I'm on the third bottle of this. I love it. It washes out all my makeup...including eye makeup. (It is PH balanced so I don't worry about getting it too close to the eye area.) I love that it has Vit. C and antioxidants because most makeup removers don't provide them. I usually rub it on my face for more than 20-30 seconds so my skin has time to absorb the vitamins. Even though it is not listed as a makeup remover, I found that it is mild enough for my whole face. My face is totally refreshed and energized every evening. It is so clean for my night time regimen.

Nice simple cleanser for normal to oily skin. The smell is AMAZING and my skin is clear and bright. The pump on my first bottle was broken when I bought it, although I can still get it to work.

This and the matching toner has seriously been my favorite natural brand finds of everything I have tried. On top of that I couldn't get enough of the amazing orange smell. However using them I realized I don't do well with Lavender which is their first ignredient. Why oh why lol!. No other Vitamin C products I have tried even begin to measure up.

So far so good, I love the heavenly orange scent of this wash and it doesn't seem to dry out my normal skin at all. I couldn't decide between this and the cleansing milk, but I think I made the right choice, as I prefer something that actually foams when washing my face. Seems to be a great product so far. Will update if I experience any adverse reactions like irritation or break outs.
Continues to be a great product after over a year of on and off use. Other vit c products have caused my skin irritation or redness, but this one is lovely and gentle, yet effective. The scent I could live on alone, it's wonderful.
Note: This was a review for the Facial Cleansing Gel, not the Cleansing Milk.

After trying the moisturizer, I decided to try the cleanser. I love it! I just use eye makeup remover to take off my eye makeup and this cleanser takes off all the rest of my makeup. Not a trace is left! Cleans very nicely but doesn't leave my face feeling dry or tight. I've only been using it less than a week but it seems to really be improving my skin! I'll update if anything changes but so far I highly recommend it.
UPDATE: I love this cleanser! My skin has completely changed. It's cleared up, and any discoloration is gone. It really get's my face clean. I've been using the toner and moisturizer too. I almost got discouraged there for while, because it did take a few months but it is 100% worth it! I think my face even got a little worse before it got better. This is a must try!

have looked for cleansers up and down for a long time - this is one I've found that I think I'll stick with! Have been using for about 5 weeks and the pleasant smell makes me look forward to washing my face. I also think it has helped even out my skin tone.

don't buy this if you have sensitive skin! i wanted to like this product so much. it smells nice and it stripped all the makeup off my face, even mascara and liquid eyeliner. after two days of using it, i noticed my skin was rashy. the third day, my face turned neon pink and felt like it was on fire! it gave me like a wierd chemical burn. terrible! the wierd thing is i gave it to my husband and he loves it. it's the only cleanser he'll use now. he doesn't have sensitive skin like mine. his is oily and slightly acne prone.

Wow! what can i say??
so i have been after this product for a while. Its not that widely available worldwide and was tempted to buy from overseas, instead i waited.
and TADAH! i have the cleanser, toner and moisturiser with spf.
I tried this on my birthday in the shower, i had a lovely long shower and used 2 pea sizes of the cleanser on my face and neck. And the first thing i noticed was the lovely soothing satsuma orange fragrance, its not over powering its just lovely and refreshing! the second thing i noticed is that it lathers up straight away like a dream! making your face feel like a fluffy marshmallow! God i love this stuff! i think i'd be lost if avalon discontinued this :(! i have skin that is combination and get premenstrual and hormonal spots especially from stress, but The vitamin c line did not break me out, or make my spots worse!
So i definitely recommend this to anybody who has combination skin or skin that doesn't know whither its coming or going.
The ingredient list just puts a smile to my face, it has lots of essential vitamins, white tea, green tea and lovely lavender, camomile, essential oils and more! i could go on for ages about the vast natural ingredients but i wont!. This is a healthy product for somebody who is aware of the nasty ingredients in commercial facial products.
ive seen a good difference in my skin. just a bit before i was using a bit of peroxide benzoyl gel so my skin was peeling a lot! but using these products have helped calm my skin right down and after the peeling using the product has been making my skin feel so much more softer and radiant!
Amazing line, amazing brand.
Would continue buying even though it is quite expensive
if something is worth it it is worth it
Plus, clarins costs more and i have a lot of their toners, but this beats clarins :)
Get this girls!!! im ordering you lol!~~

At first I was scared to use this product. I have sensitive skin that is prone to break out even after Accutane. It has a very strong, yet pleasing, citrus scent. I'm so glad I tried this. This has turned out to be my HG cleanser. I even got my BF hooked on it and I don't mind sharing with him because it's so cheep! It doesn't strip my skin or cause me to break out. I use it at night for my first cleanse and it takes all of my makeup off. My second cleanse is usually Juice Beauty Cleansing milk or Weleda Almond Cleansing milk or Luvalla Cleansing milk depending on my mood. In the AM I use this Avalon Vitamin C cleanser and it is the best bestest ever. It also does not irritate my eyes. LOVE IT!

Didn't expect to like this - I'd normally run a mile from citrussy face products. And this one comes in a bright orange plastic container (definitely something 'radioactive' about its appearance) - which just screams HARSH!!!! But...I'm glad I bought it because it turns out to be just the opposite.
For under a fiver in the UK, you get 250ml of product in a pump top bottle. It is billed as being 'refreshing' and aimed at normal-oily skin. Now, usually my skin is exactly that, but when I bought the Vit C, I was suffering from some cheek dryness (due to a little over-zealous exfoliating!) However, the formula (WITHOUT artificial colours/fragrances or parabens/sulfates, but WITH vit c, lemon bioflavonoids and organic white tea - and with organic lavender extract as its top-billed ingredient) was super gentle. It has a thinnish gel texture which foams really well and is effective at cleansing and, yes, refreshing the skin, without leaving it feeling stripped. Despite containing essential oils (including orange - hence the citrus smell), it didn't irritate my sensitive eyes. (I haven't used it as a makeup remover, though, only as a face wash. But the label said it 'gently removes impurities', and makes no claims about it being a makeup remover as such, anyway.) I love the fact that it doesn't break me out. In fact it clears (and keeps away) those irritating hormonal chin spots - without tipping the balance into dryness/flakiness.
I'm not sure about its claim to protect the skin from free radical damage caused by sun exposure. I know vitamin c itself has antioxidant properties, but the cleanser surely doesn't stay on the skin long enough to really create a significant uv barrier??
Whatever, I'm pleased I took a chance on this one. If you are keen to use natural products on your face (without spending much) and have normal/oily/combination skin, it's definitely worth a try.
UPDATE: I've gone through quite a few bottles of this, but it's starting to feel drying. I'm taking a break from it in favour of more moisturing/balancing products. Still recommended if you suffer from oily skin.

I have quite dry skin and I hurriedly picked this up in a Target, thinking it was for dry skin types. It's definitely not for dry skin, but I was flying back to the U.K. the next day so I kept this, because I needed a cleanser.
I don't like wasting product so I used every bit for this cleanser and it lasted quite a bit of time. About 8 months, which is good in my books, especially since I wash morning and night. I also like the pump dispenser, since you can pretty much get the amount that you want and not waste product.
It did sort of dry out my skin, but that was my fault for buying it, as it says for Normal to Dry Skin. I just made up for it by moisturizing like normal, not a big deal for me. I love the smell, very citrusy and refreshing. And the thing I really loved about this cleanser is that it took off all my makeup, since I don't like to add a cold cream or eye makeup remover to my regime. The most important thing----It didn't break me out! And pretty much everything breaks me out! Very lovely cleanser, if I saw this again, I would be tempted to buy it again. I would defiantly recommend to at least try this cleanser if your not dry skinned :-)

I bought this on a whim (ie, didn't do my usual MUA research first) at WalMart when I ran out of Elemis Tri Enzyme Cleanser. I wanted something natural, less expensive and which didn't require on-line ordering.
On the first day of use, I loved the smell and hoped for the best. On the second day my skin was itchy and a little rougher in patches but I put this down to the change of season. By the third day my skin had formed a slight crustiness on my forehead, nose and upper cheeks. This was accompanied by tightness, a burning sensation and red splotches. Looking at the ingredients again, I think the culprit is orange oil -- if I peel oranges frequently my fingers develop an exzema-like reaction. Should have done my research.

This is a pleasant enough cleanser. I agree that the orangey fragrance is nice and fresh. As far as sensitivity goes, this doesn't flare up my skin, but it is too drying for my combination skin.

pros: nozzle pump, fresh orange scent, natural ingredients, doesn't sting, cleans face
cons: a little pricier for a drugstore cleanser
basically, this was a great wash but I THINK it started to break me out. I don't think I tested it long enough to really find out, but since I'm currently on accutane and am trying to avoid any breakouts, I will discontinue just to be safe.

I really wanted to like this cleanser. I used it for about 2 weeks and I don't remember ever using a cleanser worse than this one. It smells awful and it burned my eyes if I got this anywhere near them. Everytime after I washed my face, I would have to flush my eyes with cool water to take the pain away. My skin was also pretty clear when I started using this and by the end of the two weeks, my skin was definitely not clear anymore. Not recommended.

I love this cleanser. My skin breaks out easily and also gets dry very easily and this cleanser is perfect. It is gentle on my skin and also keeps it from breaking out (which I found a little surprising since it has a little bit of oil in the ingredients). I always use an oil free moisturizer afterward and it works great!

I really like Avalon Organics' Vitamin C cleanser. I purchased this about a week ago from Wal-Mart and am only using this once a day in the mornings - it really makes my skin feel clean and fresh. It smells wonderful (like oranges) and doesn't contain a lot of useless, harmful ingredients compared to a lot of products out there. My skin is a combination of oily in some places, dry in others and acne prone - I still get acne but I don't think this cleanser causes it. I rate this product a four because it is a bit expensive for - about $10.00 to $11.00 CDN.

This smells like real oranges because real orange oil is in this. I love the fact that it is all natural and is loaded with vitamins and antioxidants. I'm not sure if this is actually doing anything for my skin but I like to think it is. I know it has not done anything for my acne (maybe helping with my scars.. but i'm not totally sure on that). I also love that this does not have any harsh detergents, yet it bubbles amazingly. I only need a little and it will lather very well. Love this and I hope it doesn't become discontinued any time soon. I got this at iherb.com for a much cheaper price than drugstores.
