Having been using this product for a while.
Smells amazing, but I need to put a lot everytime I use it, and without the conditioner, I just feel a bit of try.
But with the conditioner, it just makes my hair super soft. Feels good!
Will buy it again and also want to try other Kiehls hair product.

I got this as a sample and was able to make it last through a few showers because as I remember it (this was a while ago, when they had just come out with Amino) the lather is really rich and a little goes a long way. I don't know what it is about this product (most likely the coconut oil) but when I came out of the shower and dried my hair, it was the silkiest and shiniest and lushest and fullest that I had ever seen it! I mean it seriously looked FAB. I did a little happy dance b/c I thought I had found my HG shampoo but sadly it was not to be. By the early evening, I was in Exxon-Valdez country- I've never see it that oily!

So I give it a 3- because no shampoo has ever made my hair look fabulous and terrible in the same day- only Kiehl's Amino Acid holds that dubious distinction!

P.S.- As my scalp is oily-prone, I wouldn't have gone out and actively sought a product whose main ingredient was coconut oil. But it was a sample so I thought "what the heck" and also on their website, Kiehl's lists it as being a product for 'all' hairtypes. Hmm...

I am just finishing my first big bottle of this and will run to the Kiehl's store to get another one when this one is done. I have fine, normal hair and this is a great shampoo for it. I have a pixie cut so I use a ton of paste and wax every day to get my hair to give it the shape and structure I need. I use this shampoo everyday to get rid of the gunk and it does so beautifully but without stripping the oils from my hair.

Every time I get a haircut, my stylist tells me the condition of my hair is great. It's shiny, clean but not stripped, soft and healthy. I do not use conditioner on my hair -- just this shampoo and some styling products.

Very gentle and moisturizing shampoo. Smells great. I wouldn't use this everyday as it would be a bit heavy, but once or twice a week is good. Works great for my husband since he doesn't use a daily conditioner.

A friend brought me this from the US a few months ago, and when I finished the bottle I searched up and down eBay until I scored a 16oz bottle, that's how much I love this shampoo! I have abundant but fine hair, flat but with unexpected kinks, and oily prone. I tried all sorts of shampoos and conditioners. With conditioner, my hair was manageable but got oily fast; without conditioner, it would get all sorts of weird, especially in winter humid weather. Also, shampoo for oily hair seemed to only make it worse. I finally got my hair manageable with a combination of Amino Acid in the first wash, L'Oreal color shampoo in the second wash (for my highlights), no conditioner and only a few spritzes of thermal protector and then blow-drying. I plan to keep on using this shampoo for a very long time.

This shampoo made my hair really really oily. I used it twice and looked like I hadn't washed my hair in a week both times. I returned it to NM. My hair is highlighted, very fine but thick.

I Love this coconut shampoo and the conditioner, They had a wonderful large size bottle which was awesome size for my long hair, and for my every day usage BUT NOW, Neiman Marcus who rents the stall for this Keihl's dept, has decided to reduce the size of there coconut shampoo and sell it in a smaller sizes!! I AM FOR SURE BOYCOTTING this product until i find the large size of this shampoo again,...somewhere, I am looking for a 16 oz bottle or larger, yeah i know, Good luck, I wont be able to find one locally here for that 16 oz size? now its 8 oz, (JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I love this shampoo. My hair looks very shiny and healthy after using it. However, it is a little too heavy for my fine, curly hair to handle everyday so I use it twice a week. I have already repurchased.

Loved this shampoo, but not sure if cost is justified. Lathered for me, and I like the coconut scent.

I tried generous samples of the Amino Acid Shampoo and hated it. Didn't lather. Didn't make my hair or scalp feel clean yet it dried out my hair at the same time. Not for me (I have thick, coarse, highlighted hair).

i absolutely hated this shampoo! it didn't lather at all which means you have to keep pouring more and more product to get it through your whole head and the coconut scent was completely unappealing to me as well. afterwards, my hair didn't feel cleansed instead it felt like i just wasted a lot of product down the drain and a lot of money out of my pocket. i much prefer their herbal shampoo. that is worth the price. this is not!

I love this stuff - it's great at cleaning your scalp (thanks to salicylic acid) and taking dirt and styling products off the hair. One downside is that I do think it's terribly overpriced, but I have not found anything that works quite as well when you need a super-cleaning shampoo.

This is the only shampoo that my mom and I use, and it's the best. It makes her dry, color treated hair feel super soft and makes my fine hair shiny and silky smooth. I use this combined with the Formula 133 conditioner (great) and I've rebought these products again and again for at least a year and a half now. At $27.50 for a 16 ounce bottle, it isn't cheap, but once you try it, you won't go back to drugstore brands.

I think the feel of some kind of tightness after using this shampoo is from an ingredient called salicylic acid in it, which have some light degree of exfoliating function. I think this shampoo is ok for me though. My hair has oily root but a little bit dry end. I won't recommend it for daily use though.

For the price and the size of this product, I believe 4oz bottle is about $20. Its amazing how much hair companies will charge for products, but anywhoo....this shampoo is okay. It is formulated for thick, dry hair that needs extra moisture, but it just didn't satisfy me. the aroma is okay, coconut smell. It isn't the worst shampoo on the planet, but I'm the type of girl that needs tons of shine in addition to moisture, so i have been using other shampoos to fullfill that objective.

This wasn't that bad, it cleaned my hair really well but it was alittle drying to my hair and scalp. This the silk groom and the leave in conditoner are the only kiehls products I can deal with. I still would not repurchase.

I am on my second bottle now. And that's an acheivement for me because I have never found a shampoo I like enough to buy again. It really rescued my damaged hair in combination with the Kiehl's extra strength conditioner with added coconut and formula 133. My hair was completely not managable and even kerastase didn't help after a month or so. In fact, kerastase chroma reflect line worked great for about 3 weeks and started to dry my hair out like crazy and made it worse than before. That's when I switched to this. It's been more than 4 months and still works great for me. I also love the coconut smell.

The first half of the bottle of this shampoo worked great. I have dry, color damaged hair and it did a good job of cleaning my hair without either overdrying or weighing it down. And I absolutely loved the coconut scent.

The second half of the bottle...absolutely horible! The more I seemed to use this shampoo the more it would build up. My hair would keep looking greasy and gross immediately after use. I eventually had to switch shampoos without finishing the bottle because my hair got so gross looking.
Will never ever buy again, ever.
