I got a couple of these as samples and also in gift boxes. I am not a fan of the smell to be honest. I know there's a lot of people who love it and so on and so forth, and believe me I tried to like it. But it's simply just not for me. As for the effects, it's really like any other soap, just less chemicals. The smell does linger if you wash your hands with this, I have not tried it in the shower. Smells woody/almondy? It's a REALLY specific smell, I just can't put my finger on it.

I got this soap over Christmas and I love it, I actually think it might be my favourite LUSH soap. It smells gorgeous, it's really creamy and it makes my skin really soft.
Unfortunately I've used it so much that I only have a tiny amount left. I wish it wasn't just a Christmas soap, I'd love to be able to get it all year round.

This soap smells sooooo GOOD! Just as described, I just wish the yummy scent would linger on the skin longer. I personally like my soaps to lather, and this one doesn't lather, but I bought two back ups since batches differ. To those who are saying theirs smell like playdoh, they must have gotten a bad batch, because this soap smells NOTHING like playdoh, trust me! Loves it...

I first purchased this back in Dec. very excited to try out this soap that supposedly smelled of almond frosting. Uhm no, frosting smell yet as the post below states play-doh is what I get from it also the salty doughy scent of it. Although I do like the scent of play-doh, I do not like washing my body w/the scent lol.
Well my first encounter w/my soap sucked, the chunk I cut melted before I could finish scrubbing, and i'm talking w/a loofah. Besides that it did not sud no matter what I tried, rubbing the bar over my skin, rubbing it in my hands w/a loofah, also w/a wash cloth! Omg! By this time this soap is quickly becoming my arch enemy. After wasting three chunks I finally gave up. Haven't touched it since Dec.
Now 4 months later I stumble upon Snowcake in my bathroom, fine I guess i'll give it another try, what have I got to lose? Would you know that this dang chunk i'm giving a second chance has not melted yet! I'm already on shower number 5! What the heck? It has now transformed into a soap that suds like no other, now I have nice soft white play-doh suds that last my whole shower and I even feel bad washing the excess down the drain! Overall this soap smells funny to me, now lasts forever and doesn't make my skin feel clean very long. Will finish it up and not repurchase to be haunted by this soap again lol.

I love lush, it's probably where I spend most of my money. I really wanted to like this soap. I had wanted to buy it every holiday season but never seemed to get around to it before it sold out. Well this year I received a gift from Lush that included this. It was a small little star and so very cute. I got it out of the packaging and though it smelled a little odd I didn't think much of it because I dislike the smell Lush has when all of their scents combine. So I thought that's what I was smelling. No it wasn't. This soap has the worst play-doh scent imaginable. I use it as a hand soap because luckily the scent isn't lasting and it doesn't really dry my hands out. However, I will not be buying this next holiday season.

I really wanted to like this soap. ACtually, I do like it. It has a very mellow scent that is not overpowering and not really play-doh-ish imo. I get migraines easily from scent and this soap does not trigger any for me. However, it has NO lather!!! I've used it a few times in the shower now and I had to rub rub rub and got a few measly bubbles. I don't need tons of lather to know soap is working, but I'm a bubble kinda girl and I like a soap to at least please me with some fun bubbles. This soap just teased me. So, I won't be buying it.

I quite like this soap!
Its creamy and sort of soft and moussey if that makes any sense.
I do get the hint of playdoh but I dont mind it to be honest as I can definitely smell the almond.
Will buy this year after year!

Lovely subtle scent, which goes beautifully with any almondy/vanillery/cocoa/cherry/honey type scented moisturisers afterwards. Keeps skin clean, smooth and moisturised, lathers up nicely for a creamy soap - no playdough fragrance in mine!!
The only downside for me is again this is a soap which really does leave a soap scum residue - a bit picky of me since all creamy type soaps do, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

For some reason, the first time I used this it smelled like play dough and I was really underwhelmed. It sat in my shower for a week and then I tried it again and I got that yummy almond scent I had been expecting! Nothing amazing or a must have but I do like it and would probably buy it again.

I think this might be one of my favorite soaps. It has a delicious almond icing scent and is very creamy and doesn't dry out my skin. The scent also lingers longer than any other LUSH soap I've used, I love it.

I don't understand the hype. It smells like almonds and playdoh. It's really blah and not worth the money.

This soap smells like play dough. that was a complete put off. I couldn't use it!! it looks like it has the same consistency as sultana, so i THINK it might be moisturizing!

It smells like stale oil! eww.... not my thing.

OMG! I love this soap soooo much, I stocked up on it as it's limited edition and I don't want to find myself running out of it in summer. It has to be my favourite soap from Lush I think I live it even more than Honey I washed the Kids! Snowcake and Smitten hand cream are a dream!

This has a pleasant almond icing scent, lathers really well and leaves my skin clean without feeling stripped. It's nice enough but there's other lush soap and shower products I prefer.

I hated this at first, I don't care much for the smell and hate the odd tacky feeling it leaves on my skin after rinsing it off. It smells very fake to me, plastic-y. It's not something I would have bought for myself but received it as a gift, I am glad I got it too as it works really well for me. After deciding I hated it I still was going to keep using it because it's expensive and I hate to be wasteful. I noticed that it makes my skin much softer than any other soap I have ever used, I still had the awful tacky feel at first but after it's gone and I have applied my regular lotions my skin is so much softer than usual. The smell doesn't last on my skin which is good, I have been using the Vanilla Dee-lite lotion (and Dream Cream on my psoriasis) and the scent of the soap is not noticeable with the lotion (HIWTK makes the vanilla sweeter and imo nicer). This is so far the most moisturizing soap I have tried from Lush (or anywhere else) that also does not make my body breakout from the moisture, typically I will get acne from a moisturizing soap. Will repurchase if I decide it's affordable.

Edit - Grrr, the more I use this the more I love it, that's very inconvenient since I can't get it anymore. Sigh, my skin looks and feels so lovely right now. My typically horrible looking, red marked, psoriasis/possible KP covered arms and legs are looking so much better. It makes me sad that this is going to end soon. I wish there was another product like this. Why can't they sell it year round?? Gave it another lippy for getting better and better.

ok it smelled great in the store, and even in its wrapped newsprint that i couldn't stop myself from sniffing it as i took it home, but once used in the shower, it smelled just really awful. what a waste i bought a huge chunk too. EDIT: was much better after 2nd use and skin does not feel dried out

I love this. Absolutely love it. Rock Star and Snowcake, that's all I need from LUSH. It's a wonderful vanilla/almond sweet cake icing scent that is just simply delicious. It's not cheap, so I'm trying to use it sparingly. I got a big chunk of it and cut it into three pieces. Please last and last...

UPDATE - the soap does not really lather. I don't know if you experience this too, but soap, for some unknown reason, tends to lather less and less as it gets smaller. So, as each piece of snowcake gets smaller, I feel like I'm not really getting soap from my soap. The nature of this particular soap is hard enough where I can't make it melt into a new piece of soap like I normally would do with other soaps. Smells great, but it's a bit frustrating toward the end.

This soap is moisturizing and cleans well. The scent has grown on me, and does somewhat smell like almond icing but I was hoping it would have smelled sweeter ( like burts bees almond hand creme). So the scent is a mix of "kinda almond icing/ playdoe", playdoe? I know right, but like I said the scent grows on you.

I don't understand the hype for this soap. It does smell sort of like play dough to me, and the price is quite expensive for somthing that smells like play dough and isn't all that moisturizing. I don't mind spending money on nice soap, but this one just wasn't very special IMO and not worth the money. I find cheap old ivory better than this. I do love some of Lush's soaps, but this isn't one of them.
