This is a warm woodsy a tad bit unisex scent, although I would not like it on my dh because I think it's too sweet for a man, I got a hint of Grape in it (I don't know if that's a note in it) I didn't get coffee in it, wish I had...I love the smell of coffee! overall it's not bad, but not FBW for me.

I'm not really even sure what this smells like. I caught a fruity smell....mixed with some woody-spicy smells. Just not for me. I think this would be an awesome scent for someone a little more mature, maybe I'll try it again in 10 years.

This is in the same class as Boudoir and Baiser du Dragon all of which smell like a good perfume should smell. Nothing chemical, generic, or cheap about it. It's rich, warm and pure bliss to have this on your skin.

Here's the amazing thing... my eyes are swollen nearly shut, my nose is stuffed to the point of ridiculosity, my head is on the brink of exploding with sinus pressure, and through it *all* I can still experience the wonder of the glorious fruity, cognac drenched top notes of this, and the glorious cedary heart, which is the most perfect, warm cedar I have experienced to date. This is deep earth and rich wood perfection, with just enough sweetness to keep the wood from overpowering the rest. LOVE IT!!!
Note: the sickness is due in no part to the scent. I just couldn't wait till I was better to sample, Hehehehehe!

I
think I’m in love. Guys don’t need be afraid of this one,
it is very much a unisex fragrance. Fragrances strong of cedarwood
usually work very well on both men and women in my opinion. I can’t
stop sniffing my wrists when I wear this one. Frapin
1270 is the most amazing sweet, fruity and
warm fragrance with a honeyed, sweet brandy-like feel blended with a
base comprised of hot cedarwood and exotic resins. The candied
orange top note is initially very strong and vibrant, replaced by the
dried fruits and raisin notes as it dries down. The hazelnut is very
light, yet adds to it wonderfully. The cocoa and coffee are
extremely light as well but add a just a touch of dark, bittersweet
richness that blends wonderfully into the background. 1270 is simply
divine and its lasts a long while too.

Notes:
Dried Fruits, Honey, Candied Orange, Vanilla, Hazelnut, Raisins,
Cocoa, Coffee, Cedarwood

I'll add my voice to the chorus of praise for this wonderful and elusive fragrance.
While I love how this works on my chemistry, I agree with Dreamstorm who says below this would be incredibly sexy on a man also.
As others have said, the notes in this are honey, mulling spices, a touch of brandy and a hint of woods and vanilla. It goes through an evolution on my skin that is more than the standard top-heart-bottom note drydown. It is gorgeous and sensual and grown-up and approachable. Full bottle worthy and now one of my top five favourite scents.
For my fellow Canadians, this is available online at Beautyhabit.com, an excellent etailer of high-end hard-to-find-in-Canada items.

Oh my! Had I known how beautiful 1270 is, I would have taken the plunge long ago. This is a breathtaking melange of fruity notes (but grown-up fruit; not the cloying BBW-type fruit scents), honey, and an initial touch of warm sandalwood, with maybe just a hint of incense. I don't know how they managed to blend so many notes so perfectly. This is a deep, voluptuous scent, one of the prettiest I've found in a while.

Cognac,honey,fruits,wood,smoke...all of these merge together to make one of the prettiest, most sensual fragrances ever! I am not kidding-when I wear this,I'm singing out loud "I Feel Pretty!" This is similar to Escada Collection and to Ginestet Botyris, but is more complex, and makes them seem like poor cousins. It is not masculine, yet a man could wear it if he were quite brave. I'd be VERY afraid of what I might do if he did, however!I want to kiss myself and roll around in fur when I wear this. Lasing power is good. It's a little heavy, so daytime or sport use might not be appropriate.

Okay, this is my 2nd review for this scent as I revisited it this week and have fallen HEAD OVER HEELS FOR IT. I couldn't stop thinking about it over the past few months and needed to retest. I can't agree with Dreamstorm more in how she mentions it is like POTL in its enchanting powers. I cannot stop sniffing my arm and it only gets better as the day wears on. This would be fantastic for a man also. It is magnificent.

Intoxicating as a glass of the famous Frapin cognac itself. This is a honeyed, mulled brandy scent, resinous and deep, with sweet dates, plums and raisins lurking in the background. The ultimate fall fragrance, reminicent of harvests, crackling bonfires and woody casks of wine being pulled out from hibernation in the cellars. It's slightly boozy, yes, it could be construed as masculine, true, but at the same time, it is amazingly beautiful and utterly indulgent and comforting. I will admit, at first, I did not thought this scent was anything special, but it has grown on me to the point that when I wear this I cannot stop smelling my arms and neck and literally swoon in happiness. It is right up there with POTL in terms of complex composition and enchantingness; like POTL it is one of the few scents that will actually transport me to a different place and mood. A very magical scent. The presentation is impeccable as well -- a beautiful, gold ringed circle bottle, tucked into a plush satiny pouch, and enclosed in a metal tin. Gorgeous.

ETA: This is a beautiful scent on women, true, but if I actually ran across a man wearing this, I might lose control of my senses.

Top Notes: Grape, Dried Fruit, Juniper Berries, Prune

Base Notes: Guaic Wood, Cashmere Wood, White Honey, Vanilla

Heart Notes: Everlasting flower, Lime blossom, Vine flower, Geranium

This is a fragrance I didn't love at all the first time I sampled it. I had it at work, though, and one afternoon I decided to try it again. I should know by now that this is dangerous, because I fell in love. It is very cedar-y at first, but the sweetness comes through pretty quickly, and then I just love it. It is not the most feminine of scents, and definitelyl not something to buy without sniffing, but if this works for you (as it has for me), I think you'll become obsessed with it like I have.

I did not like this scent at first and gave it 2 lippies. I thought it had too much cedar (even though it is not a note listed in its description). However, I re-tested it in cooler weather and it's just right for fall or winter. It's woodsy, without being overly spicy or heavy. I can smell hints of apple or pear, mixed with a wine-like note and florals in the background. This perfume is sweet and pretty, and it works so well on my skin. Definitely too rich or warm of a scent for summer, though.

I'm reminded of Davidoff's "Cool Water" at first spritz....the drydown turns into the scent of sweet wine in oak barrels. It's not unpleasant, but too masculine for my taste. I normally like woodsy/complex fragrances, but I'd pass on this one.

This is a scent that, I am pleased to say, is wearing very well on me, though I wasn't sure at first. It was an unsniffed birthday purchase in steamy August; not the best time to judge a deep woody, fruity scent.

First spritz of this unique stuff and I was in grapey wine lover's heaven with its concentrated richness of dried fruit essence. Then as it wore on, I began to detect the booziness and fermentation mentioned by others, almost like a spilled glass of wine on clothing that's had a few hours to dry. Fortunately I waited a month or so and gave it another try. Instead of imagining a wino sitting next to me on the subway, the woods emerged, tempering the rich, sweet grapiness, making the overall composition more balanced and complex. This is a scent I feel very privileged to own and wear.

Usually I don't classify scents for myself as day or evening appropriate, preferring to wear whatever I'm in the mood for. But Frapin 1270 absolutely calls out for a special autumn dinner in a romantic, candle lit French restaurant. Though not truly foody itself, I imagine it blending seamlessly with the flavors of classic French cooking. Rich buttery sauces and roast chicken with tarragon and garlic complement Frapin 1270 perfectly, as does a crackling wood fire, pruney merlot and roses on the table.

The sweet/dark battle of 1270 gorgeous. The first impression is the cask--you'll pick up wood bigtime. Then comes the feel of the cognac in the cask--sweet, boozy, wine-like. *heavy sigh of delight* It's in the same class as scents like Ginestet Botrytis, which is a honeyed mead type of scent (no wood), and Escada Collection, which is a sticky cherry tobacco-like scent. 1270 is one of the ultimate fall scents, it's impossible to wear it and not wish for a sweater, brown leaves and seeing puffs of your breath in the cold air.

I've been testing Frapin 1270 for a couple of months, trying to make the decision of its fate: will it be bought or not by me? My verdict-unfortunately all the amazing notes do not transalate properly on my skin, starting with an extremely sharp cedar woody scent in, and ending with a very masculine aftershave/cologne smell after it dries down. It is not sweet or autumny to me, just masculine. It's better than SL Chergui, for example, which I found along the same lines and also severly masculine. this is not a scent for the sweet perfume favorers such as myself. I went back and forth on Frapin and finally decided it was not for me, just like POTL, Chergui, and many other board favorites. I am truly disappointed, but now I can spend that moolah on something I really like, like SL Un Lys. Not my thing. I would choose Ginestet Botrytis every time over Frapin.
