Gave me a subtle tan. Streaked once. Love the smell and the shimmer. Only thing that bothers me is that it takes quite a while to dry, and that even though it IS dry, it'd stain my clothes, bag straps, and my sheets. Have to take a shower after using this.

Initially I loved this product, the color is natural, not orangey on my olive skin. The problem is that it takes at least 20 minutes to dry, even if I wipe off any excess lotion with a paper towel after applying (and its still sticky). Plus, I wore an off white t-shirt the next day and upon looking in the mirror I saw the self tanner all over the shirt in some sort of streaking effect. Furthermore, when the tanner fades it fades in blotches. Overall, the color is great but I will not rebuy.
UPDATE: If I take my time and apply patiently then I can get an even tan that wont fade in blotches. Just take your time and it works!

Tube opening and lotion consistency are incompatible. When you flip open the cap there is a glob of lotion which seeped out. It's even hard to handle the tube because the lotion comes out without any pressure on the tube so you must have a cup or receptical to keep it upright while you are using it. On the skin it has a tacky consistency which takes forever to dry. After waiting around for 40 minutes, I had to dress even though my skin has an unpleasantly damp sticky feel. When it finally dried my skin felt somewhat dehydrated. Although the shade is deep, it left me with a color that was more jaundiced than bronze. The only thing I like about this product is the name "Sublime".

HG! This is the best self-tanner I’ve ever used! I was looking for a different self-tanner since my Neutrogena foam tanner and Jergans Natural Glow weren’t cutting it anymore. I love the Sublime Bronze because it has a very natural brown tan, not orangey at all! It’s tinted you can see where you are putting it and I haven’t seen one unsightly streak or blotch! As far as the smell- it’s not bad… you still get that self-tanner scent, but it’s not as potent as the Neutrogena products and the L’Oreal spray tan. I also love the shimmer in it! It makes my skin glow! I have to apply it 2 nights in a row to achieve the color I want, but it lasts for days and takes me about 5 minutes to apply it to my whole body. I love this stuff and I will for sure be buying again and again!

This is a great product! I've been so excited all day because I went from porcelain white to a deep brown tan in a few hours. I have no streaks and the color is very believable. I did exfoliate beforehand and took my time when applying. I find that starting from the bottom and working your way up works best. I use both hands and rub in VERY well in a circular motion. When I'm done, I take a wet washcloth and gently rub it on the underside of my wrists, around my hairline, on my upper lip, and through my eyebrows. This sounds like a hassle, but the whole process only took about 5-10 minutes. (Very much worth it when I would have to go to the tanner for weeks to get this color... not to mention the benefits to my skin from not using the tanning bed.) Anyways, love the results. Would definitely recommend this product!

This is my holy grail for self tanners. I have asian/polynesian light olive skin and I've been using sunless tanners for 15 years! I really like this because the smell isn't strong, the shimmer is nice and subtle for blending in to my coloring, and it smooths on really nicely. Overall though, I prefer the tinted/shimmer more than the eventual color - but at least it goes more brown than orange on me.

L'Oréal are my favorite brand whenever it comes to makeup, hair- and skin products and self tanners. I've tried all their self tanners from the Sublime Bronze line, and I find the tinted version best. It seems as if the lotion versions of self tanners have a hard time doing their job om my face, so thumbs up for this gele formula that absorbs just perfectly. It leaves no streaks, just a hint of golden glow. I don't like the smell however, but overall this product is my favorite whenever I miss summer.

I like this stuff because i can see where it goes. the smell isn't too bad either. I have been using this stuff for months, I wear gloves when i put it on and blend, blend, blend and I haven't had any streaking.

Very good product. i prefer the Sublime Bronze lotion in Medium-Deep because it does not have immeadiate bronzing that wipes off on clothes. also it stains my bikini. But if you are careful you can get GREAT results. I like to use it all over and then put on some ratty sweats and sock to protect my skin from rubbing on other things. Great product but I would never use it on my face.
I used it in deep because I have a naturally olive skin tone and I think it looked sooo natural
I am pretty sure I will by this again to use all through the summer!

I really don't like this product much. It has the typical self-tanner scent that intensifies with time, but my biggest problem with it is the texture. It goes on well to begin with, it almost has the slip of a silicone, but it's so sticky! I waited without putting my clothes on for half an hour - still sticky. No matter how little I put on or anything else I've tried, it just feels gross, and considering I put it on before I go to bed, it makes for a really uncomfortable sleeping experience. The colour isn't terrible - not the worst but not the best - and the first time I apply it I get very noticeable results, but I also have to be careful because it tends to get orangey when I apply it more than once a week. Generally, I just end up buying this when I'm in a pinch and can't get to my HGs. But, after being repeatedly disappointed, I'm going to try to avoid it from now on.

This is THE BEST self tanner on the market. I have tried about every one you could think of and this is the best. On the usual results, you either get not enough tan or too much or blotchy and scaly... not with the L'Oreal Sublime Bronze tinted lotion. I bought mine in Medium Deep because Deep was out. WOW! I had no idea such a little amout of product could pack such a big punch. I had to reaaply last night because I was looking a little pasty, and now I look like I've spent about two days in the sun. It's the most natural color I've ever experienced out of a bottle. It's very brown, not orange at all and I've gotten several compliments! People think I've been to the tanning bed. You have to make sure you exfoliate really well before you apply though, or you will scale in certain areas. Mine being my chest. It's not pretty when that happens, haha. You need to moisturize well (as should you anyway) every day and exfoliate every so often, especially before reapplication. I find two nights of applying this gives me my desired color... I will love this stuff forever!

I tried the Sublime Bronze tinted self-tanning lotion in the medium color as the store where I purchased it was out of the dark. Didn't really matter though because I loved it anyway. I have tried other self-tanners and I have never been happy with any of them until I tried Sublime Bronze. It's fantastic! The tinted is great so you don't miss anywhere and boy, what a natural sun-kissed color! I don't know why many have complained about the fragrance though; it really didn't bother me at all. Compared to others, I think it dries quickly, like really quickly and it feels great on your skin, too. I guess I'll use it up before I try the dark one but I wonder if I should stop while I'm ahead. I can't believe I finally found a self-tanner that I can use both winter and summer and won't have to try any others. Although it is tinted I still like to take my time putting it on and making sure I haven't missed anywhere. You won't be disappointed when you try it. By the way, I didn't try it on my face and I don't think I will so I don't know how my face would react to it. Love it and will buy it forever!

I bought this after researching different products on MUA and I am pleased with it. It does have a natural color and doesn't look too orangey, and it always goes on evenly. I usually put it on 2-3 times a week at night after showering, then I wash it off after a few hours because I don't want to get that funky smell into my sheets. It works great and the color lasts a long time. The few times I slept with it on, I got weird lines on the inside of one of my arms from crossing my arms together as I slept; I guess that concentrates the color. If I was going to sleep with it on, I would wear a long sleeved shirt so that my skin doesn't touch other skin.

Well, this really is a 50/ 50 review because I really like the tanning results that this tinted lotion provides--it doesn't take much to do it, it's very clear to see where you haven't rubbed it in enough, and the color results are the best of any ST I've ever used (and I've been through them all since they came out in 1990.) But--and for me this a big but, because I am sad to give up a product that has such great results--there must be something very irritating in the lotion because after using it for about a month, I realized that not only had it settled into every single pore in my face, I was experiencing a horrible itching and burning sensation on the rest of my body after application. I bought the gelee and as not as satisfied with the evenness (you can't see where it hasn't rubbed in enough) but that one doesn't make me feel as if my skin's on fire. But I haven't found the gelee in deep in my area and the color for deep is much better. Hmm. I wonder if it's the silicones, the bronzer or the sparkly stuff in the lotion/bronzer that might be doing it. P.S. Had to take off for the packaging too because (as others mentioned) the cap leaks).

This is a great self tanner. It provides a very natural tan color and I always get a lot of compliements when I use this product. I use this before bed and yes a little color comes off on the sheets but it does wash out. It does not however come off on my clothing which is great. The scent can be a little heavy for me but the results are worth it. I use this product on my face and body. After application of the tinted lotion, I wash my hands dry them and use the L'oreal Sublime bronze spray on the top of my hands (not the palms). I lightly wipe them down with tissue paper afterwards and let dry. The results are amazing and much better than the gelee or any other product that I have tried to date. The color is excellent upon one application, and use this product year round. Thankyou L'oreal!!!!! I loved the color Coppertone endless summer gave me but hated the fact that it ruined and stained my clothing. L'oreal is the next best thing if not even better.

I accidentally bought this in deep and was prepared to be horrified by the results. Surprisingly it looked good on my pale skin. It didn't go on orange. When I didn't apply it well, it streaked, but when I rub it in all the way, it looks good. I would buy this again, maybe in a lighter shade though. Lord have mercy does it smell though.

i HAD TO START USING SELF TANNERS SINCE MY SKIN IS NATURALLY PALE.... I WAS THE LUCKY SISTER TO GET THE PALE SKIN WHILE MY ONE SISTER LOOKS LIKE SHE JUST CAME BACK FROM VACATIONING IN CANCUN ALL THE TIME. I STARTED USING THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE A FRIEND WAS TELLING ME ABOUT IT. OVERALL IT'S PRETTY GOOD IT DOES LOOK NATURAL I THINK THE MEDIUM SHADE LOOKS WAY TOO YELLOW WHEN IT DRIES BUT THE DEEP LOOKS THE MOST NATURAL. NO ONE KNOWS I USE SELF TANNER. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THE SMELL OF THIS STUFF AND IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO DRY AND IT TENDS TO STAY ON YOUR HANDS. IT DOES HOWEVER LAST A GOOD 5 DAYS BEFORE YOU HAVE TO REAPPLY IT AGAIN. IF YOU ARE PRONE TO BREAKOUTS I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT IT CAN MAKE YOU BREAKOUT BUT IT LEAVES YOUR SKIN REALLY SOFT AND SHIMMERY. I'M SURE THERE ARE BETTER SELF TANNERS OUT THERE BUT FOR THE PRICE : AROUND 8.99 AND MOST DRUG STORES IT'S RATHER AFFORDABLE.

This is actually for the MEDIUM-DEEP.
I am pleasantly surprised at the performance! It must be applied carefully, (moisterize dry spots first), but the overall effect on my pale, pale skin is a deep bronzey orange tone that is so shiny & so even that it MUST be admired! The smell's light & the color develops much faster than the Banana Boat I used.
Uh OH...EDIT: 08/11/05
Third total body application and I was outside in the sunlight all weekend where I could REALLY see the results. YELLOW tones were VERY strong. When my son saw me after being away for 2 days he said, "I don't want a yellow mommy." Also wears off in random PATCHES in places where nothing rubbed against my skin!!?
