I've been using various dry shampoos for 5-6 years and I've always had to make a trip to the salon or Sephora to get one, where they cost me $20-$25. This one I found while browsing at Walgreen's and for $6 I had to give it a try. While it doesn't absorb as much oil as the pricey versions- it also doesn't leave as much of a residue. The fresh scent doesn't linger but my hair looks clean all day. I compared the ingredients in Pssssssst with my high end bottles and the they were very similar. So glad I found this stuff!

I've used many a dry shampoo and this is just as good as any of the high end versions. The best way to use it is to apply it the night before if you know that you won't be able to shampoo the next day; this way the shampoo can absorb oil through the night and you won't wake up with oily *or* powdery hair. And, if you have fine hair your hair will be slightly fuller. If you do apply in the morning or do see some powder, just rub it in or spray on a bit of hairspray.

I was expecting a slightly bigger bottle, but I'm not going to complain about the $6 price-tag for a dry-shampoo. It's the cheapest one yet! It has a light, fresh scent that fades quickly. It DOES mattify your hair a bit, but not much. Definitely gets rid of any oiliness post gym/ after few days of not washing. It needs to be dispersed evenly, or it will look ashy in certain places. Volume-wise-- it lifted my hair a tiny bit but the effect was transient and short-lived. Wish it did more for volume. Otherwise, pretty good.

After seeing this on allure I decided to give it a try. It is great for busy people who don't have time to wash their hair often or style their hair and don't want to restyle. I just spray on my scalp and fluff it, the white stuff soaks in and tadah, I'm done. It does not mess with my styled hair. It's a great time saver for those late nights I'm busy studying and don't have time to wash my hair.

Wow! I love this product! This is great to use on days where you can't wash your hair, on trips, after sports.. The list goes on and on. I just flip my head upside down, spray this all over, fluff, brush out, and I'm ready to go. I haven't seen the white-ish powder some other reviewers have talked about, and I have very dark brown, almost black hair, so I would notice it. I have no problems with the spray can it comes in. It does have a scent, but it doesn't linger for long. I will definitely be purchasing this again!

No need to buy expensive dry shampoos -- this is as good as those, if not better. I've tried more expensive dry shampoos and had issues with visible white powder. While this can be powdery if ove-rapplied and/or if not brushed out, it's generally not a problem. I get it for about $7-8 at my local Walgreens. I LOVE it.

This product works. I have hair extensions and Psssssst helps on the days that I do not wash my hair. I didn't notice any scent and it did not leave a white powder or residue on my hair like Salon Grafix. The instant spray shampoo took away the oil from bangs and the sides of my hair quickly, and it was easy to brush through my hair. Presto, my hair is clean. In my opinion, all of these products are overpriced - $6.00 for 4.0 oz. is expensive.

I've tried this a few times so I could start de-oilifying my hair on days I didn't wash it. And so far - it's not all that bad. You just have to be sure to cover all of your oily areas and brush it out so it's evenly dispersed throughout your hair. When I sprayed it on, you could definitely see a white powdery substance, but it disappeared right away when I brushed it out. Afterwards, the greasy strands of hair are gone and you can see non-greasy hair! And I have pretty greasy hair and it's black so the oil is very noticeable. I'm still getting a hang on trying to spray where my hair needs it the most because I seem to be missing oily spots so uh you still see it. But the most important thing for me is that it gets rid of the worst of it without looking like I didn't shower for days or something. The one thing that had me taking off a lippie is that it doesn't do anything for my hair volume-wise. My hair is still limp and there isn't exactly a volume factor that amps up my hair. But it doesn't say it's a volumizer so I should just invest in a volumizing spray. I'm just slightly reluctant to get one since my hair is oily enough just after one day without washing and definitely doesn't need anything more to weight it down. Otherwise, the spray does what it says and I think it gets me through the day. I noticed that I might have to spray it several hours later to cover up the oil, but again, it depends on where you sprayed it and if you combed it evenly through your hair, I think. Definitely still experimenting. Also, it's unscented so no weird smells emanating from your hair! Yays. I would recommend this if you're just looking for a dry shampoo at a low price that will get you through your day until you actually have the chance to wash your hair.

This product is wonderful if you don't / can't wash your hair daily. It is white, but brushes out to be virtually invisible. I have darker hair and it lifts me barely half a shade, if that. It does mattify, but my hair texture isn't sleek and shiny anyway, so it makes no difference.

I wish it came in a travel size!

I just bought my third can of this. I had planned not to review this because I've had little experience with dry shampoos. I have curly hair, and only began straightening it five months ago. I haven't tried another dry shampoo because the rest are too expensive. I begin using this product on day two, and use it again on day three. It works very well - it makes my hair smell fresh, absorbs the oil, and makes my style again without dulling it (just don't overdo it).
The reason I decided to review it was that yesterday, on day three, I went to spray this product in to refresh my hair, but I used sunscreen by accident! It was the new Aveeno spray one, and I gave my BANGS a huge spray, just before I went out. I screamed, "Aack!" and quickly sprayed Psssssst in the same spot. I fluffed, waited a few minutes, and then brushed. All the oil was gone! So a third day without washing/sunscreen filled hair can be saved with this cheap dry shampoo can.
I'm only giving it four lippies because I want a product that gets me beyond three days. Maybe that's asking too much. Highly recommended.

I couldn't believe it when I saw this in my local Walgreens. I remember it from my teens and thought it had been discontinued. I have long hair and don't like to wash it every night. When it starts to look greasy at the part on day 2 after shampoo, I had been 'refreshing' my hair with talcum powder, face powder, blusher. Psssssst really does help get through that 2nd day and I forgot how much body it adds! I THINK I read that it now comes in other colors besides 'talc white' but I haven't seen any yet. This is great for trips, after excersizing... passed some along to my daughter to use during finals week. There are pricier dry shampoos--Bumble and bumble has one. I haven't tried it so can't compare. I got a big can of Psssssst with a travel size for under $5. Deal!

I love the way this works, it's convenient, cheap, effective. But look at the contents- the first ingredient is PROPANE! It also contains butane and isobutane. I do NOT want those ingredients anywhere near my body! The skin absorbs much of what is applied to it, so I just don't feel comfortable spraying this near my scalp and breathing it in, no matter how great the product is. I'll stick with a bit of baby powder for me.

I love this product!! I exclaimed to my husband, "I never have to wash my hair again!" I kid, I kid, I know that's gross. However, after reading that Brooke Shield's hair secret is that she only washes her hair ever 4-6 days, I thought I might go a little longer than my every other day thing. Anyhow, with this product I can, and it is so affordable. I dislike that it is aerosol, but hey, who's perfect! Btw, I have long thick hair.

Longtime faithful follower of this stuff! A couple of years ago I would have said "It's pretty good" but I swear they changed something and it's "Awesome!" now!

I can go a week between shampoos with this stuff! If you use it as directed, this stuff really works. I spray it on my roots, fluff, then finish getting ready and brush my hair before I leave. That usually does the trick but if not, a little quick rubbing gets any remaining white out. It leaves my hair soft and has a (new) fresh scent. It's very faint, but much better than the old musty smell it used to have. And voila - oily hair is gone.

I buy several cans at a time of this (so I never run out!), especially when it's on sale. And such a nice price too! Far less than "designer" spray/powder shampoos, and since I've sampled them all - I can say this one works better than them anyway.

The packaging seems to be improved too. The nozzle used to stick sometimes after spraying, and you'd have to wiggle it to keep it from sticking down and using all the air in the can. Now I have no problems with that and don't have to wiggle any more :)

Bottom line, I don't know what I'd do without this stuff. I'm always running late and have fairly dry hair so I don't wash it every day. This keeps it fresh and no one is the wiser. I will never stop buying this!

It's a staple for me. By the time my roots are oily, my ends are still dry, so I spray this on my roots. That way, I don't have to wash my hair and make my ends even dryer. It doesn't make my hair feel weird, it smells nice, and it's cheap.

I love this product! I just bought a new can, and I think they changed the smell! I did not like the old smell, but the new one has a very faint coconut smell, even though the can says odor free. I prefer the light coconut smell to odor free anyway. It works well, too. I have medium brown highlighted hair that is very oily, and this lets me get away with not washing my hair every day on occasion.

I liked the product because it did a pretty good job at cleaning up my fine blond hair between washings. Having said that, I will never buy it again. I had the same problem with two different cans. There was a lot of product still in the can and no oomph left to spray it out. I cleaned the spray nozzles in hot water but they would still "spit". What a waste. I like aerosol because of the ease and light application compared to dumping powder on your hair. I wish the company would improve their product.
I know I vowed never to by this product again but I was desperate this summer and wasn't happy with my Oscar Blandi dry shampoo. I have now purchased three cans over the last few months. It still performs nicely on my fine somewhat blond hair with oily roots. It has a light clean fragrance and doesn't leave a telltale white residue. Clairol must have done something to the product because the cans empty completely without any problems. I do shake the can several times while using and am not sure if this also helps. Will keep purchasing.

I had surgery 4 days ago and my doctor told me, unfortunately, that I can't shower until she removes this tubing from my body which drains fluid from the site of the incision. (gross, I know) Anyways, it really sucks because I'm really sensitive to the sensation of oil in my hair, even if it doesn't look oily. It usually starts bothering me 24 hours after showering so imagine my consternation at not being able to shower for 4 days! My sisters bought Psssssst for me and I've been using it for the past 2 days. It does a decent job of making my hair LOOK good, but I still feel icky. It's not bad. I thought I would have a problem with it since the product is white and I have black hair, but I use a dense, natural bristle brush to comb it out which works pretty well. The smell of it doesn't bother me. I have to use it about twice a day to look and feel somewhat refreshed. I imagine Psssssst would be great for camping and for backpacking trips where daily showering would be difficult. Still, I can't wait to give myself a nice, long, real shampoo tomorrow.

This stuff really really works!!!! I used it on my blonde hair and I could go a week without shampooing my hair, which normally gets too oily by the day after I shampoo. Unfortunately, I think this was making me break out. I know that sounds really odd, since this goes on your head, but I was breaking on the days after I used this. I think the overspray was irritating my skin. I even tried to cover my face, but it still broke me out. Oh well....it's still an incredible product!!!!
