Schiap is a very bright semi-matte hot pink lipstick. I find it is the perfect color for the summer, brightens my complexion and jut makes me look fresh and awake. On it's own it's a bit too bright for daytime for myself but I find if I add a touch of MAC's Perennial High Style (from their Liberty of London collection) on top it just softens the color without detracting from the beauty of the shade. Best to keep your blush and eye makeup neutral since this is such a strong shade but I will definitely be repurchasing this lipstick.

Color: bright, beautiful pink (sephora lists it as a "semi matte shocking pink"

packaging: love the matte finish, same style as other NARS cosmetics. simple, sleek, cute

formula: this was my first NARS lipstick and .. it had a weird smell to it (maybe this is their regular lipstick smell, without any fruity/candy scent?) it wasn't TOO strong, but I wasn't a fan. Also, I know this was a matte lipstick but I found it quite drying to the point where it was difficult to apply, almost. I usually wore this with a gloss on top (too dry lips? no way!) , which made my lips look gorgeous :D

NARS lipsticks are .12oz but it looked smaller than other lipsticks..

end result: I returned it because it was $24 (compared to MAC $14) and I felt that I shouldn't keep it if I wasn't completely (or at least closer to it) satisfied with it.

too bad, it was one of my more favorite eye-searing bright pinks :( .

Great perennial hot pink - it's been around a few seasons and stays very fresh and current. I'm NW25, brunette and just grew my hair out and cut bangs...so I've been gravitating toward stronger lip colors lately to make my face pop a little.
This is great with either very neutral eye or black liner/mascara. It's a Nars matte so a little dry: do a lip balm before and then Mac prep & prime protective undercoat so you don't dry out and also so it lasts. (And it lasts.) Nice.

I am absolutely in love with this lipstick! It's a bright neon barbie pink on me- definitely something I would wear to stand out. I wear it quite often, day and night. Since I have dark hair and medium colouring (NC30) it goes with both, day and night looks. I can wear this with a silver or grey smokey eye or a neutral look and both will be dramatic enough to stand out without looking trashy. It's like my alternative to a red lip. Its semi matte texture is not drying on my lips and stays on hours without end. I've worn it the whole day without having to touch up! The packaging is alright, there's nothing really special about it. It's not cheap considering how often I wear it but it was worth every penny :)

this is a very loud & bright hot pink...suits my c4/c5 w/ yelllow undertone skintone....best to match with a neutral eye....i actually like to use nars chelsea girls over this to tone this down a bit and make it more wearable...prefer the look this way than on its own.

I really love Schiap, a matte pigmented hot pink. It's just the perfect shade (not to light, not too dark) and looks very modern with the matte finish. Works best for me to wear a bit of Chapstick under it. If you are going to go hot pink, you really should just do it and this is the way to accomplish that.

this ended my search for the perfect hot pink lipstick. everything in the past had always been just a little too fuchsia, too red, too sheer, too cool-toned, etc. -- but this is amazing. i'm nc20 and very yellow-toned and this works flawless with my coloring. the color payoff is amazing, the semi-matte finish is perfect and i can't complain about the staying power... never any problems with feathering or bleeding. would definitely repurchase, i'm such a fan.

i am a NC25 at my palest. i luuuurve the color!!
it looks super eye catching and bright but in a very stylish, modern way. nothing tacky about it.
i like the matte finish.
all girls who want to stand out and have the attitude to wear it: get it! or at least try it!
i will def buy it again.
since its not a color i would wear daily, the price doesn't bother me much.

I love this color! It is the brightest pink I've been able to find. I am very pale (NW15-20) and this color is very flattering on my skintone. Because it is semi-matte, it keeps it modern and you don't look trashy. So for those who complain it is dry, that is kind of the point of the finish, but hey, you can always throw on a gloss if you want to. I think it is best when worn with a neutral clean eye and a simple outfit to keep it classy with just the lips as the focus.

Easily the brightest lipstick I own. I like that it can be applied heavily for a bold look or toned down as a face-brightening lip stain. It's surprisingly flattering despite the brightness. It's matte without being drying.

Love, love, LOVE this lippie!! It's bright, It's sexy, It demands attention. Bold and bright, but without being hoorish. I wear this with very neutral eyes. Texture is perfection. Matte, but not drying. I guess that's what makes is semi matte? Smells really pretty too.

Bought this lipstick because of Kim Kardashian! Her makeup artist did this look on her with this lipstick & I instantly fell in love with the color. It is a nice neon-pink lipstick. Definately stands out in a crowd. Grabs attention instantly seriously. I wore this to fashion's night out in Soho, NYC. It grabbed a lot of people's attention & it's quite late too. Sort of like my lips were glowing in the dark :)

Such a HOT colour, but don't wear it if you don't want to get noticed! I am an NW20 with dark brown hair and find this to be a perfect shade of pink for my complexion. The texture is a beautiful, velvety matte that glides on and isn't drying at all. It lasts hours on the lips without having to re-apply. I always get compliments when I wear this shade.

This is one hot mama of a pink lipstick, let me tell you. As one of the other reviewers stated, this shade is NOT for the faint of heart!!!!!! I LOVE vivid, bold lipsticks and this is the hottest pink I have ever seen. It looks waaaay over the top in the tube, but don't let that scare you off. First of all, I am 44 and have struggled as I have gotten older with toning down my colors a bit, but I find that if is the right shade for my skin tone, I can still pull it off. (I'm NC25). I blot after applying and blend it really, really well with a lip liner. This is a hot pink that is retro, yet classic, a pretty 18 year old could wear or my grandmother could wear and still look beautiful. This is a matte lipstick, which I love, and even though mattes tend to be drying, I am still giving this 5 lippies because the color is so unique. I wore it when I met some friends at a film festival, put it on at 6:00 and it lasted until 11:00 that evening, through eating, drinking and even after applying gloss later in the evening to keep my lips from drying out. I have another Nars matte shade in Red Lizard and love it, but this hot pink is so unusual that it is probably the queen of my pink lipstick collection. I wear only a very nude eye with this, my HG staple. Laura Mercier Vanilla Nuts e/s lined with MAC's Phone Number. If you aren't shy about wearing bold lipsticks, you will love this shade and if you are shy and are intimidated by it and think you're too old for such a screaming color, try it, you'll be surprised!

This is a HG hot pink shade. It is unbelievably vibrant and very in your face. If you are going to wear this l/s you have to WEAR it. I think this l/s is what you could use if you are going for a kind of Rihanna rocker look. I love this stuff! I am NC45 for reference.

This is the best hot pink shade ever. I love wearing it with nothing really done on the eyes. It compliments my skin tone. I also like the way it lasts the whole day but it does slightly dry out and i put it on top of a balm or the Napolean Perdis lip primer.

I am obsessed!!! This is my go-to color this winter; just a little mascara, NARS Orgasm on cheeks, and I am literally out the door (ok, maybe some undereye concealer too). This rocks with my winter '08 style--black leather motorcycle jacket, leggings, tall boots, hoodies, fun hats and scarves--it's very playful and just straight up cool. It's perfect with the no makeup look, because it is so obvious; it's very model-y, in my opinion, very confident, kind of French, to just rock this color on its own. Go to it!

I have dark brown hair and brown eyes; my skintone is light with olive undertones.

OK, this color is definitely not for the faint of heart. And IMHO, if you are any darker than say, a MAC NC/NW15 or NC/NW20, it will not look so good on you. Why do I say that? Because the lipstick is a LOUD, BRIGHT, NEON pink, but it's not a dark pink or fuchsia shade. It's just shocking pink of the sort that you see in the art supply store. The kind sold in little glass jars for art projects. And IMO there has to be enough contrast between your lips when you're wearing this, and the rest of your face, in order for it to look even somewhat attractive. Otherwise, I think it would look like you painted your lips with shocking pink poster paint, and it will look thick, fake, chalky and just...well, weird.
I don't reach for this shade often, because I have to be in the mood for be noticed that day, but when I do, I love that it's such a fun and cheery shade.
