I purchased this product with the acne-kit in this line. I SO wanted to like this cleanser, as I have sensitive, acne-prone skin. Unfortunately it ended up being a nightmare product for me. I look like a teen w/ hormone issues. My face broke out horribly. If you have acne-prone skin, I would not recommend trying this product. I certainly will not repurchase. The quest for my HG cleanser continues...... Where or where is the perfect cleanser for my combo skin??

I've got oily/combo skin and have been searching for the perfect product for years - I've finally found it with this dermalogica anti-bac facewash. it's cleared up all the blemishes on my face and even though it's a bit pricey i'm more than happy to pay more to have great blemish free skin. Highly recommend.

Hi there.
I must say when I tried the samples that were given to me of this product I thought it was fantastic. It cleared up my spots and took away any redness on my face. However, after buying this product full size I am very disappointed. I now have loads of little bumbs come up over my face. This may be partly due to the fact that I have sensitive skin, but i have never had such a bad reaction to a product before. So if you have sensitive skin please be careful when using this!!!

I have been using this cleanser for my body about 4 years now. It cleans and clears any body acne that I get. To be honest, I have not received any body blemishes ever since I used this cleanser. I am very picky about cleansers because my skin is soo picky.

I'm liking this face wash. I probably shouldn't have washed twice because my skin feels a little taunt. Or is this how healthy skin feels? Maybe I'm not used to my skin being balanced. It is usually either oily or dry from different face washes. Right now it's in between. It's not oily and it's not dry with no enlarged pores or flakes. Just smooth and taunt like a child's skin. After washing I used the Multi Active toner, a drop of Medicated Clearing gel only on my trouble spots (nose, inner cheeks, and chin), and finally applied Active Moist all over. Got a GREAT price and service at whatgreatskin.com!

In a matter of weeks this cleanser has cleared up my entire face. I have never had acne but when I turned 29 my face went crazy...with cystic acne and the plain old variety. I have tried many things and everything seemed to work for a week and then stop or make my skin worse. I had a few spots developing...very deep and painful and after 2 days this stuff brought them to a head (which usually takes forever) and cleared them up. The only drawback is the drying. It does make your skin dry so I would recommend using it 1x a day. It removes makeup nicely so its really a one step cleanser for me. I also love the container it comes in...perfect for traveling. I think its a bit expensive but I'll have it for ever...the bottle is huge and you only need a very little bit. Foams like the special cleansing gel and leaves a cool feeling after. I've had no irratation and I have used it right after a microderm when normally even cetephil will sting. I think this is worth the price if you are looking to treat and prevent acne...if you have clear skin I would not suggest it becaue it is pretty drying. EDIT: I added a lippie bc I have found a new use for this cleanser...after a pretty "aggressive" facial I got home and had 5 large red bumps on my face from where the esth thought she could extract really deep milia. Normally when I try to do this I'm in for a huge red cyst that would last for weeks and eventually scar...I was so upset when I got home and looked in the mirror so I put some of this cleanser on the bumps and went to bed. I woke up to tiny red bumps but no swelling etc. I'm sold on this stuff!!

I am in my 20s and never had skin breakouts when I was a teenager.
It was only when these spots and blemishes gradually started to appear
and that was the point when I sought help from my esthetitian.
She gaved me some samples from Dermatologica and after using those,
I bought Anti Bac and special clensing gel for clensing.
My skin is dry/combination skin (It never gets oily even in summer).
and this clear gel improved my skin tones and cleared breakouts.
(I have started to use other products at the same time so I am not
sure whether it is sorely because of this or not but it certainly
helped me to get the right clean face ready for other creams
after wash). As to drying effects, I use a small amount and try to make
plenty of lather beforehand. Then, I gently massage it over problem areas
for longer. I also use oil control cream from time to time
when I really have the full blown spots.

I have combo skin (dry on cheeks, but oily-ish t-zone area), and tend to get comodones (aka, little bumps) on my skin in the t-zone, but rarely an actual pimple. My facialist recommended this for me, and while I was a bit wary of the medication in it due to sensitive skin, this cleanser helped clear up my clogged pores and my skin never felt dry/tight.
I would recommend using this with the Active Moist oil-free moisturizer for everyday.
The large size pump bottle is also the perfect container for no-mess, hygenic use.

well, i think this is the first "acne" cleanser that i bought, and i read rave reviews about it...but to my dissapointment, it doesnt work and the fact taht u have to use this cleanser twice is just too demanding.
im still in search of a routine for my spotty skin, but all i can say is that this isnt in it.
maybe if u had an occasional pimple, then this cleanser would b ok for u but def not if u have acneic skin

I had a Dermalogica facial and bought the small acne kit which had this in it and was recommended to me. I used up the small bottle which seemed to be okay so I bought the larger size. Intially it was effective, my skin felt clean and it did help control my spots, but this made my skin feel dry and I have combination skin. The SA said that my skin was just adjusting to it so I continued using it but after a month or so my skin continued to feel dry and my acne was not getting any better despite the slight improvement after a week of use. I did not repurchase, and when I told my Ren SA (who had experience with Dermalogica herself) about this she gave me a mini facial and found that my skin was not oily and some of my skin troubles were caused by these products. She gave me some Ren samples which I loved. Since using more natural products, this has helped my acne more considerably then any of the Dermalogica products.

i have VERY OILY and acne-prone skin...it works very well. I bought the travel kit and it seems to be working very well...BUT
PlEASE be careful, the main ingredient is triclosan, which is used in a lot of antibacterial/antiseptic cleanser. Triclosan is toxic and is considered a carcinogen....i guess using this cleanser will be a gamble, just like smoking cigarettes. to be honest, i don't plan to use this product forever, but it seems to be getting down and battling my acne for now....

This is just OK. Another really nice product from Dermalgoica, but I found it way too drying for my combination skin. I much prefer the Special Cleansing Gel to this, although it really reduces the inflamed puffy look of blemishes and pimples.

I like this product. It is helping to make my skin look more clearer. You have to be patient with it. The more you use it the less acne you get and the clearer your skin becomes. There is no cure for acne anyway but this does help it. It has NEVER caused drying. It is so gentle that I can even use it on my eye area! Best medicated cleanser ive used, period.

I quite like this stuff, I've given up looking for miracle products and I'm satisfied with this better than average semi-skin clearing facewash. Realistically I think it's one of the best around- although it's not fantastic and it's not cheap I really don't think there's much better out there. It does a reasonable job of removing makeup and makes my face feel plesantly tingly and clean, it's not too harsh and it foams well.

I love the Anti-Bac Cleanser. Feels great and definitely helps keep my skin clear. I wear a lot of makeup, so sometimes I find that using the Special Cleansing Gel first and then washing with the anti-bac works best, because the anti-bac isn't the BEST at getting all of your makeup off, but it is a great cleanser. Good tip: leave cleanser on your face for a minute or two.

This product is fantastic. It cleared out my skin in three days. I got these brown and pimple scars, including some inflated pimples. I decided to buy it after reading that Victoria Beckham uses this to clean her face. I was a bit taken aback by the negative comments about the cleanser on this website. Glad I took a chance and bought it. My skin is glowing and there are NO pimples or brown spots anymore.
My boyfriend noticed the difference and thought I had makeup on.

this is a great product that my beautician reccomended for my terrible inflamed and pustular acne, at first it brought out all my pimples, i wanted to throw this product away, but my beautician insisted i stick with it, i told her it dried out my skin....she told me to lather a tiny amount in my hands and then apply to my face...and that was the trick really to make it non-drying, so i stuck it out and my skin is basically pimple free now, it really takes away the imflamation, i only used one small bottle of this it lasted me a long time, i have now moved onto the dermal clay to unclog my pores.

This is a great cleanser for my skin (sensitive/combo/acneprone) Many acne cleansers just don't do it for me - they make my skin feel "tight" and thirsty afterwards and just dries it out. Not this one! It feels really good and lathers really nice when you mix it with water. I got a BIG bottle of this cleanser from e-bay and I'm sure it'll last me a loooong time, cause you don't have to use very much! If you have sensitive acne-prone skin, go for this cleanser!

i do get frequent breakouts and i thought this cleanser would help with my breakouts. but it only dried out my skin. and caused more breakouts. my skin type is oily/combination/sensitive. but this cleanser just made it worse. what i have concluded is this cleanser will only be appropriate if ur acne problem is really bad..and if u are v.oily. if u are not, stay away from this product! it will only cause more issues with your skin.
