For a few years now I've been using the Ponds Clean Sweep towelettes, which I still really like, but have found to be slightly drying now that I'm a little older. I gave this a try after a friend's suggestion and I'm very happy with it!

The first tub I purchased was the original cold cream, which I didn't have any issues with, but I thought that this one's cucumber scent sounded fresher. (The original cold cream is rose scented I believe...) Comparatively, this one has a runnier consistency, but it doesn't leave an oily film on my face, so I'll take the trade!

I use this strictly as a makeup remover, but especially with this not being as heavy as the cold cream, I would feel comfortable trying it as a daily cleanser. I haven't had problems with breakouts from either formulation.

After experimenting with various methods, I use and recommend this process to remove makeup: 1 - Use a Q-tip to shovel out product onto CLEAN hands. This prevents cross-contamination in the tub! The cucumber type is thinner, so I can kind of "pour" a little into my hand. 2 - Apply product with fingers and gently rub to emulsify makeup. 3 - REMOVE WITH A DAMP FACIAL SPONGE. This is the trick I figured out! The little holes in the sponge catch the cream so it doesn't stay on your face, and it gently exfoliates. It leaves my skin feeling a lot cleaner than when I would just tissue it off, and it's gentler than using a wash cloth.

I got a pack of 3 round, thin sponges at Sephora. They weren't the cheapest, but I like them a lot. Sponges are great because they're reusable and easy to clean. I use some antibacterial soap to wash the cream out and let air dry upright. I don't recommend cosmetic wedges or rounds designed for makeup application. Their texture is too fine and they'll only slide the cream around.

I hope this helps anyone who's not sure how to use this awesome product! It really is the best way to get off stubborn makeup without feeling dry or tight.

What can you say about a product that has been on the market for years? It has withstood the test of time over and again. I like that I don't have to rub my eyes/face off when I take my makeup off. Definitely a must have!

This stuff is the best makeup remover eeeeeevvvvveeeerrr!, i can't tell u how happy i am that i called my mom and asked her what she uses and lo and behold it was this, but the original one, my mom has dry skin while i have the oily skin so she suggested this and damn it my mom always knows best. I must say that i first cleanse with my makeup wipes, use the ponds and then follow up with my black soap by ambi and then i use peroxide as a toner, a west indian thing my uncle told me helps rid acne and it does and then i moisturize and apply eyecream and my face thanks me for this routine every night and day. In conclusion this stuff gets the heavy duty makeup i wear like revlon colorstay off!

I began using this when I bought a heavier coverage, water-resistant foundation while on accutane (read: my skin was very sensitive and I needed a m/u remover that wasn't drying). Ever since, I've loved it. It removes about 99% of my foundation without drying my skin like most m/u removing cleansers do AND it hasn't broken me out. I follow it with a gentle cleaner to get anything that's leftover; I imagine I could do without this step, but I do feel a little "filminess" after using this stuff that I like to get rid of. After cleansing, I moisturize, and my skin is happy to be make-up-free and not stripped of all its moisture. It doesn't work well for removing eye makeup - it always gets in my eyes and makes them cloudy & irritated - so I remove eye m/u separately. I also don't like the jar factor - digging in is a little gross. However, it's a great (and inexpensive!) product I can see myself using for a long time. :)

I grew up with my grandmother using the original version every night to wash her face. I guess for that reason I always thought this was for more mature, drier skin. I am in my forties with very oily skin and the thought of putting something "greasy" on my face just makes me shudder. HOWEVER, this formula with cucumber, while feeling somewhat oily going on, removes my water resistant makeup like a dream! I remove with a warm washcloth, jump in the shower and then wash my face with a foaming cleanser. The first couple of nights, I used a toner just to make sure all of the makeup was removed and there was absolutely nothing on the cotton ball! Even after a week, my skin has not broken out and the surface of my skin feels softer. It's certainly cheap enough and I do transfer the contents of the tub into a pump bottle. I just wish Ponds would do this for me as I seem to make a small mess when I do it. Ponds are you listening?

I had previously been using Philosophy Purity Made Simple. That product just seemed to make the top layer of my skin very dry and I was noticing lines that I hadn't seen before. So I thought if Ponds was good enough for my beautiful grandmother surely it was good enough for me (as long as it didn't break me out).

i tried the original cold cream, then saw that this had cucumber in it and gave it a shot. the texture is nice, it cleans fairly well, but i don't like it as much as the original. need to use a moisturizer afterward usually. but it is pretty effective...dab on a dry face, take off with a warm washcloth. typically i need to repeat for getting eye makeup all of the way off. this would be good for those with more sensitive skin or who are prone to breakouts and don't like the idea of the higher mineral oil content in the original cold cream

pros: inexpensive, gentle cream cleanser.
cons: messy larger jar, doesn't get eye make up completely off in the first shot.

The smell is so much better than the original cold cream. Yet this just doesnt seem to do much of anything. Didn't clean my face, didn't break me out, didn't make my skin better. I hate the fact that you have to dig in the jar. Unsanitary. But it isn't horrible stuff. If you are a product junkie and want to give it a try, go for it. If you are trying to fix your complexion, skip it.

i am in LOVE!! ive tried so many make-up removers and this is far the best. i have dry sensitive skin and this has worked wonders. i just slab it right on with a wash cloth and then follow up with purpose face wash(which i recommend). but nights when im lazy, i just dab it all over my face and it works fine. its not as thick and greasy as the original. it leaves my skin smooth and glowing after. i would recomend this. also i would use st.ives apricot scrub for acne and blemish skin cause that works really well too.!!!!

My new HG makeup remover! I was previously using Clinique's Take the Day Off Balm and this gives the same results for a sixth of the price! It leaves my skin cool and fresh and all of my waterproof makeup is gone. Love it.

I love this stuff and it will always be staple in my medicine cabinet. I don't use it all the time, but I keep it on hand in the winter.

I have really dry skin all of a sudden and I use this after skiing or being out in the cold. It's also really great for sunburns. I love how light a fluffy it feels.

My makeup and eye makeup just slip right off and my skin feels so soft after I use it.

I know it has mineral oil in it, so I was afraid to use it at first. I've had acne-pron skin for a really long time, but thanks to YAZ I don't break out anymore.

This product has not caused me any breakouts, but I don't if it would be a good idea for someone with oily or acne prone skin. It probably would have broken me out like crazy a couple years ago.

I only purchased this to remove my eye makeup. It melts off makeup like no other. This has definitely solved my problems of waking up with raccoon eyes. Smell is very pleasant too.

this is even better than the original Ponds Cold Cream! the consistency is thinner, making it more workable. I use this strictly as a makeup remover only, for fearing of the amount of mineral oil in this will cause me to break out. This one is so great because it doesn't leave that nasty residue like the original, instead it's way easier to clean off. Oh, and the smell is also way better, smells like cucumbers! Will be re purchasing this again.

ive had this sitting around for awhile, i was trying to use out all my other eye makeup removers before opening this. Personally i've never washed my face with this, i put it on my eyebrows after i pluck them to stop my face from turning red the cucumber does a nice job stopping that. I used it to remove a massive amount of cream eyeshadow a rep (who had no skill what-so-ever) applied to my eyes, the makeup practically melted off (i tissued it off my eyes, didnt even smear my face makeup (: )
its deff light, and non greasy which is a huge plus

I discovered this last month, and I've used it every night since. It leaves my face feeling clean and smooth; the smell is refreshing; and it removes every last trace of my eye makeup. I used to use Olay Daily Facials cloths, which left my skin feeling a little tight and it didn't moisturize as well as this Ponds cleanser. I also tested out the original Ponds Cold Cream recently and it was disgusting; the smell was terrible and it left my face feeling greasy. I highly recommend this over the cold cream!

Absolutely LOVE this product. This is the first product I've used from Ponds and I'm so happy I've come across it. The scent is light but refreshing (I love the cucumber scent). Nothing has removed my makeup and cleansed my face as well as this has. I've used cleansers or makeup removers from shiseido, estee lauder, and some japanese brands to name a few, and to my surprise, ponds (being the cheapest at around $8?) did the best job. My face feels cleansed, refreshed, and slightly moisturized without leaving it oily. I HIGHLY suggest this product. As I've read, Ponds comes out with and discontinues products often to meet demand, so go purchase it asap so it can stay in the market!

Never thought I would love a cold cream but I find everything about this product perfect. I was recommended by my family doctor to use a cold cream with a white wash cloth when washing my face, so I randomly picked this one up. I love the scent, the way it makes my face feel, etc.

I really like this so far-- it is a little thinner than I would like, but it seems to work really well. It smells great, and its really making my skin look and feel nice. For the price, it's a great product.

I'm loving this stuff. Since my proactiv got used to my skin, it's been a wreck. I've gotten small bumps on my forehead and blackheads on my chin. It's absolutely driven me crazy. I've been having a hard time getting rid of them, even with giant doses of BP & Sulfur masks. For the first time, it seems like I might be done with them again.

I've been trying every product I could get my hands on, plain neutrogena, boscia, and mario badescu have been the latest. These have left my skin tight and still with traces of makeup!

Tired of having to deal with it, I've ditched my oil-free concoctions for the cold cream. Finally, my skin isn't parched after cleansing AND it's clean. I love the consistency of the product, it's thin but it feels like a treat on your face. I take mine off with a warm wash cloth to make sure that all of my makeup is gone and there's not too much mineral oil left. My skin feels like silk.

Unless you have a documented allergy to mineral oil - don't shy away from this. It honestly IS non-clogging and derms will tell you this. The only "iffy" thing about this product is the jar. I personally don't mind it because my hands are always clean prior to washing my face and I think it's kind of cute and retro. If you DO have issues with it though, just buy a pump container from walmart. Problem solved. :)

This is my first week, so if anything changes - I'll update. So far, so good.

I like this stuff. Compared to the water based makeup removers this might be a bit oily, but I wash my face right after removing make up so it doesn't bother me. I've been using this product for awhile, and haven't had any break outs or skin problems caused by it. It removes my makeup well and smells nice. Plus it's really, really cheap!

Great for removing eye makeup and mascara. I use it with water, not a tissue. I also use this as a facial cleanser now . I am acne prone and used to wash my face twice a day with a gentle scrub cleanser. Prolly too harsh. Now I wash with this in the morning and a neutrogena scrub cleanser at night. This hasnt caused me to break out and my skin feels much more soothed and soft.
