Well I bought this product for something of a concealer, I was surprised by the price tbh, I definitely think it is a bit over priced. But other than that I love this product, I have had it for about 2 months now and I have only used up a little bit, even though I use it everyday. Its great and I love it, but it is not to good for oily and acne prone skin which i have because i have to reply it a couple of times through the day, but with the good powder to set it, it works fine for me.

so, i firstly bought this product because i was drawn to the idea of a mousse foundation being in a jar instead of the more commonly known, squirty can thingy. My initial plan was not to use as a foundation but more of a concealer because as many people have said, it has very good coverage. i also liked the way it looked when applied. i applied this to my nose, chin and in between my eyebrows just for spot cover-up and redness. it looked very even and just heavy enough to cover but not cakey. instead of scooping the product from the jar, try dabbing at the mousse and smoothing on in small sections. this might help with any uneven-ness or dry patches forming. this product was overall, very well packaged but there really wasn't much product in the jar, but substantial enough for what i payed which was $15 CAD. the product was very nice and i think this would work best on oily or very oily skin because it was a little drying on my skin and i think it does live up to its name. dream matte mousse foundation (concealer in my case) was a very successful product for me.

This worked wonders for me! My skin is both oily and dry, and after putting this on, I saw no shine :) But it dried it out a tad bit. Not a lot, just a little. Ignoring that, it had the greatest cover up! Really, the best foundation I've used. And you never run out of this fast because you only have to use a little! :) I would recommend this to anyone!

I had heard so many varied reviews on this product. Some said it was bad, others said it was the best they'd ever tried. So, I gave it a go.
Naturally, I have quite oily skin but manage to control it with regular cleanser and moisturiser. I scrubbed my face and moisturised, before putting on this Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in Nude shade. I applied it everywhere in a thin layer as I usually have quite clear and fresh skin, so I don't wear makeup on a daily basis.
I was torn with the results. It left my face smooth and my complexion was glowing and even, but in some areas, it would go very dry and start to flake off. I don't have dry skin whatsoever and so this was a surprise. The texture and overall appearance was fantastic, I was initially drawn to the title of a mousse foundation. But it left me dissapointed.
Even with a thin layer, it started to flake off my face and leave some areas very dry. The price is quite cheap and the packaging was great, but the product was not! Do not buy!

I did not like this foundation at all I have normal to dry skin applying this foundation with a brush or fingers just left it looking extremely cakey and was not easy to blend at all. The range of colours and overall coverage of the foundation was good but it was not at all as good as expected.

Wow. I am very suprised of the genrually good reviews. I bought this foundation in porcelien ivory and at was far to dark for my medium fair skin. As this is their lightest color i find this unacceptable!
Pros:
Nice packaging
Price is okay
Cons:
Very drying
Horrible feeling on face
Terrible shades
Doesnt cover spots
Sinks into fine lines

I love love love this foundation. The Consistancy is amazing! Makes my skin feel so soft and look flawless! I love all the products in the Dream Mousse line! The color is a tad too dark for my porcelion skin( Even though I got Porcelain Ivory! ) It blends in well though and you would never know it! I definitely recommend this product for people with ALL skin types. Its so moisturizing so Dry Skin people, this is amazing. It works with oily skin too! Way to go Maybelline! May be your BEST face product!

This is the only foundation I didn't have a struggle with when it came to finding my shade. It matched me perfectly! And that was a shocker, because other foundations just normally caked up on my skin. I bought mine in Caramel 02. First of all, I would only recommend this to the oily skin ladies.. And about the complains about this highlighting dry spots, what I normally do is use a gentle scrub on my face prior to the application of this foundation. That helps provide a smooth canvas. I apply this over my Loreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream, and set with my translucent powder..and voila!! Beautiful skin at its best. I wouldn't call this my HG foundation, but until I find one that's better, I'll be sticking to my Maybelline.

This mousse texture of this foundation makes it very difficult to achieve anything less then medium to full coverage so for me it was not a pleasant feeling on my skin. It apply best with fingers but even if you are after a full coverage foundation I wouldn't recommend this one because it sticks to any dry areas and emphasises the size and shape of any blemishes. So the texture and actual feel of the foundation is not to my liking but on a particularly bad skin day I STUPIDLY founded myself turning to this little glass pot and my bad skin day got so much worse! After wearing it for the day I came home to wash my face and my skin had got so much worse since putting the product on. I wouldn't recommend this foundation to anyone and although it might make your skin look perfect for a day or two it is really not worth the after effects.

For the price and for what it does this is an average product. Nothing spectacular and nothing horrific either. If you have no other options and can only afford this, you can make it work. You will need a good moisturizer before and good cleanser after. You might need a nice primer tooo. Otherwise it will slide off your face if you have any oil whatsover. There are better products on the market. When I think of Maybelline, I think of practice make up. Meaning this is a great stocking stuffer for a 11 year old girl to practice with. It is cheap and can be thrown away. When she is older 16 she will need to graduate to better products on the maket that will help her skin and make her glow.
Pros:
Cheap
Easy to find anywhere even the grocery store
Basic colors are available and mixed you might be able to get this to work.
Goes on smoothly, no rough texture.
Cons....
Does not last
Can create break outs (on my daughter it did)
Does not work with dry skin or overly oily skin
Oxidizes making an orange cast to the tone of color
Careful when applying to cover everything as it has a tendency to look patchy
If you have sensitive skin this is not the one for you.
Does not cover acne or problem areas

Awful. Extremely cakey, I had very dry skin and this just emphasized. I also seemed to notice that this caked around my blemished and made them stand out even more, even with primer it appeared to melt off my face.

The product goes on smoothly and provides perfect coverage for my skin. I literally just dabbed my finger on it and that was enough for half my face. I dont have many imperfections to cover- I just used it to even my skin tone and it worked like a charm. If you want full coverage- I would recommend you heck Cover Fx. The only reason I gave the product a 2/5 is that it made my skin break out- and it takes A LOT for me to break out- as in I can't remember when was the last time I had a pimple before I started using the product. It's a shame because I loved the texture and blended perfect with my olive skin.

After hearing all the brilliant feedback Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse received, I decided to go out and buy it. The first time I tried it, I was disappointed. It highlighted all the dry parts on my skin and sunk into any fine lines or wrinkles I had. The next time I tried it, I moisturised and primed before and it made a huge difference. This time around, I adored it. It made my skin look dewy and fresh with a perfect finish. I wouldn't recommend applying this with a brush as it leaves very obvious brush strokes. The best way to apply this is with the fingers as the heat of your skin makes the product melt ever so slightly so it's much easier to blend. The coverage is not heavy but it is very buildable so it's easy to get the look you want. Many people have said this is a very heavy product which can tend to look cakey - the only way this product can look cakey is if you use too much. Really, a little can go a long way so be very careful. Overall, a very good product. :)

It made my skin look like crap. Made my oily areas look more oily and my dried out areas drier. Not sure how that's possible but yeah. And it broke me out. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone with combo acne prone skin, or anyone really. It's really unsanitary too so careful when you apply it..I did it as sanitary as possible and it just didn't work.

The packaging isn't the greatest, not really sanitary, but I wanted to try something new. At first, I loved the coverage, but it wore off pretty quick. After a couple of days of using it, I broke out bad from it... and I usually don't break out. I stopped using it and I stopped breaking out. It's too thick, it smells bad, and it breaks you out. I will not be purchasing this product again.

This product is GREAT for those with combination oily skin. It has a dry matte finish. Applies very smoothly to this skin. The only con I have with this foundation is that it has a lot of fall out during application. The texture of this foundation breaks apart very easily into little pieces during application. Apart from this, its AMAZING. I use Dark 3 - Cocoa.
This can be using without a setting powder. I would not advise anyone with DRY skin to use this.
