I tried the cleansing cream and I think it may take a lot to get used to. There was something in it that irritated my skin. I never have acne, but after rinsing I got red raised bumps. I was disappointed with the consistency and I felt sort of greasy or dirty after. Almost like I had a coating of oiliness on my face. That was a hard feeling to get used to. I have heard so much positivity for Dr. Hauschka products, but I don't think I can use this product again, unfortunately.

As with all of the Dr. Hauschka facial cleansing products I've tried, continued use only created irritation and clogged pores when I use the whole product line.

I have to believe that these products are for a certain type of skin, but certainly not mine. However, it is not hard to be drawn to the holistic approach. One wants to be natural. But anyone with reactive or acne/clog-prone skin should definitely discontinue use if you begin to see skin becoming worse instead of better. As many reviewers state, it doesn't get better if these products don't work for you. You can wish all you want. And pay a pretty penny for all your wishing.

****I have edited my review for this product***. I am one of those for whom the cleanser does not work. After much trial and error, I realized that this cleanser caused irritation and clogged pores--small bumps that I would feel when washing and could see. In addition, my face began to get hives--specifically related to the use of this product. The hives would show up around my hairline, eyebrows, and under my eyes. A few days of discontinuation and the hives disappeared. Needless to say, this product is a no-go for me. I have somewhat sensitive skin...and sorry, but the natural-is-better does not work for me in this case. Sensitive/reactive skin: beware!

This made my skin look really good (though it wasn't bad to begin with) after using it for about three weeks but after that my cheeks were covered in small skin colored bumps. I continued using it and nothing changed, so I dumped this waste of money and my skin eventually cleared up.

I first got this product in a set and then bought and used up a full sized tube. I'll buy again if it's on sale. it's expensive for a cleanser. But works so well in geting my dry and sensitive skin clean and soft.

I used this cleanser for about 4 years. I LOVE IT. When paired with the Clarifying Toner, for my skin type, this skin routine works wonders. I bought and re-bought and re-bought forever but for the past couple of months I can no longer afford to pay this much for a cleanser. I used it twice a day morning and evening and it makes your skin feel so lovely.

Negative point: too expensive! But the quality is there.

hope to get back of the Dr. Hauschka bandwagon when I have more $$$$

I love this stuff! I use this (or the similar Jurlique daily exfoliator) every morning before moisturizer/make-up and sometimes at night after my normal cleanser. It leaves my skin dewy and soft. It's also helped with my clogged pores and the dry patches on my cheeks. It takes a little practise to get it to the right consistency for the press-and-roll application, and can be a bit messy but I mostly use it in the shower so it's not an issue. Probably not a good idea to use this if you've ever had a nut allergy, as it's basically just ground up almonds. Absolutely love what this does for my skin. I've used it for years with great results.

I've used this on my oily Tzone for about a month now at night after using the Dr. H Cleansing Milk on my entire face. At first I didn't like it, but now there are nights where I can't waiting to use the cream!
Pros: Smell that I now love, used with water it really does gently deep clean without irritating.
Cons: Price. Ouch! I could go through this quickly if I'm not careful. But it's working, so I will continue to buy after using sparingly.

I've been using the Cleansing Cream and the Clarifying Toner on my combination skin for about two years. I love the results and won't use anything else on my face. My pores are smaller, my skin is much less oily and I have fewer breakouts. The redness on my face, which I assumed was natural but was apparently just irritation, has decreased. Although it's expensive, I now spend less money on concealers and oil-control products, so it's worth it for me.

First, let me just say that I think the success of this line might be based on the products from other lines you decide to pair it with AND if you can afford to keep buying Dr. H products!

I got this cleanser from Whole Foods. The SA highly recommended the entire line. One thing I don't like about the Dr. H line is that the products are not multi-taskers. This product is not meant to take off makeup, and it doesn't! For that, you have to get the Cleansing Milk for $40. The cleansing cream is about $27 and the line recommends that you use the Lavender bath at $35 to remove the cleansing cream. Are you still with me? We're at about $100 to wash your face!

This line may work very well if you can afford all the many elements. I cannot, but I wanted to see if incorporating this one product and supplementing the idea of the Lavender bath and the cleansing milk with organic products that are "cheaper" might work. Nope. I tried to pair with Avalon Lavender wash and Welleda cleaning milk and the products are a nightmare together.

I mainly use this in the morning, in the shower. Be CAREFUL of your eyes. The gritty grains easily get into your eyes when you rinse. Frankly, if you are using the product the way this line recommends it, the tube will only last you 3 weeks. My attempt to use it once per day and stretch the life of the product has not gotten me anything by mediocre results if any and I know for sure it is breaking me out.

Bottom line, this product and the Dr. H line is not for me. There are too many expensive products needed to get results and it would simply be too expensive to use as directed, BUT this is not to say it won't work well for someone else.

i'm not sure if my skin likes this stuff ... i probably shouldn't review it quite yet, i suppose, because i have had it less than three weeks ... but my skin is freaking out. i started the whole system, taking it in week increments: started with normalizing day oil, then cleansing cream, and just recently the toner (which seemed to help the aggravation initially but now i can't tell). i have read a mixed bag of reviews about this line ... can anyone else empathize? i know it's the cleanser doing the most damage b/c i have spots all around my hairline. i think i'll quit it for a while and see what happens. i've got white heads galore and my forehead is covered with bumps - did any of you experience this & did it go away?
cheers!

I used to have rosacea - then someone recommended this brand. Loved it. It helped take my rosacea from small hard cysts to barely pink skin!

Update: This used to be my go to brand. And it was wonderful and couldn't sing it's praises loud enough. It really got my rosacea under control.

But after a few years I really started to prickle at the cost. Now I use Earth Science A D & E face cleaner - I actually like it better than Dr. H's creamy cleanser, rose water and coconut oil. I've been using these for two years. My skin still gets many compliments, and I have saved so much money.

This is an amazing product for most people with oily/congested/acneic and/or sensitive skin. My biggest gripe is that unfortunately I go through it very quickly (unlike all other Dr H products I've tried) which makes it quite expensive. It's still a better deal than some other organic products which cost twice as much and aren't as fabulous as this one.
You really must follow the directions - it's not formulated as a scrub and doesn't work well as one, but it's amazing when exfoliation is needed but will irritate skin over time if not approached in a gentle manner. I will confess that it took a bit of getting used to, but I firmly believe that it's one of the highest quality daily facial cleansers for congested/acneic/and oily skin anywhere on the market.

There is just nothing like this product available that completely removes blackheads and leaves your skin super clean.
I find myself coming back to it all the time.
If you use this in combination with the clarifying toner, your skil will look and feel amazing!

This is my first review and I felt compelled to write it as what I've just seen in the mirror is truly nothing short of a miracle.

I've been using Dr H for just under a year and I can safely say this is by far my favourite product. I love it! It works best when used in conjunction with the other products in the range but it is the foundation to yummy skin! My skin type is oily so I use this with the facial toner and face oil! I used to be prone to break outs and uneven skin - now my skin is pretty much FLAWLESS. If I stop using the products my skin reverts back so you must use it as directed. Some people don't like the smell, but I do. It's a bit like hops and barley. YUM! This is not like an ordinary astringent face wash you have to work it in I usually take about 3 minutes with this product, so where reviewers have said it doesn't feel like the product is cleansing enough I would say stick with it - massage a little longer and don't forget to follow up with a toner and moisturiser.

I was disappointed by this product having heard such great things about it. Its wierd to use as you are supposed to buy expensive muslin cloths to take it on and off, rub it around in a certain way, and didnt make my skin feel clean, or take makeup off. I also started to experience wierd pimply bumps in between my eyebrows when using this which I never had before.
Probably good for some people but not my combination skin and not good at removing makeup in my view.

I have used this periodically and have really tried to love it as it has a lot of natural ingredients,is gentle and has glowing reviews but for me it leaves very average results.
I would never use it to remove make up but have used it for a morning cleanse and after a lot of faffing my skin just kind of looks normal. No real difference that makes me want to use it on a regular basis.

I got a sample of this in a gift set and promptly purchased the full size product. I have been using my tube for about two months and I have about 1/3 of a tube left. This cleanser doesn't remove makeup, so I use it in the morning in the shower. It is a grainy paste that you wet and push gently into your skin. I let it sit for the duration of my shower and rinse it off at the very end. You aren't supposed to rub or scrub, by I do once a week or so, to get a little more exfoliation power. This product does not strip the moisture barrier of your skin, and I love the way my skin feels after using it. The scent is OK, but you can definitely tell there is some alcohol in the product. I'm not sure why they have to add alcohol, but it has not dried out my skin at all. I really like the toothpaste tube style packaging, and only wish it had a flip top instead of a cap that you have to screw off. I will continue to use, unless I can find a less expensive alternative. It doesn't contain and parabens or undesirable chemicals (except the alcohol).

I love this cleanser, I have been using this on and off for many moons. I am impressed by the results after using this. Its gentle enough to use on a regular basis - however I use this every 3 or 4 days after washing my hair, its just easier when all my hair is pulled right back off my face, no baby fine hair pops out ... its easy to see results after use, my skin feels and looks great. Highly recommended. EDIT: out of budget range for me these days.

This is the best peeling wash cream for sensitive skin with rosacea!!! I've used it already a few monthes in the cold winter, it doesnt dry out and feels very soft and I'm loving the light scent of this cleanser too ^.^

After peeling cleansing, my skin feels totally soft and clean with pink fresh look on my cheeks.

Of cause, there is exactly a way to use it in order to get the full functions of this cleansing cream, it's written on the paper inside the packaging, I've followewd the steps and it works great for me :-)

Just use it like you have always used a cleanser .... doesnt help much I think.

I've bought this so many times. I keep coming back to it, time and time again. I have dry but congested skin. This product cleanses gently on the deep pore level. It clears out my pores...not totally but still it makes a marked improvement. My blackheads are less apparent. This is one of the most expensive cleansers possible I don't use as much as the instructions say to use. The dilution with a few drops of water in your palm is key. Also, I leave it on for mast 2x a week. I love the weird smell: fruit, fermentation, flowers.
