I really love this shampoo. It works well for my thick, dry hair (even did before I starting getting Brazillian blow-outs), it's ecofriendly, and it doesn't have sodium chloride so I can use it with Keratin/Brazillian Blow-out treatments. In my opinion, the shampoos and conditioners that are recommended to purchase with the treatments are totally unnecessary and cost way too much for an inferior product.

I don't see the point of this shampoo. It is no better/worse than any drug store brand. I like the scent, but that is about it. It doesn't do anything special for me. I'm sticking with Redken All Soft which is much much cheaper and makes my hair super silky and soft.

I am overall pleased with this product. It's not like I experienced an instant change in my hair after one use (which I don't expect any product to). However after using a bottles worth I did notice that I didn't have that build up type of feeling with other shampoos. If you don't wash your hair every day (like me) you're gonna have to shampoo twice. With the first wash, the shampoo doesn't really lather but it will on the second wash. It's a very nice clean feeling, without it feeling TOO clarified. It's not a must have, but I would buy again if my budget for the month permitted.

After all the good things I've heard, I was excited to try this. Sad to say that it seems to have made my hair shed A LOT. At first, I thought that the shedding was a result of getting older, but after I went to the dresser and used another shampoo, I realized that it was because of pureology that I was using at home. My hair would shed a ton in the shower and a ton afterwards also. Definitely will not be going back...

Fragrance is a big deal for me, and I did not like the smell of this shampoo. It's unusual and hard to describe, not a floral, not a fruit nor an herbal. Just a faint chemical smell. On top of that my wavy hair does not respond well to this shampoo and goes frizzy when I use it. Disappointing results for a relatively expensive product.

I have repurchased this many times, although not all in a row. I really wish the scent matched the Hydrate conditioner. This shampoo doesn't really have a "scent"... or at least one I want to smell like. It just smells like product to me. If I could only afford one, I would go with a cheaper sulphate free shampoo (like some of Nature's Gate Color Safe Shampoos) and this lines Hydrate Conditioner. However, I do buy this when I can because it really makes my hair feel clean, remove build up, without drying it out and I feel it helps with frizz (curly hair). Plus, it is a vegan product and SLS free. Methylparaben is much higher on the list than expected though... Over all, I will repurchase this line again.

This $27/bottle shampoo stripped the color out of my hair and left it feeling dry and frizzy. I can't recommend it. I returned it to Ulta.

This shampoo didn't do much for my hair, but it did leave it clean without weighing it down. However, the scent is less than pleasant, and considering that it didn't really do anything for my hair, is to pricey.

My scalp loved it, though.

Not crazy about this shampoo.

The pros: Smells nice, only need a little bit

The cons: Feels silky soft and clean after washing, but about 6 hours after washing, my hair is like an oil slick. And I have DRY hair.

I guess the rest of you must have VERY dry hair, because it seems I am one of the only ones who can't hack this shampoo.

IMO, save your money, better shampoos out there for less.

Pureology Hydrate Shampoo
Here's my review:
Texture: Thick and foams well.
Performance: My scalp feels clean after, and hair feels moisturized.
Odor: It's an unique scent that I personally like, hard to describe. I think this is a scent that either you really like or not at all as it's such a unique smell.
Cost: On the more expensive end.
Overall: Excellent.

I do use this alternatively with Neurology TGel Shampoo for dry scalp.

I think this line is specific for those that color, I don't color my hair but after trying the other Pureology lines, this one is best.

Pureology is still holding out as my favorite shampoo + conditioner brand. I've tried them all, and this purple bottle (the moisturizing) is my favorite. I just purchased the "smoothing" formula so we shall see how it compares. I need a moisturizing/heavy conditioner & this one delivers. I apply to my ends and work up. I have very long hair that is thin but thick in that I have tons of it! This works for me. Plus it's color safe. Trust.

This has been my HG shampoo for years now. It's just moisturizing enough that I don't *have* to use conditioner after every use. It doesn't weigh my wavy hair down, and doesn't break me out on my scalp. The bottle design is kind of annoying, because when you're almost out of product, you can't get them to stand up straight. I prop them up in my shower caddy and it drives me crazy when they fall!

I have long, color-treated wavy hair that I don't do much with, so I need high quality hair products to do 90% of the work for me. I'm really just not going to stand around ironing and drying and styling my hair and I like that my shampoo and conditioner (both Pureology) work out most of the problems for me!

They make trial sizes of this shampoo at Ulta and some salons, so if you are worried about spending this much on a shampoo at once, at least you can try it out first. I use these mini bottles for traveling!

I must say that I am hooked. This is the best hair care product I have ever used. I have thick, wavy (the not so pretty waves), and this stuff helps my hair out tremendously. I also have highlights, and I do believe this product has definitely done its job. It is also concentrated so even buying the smallest size seems to last for approx. 1 month.

I heard about Pureology from a beauty store in the mall. A relative also uses it. I really enjoy it. Never thought I'd like sulfate free products, but now I keep going back to this. I really don't have to use my straightener when I use Hyrdate S&C and the straightening gel substance that they make in the Goldish bottle. Over priced, but my hair really does good on this.

I've always heard pureology is the best of the best, but now I know why. I just got my hair lightened the other day and this hydration line made my hair felt so soft, like back in the days when I didn't color or bleach my hair as often. This shampoo lathers great, and i love how after i apply it on my hair, I can feel the softness instantly. Although the price is pretty high, the reason why i gave it a 4 and not a five on price is because a little goes a long way! I bought the pump but end up not using it because the amount that came out was too much. you just need a dime size! This paired with the line's conditioner makes hair lightweight and very manageable. Each strand is separated, which gives you a slight volume and clean feel. highly highly recommend.

This is one of the few shampoos that actually works for my very fine, wavy, dry hair. A lot of shampoos seem to make my dry scalp even worse but this is an excellent exception. A little goes a long way and my bottle has lasted forever - however, I do wish that the conditioner would be the same size, as I always tend to use a lot of conditioner with every wash. Now I will have to repurchase the conditioner before I run out of the shampoo. Anyhow, great product - and of very few shampoos that actually keeps my hair looking great for a few days, so I don't have to wash it that often (which would make my dry scalp even worse). My hair often appears oily even the second day after I wash it, but not when I've used this stuff. I really like the subtle smell, too, and the fact that it lathers really well. HG status.

This smells nice but it dries out my very damaged, dry hair.
Doesn't moisturize at all. Formula different since it was bought by Loreal.
