Lately, my skin has become extremely acne prone, but only on my forehead. I was introduced to this product, along with the toner, and the tri-activ anti-imperfection hydrating care by one of the cosmetic workers at Shoppers Drugmart. While the hydrating care did moisturize my skin a little bit better, the cleansing gel did absolutely nothing for me. In fact, I'm positive it made my forehead worse! Now it's like a war zone! Pimples are just poping up over night. I am very disappointed with this product. For the price that I paid for all three products ( $30.00 for the gel cleanser and hydrating care and another $20.00 for the toner), was defintely not worth it. This product is way too expensive, and a complete failure!

Eh. I don't understand what's wrong with this product, but it broke me out super badly, didn't soothe my sensitive skin, and worse, CLOGGED MY PORES. My forehead has never fully healed after using this product, I ended up with milia seeds (omg) which required exfoliating =( Don't use this!

This is a very nice cleanser .

It lasted more than a year ( the 200 ml bottle) even when I used it twice a day, every day.

It lefts my skin feeling smooth and very clean.

I have mixed skin type, the zone around my nose is VERY dry and this dried up even more, so I had to use a moisturizer after this.

it has some strong cologne-like smell that I didn't like at all tho. but overall this worked very well ! In my opinion I couldn't find any cleanser better than this one. I tried Clinique and didn't like it how harsh it was for my skin.

I tried this about a year ago, when I started with it I had maybe 10 pimples on my face, it just caused more and more pimples. I gave it about four weeks before I finally gave up on it as my face was tight and dry and had at least 100 pimples at a time!!
I actually took photos as a "before" when I switched from this to Clinique... looking back at them I can't believe my face was so terrible. This product absolutely did NOT work for me!

I ran out of my face cleanser in Rome while on holidays, and this was the only one I could find late one night. I hated it for the first 4 days, my face felt and looked oily, and I was convinced I'd wasted my money. But I persevered a couple more days (too cheap to fork out for 2 new cleansers in a week!), and my skin started to look so much better. My skin was looking quite good already, but it looked more radiant and I found that it took longer for my T-zone to get oily. It's been over a month now, and I'm still really happy with it. Sometimes it leave my face a bit dry in the morning, however my moisturiser deals with that. I still get the occasional spot too. But overall I like it, and will definitely look out for it here at home when I run out.

I would rate this was as averagely good. It does the job: cleans the face. I remove makeup with a remover first before using this was so I can't comment on those properties. I didn't find this was anything special considering the price. I think there are cheaper alternatives...

I absolutely love gel cleansers. For $20 CAD at Shoppers, this product lasts me approx 10.5 months using it twice a day. The packaging is clean & simple, the great thing about the bottle is the spout that rotates allowing it to open and close -- perfect for travelling. Ive been using this product for 2 years (with daily toner use and ex-foliating once a week) -- it has done wonders for my oily skin! It removes all my makeup, leaves my skin soft and clean with rarely over-drying, and on the days I do feel this, I put some moisturiser on and I am good to go. The salicylic acid prevents breaks outs, a definite plus (but this is not a super-duper acne fighter if that is what you are looking for). I will always repurchase :)

This is my new go-to cleanser. While I still have the occasional break-out, they're a lot smaller and less frequent. This is great for maintaining my skin's overall condition. My only complaint is that it can be drying, but my moisturizer solves that no problem.

I don't know about this cleanser. It is not terrible but not that great either. It takes time for a cleanser to work, especially on acne. Skin goes through a 28 day period where it becomes new again, which is how long it could take to treat acne. It's an okay cleanser but it didn't blow me away, I didn't see great results even after 4 weeks.

I would not recommend Vichy products. I have dry acne prone skin and this made my skin worse. It dried me out and my acne flared because it had been stripped. Yet somehow it left an oily residue, I felt like I never got it fully off. Will not buy again.

This is a good cleanser for oily and acne prone skin. It can be drying a little but if you use good hydrating products afterwards it can help keep pimples at bay. I would recommend this to anyone who has occassional brakeouts.

Disclaimer: I beleive this is marketed as Vichy Normaderm Puryfying Cleansing Gel/Gel Nettoyant Purifant in Europe. That is the product I'm reviewing.

I like this product. I don't love it, but it's ok. Ingredients are very decent for a purifying cleanser, no very harsh chemicals in it, except of course perfume. I use cleansing milk daily and then I like to use a deep cleansing product in the shower a few times a week. I use it daily when my hormones make my skin go crazy.

Pros: Cleanses ok, contains Salicyl Acid and is soap-free, so not drying (on my skin at least). Has cleared up my skin.

Cons: I don't feel deep-cleansed (it may be working anyway, I just don't get that clean-clean feel) and it has perfume. How can you call something hypoallergenic and put perfume in it? SLS is second on ingredient list, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to that.

An allright cleanser for combination skin. But I will probably not repurchase.

I absolutely love love LOVE the Vichy Normaderm line. This cleanser is no exception. I`ve been looking for years for a gentle product with only a bit of salicilic acid to combat blemishes and this one does the trick. It doesn`t dry my skin and has kept blemishes at bay- this product does what it`s told! Combined with my night and day moisturizers, also by Vichy, it`s been amazing! My skin has cleared up tremendously and feels amazingly smooth and clean.

I have just finished using this product. It has a very pleasant fragrance and does a good job of cleansing. However I don't feel it has helped my skin at all, or not sure if it is supposed to reduce appearance of your acne or not, as it hasn't helped mine. If this was on offer then I will buy it again, but not if it's on full price.

Iīve been using this for so long. Started using Vichy gel 7...no wait.. 8 years ago, but it wasnīt normaderm back then... it was a blue gel in a white package, smelled great and worked great and then when Normaderm came out, I switched to Normaderm and Iīm still using this gel. The reason my mother started to buy me Vichy back then was because a lot of drugstore stuff caused breakouts, irritations or dried out my skin horribly. I donīt know about other countries but here in Switzerland you can only buy Vichy products in the pharmacy.
Used to use the gel twice a day for years but then my skin got to used to all the Vichy stuff and the effects were not the same, so I changed my skincare products for a while but now Iīm using this again from time to time and it works great again. It gives me clean skin (though its not sqeuky clean like it gets from some japanese washing gels I use) without drying it out and yes, it helped me get rid of acne very fast. Didnīt have any irritations during all these years, the only weak point is that I got some pimples and my skin got more oily after my skin got used to this. But anyway... Vichy (Normaderm) is and will always be one of my favourite brands, as I never had any skinproblems with it (talking about waking up with bumps all over the face and itching and burning sensations) and this gel sure is one of the best I ever used.... Why else yould I stick up with it for such a long period? =)

I don't know how they can market this cleanser for acne prone skin. All of Vichy's Normaderm products have a very strong fragrance which is the last ingredient you need in an acne product. Also it does not have any standard acne fighting ingredients (ie. benzoyle peroxide, salicylic acid etc).

I tried it for a week and it made my acne worse. It is quite thick so it doesn't feel like you are cleaning your face, but just rubbing a think gel into your skin which doesn't rinse off easily. There are so much better products out there. You are better off getting a clean & clear cleanser which will cost you a third of the price of this crap. Don't buy it!

I gave this product a three rating because at first, it cleared up ALL my acne and it was AMAZING. I was blown away by the results. I had horrible acne, and within a month of using this stuff, all my acne was gone. I used it twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night. After all my acne was gone, I stopped using it. Some of my acne came back and I switched to another cleanser. I had about 1/5 of the cleanser left. So one day, I just decided to try using it again. After I used it to wash my face, my face was SO red! My skin was so irritated! I was burning hot and so red! Since there was just a little bit of product left in the bottle, I figured I would just use it up. But, everytime I used it, I would have the same reaction. Burning, red skin. I think what might've happened is that maybe my skin became more sensitive? I'm not sure what happened, but all I know is that It started out great, then it gave me weird reactions. Also, another thing about this cleanser is that It's a little hard to wash off compared to some other cleansers. It takes a little longer. Overall, I would not repurchase this product, but it was pretty good when I first bought it.

I bought this and used it for a bit but i love changing face products so i kinda forgot about this and threw it under the sink. About 2 weeks ago i saw it down there and thought why not I'll try it out. After i started using it my skin got soooooo much better!
My skin used to be very red, oily and i had blackheads and blemishes, usually breaking out every 2 weeks. My skin is not as oily and i have no blemishes at all!! :) It even helped a little with the scaring I had. However it did not clear my blackheads. I used the cream for a little while too, it's sticky at first but after it dries it makes your skin really soft :)
