I am iffy about this product. I use it for acne spot treatments whenever I see them forming or any redness. It stings on contact and gets rid of the pimple--but not after 10 hours (so it claims.) It usually takes about 3 days of application for the swelling and redness to go away. Plus it's $10 for such a small tube, not worth it.

this product worked sometimes on me, but not exactly after 8 hours, i would see the results in two days, or sometimes I wouldnt even see them, but anyway. this product is ok.I am currently using the clean and clear acne spot treatment and i like this one better.

This product is so-so. I've almost completely used up the bottle I have and this is what I have to say:
I seem to remember it having work a bit in the beginning. Now however, not so much. I have to put a big dollop of stuff on just to see even one of my minor acne bumps just decrease in size rather than disappear. So in some aspect it does work in decreasing and preventing your acne from getting bigger, but it certainly doesn't make them go away. I plan on trying the persa gel 10 when I get done with this.

I wish i could give this 3.5 lippies, because it is better than 3, but not as good as 4! This sometimes works for me, sometimes doesn't. I think it depends on the severity of the pimple that I am using it on. Sometimes I feel like it is entirely up to the blemish to decide how long it wants to hang around, and no product can alter that! But that being said, this can be effective. I prefer it to any other spot treatment, and it is not as drying as some others. I do find that Tea Tree Oil treatment gel works better for me though, but for the price of this, it is worth experimenting with

acne review products are so subjective bc we all have different skin and theres been many acne products ive read raves about but werent so impressive when i tried. this isnt one of those. let me start by saying ive always had problem skin. ALWAYS. not proactiv commercial bad, but at any given time, i always have 4-5 breakouts on my face. mostly on my forehead, around the temples, face. what was frustrating to me was that 1. i was allergic to benzoyl peroxide 2. my pimples never usually came to a head. they were under the skin, red and painful when i touched them and didn't even pop when i squeezed them. this product isn't a miracle worker, you have to be realistic with your acne products. but i use this every night and if i can't, then i use the rapid clear 2 in 1 fading gel which also has salicylic acid in it. this is probably my 15th tube of this stuff. as far as drugstore salicylic acne treatments go, this is one of the strongest! and ive tried everything. ive tried the stridex, clearasil, clean and clear etc etc. this packs the strongest punch comparatively. however, i wouldnt recommend wearing during the day bc it makes ur face shiny and the 0.5 oz tube is very small for $8. if im not having a bad month, it'll last me about a month or two. at my worst, i would up a tube in 2 weeks. overall im impressed with the rapid clear line, have tried pretty much everything in it and this is the best. the wipes were ok, didn't see much difference, and cleansers and scrubs never worked for me. but if you cant use benzoyl peroxide and had to go with drugstore brand salicylic acid product. this is at least a try

I bought this to treat some huge under-skin hormonal pimples that returned after going off BC, and so far so good. It made the bumps decrease in size over night, and i believe they are going away. I used it on the new bumps and it prevented the development of the bumps.
I imagine they improved the formula over over the last 10-15 years since i last used it, and now it sinks in more, which is nice. The old formula made made it seem like a piece if rubber stuck to your face.
It stings a lot at first when you put this on the pimple, but that might just be my really sensitive skin reaction to salycilic acid.
I hope i donīt have to buy this again, as i obviously need to go back to BC to really solve my acne problem.

This is the second time I have bought this gel. The first time my face was suffering from really bad hormonal acne and this gel helped clear it up. At that moment I wasn't in love with it but it got the job done. This time I only had two cystic pimples on my cheeks that were not going away with my usual triple antibiotic ointment I use now when I get a pimple somewhere, so I decided to get this again. I started using it three times a day since Sunday. It is now Wednesday and one of the pimples is down to 1/4 of its original size and the other one is virtually gone. You can't tell that I have a pimple on each cheek anymore. This stuff works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You only need a little bit so you get a lot of use of the little bottle so the price is super if you compare it to other acne treatments. I already found what works for my occasional acne now and I am not steering away from it.

I had high hopes for this product. I mean, of course we would all like to reduce the size and appearance of our zits, but this did not work. It basically did nothing for my sit and I also think this is false advertising. It basically took over a week for my acne to disappear no matter how many times I apply this to my face. I would not purchase this again.

Uh... This is the first Acne gel I've tried. Haven't finished it so I'm not sure to buy more. Doesn't do much. My aunt introduced me to it, saying it's really good. I had a few break-outs. Works best if you put a little blob directly on top. Don't spread it. Ever. Or it doesn't work as well. It sort of stops the pimple (I had a HUGE one) in mid-tracks then if you keep on using it for a week it slowly goes down. DOES NOT WORK IN 8 HOURS! Huge fib, the time period was closer to 8 DAYS, applying every morning and night.
Seeing that it took so long, I'm not sure if it's because of the cream or because the pimple just decided to leave. Well, it's better than nothing. I'm totally depending on using a cleanser to stop acne though as this doesn't do much. But I bought this hearing the other creams suck, anybody know a better cream? I'm a bit discouraged about creams right now though.

Later Edit: No, I take it back. Seems like I have to apply a generous layer on (as thick as I can make it without it being visible) for it to work on me (don't try this if you have sensitive skin). I experimented, putting on a lot one night because I just wanted to finish the product then I waited for it to dry (so I don't accidently rub it off in my sleep) while reading then the next morning I found that all my pimples have diminished so much that there are no bumps though I can still see the colouring of it (though not that apparent) on my skin but the pimples themselves were gone! And they didn't come back the day after because I didn't put on the gel. :] guess I should change my stats for this then... I'm so glad that it turns out to work. Still, with such a small bottle, I'm afraid it won't last long... Oh well, it's been a week and no new blemishes have popped up. Will buy again, thanks aunt for introducing me to this! Smells weird though... but it's worth it :]

I can't live without this product. Ever since I quit taking birth control, I've had terrible hormonal breakouts on my forehead and chin -- at first the pimples looked like a rash, and then they gradually became larger in size. I was devastated, so on a whim, I purchased this and have never looked back.

This is the only acne medication that diminishes my breakouts overnight. If I don't apply it, the acne will come back as normal. If I do, my skin looks clear and healthy! I swear by it. It's a small tube, but a little goes a long way. It really works for me.

Bleh. Dried my pimples no matter how little I used or how long I stuck with the one-application-per-day thing. And, when a pimple is dried out, makeup gets stuck in every little outline of it...
And that's like sticking a little sign on your face saying HEY LOOK DOWN HERE I'M WEARING MAKEUP TO COVER UP THIS HORRIBLE DISFIGUREMENT!

I was pretty saddned when i bought this last night as a potential helper for my recent breakout (caused by what, i dont know!) so i have about 2 raised pimples and a few that havent emerged. I put this on last night over the affected areas...
This morning i woke up, 7 hours later and the emerging pimples have pretty much frozen and not come to head, and one thats already raised has diminished massively in redness, looks a little drier and smaller. After i did my morning routine i applied some more and my make-up covers beautifully over it and daresay its making my skin stay matte.
I have mostly clear skin yet i get a few pimples around 'that time', but for me this has worked. If you are having problems with cystic, severe acne this is NOT for you! This gel is for those with relatively clear skin to treat spots that have not yet emerged and diminish those that have. And if you are used to using harsh products for your skin, the chances of this working out for you probably isn't as good as what a dermatologist can prescribe.
I will re-visit this review in 1-2 weeks time ;)
Good luck girls!!

EDIT: I still stand by my original review. This helps clear what i have, yet it's not a miracle product. This, for me, should be used in conjunction with my other routine. This has helped 'rise' a few of my pimples, and they go away faster. I have been using this in summer (Australian sumemer...) and it has helped my really sweaty skin from not breaking out as much as i know it would!!
Give it a try :)

It def. doesn't do what it says it does. Yea it KINDA reduces pimple size, but so does a bottle of peroxide and a cotton ball.....and as far as reducing redness....YEA RIGHT....if anything, it makes it more red. But I gave it a 3 because it does reduce the size, but not in 8 hours like it says it will....more like 8 days...will never buy this again

This treatment only works on minor pimples that aren't particularly raised, other than that it does nothing! I had it for less than 1/2 a year and it gives off this plastic smell now.

I use this strictly as a spot treatment. I find that if you spread it around the breakout area a bit it doesn't work as well. Just dab a TINY amount on the breakout itself. I do it before bed so if I can't get it to rub in well its no big deal. Like I said, I like to keep it directly on the breakout; for me that is key. If you put this on pimples as they emerge they will heal quickly. It doesn't work as well on pimples that have already emerged though. Also very gentle, as I am trying to get away from harsh acne treatments. This one is just perfect for me.

i have only used this on my back and shoulders, never my face. that said i think this is an incredible product! every now and again i will get a breakout in the above mentioned areas when i work out a lot. try to be diligent but somehow such breakouts and gyms seem unavoidable;( if i see a breakout i use this and its gone in days. its so awesome!

edited to add: have since used on breakouts on my face. i only get them once in a blue moon during that time of the month. this brings a blemish down fast, and no peeling, flaky, dry irritated area around it like with other drug store blemish treatments.

I've been using this for about 2 weeks. I would say it does help with pimples that are beginning to form. It stops them and keep them from coming up. I also noticed that compared to the clean and clear BP on the stop treatment, this one actually helps with acne marks. It helps fade the dying pimple into a more subtle red mark. Overall, I would buy this product again as long as my skin continues to react well with it!
