for almost 5 months, and it will probably last another 2 months).
CONS:
- Doesn't leave hair feeling clean
- Hair is oilier
- Dandruff
- Itchy scalp

I have quite oily hair and have heard that this shampoo is supposed to help so i decided to try it. It smells great but does not translate through to my hair. I have always needed to wash my hair every day because it is so oily and I find I still do. While my hair does feel clean after using the shampoo bar, it becomes oily in the same amount of time it usually takes my hair while using any other shampoo. I might end up repurchasing it though because I enjoy the smell and the concept behind a shampoo bar. However, I'm not quite convinced it is actually helping my hair at all.

Had high hopes for this shampoo since it was recommended on some website as Best for Oily Scalp No2 - I'm forever on a quest to find a shampoo to combat my oil scalp which gets greasy day after washing it.
First time I used this shampoo I really thought my greasy scalp was banished (how stupid!) my scalp felt very clean and my hair was in lovely condition (but this is normal when I use a new shampoo for the 1st time)
But sadly my hair was oily day after washing, maybe not as much so, but have used it a few times now and its doesnt make my hair any less oily.
The quest continues.....

I absolutely love this shampoo. I have quite an oily scalp and I used to wash my hair every other day, and by the time came to wash it again, I felt it was still greasy by then. However, I didn't want to wash it every day (I tried it and felt my hair was even oilier). I was desperate to find something that worked. I'm so glad I found this product! It makes my hair oil-free, light and voluminous. It's a bit pricey, but it lasts for ages so I think it's worth it. I feel like my whole hair has changed since I started using this product - and for the better.

I have not personally have not used this product, so I feel awkward writing a review for it. However, I have seen the results on my friend and I actually cannot believe it.
I purchased this solid shampoo for her for christmas, as she had been complaining about her oily scalp. She had given up hope and started washing her hair with supermarket shampoo and not using conditioner, and it still got oily every single day. I was in Lush purchasing gifts for some of my family members that I know like Lush, saw this and thought it would be perfect for her. I purchased it, and now both she and I can't believe the results. She can now go two days without washing her hair, it is nice, clean, soft and shiny for two days without her needing to wash it. I couldn't stop sniffing her present as I thought it smelled fabulous, and she seems to like the smell too. It isn't too overpowering and seems to fade reasonably quickly, but that isn't too bad if you are after something inoffensive.
I use Lush Squeaky Green, and so can comment on the ease of use of the bars - easy as pie. I at first was sceptical of these as I assumed it would be a kin to washing your hair with soap, but I think so long as you get the right bar for your hair type, they work really well. All I can say is that this bar seems to be perfect for people with greasy hair who want to be able to go a few more days without washing.

I had really high hopes for this product -- I have fine, permed, long hair that gets so greasy after one day that I must wash it every other day otherwise it starts looking super dirty. I first noticed this product when it was the #1 choice to get rid of greasy hair from an online list that was posted. Purchased it and tried it out. The smell is great, slight lemony, lavender scent to me. With a bit of water, the bar produces a lot of suds and does a great job of cleaning - squeaky clean - almost TOO clean. It created a whole mess of tangles in my hair that normally doesn't occur when I use other shampoos. I haven't had so many tangles since I was a kid. I've had to add so much conditioner in order to detangle the whole mess. After drying, my hair does look great, but it didn't have the effect that I was looking for. My hair got just as greasy as any other shampoo. I still had to wash my hair every other day. This bar reminded me of Neutrogena's anti-residue shampoo in that it cleans very well, but nothing for preventing the oily-ness. As the other reviewers have mentioned, the bar of soap must be kept in a water-tight container, otherwise it'll melt away. It does seem like it'll last for a while, but the fact that it doesn't do as it claims makes me not want to repurchase!

This shampoo bar did combat my oily hair (for reference I need to shampoo my hair daily or else it will be an icky oily mess!). And with this I could get away without shampooing for a day and half. Not even 2 days! So ended up shampooing daily anyway. It dried my scalp down and made it itchy and sensitive! It was such an uncomfortable experience. I think this was made for really oily haired people. Also, if you do not put it in the tin container or any container away from the shower this bar will disintegrate in 3 weeks.

My favorite shampoo bar, and it lasts forever, I bought this 5 months ago and still half of it is left and I wash my hair just about every other day. It smells very nice and does a good job on my oily roots and leaves my hair very soft and bouncy. The only thing that could make it better was if it wasn't drying, but a good conditioner takes care of that.

I love this shampoo! My hair is curly but when I wear it straight, it gets very oily at the roots and I can't get many days out of a blowout. This shampoo bar has allowed me to get three days out of a blowout, which is unheard of for me! It's a great value as well since you get so many shampoos out of it!

A little goes a long way with this solid shampoo bar. Just a little rub on the hair all over and there is a lot of lathering action going on. This product is all that it is described and then some. Cleans, shines, lathers well and smells good. Just wish the scent lasted a lot longer in my hair. However, it is drying and I need to use a conditioner after, but I still LOVE it.

let me preface this by saying that the ONLY reason i would not buy jumping juniper again is because my two HGs are LUSHs seanik solid shampoo bar and BIG shampoo. jumping juniper performs very well, leaving my fine, slightly oily asian hair clean and soft and lightly lemon-y scented, but without the same level of volume that i get from seanik and BIG (by the way, those of you with my hair type -- buy BIG. right now. give in to the hype because that shampoo is amazing. enthralling. twitterpating. where was i?). as with many of LUSHs products, i love the packaging for this item -- a solid shampoo puck that you must store in a tin and keep dry, otherwise it will melt away. but if you store it properly, one of these babies will last you close to three months with near daily use, which makes it both economically and environmentally sound. i usually dont condition afterward, either, as most conditioners weigh my hair down, but once or twice a week i will deep condition with burts bees shea & grapefruit deep conditioner, or spritz on a bit of biolage smoothing milk while my hair is still damp.

I love almost all LUSH products! My favorites are by far the solid shampoo bars. I LOVE them!! They last so much longer than bottled shampoo and they're so much better for the environment. I honestly used this bar for 3 months. I only rub the bar on the roots of my hair because I have oily roots but dry ends. So just rinsing the shampoo through my ends is enough. The juniper smells amazing and it wasn't too drying or anything. I would absolutely recommend it! I would recommend lush shampoo bars in general because they're awesome. I'll never go back to using bottled shampoo =] !

Jumping Juniper is a great shampoo for fine, greasy hair. It has a slight citrusy smell, leaves hair CLEAN and THICK. Kudos for the ingenious idea of it being a solid perfume that you can take everywhere without having to worry about leaks or anything else. I would have given it five stars but it doesn't last that long as with all LUSH products. But a very very very good shampoo, if you have fine hair.

I have greasy hair which needs to be washed every two days. On top of that, my scalp was itching and I was not happy. My hair dresser commented that I use too many different products for my hair which is why my scalp is irritated and causes a little dandruff. She was right, I had about 4 products in use! So, I dismissed them all, did some research and decided to give LUSH shampoos a try. I was going for BIG but then decided to get this little purple friend instead.
I have been using this alone for over a month now. Application is easy - just give the bar a few swirls on your wet hair. After I rinse this off, I have the impression that my hair is somewhat dry and fuzzy but on the other hand it's making those squeaky noises as if really clean. As soon as I comb through, the fuzzy impression is gone. *shrugs*
My scalp says thank you and stopped itching. My hair looks and feels really great with natural shine but without being greasy - it hasn't been that great and healthy in years.
I love this and would buy this again although I wish they made a better packaging for these!
UPDATE: After more than a year of use, I adore this product even more. My hair is perfection. The fuzzy feeling I described has gone. I think it was the mineral oil residue in my hair that caused this. Now that my hair is mineral oil free, I am a very happy camper using just this purple lover!

I liked this solid shampoo a lot, it is the first one I've ever used, and I really enjoyed it. It has a nice light herbal smell, and lathered really well, I have really thick hair and it only took a couple swipes over my hair to give enough for a really good lather, it didn't dry out my hair, I didn't feel a need to have to use a conditioner. It doesn't make my scalp dry, itchy, or give me dandruff, its great! It also gives my hair amazing volume, doesn't leave it flat at all. It takes up hardly any space in my product overwhelmed shower either.

I find all Lush shampoo bars completely hazardous to my scalp! I've tried three of them, and not even the ones suitable for sensitive scalps were gentle enough. You might just as well use Fairy liquid.
Jumping Juniper was the worst of those I tried. It made my scalp very itchy, almost causing wounds, and left my hair all dry. And yes, I DO have oily roots...

Excellent shampoo bar!
I've tried numerous shampoos for greasy hair, but none of them have really worked. Jumping Juniper leaves my hair clean and soft. I wash my hair every other day, and on the second day it's always slightly greasy, but not when I use this shampoo bar.
Also, it's cheap, lathers well, and smells nice.

pros: very very good at cleaning my greasy roots, lathers real well, doesn't strip my hair, instead leaves it feeling soft, lovely purple color
cons: subtle scent, can cause dandruff (?), pretty expensive.
i am so excited with this product. i usually wait a month before i write reviews but im "astounded" with the results after using this, once, hee-hee. so i use it after a particularly greasy hair day, lather and rinse, dry with a towel. i am a bit skeptical since i've had greasy hair for the longest time, but soon as i stepped out of the shower and dried my hair, i was tempoparily speechless, my roots were squeaky clean and best of all, it didn't strip it off too much moisture unlike most clarifying shampoos do. i am so glad i bought these, out of the many "indulgences" i managed to purchase this month, this is clearly at the top. i was on the lookout for a clarifying shampoo ever since a hairdresser commented that i have oily roots, i looked around at makeupalley, read rave reviews on seanik and bookmarked it on my brain to be purchased once my schedule allows me. once inside the lovely lush store, i took a whiff of seanik and was immediately put off by the scent. it smelled a bit fishy to me, i was a bit disheartened then i catch a view of jumping juniper sitting right beside seanik, and there it was: jumping juniper, for greasy roots. hmm, okay it must smell nice enough for me to purchase it, and it does smell nice. it doesnt last that long and i dont mind it since i used this before i go to bed. the best part about this is that my hair feels squeaky clean, i cant stress that enough. and my hair feels soo soft, it would be hard to believe that its all thanks to a solid shampoo bar. if someone told me that a solid shampoo is just as good as a regular shampoo, i'd be skeptical, but this manages to win me over.
some members commented that this gave them dandruffs, im not sure about that since i haven't experienced that yet..i hope i wont. but for safety's sake, i recommend using this once or twice a week.
the price can turn off some, but i can see that this product wil last long especially if stored on the right container.
highly recommended.
