I don't like this scent. It has a strong floral scent and a little goes a long way. It gives me a headache when I accidentally put too much of it on. I gave it to my mom because she seemed to enjoy it. She used up half the bottle, and then stopped using it for awhile. I recently found it again and sprayed some on my wrist. It smelled... bad. It didn't smell how it used to. I feel like it aged and went bad. Does that usually happen to perfume? Anyways we threw it out. Even my mom said there was something wrong with its scent.. Weird. Anyways, overall I didn't really like it. The packaging is cute though.

The original Estee Lauder Pleasures perfume has been my signature scent since my mid-teens, and I'm now in my late-twenties!
Over the years, I've bought many perfumes, most of which have only been squirted a couple of times, and none of them compare to Pleasures. I guess I'm a little boring, once I love something, I'm incredibly loyal and would always keep using it.
I specifically mentioned the 'original' version as Estee Lauder currently have three other versions of Pleasures (intense, delight, exotic). If you like light, fresh, floral scents then this is for you. I prefer my scent to not be too overpowering that you immediately notice it from a mile off, particularly as my mum is quite sensitive and strong smells can give her a headache, and this is the only one that my mum likes and occassionally asks to spray some on her wrists :-)
Estee Lauder describe this as 'Capturing the clarity of flowers just after a spring rain, this sheer, shimmering floral is a spirited blend of Lilies, Peonies and Jasmine, all tingling with the rare essence of exotic Baie Rose'
I must say that I've had a number of compliments from women and also men when they get up close & personal ;-)

Smells exactly like pencil shavings to me. Anyone else get this?

This is my FAVORITE brand perfume. I just adore it so much. It's not too light, not too strong, and the fragrance is pleasantly addicting and very natural-like. Some people say it's a light floral scent, but to me it smells like that after-rain smell.
Overall: It's very light and fresh. I love it, and would definitely recommend it.

Pleasures is a nice white floral saved from being generic by a slightly mysterious note. This is possibly the Karo Karounde. This plant is rarely used but has an ideal floral with a touch of hawthorne scent.
Pleasures is nonoffensive and can be worn to work. It's sophisticated enough to wear to even the most formal of affairs. Yet this scent is down to earth enough for casual wear.
Overall, I highly recommend it.

Pleasures Perfume for Women by Estee Lauder
Sheer, sensual, lightly floral...
The curved glass bottle with the brushed silver cap hides a global success: Pleasures introduced in 1996 is one of the most successful and enduring aqueous florals on the market and its numerous flankers (interpretations on the original idea, such as Pleasures Intense and Pleasures Delight) only speak of the innovation of the original. Sheer, soft yet immediately perceptible, Pleasures presents a beautiful, fresh emollient feeling of being freshly showered, letting precious notes of freesia, rose and peony peak through the gauzy veil created by aldehydes (sophisticated synthetic ingredients which produce a characteristic tingling soapy nuance). Pleasures is among the first fragrances developed with the revolutionary Living Flower technology which gathers the air around living blossoms in order to reproduce a more realistic impression of their smell; while it also introduced two precious essences in commercial perfumery: Karo Karounde, the blossom of a West African shrub which smells like white floral with a hint of hawthorn, and Baie Rose, a spice from the exotic Reunion island. Pleasures, a scent as pretty as a colorful, chiffon spring dress.

Even if it's not my cuppa tea (it's so... strait-laced), this is classy stuff. EL is a serious fragrance house. I like it best sprayed on clothing, so that it's my clothes (not me) that smell so starchy clean.

I think the first I smelled this stuff was from a dryed out sample bottle and I have to slave to get the tiniest squirt out but when it came out I was in love with this stuff!!! I found out my very close Aunt wore it alot when she was younger so I thought it was pretty neat that I was natrually attatched. Then my boyfriend got me the 1.7 oz bottle for Valentines Day. What a wonderful gift!! I'm sure theres a specific word for it but I love having those perfumes that mean so much to you that when you spray them it brings you back memorys of your past. This is one of them and one of my ultimate favorites! Doing this review made me just realize I'm almost out!! Good thing my birthdays around the corner!! ;] heheh

Icy cold floral, which smells fresh in the bottle, but a strange celery note appears on me which weaves UNpleasantly throughout. I got Pleasures in an Ebay lot with much-loved others, and thought I could try plain florals again...shoulda known better! I need a chypre underpinning to wear fleurs, if at all. Fine for its genre but not for me.

One of my ABSOLUTE favorites! I love floral fragrances, yet, I like them to be soft and this one is perfect! I love the smell of roses and had yet to find a fragrance that would do justice to the beautiful flower. The scent isn't grandma-ish at all! It's young and modern with a traditional touch, just lovely!

I've been an Estee girl for decades and wanted to love this perfume, but sadly was disappointed and it lingered in my cupboard. Love all the Beautifuls, wished to love this too. Now scared to try others since I hate the mall just to go test them.

I discovered this scent quite by accident in a magazine sample- surprise. I always knew it existed, but I was too distracted by edgier fragrances and more aggressive ad campaigns to try it all these years. I was very pleased with the subtle, smooth scent. Very clean. It actually smells like Dove soap on me. I specifically requested this fragrance for Christmas and I am not disappointed.

I am absolutely in love with this perfume. Every perfume settles differently on a person, so some people will naturally dislike it. Simply put, it smells like flowers and rain to me. It's not too strong, is mysterious, and beautiful. It borderlines on innocent and sensuous, light and dark. Love it.

I think the only reason why I somewhat like this perfume is because my mom wears it and people compliment me when I wear it. Honestly, besides that, it's really not for me. It's a fresh smell, but there is no sweetness, fruityness, or fun in the fragrance at all. I don't even smell the floral notes. It's not playful, sexy, woodsy, or mysterious. To me, it's purely a soapy scent. Very virginal and clean (if that makes any sense).

I first purchased this perfume when it first came out (mid-1990's) and it was, from the start, a perfume which agreed with my own body chemistry. It is still a scent which my daughter says, to her, is me. However, I prefer to wear it only in the spring and early summer, so it is a seasonal perfume for me (like Beach). I still gave it a 5 overall because it is a rare find among perfumes for me, a sheer white floral with a hint of sandalwood and a mildly powdery rose but totally lacking in the usual spicy woody scents I favor during the rest of the year. It is a sensual scent that whispers seduction and in summertime, how quietly luscious! It must be the change from my usual scents which sparks such oohs from people, so I feel fortunate that Pleasures works for me. It is feminine in a subtle way, and I will always wear it come spring and early summer. In addition, the bottle is elegantly beautiful and the price is reasonable as is most of the Lauder perfume line.

The first time I ever even heard of Pleasures was in the late 90's during college. My beloved roommate began wearing it and from then on it was the only scent she wore. Also, I never knew anyone else who wore (or wears) this fragrance so it will be forever associated with her.
That being said, I don't think this fragrance should be handled with a heavy hand. It is quite strong when first sprayed and can seem sharp and overwhelming at first. In fact, I used to hide under my fallout shelter of blankets when my roommate doused herself in Pleasures from head to toe. Many times I could actually taste it in the back of my throat!
However, I still want to give this one a decent rating because I do think it's a nice scent. I actually own a mini bottle of Pleasures that I have used on and off over the past 5 years. What I enjoy about this fragrance is its drydown and middle base notes. Pleasure smells very clean to me, but not in a marine/aquatic/ozonic way. Once the heart and base notes of this scent begin to develop it smells the way I would imagine clean linen dried in the sun on the clothesline or even canvas to smell -- it's a dry linen scent with no sweetness at all. I really love Pleasures for this part of the fragrance. When I do wear it I am very careful to only do one small spritz on my wrists so as not to fumigate my bathroom.

My mama gave me a bottle of this.
First of all, I'm giving it a three because it doesn't last long on me.
The upside is, it doesn't really smell like a fresh clean floral after a spring shower on me like Estee Lauder suggests. It smells kinda smokey and sexy, but also soft and floral. Not green floral, kind of a powdery floral. I get no green notes at all. I think it's the sandalwood and patchouli basenotes showing up more on my skin, and maybe the jasmine. I was a bit hesitant when she said she'd bought me this because I don't really want to smell like soap or a linen drawer or something. I guess I'm lucky. I'm quite fond of it.

I absolutely hate the smell of this perfume. It makes my allergies go crazy and just stinks, to be quite frank. I had roommates in college who wore it and they bathed in it, basically, so perhaps I just have a total distaste because of that. Just awful and makes me want to gag any time I smell it again. Luckily none of my friends wear it.

Sharp and gentle at the same time, this fresh floral-fruity is perfect for summer. Although it's not many-layered I find it has a rather subtle complexity which can't be found in other fragrances. All in all it's quite unique.

Wonderful, elegant floral fragrance. This was my first daily perfume and signature fragrance for years so I have so many memories attached to this. I don't agree with the "boring" comments. This is a great gift idea for a young classy lady.
