Can't live without this! It's the only product I trust to get every last trace of makeup off. It's not too viscous or watery, has a good slip, washes off cleanly, and has a pleasant orange scent. I usually use one and a half pumps nightly and it lasts me a good 2 or 3 months. PLUS I love how you can now buy the refills in plastic pouches rather than buying a new bottle. Hooray for thoughtful packaging and less waste! I haven't tried any of the other similarly priced cleansing oils you can find in Japanese markets, like Naive or Shiseido, but this one works great for me so I'll stick with it. Oh yes, and I always use another proper facial cleanser after this.

I was looking for a cleaner that would not only remove my makeup, dirt and grime without tugging at my skin but also that would leave my face and skin smooth and soft and oh how I have found it in this cleansing oil. It's absolutely wonderful. I love it. I hope to never be without it.

It smells lightly of oranges and it does it's job very well. I've definitely found my new favorite facial cleanser. I use it even when I am not wearing makeup. It's inexpensive and works.

love this cleanser. when i get lazy, i just use this and my face feels so clean and its not even oily at all after rinsing my face with water. i'm not afraid of removing makeup from my waterline with this oil either cause it's so gentle and it completely takes off everything. as it promises, it also gives a little whitening effect to the skin after cleansing. it's short lived however, but i absolutely love love love this! i will repurchase. oh by the way, i bought this for around 12CDN dirt cheap for the quality!

This product is pure LOVE!!

I had tried Shu, DHC, Fancl, before I chanced upon this cleansing oil. It is as light as Fancl's, but cleanses as well as DHC's, plus it does not burn a hole in my pocket like Shu's. Plus I love the light citrus scent, really refreshing, and my skin got cleansed really well with it!!

I really cant find any reason not to buy it again when my current bottle runs out!

This is the first cleansing oil I've tried, and I'm on the fence with this one. I purchased this at Ichiban-Kan in San Francisco's Japantown for $9, which seemed reasonable. They also carry it at the Nijiya market in J-town. Here's what I like--it COMPLETELY eradicates my Bobbi Brown gel liner. I like that I can just use it alone on dry skin days, or follow it up with a cleanser on oilier days. However, I'm not so happy about the scent. It's a nasty chemical orange scent that reminds me of Orange Glo furniture polish. Also, I wanted to leave it on my face for a while as a kind of treatment, but it had almost dried (and I mean dried as opposed to absorbed) in about 20-25 minutes. Pretty strange for an oil. I think after I run out of this I'll try the oil cleansing method's recipe and whip up a concoction of my own for comparison. I think I would repurchase just for its fabulous eye makeup removal powers.

i've been using mac cleansing oil until i found this. i mean i still love mac's cleansing oil but this product is cheaper and the result is the same. i have oily combo skin and when i use this oil cleanser and massage it all over my face i can see my makeup coming out on my hands and fingers. but i always use a foam cleanser afterward though. it's not because it doesnt clean well or anything, i'm just use to using a foam cleanser after oil cleanser. Anyways, overall i love this oil cleanser and it didnt break me out at all.

I got this in a swap and I've used cleansing oils in the past. If you think that all cleansing oils are alike, you are wrong wrong wrong. I've had such different experiences with certain cleansing oils and I would definately recommend ones over others.

This one I had high hopes for because its inexpensive and a good value. However, the smell is not good. I don't know if the product went through a formula change after it changed names, but the one I have smells really plastic-metallicy, is the best way to describe it. Its not a great scent. I don't really care for the texture. It does not seem as refined of an oil as say the Shu or the Nude one. It did do a very good job removing all my drag queen-y eye makeup I had on one night. I can't speak to its effacacy as a stand alone product because I only utilize cleansing oils as pre-cleansers.

I'm a huge fan of cleansing oils and I've tried several but I didn't like this one. It was quite oily for me (I have oily skin) and also it felt like the oil didn't wash off unlike other oil cleansers I've tried (also other oil cleanser I've tried didn't feel oily for me). But for the price this is quite good but I wouldn't purchase it again.

I didn't find anything spectacular about this cleansing oil.
I do like that it rinses clean, but it doesn't make my skin look any better than anything else. I've been using it nightly for about a month now, and my skin looks and feels about the same. Actually, I'm getting some small bumpies on my forehead and chin, and I seem to have slightly more blackheads. And nothing ever breaks me out - ever. I've never had these little tiny bumps before, and I really haven't been using anything new on my face, other than this oil.

I really think it's nothing more than a basic cleanser. i expected an oil to leave my skin softer and moister, but that is not the case.

I do like the pump, and the japanese packaging is kind of unique and cute, but it's nothing I'd display on my vanity.

I won't be buying this again.

This is GOOD stuff! I've used many types of cleansers (mostly foaming or creamy kind) to remove makeup and this cleansing oil is the best i've ever used. I wear waterproof sunblock, mineral foundation, and sometimes BB cream. Just one full pump is all you need to remove my makeup. Here's a TIP: Make sure you apply the oil to your face when your face and hands are dry. Just massge it to your face for about 20 secs, then rinse with water. It gets EVERYTHING off with ease, and i can tell it takes everything off because my cotton pad looks clean when i wipe my face with toner afterward. Before this, i used to get makeup residues, but not with this cleansing oil. And I normally use a separate eye makeup remover to remove my e/s and mascara, BUT with this cleansing oil, i don't even need a separate makeup remover for my eyes anymore. I have yet to try it with waterproof mascara. As far as the skin condition goes, my skin is pretty clear now but i had acne before and prone to pore-clogging. This cleansing oil doesn't cause any trouble to my skin :) I love it. I have never used Shu or DHC oil, so i can't compare it with them. I got this product from SF Japantown for $8.99 at Ichibankan (dollar store inside the mall). You can also get it on ebay for $16 shipped.

There's a light orange scent but you can hardly smell anything =) It's an ok cleanser however i still prefer chanel's cleansing oil. My skin just fees so soft and clean after and the texture is a tad more viscous than the kose. Overall it did it's job and for the price, i'd definitely repurchase.

Wow!! I have been on the hunt for a good cleansing oil since have dry skin and after trying Origins, I saw that they can be great for us drier skinned gals. Only problem was that Origins made me SO ITCHY. Some of Shu's ingredients I recognized as irritating in some formulas but too expensive to play with ones without. Shiseido's actually didn't leave me with much moisture at all. Won't touch Boscia's because of the mint (SURE to dry my skin out). Lancome's was the best of all I had tried yet; extremely inoffensive ingredients and did the job, yet still not as much moisture as I wanted (seeing as it was mostly emulsifiers and thickening agents as opposed to actual oils I can see why it was not as moisturizing as I wanted). Also, Lancome's is not as easy to wash off I've noticed. Haven't tried MAC's and do not need to now. :)

I read reviews of this product and was eager to try it. Picked it up this weekend and am I glad I did. Finally, a product that is a TRUE HG for me!! This product really does the job of deep cleansing. It feels wonderful and slippery; not thick or waxy at all!! Does an exceptional job of removing ALL traced of makeup and leaves the skin feeling CLEAN and moisturized! With water it turns milky, creamy white and rinses away so easily. I do not feel the need to follow with a gentle cleanser. It makes me skin feel so refreshed and wonderful. I highly recommend this if you have dry to very dry skin or want a perfect makeup remover. This also contains rice bran oil as its primary ingredients, by the way. A wonderful moisturizer. I will be buying this product over and over again! Oh, and the value for your money is incredible. I've noticed 5 oz. is about averge for an oil costing $21-$35. This is 7.78 oz. and can be as cheap as $7 on sale!
*Cost: $9.99 @ Mitsuwa Marketplace 7.78 oz.

INGREDIENTS: rice bran oil, mineral oil, sorbeth-30 tetraoleate, triethyl hexanoine, cyclomethicone, orange oil, tocopherol, jojoba seed oil, glycerin, polyglyceryl-2, disostearate, trilaureth-4, phosphate, water, phenoxyethanol.

I am using Kose Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil for just a few days now and I am sold! The oil is slightly thicker and less emolient, but it cleanses well and one pump is all you need for the entire face... After washing my face feels damn smooth, as though I exfolidated... also no need for the 2nd cleanser... one wash is enough.

Love it! I'm so glad I have bought (or got my mum to buy) backups of this for me in Japan!!! :)

Edited: After finishing 1 bottle, I went to something else and then came back to this again! The difference is great! This is totally HG material! Leaves my face so soft and smooth...

I used to use DHC deep cleansing oil, but this is just as effective and much cheaper. It's only $3-4 in Hong Kong, but I can find it here in the US at japanese grocery stores for $9.99. Despite the price markup, it's still more affordable than DHC.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this cleansing oil. The only one that never dry my skin.. clog my pores or irritate my skin. I try more than 20 cleansing oils and nothing comes even close to it. I have very sensitive skin which can also be very dry from the Retin-A…extremely clog/prone so most cleansers or dry me or clog me. This one never ..also clean extremely well all from my face. This cleansing oil is the best one I come a cross by now. I wish was easy to buy it in Europe.

This is my must have for getting off sunscreen, foundation, and a whole days with of sweat and grime. It keeps my skin 99% clog free, which is no small task yet contains absolutely no irritating ingredients. Due to its incredibly travel-unfriendly packaging, I tried going without this stuff while on an impromptu vacation and my skin quickly reverted back to it previous state of whitehead ridden grossness. Undeniable proof that this stuff is imperative in keeping me looking remotely human. This illusive japanese gem can be found at webichi.com for less than ten bucks.

After I ran out of my DHC deep cleansing oil, I was looking for an alternative. I was happy with DHC but it inconvenient to purchase. This is available locally and costs $9 a bottle. Before buying this, I compared the ingredients to a few other cleansing oils I found on the shelf including Shiseido and Kanebo. In all the other oils, the first ingredient was mineral oil. This one also contains mineral oil, but the first ingredient is rice bran oil so I picked it over the others. I've used 3/4 of a bottle of this and I am happy with the results. It cleans off my sun screen and so far, I haven't noticed it causes me to break out. I find that this is a bit less emollient feeling than the DHC. Its runnier but it also feels like it is easier to rinse off. I use this by massaging it into my skin for about 20 seconds then rinse off and follow with a regular cleanser.

Hmm, I don't see anything special with this product. Even though it takes off my eye make-up (after massaging it in first), I still have to follow-up with another cleanser. It's effective but not totally necessary for me.

This doesn't remove all my mascara, but maybe I'm not rubbing it in enough? I like the smell and texture. My face doesn't feel as clean afterwards though, so I follow up with St. Ives Apricot Scrub. And my chin is breaking out. Am I doing this all wrong?

I break out at the drop of a hat, and I never, ever thought I would try an oil cleanser. But.. the other reviews intrigued me. I have been using for about 1 week, and I LIKE IT! My skin feels clean and not greasy at all, and I think it's pulling some gunk out of the pores on the sides of my face. Impressed!
